All right. N45 in Europe is north of Italy, far south for me. And it ain't better here . Thanks for the stop.
After not being able to visit Gz of the devine recently, it was great to find this half devine cache. Kia ora rawa atu Onslow Fisherman. And so 7 days after returning home from a five month trip to the UK and Europe, I am off on another trip. This time its within New Zealand as Itchyfeet2020 and I are on our mega road trip to Dunedin. We are focussing on particular caches for various challenges, as well as having a great lot of fun and seeing the scenery in our wonderful land. -LET US HAVE A BLOCK PARTY!!!On May 3rd, 2025, we will be celebrating 25 years of geocaching in Rotorua, New Zealand with a special Block Party event. NZ_B and I are on a road trip to the Geo Toroa Mega and back. I'm also aiming for a multi every day, so it is now titled the "Mega Multi Road Trip." Today is Day 12 from Queenstown to Lake Tekapo. A fun cache. Having done the devine cache recently, it was fun to do this half devine. I got down to 001 parts of a minute. But due to parking, decided not to keep trying A fun cache, thank you for placing here. It's nice to have a trip where, alongside targeted caches, we also take time to find one's on a whim or ones that take a bit longer. We have all day and the caches are calling...
Quick find on way from Geraldine to cromwell. Always useful to get the odd minutes.Tftc
Thanks Onslow Fisherman for the cache. Its #1804 for us. We found your cache onTuesday 14 November 2023. Poor parking opportunities here! Still 45 South is something to celebrate. Couldnt miss the container in that colour
Down in S Island s otago for a 10day stint so a few caches
Need visiting and this wandered because of its attributes for project gc stats etc
Thank you for thiscache . The ground has under gone some ground work but luckily the cache survived or it was
Looked after by the work crew . Photos later .

Rest assured. The cache is still there despite the recent work to install new power poles.
Nice easy grab though not sure how soft the shoulders of the road get in the wet.
Day 3 on our holiday in New Zealand. On the way from Twizel to Te Anau, we also visited this traditional cache, found it, and signed the logbook.

Hi there Onslow Fisherman - A dat trip from Wanaka to Cromwell for a light lunch (and back the other way) today. We found this cache at 0222pm after a short search - and the container and log were both in good condition unless noted in the Fieldnotes below. TN, LN, SL. Thanks to Onslow Fisherman for this cache - the 4th of 6 finds for the day.

On a tour of the area getting some caches. I needed one of the attributes for a challenge. Thanks
Thanks for the cache OF. Enjoyed a quick stop here today. Picking up caches today for a challenge involving 1500km so pleased to see a previously not claimed png on my roadie today. Ended up using this one for an older placed cache also required
Heading inland on our honeymoon and stopping off for caches in places we often drive past. Sad to hear about the passing of the CO below, have found many of their caches while exploring today. TFTC
Heading down the line, destination is Bluff via Kingston. Be rude not to grab this on the way past, given the coordinates! Thanks.
TFTC Onslow Fisherman, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 2 find(s) of 3 today, making this find #3220

Today I shifted my snail shell from Twizel to Lowburn this morning. And after lunch decided to locate and sign off the caches I passed on the road that didn't have big enought carparks for my long rig.
Saw the nice little cairn.
Cheers for the cache.

Found with downsouthinv and Mr&MrsFraggle . A lot easier to get to than the other side of the lake, far less puffing and panting! Tftc
Over the last year I have crossed over all of the parallels that cross new Zealand , yes from the cape reinga light house ,down 90 mile Beach and over mountains , rivers I walk the Te Araroa and had one amazing adventure as I got to see parts of nz that most will never see one foot step at a time.
Yup I'm missing the trail and picking this one up brought the memories and milestones back .
I have nabed the 45 south on the other side of the lake so now have the compete set .
I have been past here so many times when I lived in Alex but today was special as I have now crosed all nz parallels by foot.
My next walk will hopefully will be in the USA but our frend covid will need to be nice .
Getting out and about in to the out doors is my happy place so any excuse to go caching.
Life is short. Live one foot step at a time.Never say" I'm gonna "- Just do it!!
Thanks for the hide

We are staying at the Rotary Glen NZMCA camp and grabbing a few caches in the wider area.
This was one of a few we found before deciding we preferred the shade at the camp.
Thank you Onslow Fisherman.

Thank you Onslow Fisherman.
We're hunting Tour caches and anything that's not slowing down our objective to much. We scored 3x nights at Rotary Glen with max occupancy of 10 vans. The plan was just 2x but it's just to nice.We never explored Cromwell, just raced through so we're going to make the most of it. We had to overshoot GZ by some 120m before we could find a marginal parking spot. It took the same amount of time to pick all the seeds out of socks and shoe linings as it took to reach GZ, find the cache and return to the car. It's what caching is about. Thank you Onslow Fisherman
Spent a hot couple of days in Wanaka and today we were heading home. Cooler today too so an opportunity to get some caches.
Another spot where I felt very conspicuous as I walked from the parked car to the hide. Walked directly to it so not a lot of time spent at GZ thankfully. A single cyclist seemed to be tracking me as we both passed each other several times along this road as I stopped at the caches dotted along here. I’m sure he thought I was up to something!! Tftc

I think I've probably found a cache at 45 South on the east coast but I'll take another. Thanks Onslow Fisherman

QEF here after exploring Bendigo. Cheers.
Saturday 24 October. Alexandra, Cromwell, Bendigo and down to Dacra for the night.
Toby, Zara and I are on a 3 week geo adventure of Cromwell, Southland, Catlins, Balclutha with a day in Dunedin and quick stop in Timaru. With Lenny, my trusty navigator and TBD my companion/mascot. we managed to visit lots of green boxes, now happy faces with the odd sad one. Did some LABs , earth caches, virtuals and wherigos, all chucked into the mix to rack up 500 odd caches. Lots of kilometers, lots of exploring and lots of fun. Thanks to all COs for our wonderful experience.

After a few hours of hiking around Bendigo we stopped for this cache on our drive back into Cromwell. The number 45 sends chills through my spine. Hopefully after November 3rd, those chills will start to disappear. TFTC.
After spending a couple of days around Cromwell we are now on our way north to Omarama or perhaps further. This was the first find for the day Mr S found it, in between traffic. Pretty sure we have done another cache at 45º S over Dunedin way.
Thanks Onslow Fisherman.
Thanks Onslow Fisherman.
Day 16 of my 2020 NZE (New Zealand Experience).
(My apologies for the delayed logging but I'm still in catch-up mode)
Seeing as I can't be in America right now, I'm touring around the South Island instead. During my time here I am aiming to find as many of the TMGT caches as I can (preferably all 41) and also as many Virtuals, Earthcaches and Letterbox Hybrids as possible, plus any Trads or others that will fill a hole in my D/T grid, my Jasmer grid, or else the last 3 remaining Hidden Dates on that grid.
I was last in Queenstown about 18 months ago when some friends of mine were touring around the South Island and I flew in to join them for a few days. I've been lucky enough to visit a few times now and yet the sight of the Remarkables never ceases to amaze me. My wonderful tour is nearing the end, and today I was planning on having a leisurely drive from Queenstown to Tekapo.
The road from Queenstown to Cromwell is one of my favourite drives. I love the juxtaposition of the drama of the rugged ranges and the flat calmness of the vineyards. This is not a drive to be rushed, so I was happy to pull over every so often to try for a cache.
This was effectively a quick park n grab for me today. As I had been heading north as I pulled over, I just needed to be careful crossing the road to get back to GZ. Once I was able to conduct my search, the cache was a quick find. There were no issues with it, so the log was duly signed and the whole lot replaced as found before going on my way again.
Thanks for placing this cache.

A quick find today while we had some time to kill in Cromwell. Glad to tick another OF cache off our list. Miss you mate.
I'm catching up on my logging which seemed to have stalled even though we have been in lockdown, my excuse is that I have been working throughout.
Found on our southward leg - day 2. Parked as far off road as possible but fortunately not much traffic.
This started out as a Geocaching road trip to Invercargill to drop off some stuff for the niece and collect some other stuff for Mrs banian. It turned into a bit of a race back to Wellington to beat the Covid-19 lockdown.
We were able to rebook our Ashburton accommodation and ferry ticket to earlier in the week. When we arrived in Picton the vehicle queue was almost a kilometre long, and got longer behind us. Fortunately, as we had tickets we were still able to get on our sailing.

Somewhat tricky for parking on such a high speed road. Dashed to GZ to make a nice quick find. TFTC
Yay! Easier than attributes indicated (no rock climbing gear needed - just safety as very busy road). We live in Vermont USA at the 45th parallel north, so it was cool to get this one. Cache was in good shape. SL. TFTC.
The sign closer to Cromwell us warning of rain, you wouldn't think so today its lovely fine and warm. The perfect weather for caching.
Somehow I was expecting something else. Something to be here but all we found was a geocache which was great. While signing the log we had a look at the local terrain. Some people went to great lengths in the past to dig up gold. Thanks for putting the cache here. Most people driving this road would have no idea what is over the fence. Gave us a chance to pause and ponder.
Da mein Urlaub langsam zu Ende geht, bin ich auf dem Weg zum Flughafen nach Christchurch. Während eines kleinen Fotostop's, habe ich diesen Cache gefunden.

On our way from Cromwell to Geraldine. After the road being empty as we drove along, it suddenly got surprisingly busy when we stopped here! So I’m afraid I stayed in the car as sir went and signed us in! TFTC
Our first one of the day on our drive north on SH8. We drove this way two years ago and got many of the caches but I’m delighted that there are several more to get. This one is in a delightfully quirky place, the something so neat about the coordinates. TFTC
On the case of the biggest Museum jewel heist in history! Locating a detective, briefed him on the case and investigated the scene collecting evidence. Finding fingerprints, footprints and shadows recorded on video surveillance - one by one fifteen stolen gems were recovered only having to find another 8/27 caches to solve the vault code changed by the thieves, return the jewels and close the case. Found a good park and stretched the legs to the GZ. Still one or two 45° spots up for grabs that don't require a walk uphill since I've FTF on a recent (almost) puzzle nearby and these local two West of the line. New Zealand is not so up and down straight forward, some of those mountains can be quite daunting. Found the wery pink puce cache and grabbed the dry ok logbook in a glad mini, since the baggy was ripped and no one was coming back to administer some luv instead of just leaving the question hanging. Thanks for leaving a cache here Jim, someone cared enough.

One of 15 located today between Cromwell and Roxburgh, including the Bendigo area, on day 2 of a week-long break in the Central Otago / Southland region.
Wanted to do this cache because of the coordinates! Had found the 45th parallel cache on the other side of the lake on a previous excursion to these parts. Found this one reasonably quickly today. #2387. TFTC.

With coordinates like this, we had to pull up by the side of the road to make the find. EB99 almost fell out of the car and on her return I had to pull her back in.
Thanks Onslow Fisherman for placing this cache so that we could come and find it

Thanks just run a 100 km at Northburn. A DNF for the miler. Look at the hills beside you. You can get 10,000 meters of climbing in 160 km. Things went wrong early in the race and I never recovered. Always next year. Have 2 DNF at 100 km and 1 buckle for finishing.
A dot day today so a nice easy cache to find.

How interesting to have stopped at 45 degrees south. On holiday and out exploring as raining so get some caches. Pretty sure not seen as no cars going past. Thanks for putting a cache here Onslow Fisherman.

We are on our summer holiday driving around the South Island with no real idea of where we will end up each day. We are often drawn to an area that has the potential to give us a few geocaching smilies and somewhere we have not spent time exploring before. In some cases we are revisiting placed that we have been before but liked so much we are going there again.
We decided we would head to Cromwell to see an old friend, so here we are stopping along the way. The rain was making sure we did not stop too many times today, but could hardly drive past this one.
The cache was a quick find, signed the log and returned it as we found it.
Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley

Today we made a trip in and around Cromwell, thus visiting many sightseeing highlights. On this trip we searched, found and logged many caches, too. The weather was beautiful, sunny, very warm, no little bit cloudy, and only sometimes there was some wind.
Almost no muggels observed us as they had to drive their cars on the not too easy roads around here.
Thanks to Onslow Fisherman for showing us this location and for the fun we had at 45 South Zero Minutes (Central Otago). The search we had here today didn't take too much time.
Greetings from Germany and hope to see you soon in the forest.

On a fishing trip to Twizel, fishing wasn't that great, thought go cache some caches. TFTC
Up from Invercargill, working in the area for a few days. Initially drove past this one, thinking there was some significant signpost or something. A quick find, nonetheless. Hard to fathom this is further north than Oamaru, my wife's hometown. Thanks.
We've done a few 45 degrees so had to keep the streak going. Thanks for the cache Onslow fisherman
I have crossed this line around 6 x now but great to get a cache with all the 0's thanks Onsloe fisherman
Interesting to see where this was in relation to the 45 ° monument on SH1 which is near where I grew up. Tftc
Just a few days ago on the opposite side of the lake, I was able to find two caches both located at a 45° landmark. But this one here was the only one being hidden at exactly 45° and it was a quick P&G for ReCached and me. TFTC Onslow Fisherman!
