No luck for us here today as the Lower Cascades track is closed. We have it a red hot go though. The sign at the start of the track said it was closed for swimming. But another sign said stay away from the waters edge. We walked until the track was next to the creek and the cache just under 400m away and decided we should probably follow the National Park instructions. So, on this mildly overcast 31 degree morning, we headed up the Upper Cascades walk. Hot and sweaty, we arrived at the top and had a reccy down below Curtain Falls. There were four hikers who decided to swim there despite the signs advising against this. At this stage, we were only 50m away from the cache. But we knew wed have to walk near the edge of the creek again and decided to forego this one. Perhaps another time. Instead we took off our boots and cooled our feet in the refreshing water above the Curtain Falls. Cheers Gaztek
Track closed and bridge seemingly taken off the creek… Didn’t feel like wading then walking an extra few hundred meters. Not sure of the legitimacy of the last log?
Today we explored some of Litchfield national park. We walked the whole track here, found a quiet spot near cache to have a more secluded swim watching the awesome waterfall. Clever container. TFTC
Around Litchfield National Park today with chychu... After visiting the termite mounds we went to Cascades for a swim... Took the long route and started at Upper Cascades working our way down... At first we were looking too low, then found a good route to the cache... Nice box!

Would've missed this great spot and just stayed at the upper section of the cascades if it wasn't because of this cache. Relaxed in the waterhole after working up a sweat with looking for the cache. Such a lovely spot. TFTC!
Approaching this one from the long loop around the upper cascades, we were quite hot by the time we arrived near GZ.
After signing the log here, it was time for a swim before continuing a walk back to the car park.
Lots of people are enjoying the water here also.
Thanks TiedyeSmileys

Wir haben das Rockhoping von oben nach unten gemacht und sind schnell fündig geworden. Tftc
I bit of a climb, but got it in the end.
Sandyofthesea and I took off from Perth at the start of April to travel more of Australia using geocaching as a guide to see the sights. How good is this country!!
TiedyeSmileys, I found Rock hopping at the cascades today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

Up from Melbourne and now coming to an end of a two week holiday. Visited Darwin, Kakadu & Katherine. Today was being spent at the Litchfield NP. Followed your instructions to find a delightful cache container. We then enjoyed a swim in the cool water. We walked out the same way as we walked in then realised if we had of climbed up the embankment we would have seen the cascades. Damn!! Good reason to come back. Favourite point for cache container and location. TFTC

Today our tour - which began in Perth, WA , and led us thru Western, Northern and Southern Australia back to Perth, was simply driving around in the Litchfield NP.
On the way we came to some interesting locations. Here we searched, found and logged this Tradi-Cache.
Weather was good in the morning and it should even get better during the day.
Thanks to 'TiedyeSmileys' for showing us this location, for the fun we had with 'Rock hopping at the cascades' and for the smiley. The search here and today didn't take too much time, fortunately.
Greetings from Germany and we hope to see you soon in the forest, prairie, desert or outback .

Actually I wouldnt even had a look if there is a cache in this area as my travelmate is a muggle and I already get enough on his nerves with searching for caches. But as he decided to just go for a third swim in the lower cascade after enjoying two dips on top and in the middle I was like "ok, I am just gonna go caching". Luckily this one wasn't that far so I only had a short climb to a great Container. Lots of fun.

From 23.09 until 24.11.2019 Stadibast and I spent our holidays in Australia.
During the first four weeks we drove with a camper van from Darwin to Perth along the West coast and its amazing national parks, in which we made several hiking tours.
After that we flew to the wonderful green Tasmania for a roundtrip lasting two weeks.
For the last three weeks we went back to the continent and followed the South-East-Coast from Melbourne to Sydney.
We had impressive nine weeks in Australia, in which we hiked through various national parks, visited interesting sights and met many friendly and helpful people.
Thanks to all owners for setting and maintaining their caches.

We traveled through Northern Territory for four weeks. We started the journey in Alice Springs and drove to Uluru, Kata Tjuta and then to Kings Canyon, MacDonnell Ranges, back to Alice Springs, to Devils Marbels, Katherine, Katherine Gorge, Kakadu NP, Litchfield NP and then further on to Darwin. On the way we found some caches. This was one of them. TFTC!

found it TFTC well after going the wrong way ( to the top falls and turned back lol) we made our way to the lovely area of the cache ...... beautiful. Cache in good condition
ClanMagee spent a lovely day relaxing in Litchfield. This was our second for the day. We dropped our bags and jumped in one of the pools. Once cool, MisterMagee made the scramble and a quick find, taking care not to disturb (or be stung) the cache guardians. TFTC.
We are on vacation in Australia and of course we seek some caches.

Not too much rock hopping for us today as the Lower Cascades is still closed which was disappointing. So up the long way we went enjoying a nice dip once we reached the cache location. Bit of a tricky climb and soon had the cache unearthed. Beautiful spot to visit and many others thought the same today. TFTC and for bringing us to this nice location.
An enjoyable walk whilst exploring the park. It was a hot day and the waterholes were great! A beautiful spot and a well hidden cache. TFTC FP.

We spent 17 days exploring the Kimberley trekking from Darwin to Broome along the Gibb River Road. It was an amazing adventure, with beautiful scenery lots of wild life and great company with Kimberley Off Road Adventures.
Prior to the tour we hired a camper van and explored Litchfield and surrounds.
Another great cache container here. Loved it.
Awarding a Fav point.

Found it together with ravestorm on vacation in Australia!
short version:
Best cache of the day, beautiful (and adventurous) walk, great container, quite easy find after reading and re-reading and re-re-re-reading the description. - > FP
long version, added later back at home:
The owner of our B+B at Batchelor had suggested to visit the Cascades when she heard that we wanted to avoid the crowds. She did a little painting showing us that we should just follow the river. We were happy to find out that the Cascades at two geocaches as well: One at the start of the track and one at the cascades, impossible to get lost!
We crossed the river twice using bridges, and I said "those are probably new, no rock hopping required any more, yeah!". Little did I know...
The track (to the lower rockholes) was easy until 36m to GZ missing. Not only did the rock hopping begin here, it also started to rain. First slowly, then really really heavily, a tropical rain that we europeans are not used to. A bad idea to cross slippery rocks under the rain. I wanted to wait a bit and think what to do, but ravestorm got a mixture of disappointment, frustration and anger, and simply turned around mentioning every ten seconds that he's "wet to the bones". Men....
I didn't have a chance than to follow him. He had gone some 100m (including a river crossing) when the rain stopped. I pointed out that it would be a really stupid idea to do rock hopping on slippery rocks now. And we were already on our way back. Ravestorm agreed that it was really a silly idea to try to find this cache. We looked each other in the eye, silently agreed and turned around, towards the cache.
The rocks had dried quickly - this red rock really soaks the water up - of course we had to go carefully, but it was doable. Soon only two meters to GZ were missing. We searched a bit, I also climbed up a level, but we couldn't find any cache. Reading the description helped, though. We read it various times, like "so he approaches from there", "here he's probably referring to this" etc. . It really took us some minutes to analyze the situation but then it was clear what we had to do. Some more rock hopping, a slope, an attack of green ants (AAAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHH!), and when we were more or less on our previous position I moved the first stone - and it was immediately the stone that covered the cache!
And it was such a beautiful cache! The best cache of our whole 3 weeks in Australia I think, not only for the box, but also for the adventure. And for finding this cascades. We hid the cache again, fought against the ants another time, and then ravestorm even permitted me a swim! It was so nice, we had the area for ourselves, enjoyed the waterfall (small but nice) and had a relaxed time.
On our way back to the car we met 4 muggles in total. Maybe we were lucky to have the waterfalls for ourselves, or maybe the muggles turn around when the rock climbing begins? The first two muggles were very nice and pointed a big lizard out. The other two muggle girls crossed our way dressed in bikini and flipflops and I wondered if this is a good shoe for the rock hopping. Well, maybe they were locals and knew what they were doing.
The return journey was very fast, it took only 10 minutes or so and not ages like the way to the cache had taken. In a distance we heard a thunderstorm (that became a heavy rainfall some 20 minutes later). We were a bit tired and also saw a chance to visit the center of Darwin, so we said goodbye to Litchfield here and returned towards Batchelor.

Found together with Schlauchen during our 3 weeks vacation in Australia.
The owner of the BnB in Batchelor where we stayed overnight suggested to us the Cascades so here we couldn't miss this place.
At the beginning we crossed the river twice using bridges and Schlauchen thought we didn't need rocks hopping. She didn't know what was expecting us yet. When we were really close to GZ (some 30m) started to rain, first slowly and then really heavily. It wasn't a good idea to go ahead and hop above slippery rocks. I was totally wet, frustrated and angry so I decided to go back to our car and Schlauchen couldn't do anything else than follow me. After 100m or so it suddenly stopped to rain and the sun shone again. Schlauchen pointed out that it was a stupid idea to go back to the cache and I agreed but after some seconds of silence we both turned around towards GZ. The rocks dried quickly and in no time we were at a couple of meters from GZ. We looked all around but no trace of caches. We read, re-read and re-read again the description and eventually we found the right way to the cache. Some rock hopping, a climb and a green ants attack and we had the cache in our hands. Then Schlauchen had a swim in the rock pool while I relaxed lieing on the rocks.
On our way back to the car we met 4 muggles in total. The first couple pointed out to us a big black lizard. The other two young girls dressed bikini and flipflops and we wondered if this is a good shoe for the rock hopping.
Definitely an amazing cache, maybe the best one during our vacation in Australia.
TFTC and greetings from Italy.

So beatifully made! These are the caches that have been created with lots of TLC. Definitely a favorite. TFTC all the way from Switzerland. (TB out)
First one today in the Litchfield park. When I already saw the container and just wanted to grab it, I recognized a snake, just 15 cm left of my arm at the rockface. Scary moment!! So far I don't know what snake it was (bit like brown but a black/dark head). But she decided to move on and I was able to log the cache. Thanks for the adventure
Love the camo! We came down the river and stopped for a swim at the falls - a bit cool but lovely.

Regarding the T-rating we expected more of a climb but once we found the best access to the cache, the rest was fairly easy. It was the first of these special "boxes" in Litchfield and we liked it a lot! Probably those boxes are the best ones we found in Australia so far. Thanks!
Out and about from Wangi camp grounds and visited many new and interesting places. We picked this one up on the way. Yes the cache is there, but the elevation is the key to finding the cache. Adding to our favourites.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

On our [trip around the world](http://www.hoppundweg.piekar.de/) we came to Australia as well. We started in Tasmania, rented a campervan in Melbourne and went up the Eastcoast to Cairns. Then we drove all the way to the Red Centre. We finished in Darwin. We searched many caches and found almost every cache we searched for . Thanks to all the owners of these caches. Now, 2 years later, we recognized, we will never be able to log every cache seperately... So: Sorry for this standard logtext and thanks for one of the caches, which accompanied us on our journey.
Our last full day in Australia, tomorrow we have to leave the country, due our visa wont be valid. So we spent a amazing day in the Litchfield Nationalpark for swimming, caching and walking. Up to the cascades we walked the official and after taking a bath we used the closed way. It was a little bit more adventures but not dangerous. Of course we looked for this cache and after a while we were able to sign the logbook.
Found It!!! What an adventure this was with Kym's Adventure We headed off on what we thought would be a pretty straight forward hike and grab...no! hahahaha after heading down the lower cascades and finding the track was closed that way we headed up the upper cascades track and went the long way around. The sun was pretty hot this day and was grad we had a good supply of sunscreen and water to get us through the trip. After reaching the upper cascades we made our way along and down to GZ. Kym was the expert rock hopper as I was too worried i'd slip an fall in with my camera finally at the GZ and some muggle diverting we found the cache and stopped for a bit of a breather! What a good cache container again Tieyesmileys TFTC Kym got the TB and you'll get a FP from me Dropped in Army Man
Found this one during my roadtrip through Australia while exploring Litchfield National Park. I took the hard way to the cache & without shoes, not that easy. Loved the work gone in this one. Amazing container & lovely place. What's not to love?

The cache involved a lot of rock hopping, but also lovely dips and waterfalls. The ultimate surprise was the GZ itself. A great hopper. TFTC
Another marvelous cache by the Tiedyes.
Although we were in Litchfield four years ago we either did not notice this area or it has only relatively recently been opened. It's is a great addition and we enjoyed it immensely. We walked in the lower track and then worked our way up to the top of the upper cascades. Then we started to swim our way back down stopping to spend time in each of the pools and shallows with our final dip under the falls.
Mr SKI although having read the description diverted on the way up to the falls to search for the cache. A senior's moment! He did however get a good view of the scope and overall layout of the Cascades, and of course some photos. Hot and a bit bothered after the fruitless scramble up through the scrub he opted for a swim as mentioned previously. It was only once we returned for the falls he searched again according to the description and easily came up with the goods. A great cache container.
Thank you for a thoroughly enjoyable cache and location.
You guys are legends!

On our way from Perth to Darwin we saw many great things and places - many of them thanks to geocaching! We thank the owners for sharing their favorite spots with us by hiding their caches!
We went for a drive through Litchfield National Park, and did some caches while we were there.
As we were running short of time, we left 4 behind, but I'm sure we'll be back another time to get them.
About a 1km walk, we found this interesting cache hiding in the rocks, overlooking a beautiful river.
This is one cache that we can recommend for others to do.
Thanks for the cache, TiedyeSmileys.

What to say, this cache is just genius. Nice walk and very creative cache container. First climbed all the way up to the top after considering a more accessible route, I just stumbled upon it. TFTC
This is a fabulous wander and rock hop
At the end of it all is a beautiful swimming hole and waterfall
I wandered up and down a bit and finally worked out the trick to get to GZ.
A few touristas were splashing around below the falls, but the path to GZ took me far enough away from them so they didn't see what I was up to
Well even if they did, then I'm sure they couldn't have been bothered to have a look !!
Another creatively funny TiedyeSmileys cache was soon found and the cache un-pouched

A bit of rock hopping got us in the mood for finding this cache and this critter. I can't imagine how the last searcher managed to miss this one... then again they could have been at the wrong 'level'... A pleasant walk, creek crossings and a rewarding dip at the end. Another TiedyeSmileys cache that doesn't disappoint!
We went nearly all the way but at the last 8 meters we had no clue where to go and all steps and jumps seemed a bit too risky for us. Nice walk though, thanks for bringing us out here TiedyeSmileys.
Thanks to people who take the time to make such lovely caches!
Was a great pleasure to look for this one.

TiedyeSmileys inovation at it's best! A very hot walk but a refreshing swim at the end.
Thanks for the find.

Yet another great TieDieSmileys cache...
This late in the season it was pretty hot and humid... I should have trusted my instincts whilst on the "lower" path: would have been a quick find - but no - implicit faith in the GPSr had me all over the place - and all of the places, the wrong ones.
After giving up on finding the "broad rocky ledge" (Mr TdS - we have a fundamental difference in idiosyncratic interpretations!), a quick look at the infernal machine made me realise I was a mere 29 m away from the prize - so a bit of a scramble uncovered the goodies.
TFTC, TdS's.

And yet another favourite given out to the TiedyeSmileys. Great cache.
We saw aome baby froglets hopping around on the edge of the creek; some lizards; and a marvellous Rock Wallaby cache is in good condition. TFTC and the walk.

I was hanging out for a swim at Wangi but so wished that I had taken the bathers here the pools are terrific. I had to pretend to be taking photos as I accessed the cache but it was a good place to do that from. Thanks again TiedyeSmilies.
Wow. Only the second to find it! Nice hide TiedyeSmileys. Lovely spot. Lovely swim.
This was our 4th cache in our caching run today - and we found it at around 12:40.
(So this is our 4613rd total find.)
Wow guys, you really go all out with your cache containers.
We would have liked to have a dip in the pool here, but our bathers were in the car (and it was too public to skinny dip)
Took: Nothing
Left: Nothing
Thanks TiedyeSmileys for the hunt today.
