Out again to drop daughter off at camp. Hooked up with the CO at said camp and got solid instructions and hint. Off hunting I went and found something that could been bits of the cache. But no cache found to log again 3rd time not a charm for me tonight. ....
Hagar had been working in Christchurch since Thursday last week, and Helga joined him this Thursday to spend the weekend sightseeing and caching.
On Sunday we headed north-west, up to Arthur's Pass. The weather was nice when leaving Christchurch, but once up in the mountains it got cold and windy and it also rained on and off.
On the way back to Christchurch we didn't find this cache, no matter how we crawled around.

Spend around 20mins trying to find it :/ we will come back soon to try again. Not sure where the 'v' is either.

After an hour and a half drive we arrived at our first cache for the day. Then we realised that we had been here before when the "Home away from Home" was still here. It is gone now so the cache was much easier to find.
Lucky find as not sure the clues helped much. We don't use a GPS so rely on good clues, didn't take too long though and a beautiful day to be out. TFTC.
Great day out caching, one of many found, foggy start, but soon came out hot. - Bitsprayer

7 searchers and finally had success. Great one. Kids were up and down all sorts of trees. Great disguise for container. Well blended to bark.
Didn't find it. A fairly desultory effort to be fair. I'd been up on the mountain tops and a bit tired, getting cold, late in day, blowing like the devil and I gave up. Feeble effort on my part.
Next time I shall get it.

Found pretty quickly in a deserted area. Thanks for the cache.

Sorry looked and looked for about twenty minutes, climbed trees crawled under trees and scrabbled around the concrete.
No luck

Went for a climb, then back tracked, looked in there, up there and round there. Then checked the clue and had another look in there. Smiley!

Quick easy find on my way out to rescue some mates with car problems after a practise coast to coast paddle. Thanks for the hide.
Found this one during our drive around the Canterbury region chasing some caches. Tftc.
Found orginally as part of phasevisitor team, now created own account, re-logging as yorkshirekiwi83.
After flying into Christchurch today and visiting Banks Peninsula, we then headed out to Arthurs Pass and found this cache along the way. Didn’t take us too long to find this one, TFTC!

#6818. Spotted quickly (bit of luck if the number of DNF's is anything to go by!). This was a relief, as I didn't fancy searching GZ high and low for a micro. TFTC.
Yew trees can be tricky to search but luckily the cache was in the first spot StreetWalker looked. Nicely camoed container. TFTC.
Second attempt here after a DNF last visit. the tree has certainly had a haircut since I were here last. Found cache on the ground so have put it back where I think it should be. TFTC.
Aaaggghh! I stayed at the camp across the road for a family reunion last Boxing Day. Do you think I checked for caches in the area? No. No I did not.
Biked up from Christchurch to have another go at finding this cache.
Home away from home has gone, the little hut is no longer there. Whether the winds have sent it on its way I dont know. As for the cache we still coudnt find it. Biked to the pie shop and then headed home.

Well this was going to be an interesting search from description and logs. Called in on way home from West Coast in drizzle to give it a go and with help of non caching mate as he has a better head for this type of search than me. However I located it pretty much straight away. TFTC SL.
Last find on our way home from an event. Somewhat surprised at the location. An obvious hideout for some locals. Cache safe and in good order. TFTC
Used old logs to find it, after much fruitless searching. Just didn't look hard enough in the spot I first thought it would be!
No luck for us today. Not to say it is not there we just have cache blindness in some cases.
Awesome wee hut, found by theroamingreliever while I was looking elsewhere tftc
Had a quick look on the was back from an afternoon in the snow at Castle Hill. Too cold to linger too long in the freezing twilight. Next time.
Heading home from a windy but fun family adventure to Castle Hill rocks. Wee dudes had fun clambering around and throwing things into the water race. Took a committed search to net the cache. Cheers.
Swung past for another look at this one but the junior woodchucks were in residence and doing somthing right beside GZ.
Next time.....
Cheers,

Well glad to finally get this one off my list, I have had a couple of shots at it and this time I finally got it. A tricky wee hide. TFTC. Cheers Bo
5043. On a three day geocaching trip around Mid-Canterbury. This was cache number eight on the first day. Took quite a lot of searching around the home but found it in the end. Thanks, Rodney and Iris.
Found it together with Team Autoværn on our New Zealand tour back in 2013.

GPS kept pointing me to a newly built fort the kids have made. I couldn't find the 'v' or the cache
An intriguing little hideaway. It took a while to locate the cache, after initially looking in the correct place, but not thoroughly enough. TFTC

Third one of the day... main purpose of this trip was to finally find a cache in the one and only region in NZ I had never cached in - the West Coast. And to hopefully let the cache I find on the West Coast be the West Coast CANZ... A great day for it too!!
SUCH AN AWESOME WEE SPOT!!! Had so much fun exploring it and looking through it!! I would have absolutely never wanted to leave this place had I been here as a kid!! I love things like this!! And looks like they have some pretty strong defences here - found a water gun at GZ! Haha.
Cache was surprisingly quick for location. I think it's the good hint!

A quick find on another superb Canterbury geoday. In the 2nd spot I checked.
Thanks for placing this cache!

Very clever, there were quite a few v's and when we stopped and thought about it, the cache was then found. Great spot too!!!
Last time Heafudd M was passing he couldn't get at this because of weather damage. Today success. Some children have used the cut and broken branches to make a decent fortification so we also found 2 water pistols which I'm sure they have fun ambushing their mates with. But beware as you wouldn't see them until it was too late!
Easy find once I figured out to enter the tree hut, even some weapons there for a water fight. TFTC

An awesome wee hut for kids at GZ. Creek running quite high at present. Cache took a few minutes to find - tough wee hide. TFTC

Local kids have made a great fort around the cache so it's well protected. Watch out for their water pistols TFTC.
Our 3rd visit here and this time was lucky. I had picked though previous logs for some clues as to the whereabouts but when we got there we didnt end up needing them. It has certainly changed alot since our first and even our second attempt not that long ago (I hope it wasnt geocachers who have done that to the poor tree) Cache was a quick find. TFTC
Relogging this under individual account, previously a member of Gaz'n'Kab account.
Ahhh what a cool place this has turned out to be A quick find in the end once we decided to head in to take a look [^]

Queensland Mega Event - www.qldmega.com
Typical for us Wombles, there is always someone closeby.Today two Electricians pulled up just as we were walking over to GZ.We must have looked quite odd,two olddies, going in there, found it quickly then stood and looked at the Stream. They set about their buisness ,so we high tailed out of there.TFTC
Big congratulations to whoever had the ability and time to pull this together. Should have taken longer to find this one but got lucky with a guess of where it may be. Well placed cache.
Really cool. On the way to a west coast trip after attending Mega. Beautiful scenery today.
Journeying through NZ on our first international geocaching adventure making our way to the NZ Mega at Dunedin. Heading to the west coast today.
What a lovely tree house, built by nature. If only these trees could speak, I bet there's many a tale to tell.
