I picked this one up many times over. I had a very good idea what I shouldn't do, but not so lucky with nailing down what I should do. Ended up using a PAF as it was the closest to home unsolved and this streak is getting harder each day! Not sure how I missed attempting this solution in my list of ideas but sometimes its the simplest things that go unnoticed. Trekked out in a dress and ugg boots in the dark and made the find quite quickly. Tftc!

Chwiliwr and I decided to head north for some more smileys but it turned out to be a disappointing day with the caches not been maintained or just not there.

Chwiliwr had solved this years ago but we must have missed logging this. Happy to find it today.

Thanks to all cachers for placing their cache for us to find.

It took me forever to solve this one and then wasn't in the area until today. Terrain was a bit trickier than I expected but I was glad to eventually make then find. TFTC The Machman

This puzzle has stumped us for ages so we sought a hint from a friend.
A two word hint and another look and it all became clear.
A clever puzzle and a quick find at GZ.
TFTC The Machman this is find # 9853 for us.

Thanks The Machman for placing and maintaining this cache. Out and about with Barnzy12 getting a few smily faces.

Morning caching run with Cravo10 to cleanup a bunch of caches in the Northern suburbs. Started off early in the central business district before venturing north all the way past Banksia Grove. Had a few walks in today near Whiteman Park and the Gnangara pines. Looking forward to heading back here with Cravo’s newly acquired 4wd.

Thanks to the local COs for the fun.

I have had this puzzle in my"solved basket" for years. We should not have waited to make the find, although in our defence it is 85 kms from home. A fire has gone through recently (we could still smell it) and the cache has gone. We have placed a temporary replacement to keep it alive & messaged the CO. Have a favourite for being a part of our great day out NOR. Thanks The Machman

Solved this puzzle awhile ago, in fact this is my second time here, This time I managed to find the cache a little worse for wear. tftc

Well I wish I could say that I found it but, no luck today, have been in contact with the most recent finder and hopefully it will be were they put it.

As one of the closest unfound puzzles to home, we picked this one up one quiet evening and spent way too long trying out theories but never got the green light. It was only after a bit of a puzzle solving seminar with a fellow cacher did we get enough of a nudge to solve it (or did they just tell us how, I can't remember now!) Fast forward many moons and Mr. O. finally got a chance to come and get it while out this way picking up something that had fallen off his bike (long story). After parking it was a bit of a stomp through the bush and then a minute spent focussed on the wrong thing entirely, but a quick find thereafter. The container is looking a bit sunburnt so I have covered it up as much as I can given its location. Someone clever once said there is nothing new under the sun, and this puzzle and cache is more evidence of the truth of that saying...thanks for the pain and the pleasure.

Unlike most other mystery caches I attempt I was lucky to solve this one quite quickly. I wasn't so lucky when I arrived at GZ though as I kept looking in the wrong spot before finally changing my thinking and eventually putting my hands on the cache. Thanks for the puzzle and the hide TM.

The Machman for his Frivolous Fish.

Loved it. Thanks Machman

Out with Mistraluna for a trip into the country along the tourist drive. We were able to blend the new series in with some good pre-existing caches.

This was definitely our cache of the day. Very, very funny. Thanks Machman

We had solved this puzzle shortly after it was published but don't often get out this way. Decided to make a day of caching in the area with iluvtrekking so we could finally visit gz. Certainly is a very frivolous fish! Thanks the Machman.

Another good Machman puzzle and cache. Thanks TMM.

On a puzzle scavenging hunt today, trying to clear the backlog of the solved ones, and managed to find 18 of them. This was the penultimate one - number 17 - and I really stuffed this one up.

I had tried to solve this one on and off for ages now, but got nowhere fast, despite some obscure hints from the CO. I finally got a big shove in the right direction and it all came together. However, despite putting the correct coords on the web page, somehow the incorrect ones got put into GSAK, and I ended up spending an hour of precious daylight searching a very prickly patch of bushland nearly 3km north of the proper GZ. Eventually I checked with a previous finder as to what I should be looking for and became fearfully suspicious I might be at the wrong spot, as there was no where that such an item could have eluded me here. So then rechecked workings and found where I stuffed up. So back to the car, back to proper GZ, and cache was found within seconds of arrival!

Thanks for a most frustrating but very clever puzzle and a fun cache (in the end!), The Machman.

Although I have had the final co-ords for some time I had neglected to grab it until this morning

I needed quite a lot of help to solve this cache, which was driving me mad! As I had the final coords on me, this was definitely on my to do list for today, although it was quite a long way from anywhere, and was getting dark and late by the time I got up here.

I made my way into GZ carefully, and was a bit surprised at what I found nearby. The history of Machman hides flashed through my mind, and I was hoping this was going to be a quick find, without too many red herrings... And it turns out it was! Smile

Thanks for the puzzle and the cache Machman!

Many thanks to The Machman. Had me beaten and stumped with this one. Hope to return the favour one day.

Well well well.

Im almost speechless (almost) at how mad and frustrated WE got trying to solve this puzzle.

Especially as has so often happened for us, we got the hardest part within hours of it's publication! [:(!]

OMG, Do you think we could get any further than that! Well with some pokes, prods and outright ......ummm... abuse? We finally get to log a find!

I am still racking my brain because I am certain someone has mentioned a similar puzzle to me previously but I still cannot make the connection.

With the right bait on the hook it didn't take Mr Felix long to catch the cache at GZ. Now you know that old nice caching log line, that goes, "Keep em coming" well forget it. That is more than enough puzzles to drive US stupid. Keep them nice awesome amazing camo's that also drive us stupid but at least we can revisit GZ 7 times and eventually come up with a cache....um... well maybe?

Had this one solved a couple of days soon after it was published and turns out was first to solve. Couldnt resist adding a smiley face icon to the listing to get others to keep plugging away at it. Turns out it was solved again soon after. Well done SR.

The question has been raised "Would I drive from the deep south to find it?"
Sure. But not for a couple of months when I was to next be in Perth.

Drove on over after the IGD event and a few other caches made the find. These containers seem to be making a bit of an appearance in the metro area. This would have to be my third one within the last 50 or so finds.

TFTC and puzzle Machman.

This puzzle drove me balmy. I knew it had to be simple and I had all the pieces but everything I tried just didn't work.

I emailed the Machman and he didn't tell me anything I didn't already know but he still managed to help me to solve the puzzle.

Today we went for a drive specifically to find the cache. Beautiful area of bush here but needs a few more caches don't you think?

A quick find at GZ.

Thanks for the puzzle and the hunt - but not for driving me balmy!

Woohoo, FTF at 8:10am!!

Well what a puzzle and cache, think I ended up spending 4-5hrs on and off trying to solve the blasted thing. Amazing how a puzzle can be so hard, yet so easy. Very nicely assembled puzzle Ade!

Was quite amazed I was able to get back to search 5 days later after DNF-ing it and still claim the FTF Smile

After confirming the GZ was correct with the CO, it was a pretty quick find second time around. And the cache was exactly what I though it would be, very apt.

My 555th find too!

Well done to MCFonz too for solving it an hour or so before me.

Didn't found

Well it looks like the puzzle was the easy bit after a 30min search of the GZI walk away empty handed.

Congratulations to McFonz for first to solve.
But will you drive from the deep South to find it?
