I do hate to DNF but after being scratched alive in the bush Came out with no luck after a good half hours search. Too many leaves? If GPS is spot on I was definitely in the right area.
Maybe its been buried under foliage since it hasn't been found in a while. Will be back!

It’s been a wee while since I first and subsequently looked for this cache, each time without any success. And, truth be told, I had not expected to be back looking for it today. However with HorsegirlNZ being at a school friends back down the road and with a dog wanting a further walk and not wanting to turn up uncooly early, I drove on to this cache to take a further look, at least until the light failed me completely.
Time (and gorse) has certainly reclaimed some of the rocks I’d previously searched around but placing more faith in my GPS I identified a tree which appeared to stand sentinel in the rough place I thought I might need to be.
Now how to get there?
A brief bush-bash ensued - the dog had no trouble - but I made it through to a place where I could stand and take in my surroundings. My initial target tree yielded nothing but as I retraced my steps I spied a nearly camouflaged container.
Yippee. That’s another nemesis cache I can check off and just in the nick of time. Now...how to get back?
Thanks SoBad

Hunted around a bit for this one, then had a think about it and soon made the find. tftc
Visited the area today for a Kayak Club & Forrest & Bird "cito" type event. Managed about 5 bags of rubbish and a large commercial oven in the section that TregearP and three others were covering.
This was one of three caches we found in the area. A bit of maintenance carried out by TregearP but nothing too significant.
Cheers and thanks for another SoBad cache.

Out this way with the local canoe club helping F&B with the annual rubbish collection, great to meet some new canoe / kayakers and an enjoyable morning picking up rubbish and exploring the shoreline. Nice to see the planting in the area coming along, TFTC log in pretty bad shape and cache had some water in the bottom, put in a replacement log and double bagged, TFTC.
Thanks to Tregearp and SJT_NZ for replacing the log. Their on the spot maintenance so we don't have to is much appreciated.
Took a wee while to find. Was easy though once I was well away from the road! Cheers.
Found on a long weekend up in Nelson/Marlborough, with family, friends, and caching. Ticks all my boxes!!
Thanks to all of the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

Yeeeeah... no idea where this one could be. There are a million plausible hidey holes within the search radius, and all the gorse around doesn't exactly make this a fun place to go scavenging around. A hint might be appreciated.
Also, based on the Find/DNF ratio of this cache, this one ranks among the top ten difficult to find in my personal statistics of 363 caches. I'd say this one deserves a Difficulty Rating for that.
The travelling fox is sad =u,u=

Spending a beaut w/e at Cable Bay and doing a few walks with a side of cache . Obviously sorting out Maori Pa Road! This area has really 'grown up' since we were last in the area. T SoBadFTC.
I took the low road while StickmanNZ took the high road approach, yep he got to it first, TFTC.
Finally found after much looking. 2nd time around. Tftc. -Log wet and cache wet...
mrs capperz, and nightowl19's holiday on the South Island is over which means a run to the airport at Nelson to get them home. We spent a pleasant morning in and around Nelson doing some of the sights; Cathedral, Tahuna beach, views from up above the beach and it was another great day weather-wise too. All good things must come to an end though and once they were safely up in the air and away I turned on the G P S and had a little look-see for a few before all the daylight deserted me.
Nice and dry here today so a Q E F for me

This took us longer than we thought it would to find but Miss Unichel who is visiting at this time found it for us around a slippery slope. TFTC
looked for a while, with 5 pair of eyes, up and down the hill, but couldn't spot it...might have to come back some other time...
Read the other logs and searched up higher for quite a while, found cache when we trusted the GPS. SL TFTC
Day Two: On holiday with tmann421 exploring the top of the South Island. Lots of geocaches found and adventures had in the collection of many a cache. Thanks to all the CO's for making this a thoroughly enjoyable trip.
I was right up the top when tmann called out 'found it'. Phew!

Located this baby on our way back out the way we came. A fair bit of scrambling around and best viewed from above as has been mentioned. Thanks for another one SoBad!
#8521. Took quite a while to track this one down; turned out to be a lot further up the slope than we were expecting. Easy to spot once I got high enough. We enjoyed chatting to a friendly muggle, and throwing a stick for his dog. TFTC.
Took a wee while to find as we made an assumption about the type of hide. StreetWalker finally tracked it down. Mighty pleased to be looking for this in dry weather as it wasn't at all slippery today - just had to watch ones footing on the steep bits.
We attracted the attention of a little papillon dog who was with his master across and down the road, so they both came across to say gidday. We enlightened him (master) on geocaching and talked about the area while throwing a stick for the dog (Kobi) to retrieve. The stick was nearly the length of the dog [:o)] but after a while it broke - too much throwing and retrieving, methinks. TFTC.

my first for the day a eary start before the VCC trails just up the road, no one around this time on a Sunday morning and a quick scramble up the bank
Yep it was true to name today, my feet went flying out from under me and now I have bruise on my behind! My pride was bruised as well, so I battled on to no avail, nowhere to be seen, but plenty of places it could have been.
Next time!

decided to test our luck, so carried on to this. A bit of a hunt was halted when "she" found herself flat on her back. No damage,a bit of a laugh, and the hunt continued. Found by luck rather than skill, as our gps was not quite in agreement here. thanks for the fun.
Took some finding and not where I had assumed it would be. Got there in the end though!! TFTC!!
No problems here today straight to it and out again before any traffic passed. I worked in the area a few years and it's always nice to drop in. Tftc
Climbed up the nice dry slope today. Hunted for a while. Lost confidence after reading previous logs. Called Ms M over from her wee nap in the car. By the time she had clambered up the bank and sussed out what to start looking for I put my hand on it. As one does. Looked back over the valley towards where last years carnage was. Not a lot to see these days. Only a few scars.

This one took us ages to track down as we tried to find it in all the "wrong" places. Eventually we looked in the right place and found the cache.
That hillside across the valley certainly has a few scars. Let's hope we don't see any more weather like that this summer. TFTC

A second attempt at this cache and this time success. I must have just been a metre or two away the first time I looked. No such shortfall today and finally my caching instincts seemed to turn back on and I went straight to it. Much relief. TFTC, Biggles.
Cache #245. Now funnily enough I found this the hardest of the three caches down this road. Perhaps if I'd referrred to the T rating first I would have been on to it sooner. TFTC
Nice straight forward find on this one. I had intended on doing the Cable Bay caches but had forgotten about the lambing restrictions so saw the slips close up for the first time on my way down to the bay today. That storm left its mark in so many ways over the wider nelson region. TFTC #3528
GPS not too accurate here but eventually Hazedarus found the required container and we got the log signed. This was one of the very few we found today that wasn't exposed and visible from some distance. TFTC.
Had a small run with Holymu in the area. I have never been up this road as far but caches beckoned. This one was a bit of a challenge with the GPS insisting it was where it wasn't. A search in ever widening circles did it. TFTC
Blew this one! Didn't realise co-ordinates had been changed, but don't think it would have made any difference as we looked under, around and in every feature within 50m of GPS reading. We shall return.
Coordinates changed from:
S 41° 10.343 E 173° 26.317
Coordinates changed to:
S 41° 10.345 E 173° 26.313
Distance from original: 22.2 feet or 6.8 meters.
Return visit to check and coordinates slightly altered.

not much slipping or sliding today thank goodness.

I arrived. I left. I came back. I Looked again. I left again. I saw a familiar face down the road. Thought to myself two sets of eyes should be able to find the sod. Thanks to sidewaze for all the help. Joint FTF TFTC

Ran into ricklc on the way to this cache. Seems he'd had a spot of bother, so I had to show him how it was done. Had to agree that the coordinates weren't quite perfect - - but there weren't that many places to look. Thanks for the joint FTF and the FDF
Oops. Finders feel free to log better coords. A hint would be stating the obvious so no point really.
OH dear, just could not find the enthusiasm or give the time to slither along the row.....the just passed heavy rain shower did not help.....so...number 2...
