Out with Cirrus_WA and I C Nothing (plus a geokid) for a roadtrip exploring the hills. Love the variety of caches found throughout the day!
As the summer break neared its end and the impending return to work loomed, the allure of a geocaching escapade became irresistible. Embarking on the journey were I C Nothing, monkeywand, and myself, with our sights set on the Wandoo series along Brookton Hwy. Our ambitious route extended further, promising stops in the charming towns of Beverly and York. The day commenced with an early morning start, as we gathered supplies and eagerly ventured into the hills. A personal mission added an extra layer of excitementI aimed to achieve my 8000th geocaching find. The morning unfolded with a series of successful park and grab discoveries along the relatively quiet highway, contributing significantly to our tally. As the afternoon sun cast its warm glow across the picturesque Western Australian landscape, our focus shifted to acquiring needed attributes and exploring caches nestled within the towns we passed. With the sun setting on our caching odyssey, we triumphantly returned to Perth, having amassed a pleasing total of 55 cache finds, 6 adventure labs collected, and encountered the challenge of a single elusive DNF. Thanks AlliedOz for placing Wandoo Series - Scarlet Banksia for me and others to find.I added my name to the log at 09:11 on 28/1/2024.This is find number 7985 for me.
Monkeywand, I C Nothing, and. Cirrus_wa are on a road trip to Beverley collecting caches in the area that we are yet to attempt. Thanks to all the COs for the cache placements as it made an enjoyable day.
Spend the night camping out in the wandoo to find some more caches on new years day, easy find, TFTC
Doing some of the Wandoo series with goingplaces2. Found all we looked for, but some were quite hard to pick up. Enjoyed the hunt. TFTC.
Found this cache along with ilook4geo. This was an interesting run, as some of the containers had been buried by nature after not having found for nearly 10 months. All logs were signed and replaced as they had been found. Thanks go to AlliedOz for placing this cache.
Out and about enjoying the sunshine and wild flowers, my third find for the day. A nice hide, almost missed it TFTC
First clear day in a while so thought it was time to knock off more of the Wandoo series. I especially enjoy these as I love the bush. I found all but one that I set out to do today.
I think one more big day and I will finish this series.
Thanks AlliedOz for placing these caches. There was such a varied style of hide and cache types - which kept me on my toes.
( sorry for the generic logs - but I need to keep rolling! )

I made a start on the Wandoo series this afternoon. Brookton Highway is a pleasure to cache along, so few cars and trucks compared to Albany and SWH. I found 17 caches with most caches in good nic. Great move putting them all on the north side of the road.
Quick one here again. I’m enjoying the park and grabs.

Out and about clearing up a few more of the Wandoo series. Luckily there wasn't too much traffic today. Most of the caches were easily found but some were a little wet. I have replaced or added paper the the worst ones, TFTC
Finally got around to starting this part of the Wandoo series. Persuaded the part muggle, part "sort of interested in caching" parents to come for the drive (Dad drove while Mum & I yelled "stop!" every 500 mts or so).
Attempted 14 caches but because I'm a lazy geocacher and only search with an iPhone, I only found 9 and DNF'd 5.
All caches found were in great condition.
Thanks AlliedOz for your part in this great series.

Out for a maintenance run on my section of the Wandoo series today, A nice day for a drive and as we had time, plus a few empty caches we stopped in at all 30 of them if they were marked NM or not.
Cache was replaced due to a fire, now ready to be found.

Did not find this one. I think that maybe a fire has taken it out. Thanks anyway.
See Wandoo Series - Common Cats Paw, for more information.
I arrived at GZ very quickly but didn't notice the cache. I walked around for a while before returning to my original spot and the laughed when I saw it. TFTC

Up and out about early with Neva2old to claim a few smileys, we headed out to make a start on the Wandoo Series and any that jumped out along the way. After a quick search this cache was soon in hand and a smiley claimed TFTF
Up and out about early with Parkacruz to claim a few smileys, we headed out to make a start on the Wandoo Series and any that jumped out along the way. After a quick search this clever cache was soon in hand and a smiley claimed. We managed 109 finds & 7 DNFS for the day TFTF
This one took a couple of minutes, but I put my thinking cap on and made a relatively quick find. TFTC #614

*Out and about letting my GPS be my guide*...
A fine sunny but cool day to be out and about. Parked nearby and strolled to GZ. Most of the series were **Park n' Grabs** but some gave me more issues. . Managed to grab 29 today with 2 DNF's . Nice straight forward find here.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment AlliedOz. Appreciate your effort.
Greetings from Victoria.

Our group started this series on a hot Australia Day, but finally had a chance to come back today to finish the trail of smileys. There are still three to be found, but overall we are happy with efforts! Today's weather was a bit kinder to the group and we had a great time - split into two groups of kids vs adults to see who would have the most finds at the end of the day, and I'm happy to report that us adults won! Thanks for the effort that has gone into creating and maintaining this series!
This was also a dnf last time. Today I walked straight past the location and even pointed out the GZ hiding spot, without realising the cache was there - geobrother found it soon later and had a nice laugh at my expense - nevertheless - adults 2 finds, geokids 0.

We began this series with muskcat83 and janssej back on australia day in scorching 41°C! We finally made it back today in 17°C temperatures. Tftc
A bit tricky this one, but thanks to ELH77's eagle eye we found after a few minutes of searching. TFTC Allied Oz:)
My only dnf for the day if I don't include the two wandoo bird caches destroyed by fire. Always here for the next trip though.
Monts decided today was a good day for geocaching as he wanted uninterrupted napping, due to keeping me awake most of the night. TFTC AlliedOz
Loved this one, a bit different from what we had expected, so nice to find and gave us a bit of a lift. Good job AlliedOz and "helper".
Thank you! Out for a caching day with papillon367, Photo-play and Bindi01. After a warm-up with the Cascades series, we headed off to do a couple of sections of the Wandoo series. We ended up finding all of the trees (bar one that was disabled) and all of the animals, and a few of the birds too. Thanks again to all of the CO's for placing and maintaining these caches. I hope to be back to complete the series soon.
Found it. TFTC AlliedOz. Teamed up with Ullyssia, Papillon367 and Bindi01 to do part of the Wandoo series. Really great walk and drive through this area.
Teamed up with ullyssia, Photo-Play and Papillon367 again for a full day of caching.
Another quick find also. All ok
Thank you for the hide AlliedOz

Teamed up with ullyssia, Photo-Play and Bindi01 for a full day of caching, the biggest so far for all of us! We started by a walk to pick up the Cascades series, then we continued onto the Wandoo series. We found all the flowers (except one not in play), a few of the birds and all the animals, plus a few extras, ending up with 82 finds for the day. This was our 6th Wandoo cache and a quick find. Thank you for the hide AlliedOz and for the series – nice choice of themes and great concept to have multiple owners.
A call went out and a plan was hatched to tackle the Wandoo series. Very early this morning we joined forces with WebblyWA to see how we would fair and with the expectation that it would be good to complete at least half the series. We started and just cached, cached and cached finishing 11.5 hours later with 138 finds and the series completed apart from one that is temp disabled. Had a great day and a huge thanks to the CO's and those that maintain the series. Sorry for the mostly generic logs.
Replaced the log on this sneaky hide.
TFTC AlliedOz this is find # 1602 for us

January's challenge mission for me was to collect at least 300 caches. Knowing I could get almost half way there with one series, I put out a call to see who would like to join me on an epic WANDOO day and Team Fratra was up for it so plans were made. We met up early collecting the first cache at 6.45am. Completing the series 11 and a half hours later, with No DNFs and only one glitch left on the map of a cache that is currently disabled. My total for the day finished up with a few extras at 140 as darkness, wind and rain set in.
It was a wonderful day and we had great weather for the majority of the day. Massive thanks to the COs and everyone that has put work into maintaining the series.
Cache #6 We have replaced the log on this one and I have the old one if you want it back. Needs maintenance attribute should be removed as all is good now

Found the black nano of “Wandoo Series – Scarlet Banksia”. Log sheet is full; photo log to CO. TFTH AlliedOz.
Out on the road with Lazarus_68, Have decided it was time to complete the Wandoo series of caches, having found 16 in the series some time ago. So today we started at the beginning and continued on until time ran out. (other commitments).
We started fairly late in the morning and finished early in the afternoon, so will have to come back another day to finish off the series. Scarlet Banksia was found at 11:03 and was the 6th cache found out of 41 in total for the day. All caches were easy to find, Thanks for the cache AlliedOz.
Note there is only one space left in the log book so it will need replacing very soon.

Out on an adventure with oshiel and jjjzellis today to start the Wandoo series working our way along the Brookton Highway. TFTC and the series!! Very sneaky hide - needs a new log, only 2 spaces left.
Found it should have been an easy find really except my gps kept having fits and spinning around so I don't know why it was so hard lol. Kind of obvious when you think about it lol
Heading home to Albany from Perth thought we would take the scenic route and grab a few caches to get our numbers up a bit and fill the day in a bit this was our find #311 and #6 for the day.
(sorry for generic log)

Due to the +40 heat predicted today, The Wandoo series was highest on the geocaching list. This was due to being mostly park and grab, therefore it was 50/50 between air conditioning and searching.
Had a great day and really enjoyed it with over 100 finds and a couple of DNF's. Lots of variety in this leg, Thanks for your effort AlliedOz

With a week touring around Perth, some time obviously had to be made for caching out here on the west coast. I started the day off slowly today with some short hikes, and then by lunchtime had decided to attempt a solo 100-caches-in-day.
Dodged a few spiderwebs to get to this one.
This was #98 of 105 today (DNFs = 3 so far).
Thanks for placing this cache, AlliedOz, and thanks to all the COs who set out the Wandoo series.

Originally found under family caching name "clan-wallace". Geohubby wants his own caching name, so I get to re log them for him!
Day 1....Well it was only half a day really as we set off from home at 1 p.m. after geohubby's morning on the golf course. Our aim was an all out assault of the Wandoo series. I had printed out all of the record sheets and these were a great help, although 2 are missing from the sheets 'Acetamide' & 'Gravel'. We achieved all 30 of the 'Trees' before running out of light & hightailed to our accommodation at a farm stay between Beverley & York, which would lead to a bit a back tracking over coming days. All of these caches are very well maintained and thoughtfully placed, allowing safe places to pull off the road. Thank you for your part of the series Allied Oz.
Out with krabiboy today picking up as many of the series today it was a great start to the series and really enjoyed it can't wait to get out and finished it. TFTC
Caught up with Loudy16 to head out and attempt to finish off my Wandoo Series today. I messaged Allied Oz a few days before to see if he wanted any maintenance done, and he decided to join us for the adventure. Great day out on the trails with all remaining Wandoo caches found. A massive thanks to all of the COs involved in making this series happen. TFTC AlliedOz
5th find on the trail today. Stoked for a quick find of the micro. Thanks for the cache AlliedOz
On a mission to dispose of a death adder today, I decided to grab a few Wandoo caches and some others as well. Just did eight of them to bring my Wandoo tally up to 12! All were found quickly. Found a bit of variety in the eight that I did today and looking foward to doing some more in the future ... might even finsh the series one day.
Pulled up near GZ, spotted something before I got of the car and correctly guessed exactly the type and location of the hide here. Funnily enough, I expected to be wrong though.
SL. Thanks for the hide AlliedOz

I really want to finish off this series I started at the beginning of the year with my Aunty and Uncle, so I decided to go out with a Mate and finish off the last 35 caches or so in the series. Most were quite easy to find. TFTC
For the past few months, Kyzabra and I have been trying to find a day to tackle this series. Fortuitously it ended up coinciding with the last blank day my geocaching calendar.
We met up at 6am at the Rock Inne Tavern and worked our way around the series. By the time we found the final puzzle cache it was 5pm ... for me it was 147 finds (and yes I found 3 more on the way home) ... I couldn't miss getting 150 in a day when I was that close . Oh, and only 1 DNF for the day. What's a day of geocaching without at least 1 DNF! [:o)]
Thanks to the 4 CO's who put this series together and keep it going. TFTC.
