Out with Cirrus_WA and I C Nothing (plus a geokid) for a roadtrip exploring the hills. Love the variety of caches found throughout the day!
As the summer break neared its end and the impending return to work loomed, the allure of a geocaching escapade became irresistible. Embarking on the journey were I C Nothing, monkeywand, and myself, with our sights set on the Wandoo series along Brookton Hwy. Our ambitious route extended further, promising stops in the charming towns of Beverly and York. The day commenced with an early morning start, as we gathered supplies and eagerly ventured into the hills. A personal mission added an extra layer of excitementI aimed to achieve my 8000th geocaching find. The morning unfolded with a series of successful park and grab discoveries along the relatively quiet highway, contributing significantly to our tally. As the afternoon sun cast its warm glow across the picturesque Western Australian landscape, our focus shifted to acquiring needed attributes and exploring caches nestled within the towns we passed. With the sun setting on our caching odyssey, we triumphantly returned to Perth, having amassed a pleasing total of 55 cache finds, 6 adventure labs collected, and encountered the challenge of a single elusive DNF. Thanks AlliedOz for placing Wandoo Series - Bridal Rainbow for me and others to find.I added my name to the log at 09:44 on 28/1/2024.This is find number 7993 for me.
Monkeywand, I C Nothing, and. Cirrus_wa are on a road trip to Beverley collecting caches in the area that we are yet to attempt. Thanks to all the COs for the cache placements as it made an enjoyable day.
Spend the night camping out in the wandoo to find some more caches on new years day, easy find, TFTC
Found this cache along with ilook4geo. This was an interesting run, as some of the containers had been buried by nature after not having found for nearly 10 months. All logs were signed and replaced as they had been found. Thanks go to AlliedOz for placing this cache.
Doing some of the Wandoo series with goingplaces2. Found all we looked for, but some were quite hard to pick up. Enjoyed the hunt. TFTC.
Out and about enjoying the sunshine and wild flowers, so happy to be able to turn this into a smiley, I don’t know how I missed it last time TFTC
First clear day in a while so thought it was time to knock off more of the Wandoo series. I especially enjoy these as I love the bush. I found all but one that I set out to do today.
I think one more big day and I will finish this series.
Thanks for placing these caches. There was such a varied style of hide and cache types - which kept me on my toes.
( sorry for the generic logs - but I need to keep rolling! )
Ok so I will admit I went in a lil anxious after seeing the dnfs before me. Time was not on my side as I still had a heap to do before the sun went down. I walked up to GZ and Id like to say it was skill - but I think I better keep it real and say that l just got lucky with this as I spotted it straight away. Tinny bum me! Yayy! Thanks AlliedOz this could have been a real tricky one!

The GPS was a bit all over the place; had a look in some more obvious places but need to continue my journey
I made a start on the Wandoo series this afternoon. Brookton Highway is a pleasure to cache along, so few cars and trucks compared to Albany and SWH. I found 17 caches with most caches in good nic. Great move putting them all on the north side of the road.
I took a few minutes looking around. I went to GZ straight away but then wandered off. Eventually I made it back to uncover the tricky hide.

Finally got around to starting this part of the Wandoo series. Persuaded the part muggle, part "sort of interested in caching" parents to come for the drive (Dad drove while Mum & I yelled "stop!" every 500 mts or so).
Attempted 14 caches but because I'm a lazy geocacher and only search with an iPhone, I only found 9 and DNF'd 5.
All caches found were in great condition.
Thanks AlliedOz for your part in this great series.

Out for a maintenance run on my section of the Wandoo series today, A nice day for a drive and as we had time, plus a few empty caches we stopped in at all 30 of them if they were marked NM or not.
Log replaced now all dry and blank.

Nice sneaky hide. Hadn't been found for a while so didn't like my chances. Log in need of a bit of TLC. Otherwise all good! TFTC

A relatively quick find here. Quite clever. I thought to prod around something that could be a potential host and BAM!! TFTC #625
Up and out about early with Neva2old to claim a few smileys, we headed out to make a start on the Wandoo Series and any that jumped out along the way. After a quick search this cache was soon in hand and a smiley claimed TFTF

A fine sunny but cool day to be out and about. Parked nearby and strolled to GZ. Most of the series were **Park n' Grabs** but some gave me more issues. . Managed to grab 29 today with 2 DNF's . This one took a bit longer but then the *Do'oh* moment.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment AlliedOz. Appreciate your effort.

Monts decided today was a good day for geocaching as he wanted uninterrupted napping, due to keeping me awake most of the night. TFTC AlliedOz
Had a bit of fun finding this one, just another example of AlliedOz putting a bit of thought into and variety to the caches. Thans so much for setting up the series. We look forward to our return visit. Shame we had to rush off home to an appointment early this afternoon.
Spent aus day caching with muskcat83 and janssej and kids. Thanks for the series. Will be back to finish
Met up with ctvanderlinden and muskcat83 for the day in search of my 1000th find. Needed 52 to achieve this goal - we ended up with 101 for the day! It was a warm Australia Day, but a great way to spend the day in the bush, seeing kangaroos, wallaby's and even a race horse goanna! Thanks heaps for the series - we'll be back at some point to finish it off i'm sure!

Thank you! Out for a caching day with papillon367, Photo-play and Bindi01. After a warm-up with the Cascades series, we headed off to do a couple of sections of the Wandoo series. We ended up finding all of the trees (bar one that was disabled) and all of the animals, and a few of the birds too. Thanks again to all of the CO's for placing and maintaining these caches. I hope to be back to complete the series soon.
Found it. TFTC AlliedOz. Teamed up with Ullyssia, Papillon367 and Bindi01 to do part of the Wandoo series. Really great walk and drive through this area.
Teamed up with ullyssia, Photo-Play and Papillon367 again for a full day of caching.

Teamed up with ullyssia, Photo-Play and Bindi01 for a full day of caching, the biggest so far for all of us! We started by a walk to pick up the Cascades series, then we continued onto the Wandoo series. We found all the flowers (except one not in play), a few of the birds and all the animals, plus a few extras, ending up with 82 finds for the day. This was our 14th Wandoo cache and a quick find. Thank you for the hide AlliedOz and for the series – nice choice of themes and great concept to have multiple owners.
A call went out and a plan was hatched to tackle the Wandoo series. Very early this morning we joined forces with WebblyWA to see how we would fair and with the expectation that it would be good to complete at least half the series. We started and just cached, cached and cached finishing 11.5 hours later with 138 finds and the series completed apart from one that is temp disabled. Had a great day and a huge thanks to the CO's and those that maintain the series. Sorry for the mostly generic logs.

January's challenge mission for me was to collect at least 300 caches. Knowing I could get almost half way there with one series, I put out a call to see who would like to join me on an epic WANDOO day and Team Fratra was up for it so plans were made. We met up early collecting the first cache at 6.45am. Completing the series 11 and a half hours later, with No DNFs and only one glitch left on the map of a cache that is currently disabled. My total for the day finished up with a few extras at 140 as darkness, wind and rain set in.
It was a wonderful day and we had great weather for the majority of the day. Massive thanks to the COs and everyone that has put work into maintaining the series.

Out on the road with Lazarus_68, Have decided it was time to complete the Wandoo series of caches, having found 16 in the series some time ago. So today we started at the beginning and continued on until time ran out. (other commitments).
We started fairly late in the morning and finished early in the afternoon, so will have to come back another day to finish off the series. Bridal Rainbow was found at 11:48 and was the 14th cache found out of 41 in total for the day. All caches were easy to find, Thanks for the cache AlliedOz.

Out on an adventure with oshiel and jjjzellis today to start the Wandoo series working our way along the Brookton Highway. TFTC and the series!! obvious but clever hide.
At first I liked this cache and the I dropped part of it where I shouldn't have and spent 20 mins fishing it out with a coat-hanger. TFTC.
Heading home to Albany from Perth thought we would take the scenic route and grab a few caches to get our numbers up a bit and fill the day in a bit this was our find #319 and #14 for the day.

Due to the +40 heat predicted today, The Wandoo series was highest on the geocaching list. This was due to being mostly park and grab, therefore it was 50/50 between air conditioning and searching.
Had a great day and really enjoyed it with over 100 finds and a couple of DNF's. Lots of variety in this leg, Thanks for your effort AlliedOz

With a week touring around Perth, some time obviously had to be made for caching out here on the west coast. I started the day off slowly today with some short hikes, and then by lunchtime had decided to attempt a solo 100-caches-in-day.
This took me a while, but I trusted the co-ords and soon found the cache.
This was #90 of 105 today (DNFs = 3 so far).
Thanks for placing this cache, AlliedOz, and thanks to all the COs who set out the Wandoo series.

On a bit of a mission to pick up some FTFs on GCA caches today, I decided to do some Wandoo caches as well as a couple of other ones along the Brookton Highway. Added another 18 to my previous tally of 24 Wandoo caches to crack the 40. Started at Drumsticks and finished at Wispy Spider Orchid ... the latter being one that was in my sights for today.
Once again, I enjoyed the variety of hides on this terrific series and am kind of glad that I am savouring it rather than doing them all in one hit.
Logs are generic with exception of Wispy Spider Orchid which has some additional comments.
Thanks for the hide AlliedOz

Day 1....Well it was only half a day really as we set off from home at 1 p.m. after geohubby's morning on the golf course. Our aim was an all out assault of the Wandoo series. I had printed out all of the record sheets and these were a great help, although 2 are missing from the sheets 'Acetamide' & 'Gravel'. We achieved all 30 of the 'Trees' before running out of light & hightailed to our accommodation at a farm stay between Beverley & York, which would lead to a bit a back tracking over coming days. All of these caches are very well maintained and thoughtfully placed, allowing safe places to pull off the road. Thank you for your part of the series Allied Oz.
Out with krabiboy today picking up as many of the series today it was a great start to the series and really enjoyed it can't wait to get out and finished it. TFTC
Caught up with Loudy16 to head out and attempt to finish off my Wandoo Series today. I messaged Allied Oz a few days before to see if he wanted any maintenance done, and he decided to join us for the adventure. Great day out on the trails with all remaining Wandoo caches found. A massive thanks to all of the COs involved in making this series happen. TFTC AlliedOz
12th find on this glorious spring day on the trail. The cache was easily found but I had to go back to the car to grab a tool and soon had the log in hand. TFTC AlliedOz

I really want to finish off this series I started at the beginning of the year with my Aunty and Uncle, so I decided to go out with a Mate and finish off the last 35 caches or so in the series. Most were quite easy to find. TFTC
A big day had been in the planning fr sometime with Spatialriq and today it had finally arrived.
The goal was to complete the Wandoo series in a single day. An early start was arranged and we found our first cache at 6.01am. The last, the Bonus box. at 5.01pm Exactly 11 hours later.
A great day on the road and great company. All caches were found fairly quickly with spot on co-ords with the exception of one DNF.
A credit to the four cache owners on this series and the ongoing mantenance to keep it aliv. Well done.
This was cache number 3 out of 136 for today. Also our total find number 2875

For the past few months, Kyzabra and I have been trying to find a day to tackle this series. Fortuitously it ended up coinciding with the last blank day my geocaching calendar.
We met up at 6am at the Rock Inne Tavern and worked our way around the series. By the time we found the final puzzle cache it was 5pm ... for me it was 147 finds (and yes I found 3 more on the way home) ... I couldn't miss getting 150 in a day when I was that close . Oh, and only 1 DNF for the day. What's a day of geocaching without at least 1 DNF! [:o)]
Thanks to the 4 CO's who put this series together and keep it going. TFTC.

Just a few Caches of this PT on our way from Perth to Hyden. Unfortunately too little time to do the whole trail, so only a few legstretcher before my Muggel-Girl

What an awesome day! Megawat60 and I, along with Me&B, had a great time making a start on Wandoo Series. First up was Allied Oz's botanical caches. Here we found a variety of caches, some easy, some more difficult, and some very clever.
Thanks for this cache and this set in the Series, we found 30 and had a 100% success rate.

A family day out to start the Wandoo series. Beautiful spring weather, with plenty of wildflowers, birds and small reptiles seen.
Managed 48 caches before the geokids wanted to call it a day. Thanks to the amazing Cache Owners for their efforts in placing this series. We will definitely be back again to finish them all off.
Apologies for the generic logs.

A great series and much fun was had leap frogging from cache to cache down the highway. I'm very glad that there was 2 of us to tackle this as 1 could drive and sign the logs and the other played with the GPS. Great Day!! Thanks for the series

We (BettyBoo3747 and I) have been travelling around the Perth suburbs for a couple of days, so we thought we would go east and have a look at the Wandoo Power Trail.
We started reasonably early (about 7:30) and finished about 3:30pm. We had completed about 80 caches in that time. (and morning tea, Elevenses. lunch. afternoon tea...)
Nice to see the variation in cache sizes (not too many of the dreaded nanos), hides (and some very cute containers), and walking distances (not just jumping in and out of the car).
Thanks to all the hiders (and maintenance people) for this great series.
We will return for the rest someday.
Thanks, Robmc.

# 6123. Robmc and I had an early start from Kensington this morning and I was surprised that it was only 15 degrees when we arrived to begin our run. We found the first cache at 7.35am and finished 8 hours later - having covered 140 km and searched for 80 caches. I say searched because we had 2 DNF's
I enjoyed the diverse scenery at each of the early stops we made. Had forgotten how bare the farmlands can get at this time of year once we progressed towards Beverley and York.
Enjoyed searching for the caches and of course had a few favourites - the cute ones and the scary one!! We have collected a lot of clues but don't know when we will be able to finish off the series.
Thanks AlliedOz
