In Mosgiel with rattll following GeoToroa Dunedin. I'd solved this puzzle as one of many prior to the Mega, so was very glad to be able to drop by GZ to pick it up. No problem finding. All well in the container. Signed, and returned as found. Tftc!
Having had a busy geocaching weekend in Dunedin, at the MEGA, matagouri and I are now continuing on with our holiday 'road trip'.I guess matagouri solved this as I dont remember it. But there it is solved and ready to find. So, find it we did! Thanks for setting this up
A nice straight forward puzzle to solve. I spotted the cache straight away whilst maplerosenz was waiting for her phone to settle down.
Visiting Dunedin for my first Mega Event, on tour with flossieteacake. Had a great time, despite the weather. We had all seasons: sunburn and (almost) frostbite!Great to catch up with caching friends, new and old, and to explore Dunedin in more depth.Thank you to all the COs for making their caches available after the recent floods and thanks to TeamOtago for all their work to ensure a successful Mega!TFTC, drawp ,';*={thanks}-*;', ,;:*(thanks}:*;*:{thanks}*:;, ,;{thanks}:;:*{thanks}:;:{thanks);, `;:{thanks};:{thanks}:;{thanks}:;' `*&;:{thanks}:;:{thanks},:;&*' `-+;:*{thanks}*:;+-` `-\\\||///-' __ \\||// __ / `------' \ | }-(______)-{ | \___/ |||| \___/ /_, |||| ,_\ \| |/
We are in Dunedin this weekend for the Mega with Stik-a-Crane, UncleSam, KeyLev, and NZTravellers. We have signed all logs as team SEAC to save space, especially as we know this weekend will be busy for all caches. We have landed, picked up the cars and the plane geoart and any other trads, multis, or puzzles we have solved are the targets for the day. We have had an amazing time and had very few DNF's for a very successful day with lots of laughs and memories made. TFTC
After completing the aeroplane series it was time to branch out and find some others 'on the way' into Dunedin. Thanks for the cache. Signed as Team SEAC (South East Auckland Crew)
Team SEAC consisting of HeMaLuDy, Stik-a-crane, UncleSam, Keylev and ourselves headed to Dunedin for the 2024 MEGA!All logs were signed as SEAC to save paper (except where specific signing requirements were requested)Thanks to all the CO's who had maintained the caches as we found a majority with fresh paper and containers!TFTC
Here for a fun weekend with friends from Auckland to attend the 2024 Mega. All logs signed SEAC as a group. Very sorry for the generic plain logs. Thanks to all cache owners for placing the caches.
We hatched a plan to make a road trip to otago and pick up a few caches. With Mosgiel putting on a beautiful day we set about finding caches with Annielin and mrshazzer, This one on my solved lists and to day it was time to find , quite fitting as we are trying to fu up our friends for outer space .so to day we complete the paperwork. Thanks gor the hide Getting out and about in to the out doors is my happy place so any excuse to go caching. As if I need an excuse aahhh nop I will go rain hail or snow so let's goooo and have as much fun and adventures as possible tomorrow may never come and we never know what tomorrow may hold for us all just do it Life is short. Live life one foot step at a time.Never say" I'm gonna "- Just do it!! Tomorrow may never come just grab Life by the horns , lets just go for it .Thanks for the hide tftc
Found with Dsi and Mrs Hazzer. Had solved this at home, and was good to learn all about space
A few days away caching with Nosynel. Out for a few night time caches. An easy find. Enjoyed the puzzle. Learned heaps. Thanks!#9827
???? We had dinner at the motel ??????? before heading out. ( Jude_E and I arrived in Mosgiel just before 6pm).We didn't want to find many. I think ?? we found 4 actual hides and a lab. Jude had solved this ?? puzzle ?? at ?? home. Thanks for hiding this cache drawp I appreciate it. ??
I learnt some new things about space doing this puzzle; never knew Alan Shepherd had tried golfing on the moon! TFTC; it was an easy find using the hint.
I finally got around to solving this puzzle - was a goodie and enjoyed it. Went out with the little one for a walk in the sunshine, parked her up in her buggy nearby and searched, and searched and searched. The hint threw me coz I searched up and down all magnetic things nearby - I must have looked a right weirdo. Anyway if someone can let me know if it’s still there I’ll return to sign it off. Hasn’t been spotted for a few months.
As the AO tennis had finished I was a little lost for something to do after dinner so I assembled my bike and went for an evening cyclocache ride before it got dark. There were this small series of caches along Silverstream and more in the neighbouring suburb so they formed an obvious target. I had solved this puzzle back in 2012 and had been waiting for the opportunity to sign it off. Tonight was the night. However, there are a couple of things wrong wth this cache. (1) The description describes a different container to that listed in the hint, and (2) this type of placement is now not permitted by GCHQ. It needs to be changed. Cheers
I was here today with a previous finder and it took us a while. Stopped for a sit down and then it was found quite quickly afterwards- so often the way of these things. Thanks drawp.
Have had this one solved for some time, but a prior search in the night was unsuccessful. Returned today and it was a nice quick find. TFTC
After completing the new plane geoart with StreetWalkerNZ, KiwiChris and Mrs KiwiChris, we headed back to base for lunch, but via a few solved puzzles.
Another long solved puzzle, and it sort of fitted the theme for this morning's expedition. I overshot the actual hiding place as I didn't think the cache would be hidden there (not realising how old this cache was) but SW soon sniffed it out. TFTC.

Knew I would be up here today to grab some of the green dots and maybe some orange ones, so looked at some of the question marks and thought this would be one I could figure. It was really enjoyable. I was surprised how much I did not know about space travel.
Thanks drawp, for all the interesting facts and a fun puzzle.

You would think there may be a sinister plot. Three Invercargillites in a row. Maybe we just like to get away from the rain at home.
Cache 735 ️ On an Impromptu caching trip with Wombats4 we decided a day trip to Mosgiel was the go so up we got in the frosty morning and made the trip up from Invercargill, it took a little while for the warm to come but Mosgiel put on perfect weather for us.
Solved of a previous puzzle solving spree I asked if we could stop for this one as Wombats had found it previously. Cache was a quick park and grab but I had to giggle when I signed the log as the last person to sign it was Wombats a couple of moths previously cache in great shape T4TP ️

After an overnight stay at the Brighton Domain catching up with fellow travellers, off on a trip back to caching around Mosgiel and along the way.
Solved this a while ago googling away. The final was a nicely hidden cache all good here. It's like a maze in the backstreets of this town! tftc

A great puzzle which I did a few days ago so I was very pleased to get this cache today. An easy find.
Wohoo thanks for replacing.
Needed to get out and go caching as its a lovely day. Decided to see if Eve07 was free and we headed out to sunny Siverstream and enjoyed walking around finding some new caches and avenging some of the blue faces.
======== NZ Mega 2020 ========
NZ Mega 2020 is definitely happening, but has been postponed until 2021. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 22 to 25 October 2021. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:
20+ years of geocaching worldwide.
20+ years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
All the 20s and now 21 as well!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of this event - you won't want to miss it!

Last night we parked up in our camper at Mosgiel A & P Showgrounds, and this morning are picking up some solved puzzle in the area. We enjoyed finding the answers to these interesting space questions, and soon had some coords tha fitted the checksums. Parked near GZ and the cache was a quick find, TFTC
Finally got around to checking this one out after diving the puzzle some time ago. Quickly located & signed the log. TFTC
Solved the puzzle and messed up the calculations while still getting the correct checksum! My final looked plausible on the map but not when I got there. Rechecked my maths and found my mistake. Log quickly found and signed at right GZ. Tftc
I knew I had an important video hui to attend today and thought it would take up most of the morning. However when I checked last night I found that it was actually scheduled for this afternoon. That meant I had the morning free after dropping my Grandson off at what he calls "school". This one took a bit of working through. Quick find after waiting for the dog walker to go past and get out of sight. TFTC # 13,911
....another puzzle, another day. Had no problems solving this one and always a pleasure to find caches by this CO. Easily located and although the log is a bit damp it is still writeable due to the waterproof paper. Thanks
Solved this puzzle months ago. Headed out to the Taieri with Frame Family on a beautiful Saturday morning. It has been a while since we’ve been able to get together. No trouble finding the cache at the final. Tftc
Great morning to get out with Kerynz for a long awaited caching session. Quick and easy find of the final. TFTC!
I solved this ages ago I think it was missing at the time. Then forgot every time I was out here.
But with The planetary pursuit challenge on it was a good opportunity.
But with The planetary pursuit challenge on it was a good opportunity.
Worked this out at home. Quick find of final once I read the hint instead of the 'about' blurb. Tftc
#216 thank goodness for the checksums, they really put me my place. Good little mystery, Wikipedia got a bashing, and on a miserable NYE got the find in the second place we looked. All is well at GZ, TFTC
Hmmm was that a conditioned response from the geochecker or did I nail the correct solution on the first try? Got resounding woot woot's and a couple of town puzzles got added to the pile for a return across the border. Waited for this one to be quickly replaced and picked up the new tin and log on passing. TFTC
Solved this one quite some time ago so glad to see it recently replaced. Arrived at GZ to see road workers nearby but managed to sneak in and find the cache without being noticed. TFTC
Thanks drawp for repositioning this cache back. Nice to have this mystery ticked off. TFTC drawp.
Thought I would go for this since the replacement came back a while back but yet again I can't find this cache. Scratched and poked around the SB tree but not for me this time again.
Nice to finish this one off. Spent a couple of early mornings at work getting it right, easy find at the end. TFTC
Well this one had me and Sirbennis googling stuff for a while till we got the correct info to complete this one. Must admit even with the problems we had it was still a fun cache to complete. TFTC
Thanks for the replacement. I got the numbers a bit wrong at first but then I figured out a location that made more sense. Thanks
Second time here and had a previous finder for this cache but we both couldn't find it.
Tried hard looking but unfortunately not tonight. Maybe harder by torchlight. A suspicious muggle keeping an eye out so thought I better leave it for now and come back another day.
I solved the puzzle long, long ago during a lunch hour at work. Finally today was the day to pick it up. I had a little wobble when my coordinates were a little off, but the hint brought me back down to earth, so to speak. We picked two locations and Hevic pointed at the one she thought most likely, which turned out to be correct. Thanks for the puzzle, cheers!
Completed the puzzle last night, though still cannot seem to get the sums correct. Anyway I took my answer for L and subtracted 1 and it seemed to fit. So I gave it a go - and by golly - I found it!! TFTC!
We were planning to walk along the Silverstream today so I looked at this puzzle and solved it last night. GZ was a pleasant detour from our original route and the dog appreciated the extra exercise.

Solved this puzzle years ago with Angry Walnut and Brontosaurusnz but couldn't find it. Had GZ right and tried again in August 2014 but still no luck. Out doing bus stop puzzle cache today and decided to try again. SUCCESS! New hint helped a lot. Thanks CO a real challenge for us but persistence paid off. TFTC
I also was one of the Wednesday walker but didn't look or sign the log as I didn't solve the puzzle due to a date wrong. It wasn't until it was pointed out to me that maybe the time difference in Russia might make a difference and add another day on. Came home and did this and solved it so back out today to sign the log.
Solved a long time ago, but only recently visited the area with the Wednesday Walkers. Sorry for delay on logging, had forgotten about it until I checked my Garmin.
TNLN. TFTC.

I spent some time on the internet this morning finding the answers to the questions but the sums didn't quite work out. I didn't have time for the fine tuning as I had to meet up others for our Wednesday walk. During the walk when some peeled off from the rest it was obvious what they were up to and I decided to watch and not hunt as I hadn't done the puzzle. Some of the hunters had found it in the distant past and when it became obvious that they were floundering I decided to have a poke around and I quickly revealed it and decided that I might as well log it and complete the puzzle later.
I had solved this one in preparation of ticking it off at the 2012 Mega but that wasn't to be but it has now.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
Worked out the clues last night and was feeling confident about grabbing the mystery cache for my diverse 5. Oh how over confidence is a cruel master. I am sure i was in the right place from reading past logs but as hard as I looked there was no luck. felt a little conspicuous rummaging around in a bush given the location so will try again later. 2 sad faces in a row.
Couldn't find it or even get close. While the checksums worked with the numbers we got the coordinates were for a paddock on private property behind Coalstage Road.
Solved the puzzle months ago. Check co-ords with Geocheck and all checks out. Been back to look three times without success. Is the final still there. Hint didn't seem to be of much help either. Would live some help on this one.
Quick find today after working the puzzle months ago with my good mate mr google. After I became less depmuts it all became clear and had my hand on it in no time. TFTC
Had solved this one awhile ago and had been unsuccessful looking for it - not so this time around as Aoraki Sheep had it in hand before I'd even gotten out of the car! Found with Aoraki Sheep.
I solved this one at work with the help of my friend Wikipedia, got the all clear with the co-ords , printed out a map of where I was going and then left all the information at work! Nevermind, my memory served correctly and we managed to find the cache with no GPS or map. Day 20 out of the 31 day challenge ticked off! TFTC & TFTP drawp.
This was one of 14 geocaches found while we were on our johnny goes caching trip. The first we have had in a while.
11th of 14 with a small number of the JGC caching crew. It's been far too long since we've been out...TFTC.
Sorted out the puzzle a while ago and did the "leg" work while spending a few days in Mosgiel.
My first puzzle cache done by myself it was fun so will have to try some more. Needs the pencil sharpened
Had solved a while ago (at least the geochecker says we had the right co-ords) and the co-ords took us to a likely looking spot, unfortunately we couldn't come up with the smiley.
Despite my best efforts I was still unable to come up with the exact numbers required. Pulled up with a previous finder and the cache owner closely supervising and made the discovery.
Thanks

I'm staying at the holiday park near the listed coords, so I thought I'd take a look and see if it was quick puzzle, and it was. Although I've always been a bit of a space nut, I did have to Google one or two answers. OK, maybe four or five. Or nine...
The GZ was a pleasant diversion on the way back from dinner in town.
There was a note in the log saying "OMG I found it on accident.", so it was nice to see a muggle who was kind enough to leave the container in place.

JustMeG was the solver for this puzzle so it was appropriate that she was also the finder amongst the pretty blossom trees before you head out into the great wild yonder.
Good timing - we stumbled across a couple of other cachers who kindly led us to the cache. Cheers Gav
TFTC. Justmeg located the cache in a pretty grove of cherry trees, she was also the solver of this puzzle.
Had some fun with this one first we worked and reworked all the figures - we just could not get geochecker to agree !!! put it away in disgust till we found that there had been a fault with geochecker - punched our numbers in and yay this time it agreed with us - so out this evening collecting a few puzzle caches and ended up here - hmmm nothing here - look up hint yup have found that but still no cache !!! Then Stretch0 sings out - got it - it was sitting out in the open with one of Flippers LED lights glowing in the container - opened log and found that a muggle had written that they had found it - cache was all okay so we signed log and popped it back where the hint suggested it should be !!!! at least they didnt take the cache away with them - enjoyed the puzzle and the cache thanks
Worked this one out with a mutaul uncle for most of us while we were still at home but could not get a correct answer!!! Threw paperwork aside and went to work on others and then a days or so later entered the figures in geochecker again and this time we got the green light mmm oh well never mind we have the green light is all we needed . Once in Dunedin we worked our way through our solved puzzles. Arrived on site and hide area was apparent and GPS led us right to the spot only no cache!!!! mmm recheck all figures and check where we were heading to the right place and when standing back i looked around and out in the open in the field was the cache signed by a muggle (child). I'm gathering that the diode lights passed around by flipper and left in this cache by whoever had caught someones eye!! Removed light source and signed and replaced cache in hide TFTC
Had worked this out at home before heading to the Mega event but couldn't get the green tick. Had some nudging from Bladesedge which also didn't seem to help and then along came Rediguana to the rescue. With the right co-ords (it was a simple mistake I'd made), we headed to this cache and found without problems. Log signed and away towards Dunedin for our overnight stop before heading homeward. Thanks for an interesting ? cache drawp.
572 Out caching with MacPacmum and Purdiepurdie after the Mega cleanup. I had solved this at home before coming south so was happy to head Mosgiel way today and pick it up. Nicely placed and exactly where I expected it to be. I like that! TFTC, I enjoyed the space trivia.
Papa had solved this a while ago and was having an afternoon caching with Granville. Having met Moneydork along the Silverstream we met up again as we returned to get Papa's cachemobile and found the lizard rouge waiting in the car sans coffee!! They talked themselves in to following us to this cache and a find was soon made by Granville. The masters were not doing well at this point. Salamat!
