A look yesterday and today. no luck both times, Time to get my eyes checked perhaps.
Had prefound this one as needed some in reserve while trying to increase finds for the day. Needed a cache today and there must have been a reasonable amount of rain overnight as quite a few puddles on the way to this cache. Knew where it was but still managed to get a scratch while reaching. Great area even with the tide out. TFTC
Tom’s first geo cache! Very happy! Bit tricky to get to but the first is always the best!
SJT_NZ and I had searched for this previously and with some recent activity we thought we'd have another search as we were in the area. Today success, Thanks KE for the cache.
Tregearp and I had searched for this one unsuccessfully several years ago. We were passing today and noted that there had been some successful visits since our last attempt and had an instant find in the first place we looked. All in excellent condition. Signed log and replaced as found. Thanks KE for the cache.
Have tried this on a previous walk here, no joy then. A quick find today as Jo spotted it from the right angle. All good here, TFTC KE.
Today, Jo and I are in Nelson targeting anything that will allow us to go for a bike ride. We planned it a while ago as, because Jo works Saturdays, lately we haven’t had the chance to go caching together much.
But there was an elephant in the room - the weather. There was something like 19mm of rain scheduled for just a few hours in the afternoon today and not a lot else in the forecast to write home about either. Still, this didn’t put us off, and if it turned really bad we can just do some park and grabs, right?
So we got away early, got into Nelson and the weather had held off. It was much worse on the way over actually.
So, a few caches on Rough Island first, and still no rain. Optimistic, into Rabbit island we went and this is where it all turned a little bit King Lear Act III
Everything got soaked in the next few hours, and I remembered just how frustrating it can be using a phone (in a waterproof pouch) to go geocaching when the outside is so wet you simply cannot navigate the map on it and any raindrop is likely to send the map somewhere else. Add to this a couple of spills - the best one right over the handlebars when the front tire dug into some deep sand. The next best, a branch through the spokes.
Still, Jo could not be fazed and we soldiered on through it. Eventually we got a decent haul of 30 odd, had some fun and some character building as well. Hey, at least it wasn’t cold. Thanks all COs.

Tregarp and I hunted for a while given the D/T rating but were unsuccessful. Lots of hiding places though so we simply missed it.
A pleasant little walk to this one at the end of the day. It wasn't wedged into anything though.
The Seagnoid, Toby, Zara and I are exploring the Tasman region again. Its a cycle around Rabbit Island today with the assistance of Jack and Jill. So lets get peddling!
Hunted here as Nigel Navigator was swinging me around the place. Finally snagged and tagged. Cheers

Grabbed the TB as Taybeedragon grabbed a slot on the log. However the tracking ID is illegible, so I will log that it has been removed once I hear from its owner.
A nice and quick find. Cheers.
Today was spent cruising around Nelson and environs. Weather was good till the rain started about 5!
Thanks to all of the COs for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Could see it from the right angle, had trouble figuring out how to retrieve it. Left a trackable
A great stop fo horse and dogs , a nice walk around the estuary wet her the tide is in or out great hide. Tftc Kiwi_Explorer
The plan was to go for a big walk with the dog and grab a few caches on Rough Island. However with the GPS in Wellington and the phone coverage being zero at times, this ended up being the only grab. Nice brand new log book to sign and a quick find. Dog still loved the area which we haven't explored yet and he didn't mind not stopping for a cache search. Able to claim 569m for the DGSc Distance challenge from where parked the car. Thanks for replacing and thanks for the cache.
Checked cache after recent DNF and no sign of it. Dropped in a replacement today.
Couldn't find this one, no sign of a chair that we could see but maybe we weren't thinking outside the square.
Glad i came. Looked like it was close to falling- made it a bit more secure.TFTC
TFTC, Great find by my youngest. Placed a trackable for the next cachet to take somewhere
A lovely day today and we dropped off a quacky trackable which we found in Ontario, Canada.please move it on.TFTC
A half circle to position my face in the right spot and cache was found. A magnificent specimen, TFTC !
Longer arms would have helped here but cache was retrieved after canine passed by.
Went on a big adventure with Wafflekitties and geo pups, had a blast thanks for the memories! TFTC.
Found while on a winter holiday with LCBuilder and our two geodogs. We spent 3 weeks travelling down the east coast and then up the west coast, setting our tent up at a different campsite each night. We didn't have any real plan, just went where the caches took us we saw a lot of awesome sights and will definitely have to come back one day as 3 weeks isn't really that long!
Finally made it to Sunny Nelson, definitely one of my favourite places.
Walked a loop around this island, really enjoyed it Thanks for bringing us here.

Spotted the container quickly, but actually getting our hands on it took a bit more time.
Hard to get to. But once we did found the log saturated and couldn't be signed. TFTC!!!
Out for an afternoon walk. Thought a good time to catch up on some local caches. Had to doge a muggle or two walking their dogs. Even ran into a cacher from Chch. Thanks for all the caches
In Richmond for a wee family holiday. Mr TG grew up here; staying with family.
Another hot day in the offing so we headed out early to Rabbit Island....the boys were keen for a swim....and Mr & Mrs TG for a run (independently!). Mrs TG knocked off her run first then I headed back to grab a few around the start of the Rough Island track. Getting hot wot! Nice wee hide....time for a couple more but then will have to turn tail to get out of the heat & meet up with the family again. Cheers.

Found with NZDi. While all and sundry are in Christchurch at the NZ Mega Event, NZDi and I are having a little geocaching weekend of our own. Yesterday we travelled the length of the Awatere Valley up as far as the Molesworth Cobb Cottage and picked up all the caches we didn't already have with the exception of three of GH6710's caches up the Mt Altimarloch Road for NZDi. We even managed to score a F T F up the Medway which must 'annoy' Marchwood as he was up there the day before when it was listed.
Today we came over with our MTBs and rode around Rabbit Island picking off caches here and there with mixed success. This cache turned out to be one of those on the positive side of the ledger and was a QEF on our MTB ride around Rough Island.

What a calm day out here today, the geo mutt got a walk and I got a cache,, nice spot,, Thanx4tc
Well that was an unimpressive start to the week that that was, Yesterday awoke early to drive north for my flight only to find it had been cancelled. The next 40 minutes spent trying to get alterenative flights and finally succedeing although arriving 3.5 hours late for my first appointment.
Today it was a case of get up very early, in a storm and drive to Picton for a 7.30am appointment, and with it all I found myself early (as dont really know the distances so had plenty of wiggle room as to time) so on that note stopped for a few caches that I had singled out while in the area.
This was located on the return to Nelson late afternoon knowing that a few caches never goes amiss. Came out here to Rabibit Island to grab a few caches on a 1 hour plus walk in the driving to meet the requirements of a nearby challenge, this seemed the easiest thing to do as it helps me qualify for it
So again thank you for the FUN of the hunt

On our weekend visit to nelson headed out to the GZ with our friends. Took a little bit of thinking but found it! TFTC
Sarah had this one in her hands by the time Curious George and i arrived. Lovely walk along the estuary - a few canines but no equines today. Left a few trinkets. Thanks for the play.
Easy find with Wilson#41.
Bumped into Curious George and Girls Down Under just as we were leaving. Good to meet you all.
