Family is away for the first week of the school holidays and so I have a plan to go caching. First goal is to make 7000 caches and hoping to crack 180 in a day on Monday. Today I headed west with the geohound - starting on 821 caches for the year (250 AdLabs!) and hoping to crack 50 in various LGAs for the day. It also happens to be AFl Grand Final day so listening to the Swans and the Lions as well. A big diversion to Numurkah but there was a cache I was hoping to find here. This was the first in town. Eventually got the right numbers and the managed to completely over think the hide at GZ. Log is slightly damp but still fine to sign.TFTC Travelling Sister - another in this series done

Reperio 14:42The youngest and I headed into Shepparton today from staying with family in Nathalia, and were looking to spend the day finding some local caches. Ive visited plenty of Mary Mackillop caches over the years, but not too many multis, so this was great to pick this one up. Nice simple calculations soon had me at GZ where the cache was found, safe and sound. Gratias Travelling SisterAs a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV

Well my whirl wind tour of 5 states in 3 weeks started in Vic then SA then the NT, then sunny QLD and now in NSW and I’m heading for VIC today so it will soon be over.
I was able to locate a few caches here or there as I wasn’t able to do to much caching on this trip as I’m with muggle friends.
So after doing half of the the trip I decided to ditch the other couple but that is for another story so let’s go caching.
Stayed at Mount Hope last light which is a great little pub which has plenty of work being on it by the new owners.
I have made it over the border back into Vic and instead of fighting the peak hour traffic in Melbourne this arvo I decided to stay in Numurkah for the night.
When ever I spot a Mary MacKillop cache I Mack sure I find it as my kids went to Penola College in Melbourne which is named after Sister Mary.
A nice easy multi and a quick find.

Thanks Travelling Sister TFTC.

We are heading up to the Shepparton Marathon and taking the long way via Echuca. The plan is to get 20 geocaches in the Campaspe and Moira LGAs and at least 1 cache in whatever NSW LGA Moama is in. Then get at least 4 caches in the Shepparton LGA. Not sure it will happen with our tight schedule, but will see how it goes.

Only got 16 geocaches in Moira LGA yesterday, so todays plan has changed. After doing photography duties at the start of the Marathon, it's time to head North and collect a few geocaches, hopefully in time for the end of the race.

With work associated with Mary MacKillop, I always enjoy finding a Travelling Sister "Mary MacKillop" cache when I see them. As such put this one on my list. Worked our the final and I was soon onsite. That was when the enjoyment stopped. With the morning sun in my eyes, I walked straight into a broken branch and cut open my forehead in 2 places, lots of blood, but no long term damage. Still found the cache.

Thanks for the cache Travelling Sister

Travelling to the Rutherglen Mega and needed a cache in this LGA. I have maybe 4 Mary Mackillop caches left to find in S.A. total. zsince i was targeting the nearby challenge cache i wasn't going to pass up get another of this series in Victoria, quick solve and find. We even met some vic cachers at gz that were also heading to the mega.
Found with JAMS (( JJ52, Allister w, Mogni, plus sir_spectre ) Mitchell&hound wasn't with us this trip) crew. All logs stamped as JAMS to save log space. This trip we are off to the Rutherglen Mega and then slowly coming back to S.A. for a total of 8 dys and 7 nights. The targets of this trip are for JJ52 to get 11 more multi to get to 1000 multi's and a few more Victorian LGA's, Allister W was targeting 17 virtuals ( or as many as he could get ) a few more Victorian LGA's Mogni to make the Rutherglen Mega her 20, 000 find and also for her to complete all Victoria LGA's, sir_spectre needs 1 more multi to get to 1000 multi's and get his Victoria LGS's down to 2 LGA's left. We got 20 or more finds in a LGA if we stayed in there over night. We also detoured to stamp any challenge caches that we were " in the general area off " and to complete that challenge before we came back to S.A. This meant that some times dirt road (s) had to be walked down because they were to wet to drive down and/or haven't been repaired since last years flooding. We started off the holiday in the rain and then that cleared up only to start raining and a overnight thunder storm but most of the trip was dry. Over 600 caches found for the trip including over 120 lab stages in that total. Got to complete the GPS Maze at the Rutherglen Mega for a 2nd time. Allister w was the team driver for all of the Victorian part of the trip. I think this was the first trip ever to Victoria that the extension pole didn't get used but the 6.2 meter ladder did get a work out.

Found with the jams crew on our way to the Rutherglen mega

07-Apr-23
barb2e and I went for a drive to catch some counties.

We stopped here on our way back to the Rutherglen Mega.

Quick find, but the logbook was so mushy, it could be considered pulp. We were just about to replace the log when some other cachers rocked up with one they prepared earlier.

We stuck it in one of our baggies and then in the now dry cache.

Our second day in Numurka. It was a hot one today so we waited for the sun to drop a little before heading out for this one.

That sister certainly got about…I’ve found caches linked to her all over the place.

Log was soaked, too wet to sign. We didn’t face a replacement with us I’m afraid. Photo attached as proof of find.

17-Sep-22
Timed it just right between showers to collect the info we needed and find the cache at GZ.

16-Sep-22
Found It........While up in the area with work and with all of our jobs finished we decided to grab a couple of caches. After gathering the required info we se to working out the needed numbers and after a short time we had a set of good looking numbers, We continued to GZ where a quick search from Mr H_3 in between torrential rain with thunder and lightning soon had us signing the log. So with the cache replaced we continued our journey. Thanks Travelling Sister for the cache

While staying at the show grounds we went for a walk today to complete the caches in this town and this was one of them.

A straight forward multi, nice to tick off another Mary MacKillop cache. Cache and contents were in good condition.

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Found it with Crusty Varmint. Good spot with some interesting details required. Thanks.

Returning from the Sidecar Rally with BlueBM today, we stopped off to collect this cache. After gathering the information, and calculating the new coords, we were taken to a suitable site, where we had a strong indication of the tree we needed. After spending some time searching the tree, Ian checked out the neighbouring tree, and he soon had the cache in hand.
Thanks for the fun Travelling Sister. Another Mary MacKillop ticked off the list.

Found this one and my pen worked. Another nice spot to visit in Numurkah.

20-Jan-22

Leaving Benalla we followed the silo art trail to Tungamah
We then made camp at Numurkah beside the creek. A great spot only a couple of caravans here.
Following lunch we toured some of the back roads finding a few caches, whay a great way to visit the area.
We found a variety of caches in some great locations.

Another Travelling Sisters cache to add to my finds. Attempted to solve before leaving home

Thankyou Travelling Sister for placing this cache.

Another chapter in the vast geocaching story of Mary Mackillop. They seem to be everywhere I go. Cannot wait to come across the net one.

It has been many years since we have found a Mary Mckillop cache so good to tick another one off.
Hey, that should be a challenge cache, you have to have found x number of these caches

Great to have another Mary Mackillop cache under my belt! Have a bunch of these all over the place! This one is in a location I have never travelled to before, and a lot further from home than most!

The carpark was empty so I parked there and crunched the numbers. Then I had to sit and wait at GZ for 5 minutes for a couple of teenagers to slowly walk past, as it is hard to be stealthy in a quiet country town when your the only other person in sight!

Thanks Travelling Sister and local Cache Guardian!

Based in Yarrawonga, we set out for a day's caching in delightful spring weather. It turned out to be an "ALDI day --GOOD- DIFFERENT!
A number of finds, quite a few DNF's, Jumpers off to stay cool! Jumpers on to avoid the prickles, a few tracks impassible (for us) - a very interesting day!
We have quite a collection of Mary Mac caches now, unfortunately, this one was wet and soggy. We left an emergency log, but a new container is still needed.

**FEEDBACK TO CO:** Left an emergency log but container needs replacing.

Thanks Travelling Sister for placing caches for everyone's enjoyment.

Always one for doing a Mary MacKillop cache we made the small detour into Numurkah to work on this multi. The roads were being barricaded for the ANZAC service but luckily that did not effect the cache allowing us access to the info and GZ. We found the log book somewhat damp but we were able to use our waterproof pen to sign it.
Thanks Travelling Sister for the continuing story of Mary MacKillop.

10-Apr-21
Mary MacKilop's famous saying was "Never see a need without doing something about it". Today that need was to find a geocache near where we are staying at the Lakeside Country Club. A slow morning followed by a walk around the lake and the town, which included finding this cache. Found at 9:20. Thanks Travelling Sister for placing and maintaining this cache in picturesque Numurkah, in a place that is worthy of more geocaches.

As a member of TeamOZCAT logged in this cache, I am now logging as an individual predominantly to avoid any mistaken/unnecessary revisitation.
Under groundspeak guidelines, this logging is acceptable as I was indeed at Cache GZ in person in recent times. However, all cache owners have the right to delete logs as they see fit. Usually done to "Armchair loggers" or inappropriate texting.

If any cache Owner/s have questions regarding this matter, please feel free to contact.

TeamOZCAT logged finds when both Karen and Reg logged as individuals. This logging is exactly the same, only in reverse. Again, groundspeak acceptable.
For an unspecified period of time TeamOZCAT are no longer cache searching but remain active in our cache management and maintenance.

I sincerely thank all CO's and wish you all the best in your endeavours. Cheers Karen

01-Oct-20
Many cache owners are already aware: As per Groundspeak guidelines, I am claiming find because physically found under TeamOzcat. I undertake this not for disinterested statistical purposes, but because of inability to revisit this cache, and/or because it's so damn confusing when viewing the local district geocache maps. I sincerely thank all CO's for time and effort in placement of their caches. Cheers Reg.

My partner was so delighted to see the thousands of fruit bat's flying north to wherever. Likely food source. This was at sunset and made even more lovely sight with a full moon. I have never seen so many bats and they continued to fly over well after finding and logging the cache. Fav awarded.

A fun trip with n0w0rries +Wife and the canines to Shepparton to celebrate 9 months to the next Mega event.

While we were up that way, we decided to venture a little further, and try our hand at the Least Favourite challenge cache. That tricky little hide eluded us, but here we were unexpectedly on the edge of town.

Initial research was done one holiday with the kids, when we stopped to pay our respects in passing. I flubbed my answers, though, which, while making for an exploration of some interesting spots in Numurkah, weren't conducive to a smiley.

No matter. I'd anticipated my next stay at my parents' timeshare and worked out some coordinates, but we'd ended up swapping to another resort each holiday since. So +Wife drove us to the location, and n0w0rries made the find. A neat team effort.

Thanks, Travelling Sister... We replaced the original log sheets, which were a bit tired.

Another day on the road as I make my way from Adelaide to Tasmania, via country Victoria.

Its been s leisurely trip, visiting some interesting places and some delightful little towns along the way, and seeking out a few select caches to break up (and in some cases guide) the journey. The weather has been good too, although perhaps a little bit hot for my liking. But its March - you get that!

After camping on the bank of the Murray near Echuca, I made my way east more or less following the river. It was great to be able to find 3 traditionals, 7 unknowns, 3 letterbox hybrids, a couple of multis and an earthcache today. And only one DNF!

This was a nice quick multi.

Thanks Travelling Sister for the cache.

Not having much luck with the trad up the road, we thought we'd have a better shot at this multi instead, and with a little number crunching we were soon signing the log at a beautiful gz.
Thanks travelling sister for another mary mckillop cache, we found this mid afternoon Saturday, sorry for the late log.

Another Mary MacKillop ticked off.
Our regular school holiday Team Clarmensma overnight trip is upon us again, this time heading north to Cobram, Barooga area. With both days over 40, we broke up our caching with lots of swimming, frozen cokes and icy poles.
A really fun day had tripping around. TFTC

18-Jan-19
Nice to tick another one of these ones off the list. I’ve found plenty in various places!

School holidays meant it was time for Team Clarmensma to reform. This consisted of myself; becca85 and our 4 geokids (AdamSistema, LukeSistema, neisha07, boo09). This time we hit the Murray and cached our way from Ballarat/Maryborough to Cobram/Barooga (where we stayed the night) and then back through Tocumwal, Numurkah, Shepparton and Bendigo. We had a fabulous couple of days in VERY hot weather so stopped for lots of swims and water fun. Many thanks for the cache. Very much appreciate you placing for us to find.

Hooray! Another after hours cache done. Thanks again, Spy Inc.
PS just got accosted by a guy in a car... not even the suspect activity of night caching drew his attention... apparently I was standing in front of a friend's house, and he mistook me for that friend.

After fixing my mathematical errors I eventually found this cache. The zip lock bags and log books, yes there were 2 of each in there, were both in need of replacement. As I had applied on me, I've replaced the zip lock bag and left a new log in there.
A good scenic picnic spot. Hope there will be more caches to find on my next visit (wink). TFTC.

(Sun 8 Oct)... having just "Serviced" the Milawa Gourmet Region with wallets happily wide open [^] Absolutely LOVE that region and all the goodies it has to offer [^] we stopped off at Numurkah for a bit. I had just finished grabbing a Trad in a park near the main street then had a try for this multi. I somehow managed to balls up the seconds of the south co-ords after an unsuccessful search in obviously the wrong area... rather than DNF-ing it Big Grin (how convenient lol) I saved grabbing the final till today, (12 Oct.) with corrected final co-ords in hand I completed my 'unfinished business' and ducked in quickly to make a swift find [^] SL at 15:55 on Thu 12 Oct 2017. All dry within the cache [^] TFTC Travelling Sister Smile

23-Aug-17
This was the last day of holidays for us and we were heading back home and we thought that we would try our luck at this one.

We have found many Mary MacKillop dedication caches but as we recall we think that this is our first multi and happily it was a nice easy one. We soon had the co-ords for gz and followed the GPSr to a very scenic area which happily was deserted and we located the cache in the first place we looked and then added our name to the log before returning everything as it was.

Thanks Travelling Sister for the cache.

A quick multi, however at GZ we had a little trouble until I spotted it on the ground. Replaced it, but its not covered very well. Thanks for the hide and another one in this series.
