Out for a quiet bush walk, decided to see if any caches in the area and found this one. TFTC
Found with Ally, havent seen one of these containers for ages. Looking for birds on a dreary day. Thanks for the cache.
Grey overcast afternoon skies dont stop one geocaching! Another find in mid Mountains today, TFTCAnd paid Mabel Falls a visit as its mentioned as a worthwhile waypoint. Also a namesake of one of my ancestors. Heres a photo
Found It!
Interesting bit of history. Found the cache after a short walk and a short search!

Found it during a nice walk around the Woodford lake. We went back via Paradise pool and Edith Falls.
At GZ quick find. Signed the logbook and putted the container.

Out on a Mother's Day walk with my daughters. Nice easy walk and lovely waterfalls. There are some track markers now to each of the falls. Cache was easy to find and in good order. Left a Green Earth Brick TL1P0Y490 trackable. TFTC
Love the story of the transit of Venus. A great walk to, thank you for bringing us here, will have to come back and check out the rest of the waterfalls.

I am gradually catching up with my logging - am currently only a month and a bit behind. But that's still over 100 caches!
To be honest, while I still find searching for caches fun, I'm finding logging less so. But I have to log to get me stats and souvenirs, so...
Only a few Adventure Labs and my First2Finds have been written up in a timely manner - don't want people racing out when it's already been snaffled.
Nevertheless, I have kept up with my 2022 goal of 16 finds per caching day. In fact, for the most part my modus operandi has been to actually aim for 20. So far I've only failed on that a few times, and only by 1 find. Amazingly I'm on track for 19 finds per day, but somehow I expect that will eventually prove too hard as I have to travel a good distance if I want more than a cache a day.
Thanks to all the CO's who have made it possible to keep my goal in sight. Most of the finds have been Traditionals, but a few Puzzle series and the odd other cache type have been grabbed where possible.
Sorry the logs are very generic, but I'll never catch back up otherwise.
###END OF GENERIC ABJECT GROVELLING SECTION###
Decided to hit the Bluies for a few calendar finds today - hoping for at least five to appease the Calendar Caching Gods. Got six before heading home.
That'll do!
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Pleasant short bushwalk and an easy find.

First time I've walked Transit of Venus since moving to the mountains over a year ago. Great cache. TFTC
Thanks for the cache it’s in great condition I’m amazed the first log was in 2012!
Great Day to cache with the rain easing for this morning ! Nice walk in , easy find once at gz. Cache is in great condition . Found with storey teller. Tftc
Didn't mean to walk this far but glad I did. Great spot for a cache.
TFTC and the falls.
TFTC and the falls.
Great find to a lovely day at the falls, especially Paradise Pool. Replaced the pen
Have wanted to get this one for years! Was a nice quiet find on a Spring Sunday TFTC
Thanks so much for this introduction to geocaching! I have lived up the road from here for almost 30years!
Found today 6/7/21 lockdown fun (socially distanced exercise...) with son, neighbour and her boys. All boys loved it was in an ammunition tin. 3 trinkets taken, 3 trinkets replaced.
Found on a father daughter geocache hunt! Easy to find not too far off the track!
Good one! Easy for the youngsters to find. Please bring a new pen for the logbook
I have never been to this area before. There are so many interesting bush places in the Mountains. Nabbed the cache and returned to the car but would like to return and explore the area further when I have more time.
Out with my bushwalking club again today and today we were up in the blue mountains, caught the train early from morisset and arrived in woodford around 10.30. Had a lovely walk looking at the falls and after the last one a geocache for me.
i let the group look for this one and had it soon in our hands tftc

Near home but have not been on the Transit of Venus track for some time. Good spot. TFTC
First geocache with the kids. Not too difficult to find and the kids thought it was the best thing ever. Can't wait to find more!!
Out with frazeydaze for a mornings caching around Woodford. After parking at the end of Woodbury Street we then walked the short distance to GZ where frazeydaze made a quick find of the nicely maintained cache. TFTC.
Lovely short bush walk to GZ. With the sound of cicadas in the background oldmorty and I had an easy find. TFTC Toriaz
We've been wanting to tackle this one for a while now, and we finally got to do it. The approach was simple and the walk there didn't take long at all, cache in hand and log signed! The stories surrounding the various transits of Venus are fascinating and it was nice to share them with the team. Thanks for the hide!
Found with TeamNormal!

A rainy day. Found GZ but looked in the wrong end for a while before finding the cache. TFTC
Nice area I have not been to before. Had not gone for this one before thinking it was difficult to access, but it was simple enough. Fav point. Tftc
Nice walk with my son. He took the toy helicoptor and all i had was a $2 coin on me so thats what he left. Thanks
I was teaching science at the time of the last occurrence of this event. We took the kids out in their separate classes to view it. Only then they wouldn't resettle, and the rest of the class was wasted. I'm sure that there were better places to be to view the event.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Short on time today I made a dash for the fairly straight forward cache. It's a nice area and I'm sure I'll be back again to check out the falls further down the track.
Thanks for highlighting this area

Have walked this track before pre geocaching our friends live opppsite the start of the track. Nice, easy find. Now onto the falls. Thanks Toriaz
Neat little walk down through the area and the cache was found sitting nicely in it's hidey hole.
Thanks again Toriaz...

Easy find.
Nice quiet track.
Nice to see a good sized cache for a change from magnetic micros.
The cache is looking a bit bare at the moment.

A nice cache to find today and in an area that I have never ventured before, I shall come back and walk further one day. An easy find for my 901th cache. TFTC.
We found this Cache on our blue mountains trip. It's a nice spot.

This was certainly an informative cache. Thanks for doing so much research when putting this cache in. After quickly finding the cache we contiued down to Mabel Falls for afternoon tea. The falls were running quite well but obviously must have been really flowing well recently judging by the debris near the falls and the fact you continue on much further as the bridge has been damaged. Thanks for bringing us to such a lovely spot.
A nice amble along a great track, and the cache was soon in hand. Thanks Toriaz.
Goodness, a Cache can that one can grasp. Track was a tad soggy wet after the rain, but an easy wander down the pathway. TFTC
I went for an afternoon of local caches today, this one proved to be a nice quick find using the hint. Only problem I had was finding the track at first! Nice spot however. TFTC
By the time we reached Woodford area it was only light mist not rain or heavy missed so we decided to stop for this one. Very impressed it was an ammo tin. Webguy Jnr and I were sent off ahead and he let me walk right past then the other half of Team Webguy turned up to end up finding the cache. Such is life.

A nice easy find on a dampish afternoon. Nice to see an ammo tin in the wild.

Still catching up with all my unfound Blue Mountains caches. Got around to finding this one today, nice pleasant walk from Woodford station.
Cache was soon in hand, all is well nice and dry. It is a shame that the 'Transit of Venus' track is closed, and has been for some years now otherwise this would have been perfect.
Thanks for the nice walk and the lovely waterfall at the end of the track.

Went for a morning stroll on this lovely clear winter's morning. Bit chilly but nary a cloud in the sky. Leaving the road it was a short & pleasant stroll along the excellent track to the cache whereupon the caching duties were completed. Nice to see an ammo tin out and about. Didn't continue along the rest of the track but have done so on previous occasions and it is a very nice walk indeed to the waterfalls and beyond. Fine spot. Made no swaps and left the Civil War coin in situ.
Went for a walk with my geowife to Mabel Falls and picked up this cache on the way for day 80. TFTC.
I have been holding off from visiting this cache as I knew it would be a great kiddie walk. Today geogirl decided she wanted to go for a walk with me, so I knew just where we would go. We parked at the suggested location and had no problems getting to GZ. Geogirl made the find very easily and swapped a comb for a bendy pencil. We then continued on down the hill, over the bridge which is now open, crossed the firetrail and popped in to Edith falls which was a lovely spot (despite the sedimentation). On the way back to the car we took the branch off to Mabel falls which is also beautiful.
BTW even though with the bridge open, you can do the full Transit of Venus walk, I still think you are better starting at Woodbury street not Mount View Ave, as when you come in from Mount View Ave, you quickly hit a complex network of firetrails with no signs saying which way to the transit of Venus walk except for the huge sign at the start where you park your car. After that, you are on your own.
Thanks Toriaz for giving me and geogirl a lovely afternoon in the bush.

What an excellent idea for a geocache!
I'd have preferred to try to find this one yesterday, while the current 'Transit of Venus' was actually ongoing, but a combination of lingering jet lag and terrible rainy and cold weather led me to pursue easier drive-by prey in Valley Heights in the limited time available to me.
Today was bright and clear and the straightforward trek in to GZ was an easy one. The going was a tiny bit sloppy of course, given the recent downpours. This would be a great choice for a geo-family outing, and Mabel Falls is worth the visit.
Anyhow, all was well with the geocache today. TNLNSL.
All in all, a highly praise-worthy 'textbook' geocache: great concept, very appropriate placement (name of trail), very good log book, nice swaps, accurate GZ coords and even parking and waypoint coords . . . can't be beat!
Many thanks again to Toriaz!
