Heading north to Whanganui, made a diversion to find this cache in the Canz series. Stopped at the waypoint, some initial confusion over which section to use, but soon worked it out and calculated the final coordinates. At GZ, found the cache container out in the open, as per mumandme's log. Moved back to a hiding place in it's original position. Tftc!
Found this cache by accident today whilst looking for another one in the area. It was found out in the open and at that time we didn't know where it was supposed to be. On checking since we got home, it is not as per the hint, but nearby. Now I have found this one, we might work on the rest of the series.
So here we are in the North Island again doing a whirlwind tour. We are trying to complete the PWGT Tahi section so we are having to head to the far north. Along the way we will pick up a few other caches that take our interest such as those with lots of favourites or size large or letterbox caches or some that will just help us to fulfil some of the various challenges we are working on.
The CANZ series has interested us and over the years we have found quite a few in the South Island, and this trip we hope to find some in the North Island as well. Even though this is archived we figured with so many fairly recent finds it was worth the detour to see if wee could find it and gather the code.
The wind was howling when we went to gather the information so I took a photo and went back to the campervan to work out the final coordinates. We were soon on our way to the final destination where GK made a quick find. It is still in good condition and totally findable.
Thank you for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley

Today I am making my way from Wanganui back to Wellington at the end of a weekend, and gathering some geocaches along the way. Some for a specific reason, and some just because. This was one of them. A slight deviation from my usual path today as one of the specific caches I want is out in this direction.
and, this was the specific cache I wanted. Mainly cos I have decided to try and complete the CANZ set this year (at least the North Island ones), but also because I don't think I have ever logged an archived cache before. Bit of as pain that the Android phone app wont even open then up.
Called by the initial location and initially got worried as the description doesn't really match up with what is there, but made some (wild) assumptions and managed to get some numbers that looked good. Headed on over to where they were pointing, and sure enough, there was a cache.
Cache is in great condition, all safe and dry. TFTC.

Numbers were no problem and a quick find at GZ. I’m late coming to the CANZ party so glad to be able to get a few even archived ones!
Malinkaly and I planned a road trip to go to the MEGA but Covid has postponed the event again. We decided to continue on with our planned journey making adjustments as we go with the ever-changing travel restrictions.
Greetings from Dunedin!
Thanks for the cache, skindo

Yes, achieved, but it was on the list, so we thought we might as well try on our way through. And what can I say. All good here. Happy cache, happy cachers.

Down from Hamilton to collect some TMGT and Jasmer caches.
My second CANZ cache for the trip. I quickly located the information and returned to the car to calculate the final. Quiickly arrived at GZ and located the cache. Signed and grabbed the code, now I better start heading up to my accomodation.
TFTC skindo, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 14 find(s) of 15 today, making this find #2283

#8256. I was heading up this way to attend the community celebration event in Whanganui on Saturday. So decided to take a day of annual leave and come up a day early to the Manawatu to pick up geocaches near Sanson and north of Feilding before staying overnight in Palmerston North. Got an early start (for me) from Wellington and was up at the first cache soon after 9 am.
Even though I had loaded up all unfound skindo caches on my GPS, I was not expecting any skindo caches up here today as it was an archived cache and not showing up on the geocaching website map. Still it was on my GPS so I stopped to do another cache in the CANZ series which is being done at glacial pace by me (did my first one in 2014). Was not totally sure I had read the description correctly but only seemed one possible option at the memorial so wrote them down. I sat in the car and did the calculations and was very pleased to get the right checksum. Then it was off to GZ for my second visit today. The hiding place is still doing its job and the cache was soon located and uncovered from some vines. Signed the log and replaced the cache as found. Code recorded. Thanks skindo for the fun multi. Shame its been archived but at least it still visible on the other CANZ series pages.

While looking for the multi nearby, we discovered this cache is actually still in place so signed the log anyway.
I was up this way today as I was looking to have a go at a new cache placed nearby which would fill a hole in my D/T grid. Whilst here, I was advised of the vicinity of this archived cache so it seemed only sensible that I would grab this one too.
No issues with the container and contents, so the log was signed and the whole lot was placed back exactly as found.
Thanks for the cache.

I can't finish the CANZ series without this cache so I called past on a trip from Auckland to Palmerston North The calculations for the final coordinates were completed and the prize with code were collected without the need to retrace my route Al in good condition here although the spot seems to have been used as a convenience - not really appropriate in this sort of place
Thanks Skindo

Today I found myself in the area and fortunately still shows as an unfound cache in c:geo although it's Archived.
I was kicking myself for not having found it previously when it was Archived, but I gathered the required info and headed off to the Final GZ.
And there it was! Partially hidden by ivy but still plainly visible. And dry too! Was thinking I was signing as the last entry, but now see I should've perhaps turned the page as the previous entries were dated 2018. Got the code so I should be able to continue the series. TFTC. Still a shame CO Archived this one. I'm sure the local geocaching community would've looked after it to maintain the integrity of the CANZ series.

Found it as I need the info for the CANZ which I am doing with the GeoTour. QUite easy and the cache in a safe location. Shoule be re-enabled really for those of us doing this. Makes it awkward to log it - ie it does not come up on my phone have to log on via internet. Perhaps someone else can take it over?
I know this cache is archived, but I thought it might still be in the original place, as I was going to visit my uncle, aunty and cousin, I thought I would kill 2 birds with 1 stone, I solved the clue and went hunting, and there is was, nice and try, and within metres of my familym tftc Skindo
Taking an alternative route to Waioru to pick up Kyb3rs car as he wanted to do this cache for the series. We quickly got our answers and made our way to the cache site. Found quickly and back to the car when Kyb3r realised he didn't write down the code. I told him what it was but he didn't believe me and ran back to check. Of course I was right, I always am.
This week is my with Ethness in the North Island. We are driving from Wellington to Auckland, with a few detours. It is a 5 day trip.
Today is day one after spending the night in Palmerston North we went out geocaching around the town before heading to Hamilton
We were stopping for larger geocaches and enjoying others on the way.
I look forward to to completing this one day.
Sadly there is no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. I plan on going to the OzGeomuster in July. To find out more visit this site: https://www.ozgeomuster.com.au
If you can't make Aussie. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland. I will keep you posted in my logs.
Thanks for hiding this geocache.

First time I have found one of this series so having looked where the rest are I will do the series. TFTC for the cache and the series.
Passing through the area so stopped to try my luck at this one.
Answers soon found and off to final location.
Lovely peaceful location

The CANZ caches in the 3 regions I planned to visit during my 2 week mega trip where very high on the list of must do caches. I ran out of time to do this one yesterday as I was expected in Palmerston North for dinner and it was already way past that (that's what happens when you keep thinking "just one more cache"). As I'm heading home to the South Island tomorrow I had to get it today so back tracked to get it. A nice easy multi and off I went to find the cache, easy find at GZ as well, took the TB. Thanks for the cache Skindo

A quick detour on our way to Cape Palisier brougth us to this cache. THe answers were quickly found and checked twice, as we could not belive the distance to the finale. As it was on our way, we went for it and quickly found the cahce.
We made a short detour on the way to Cape Palliser.
The answers were quickly found, but we wondered about the distance to the final.
Checksum was correct, so we gave it a go.
At GZ the container was quickly retrieved.

Thanks for this Cache!

Day Seven of a 12 day, 3000 km road trip around the North Island with the primary objectives being the Taupo Ultra Marathon on the 13th and my first ever caching Mega event in Wellington on the weekend of 20th & 21st. With thousands of possibilities for caches to look for on the way, I had to be very selective and decided to concentrate on special types, solved puzzles, ones that would fill missing spots in my statistics grids and those with good numbers of favourite points, plus maybe a few extras that were close by those.
Today while the other half went shopping in town, I did a tour of the roads around Palmerston North. The weather was great again, with no sign of any rain to interfere with caching activities.
This CANZ cache was an important one on my list, as I am trying to complete this series. Once at GZ, the data was found and the final location calculated. A short trip back there and the cache container was soon located, the log signed and all returned, safe and secure. Made sure to make a note of the code. TFTC

On a long trip down to the mega with Lis's crew. So for me it good for numbers and favorites caches. With several stops and a lot of caches and several souvenirs up for grabs the trip was the perfect opportunity to get my numbers up and get some challenges that I have qualified for.
I'm heading down to the Wellington Mega with the greatauk. This was the fourth day of our 10 day trip. I wanted a long line of smiles down the country but I also wanted to pick up some of my solved puzzles along the way. Today were caching around Palmy. I lived here for 10 years when I was at Uni. I married and had three babies in this city. We're staying with old friends so it's great to be back here. Thegreatauk was keen to get another CANZ cache. I haven't done any in the series and am not likely to make it to the South Island any time soon. We were in the area of the plinth for one of my puzzles so collecting the info was easy. Thanks for the cache
Day 2 of my road trip for WENZ Mega. Flew up from Invercargill to Wellington yesterday and will end the day in Wanganui.
An intentional detour to add to my CANZ collection : Canterbury, Taranaki, Southland, Wellington and now Manawatu/Wanganui.
Quickly solved and found once at GZ.
However the inside of the container has been wet. Logbook is usable, but everything else is covered in grit. Needs more of a cleanup than I can give. Only one clip was sealing due to accumulated dust, dirt and grit.
Thanks for the smilie Skindo.

Road trip time again! This weekend Team BOP consists of Davidson Clan, TNXPro, Squirrelnutcase, FapAndGap, McJandals, NZFlossy & myself. We had a very narrow list of ‘must gets’ so this trip was essentially a numbers mission. As with these trips, most of the caches were found quickly and in good condition thanks to accurate coords and straight forward placements. We replaced some logs and containers but most had water proof paper and were all good. A huge thank you to the co’s as this was a beautiful area to visit and there was certainly an abundance of geocaches!!
Excited about getting another CANZ cache - log is getting a little damp though. TFTC

Team BOP decided that with the MEGA rapidly approaching, we need to boost our numbers so we could try for a milestone number at the Mega. I am approaching my 3000th cache but was still about 325 caches away from that. Reaching the milestone may or may not happen, but this weekend certainly was about the numbers. I had an initial target I was trying to beat and that was my highest number of caches found in one day and we comfortably beat that, achieving 158 caches (subject to confirmation, once I log them all).
The best way to do the high numbers is with power trails and out here, there is a smorgasborg of powertrails.
We loaded up the van, gathered up all seven of us and headed to our accomodation somewhere in the middle of nowhere, getting there well after dark. The location was convenient, as it was right in the thick of a power trail territory.
There was no splitting us up, as we only had one vehicle, so we all experienced the cache locations, some beautiful and some not so.
As with powertails we have done in the past, there was a high proportion of waterlogged caches, but unlike powertails we have done previously, we managed to find every cache and were glad to be able to clear out an area. Also, with powertails, comes cut and paste logs, to which I apologise for.
Thanks to all those CO's who have placed the caches out there. Without you, our fun road trips wouldnt exist. We all had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend and got home completely shattered. It was so worth it.
We just had to grab this one while we were in the area. Who know when we can complete this series.

Team BOP on tour in the Manawatu-Whanganui Region... With Gap (of Fap and Gap), (Mr) Davidson clan, McJandals, NZFlossy, Philip.Perry, and TNXPro.
This weekend had been in the pipeline for ages. It was always going to be a mission for various team members to get coordinated leave passes... We secured accommodation in the rural heart of the Manawatu. This placed us well within reach of a massive trail of caches... We travelled in one vehicle, so our journey was filled with lots of laughs, and good times... Fortunately, the majority of caches were in place and were fairly quick to locate - thanks to straightforward hints and great coordinates. Many of the caches had not been found in a while, so containers were waterlogged, and logbooks were wet... Thank goodness for waterproof paper. A huge thank you also, to the various COs who made our weekend worthwhile...
This was our very first cache stop and an important one in the greater scheme of things (CANZ). We managed to collect the relevant numbers which resulted in a quick find at ground zone. Scared a bird or two in the process... TFTC.

On a road trip with Team BOP to Feilding. Set off Friday night and back home Sunday. Lots of caches and lots of laughs with great weather and great scenery. Thanks to all the COs for giving us a awesome trip
Happy to grab another CANZ cache on our road trip. Funnily enough, Mrs. B. had commented on the area the final was in as we went through town. Had a laugh as we ended up there to get the cache. Cache in good condition, thanks for the multi!
I took a day off work to do some geocaching up in the Rangitikei area. Mostly to bulk out my numbers for the Hidden Creatures, but to also finish qualifying for a couple of challenge caches, plus a few other geocaching tasks. Finally got my second CANZ cache. All good here. TFTC
(# 4524). Came up to the Manawatu to grab some caches on a nice fine winters day. There must have been a lot of rain recently as everything is waterlogged. Got the information and quickly calculated the final coordinates. Place has pretty much closed down since I was last here as the shop has closed permanently. On to the final then a quick find. Everything in order. TFTC
On the road for our first venture into the North Island with our little caravan to explore this part of the country. It is not a caching expedition as such, but we do manage to stop for one or two . We’ve been on the road now for 38 days since arriving in Wellington and are now on stage 2 of our trip – ‘The Crossing’ – from the East coast to the West coast. We arrived in New Plymouth, via the Forgotten World Highway from Taumaranui, Rotorua, and Whakatane. Stage 1 was the East Coast, Gisborne, Mahia, Wairoa, Napier, Cape Kidnappers, the Wairarapa, Cape Turnagain and Cape Palliser. We’ve had a variety of weathers, but mostly ‘good’, although a few days have been a bit , Hola was a somewhat of a ‘no show’, thank goodness. We have already seen and discovered lots of interesting things about our country that are new to us. Our travels lead us to your cache, as we travelled across the island, many thanks, Skindo, for bringing us here. We’ve had great fun so far and look forward to finding a couple more caches as we travel on our way. TFTC.
Spent the weekend in Palmy stopped by here on our way home. Didn't take long to get the final coordinates and then a short drive later had cache in hand.

I got very cheap flights to Wellington and back for the weekend, what a perfect excuse to come caching and find some that have been sitting on my to do list, and some more! This one was on my long term list although not on the immediate trip list, but I somehow managed to get myself close enough to look for it at this occasion! As I was driving in, I spotted the perfect place, and my hunch was indeed correct when the final coords took me back exactly there! nice and straightforward multi, and the best spot for the final!!! That's all that I could fit in anyway before having to race back to catch my return flight, and a nice note to end the trip on. TFTC!!
Visited the memorial and did the calculations resulting in some co-ordinates,then straight to GZ and found and wrote the log.Re-concealed carefully.TFTC!
I was doing the cards and colors power trails.nearby and ended up in Holcombe. Cool there is a CANZ cache here, that would make 3 now. First attempt nope to many numbers, 2nd attempt looks much better. How to get there hmmmmmm arrived at gz yeah that looks good. Lid was off but camp.still held in place. It was about this point I started having issues with my cellphone so have up on my plan to find 80 caches in a day and head to well I from for the weekend.
Went after this one about a year ago and got messed up by the final. Came back with the final co-ords and ended up on a wild goose chase. So went back and started again. Turned out I`m dislexic or stupid or something. Soon had the correct co-ords plugged in and cache in hand not long after. Phew!! TFTC
Headed out with Popmac to make a few more finds to assist reaching my goal of 3000 by the end of the year. This cache had been on my list to find as I have found the SI Semifinal of this series. Took a few minutes to sort the correct coordinates, but no problems locating the cache today. Thanks for the hide.
Call in on our way to Wellington. Soon had the coordination and on our way to the final. Another CANs cache tick off. TFTC
Last time I was in Halcombe time ran out before we attempted this cache. Today this was put right. Some of the information was difficult to read but decided the final seemed to be in a likely looking place. Sure enough there it was. TFTC .
Having just attended a conference in Wanganui it was too good an opportunity to miss finding this cache on the way back to Wellington. The multi was quickly solved and the location determined. Finding the cache was easy. Dropped off a tb and collected another piece in the CANZ jigsaw puzzle. TFTC
Was quite busy when standing in the middle of the town collecting the required information. We checked it took us to a likely location and off we went to find cache. Glad it was a quick find once I saw what was surrounding the cache. Thanks so much we will add the code to our collection. A few more to go though. TFTC
On our way to Palmy on a 2-day midweek break. Fanfan-77 driving and well I’m trawling through a heap of caches looking for one or two to break up the drive. At the mention of a CANZ cache fanfan-77 is keen. We detour to the given coordinates and spot what we are looking for. Whilst working out the maths we are approached by an Australian guy who gives us a bit of history on the names on the monument. He’s in the area doing some family tree research. We sheepishly explain we are treasure hunting!! Checksum checked and we are off for the final. Easy find once there. TFTC
On a 2-day "weekend between weekends" outing with sveppi. We have a function in Palmy tonight but we left home early, giving us all day to make it there.
Still many, many CANZ caches to find, will probably take a decate to complete at this rate!
Easy puzzle, quiet location for the final. Interesting sort-of middle-of-nowhere kind of location to take us! The town appeared deserted, then some dude with an australian accent accosted us and started talking to us about his deceased father and grandfather who were from the area and married some of the names listed on the cenotaph.
A bit mouldy inside the container might need drying otu and some silicone in the seal... TFTC.

Sidetracked from Fielding to grab a CANZ, which in turn was sidetrack from Palmy to grab Amazing Race! TFTC
I grew up in PN, but I don't think I've been to Halcombe before. It takes Geocaching to get me there! A great cache to do on a perfect day. Thanks!
A nice quick solve and find on a cold Saturday afternoon. TFTC. Must make a note to look for these when we are out of the Manawatu District.
Had an extra day off for Easter and no set plans so I thought I might head out and grab a few caches this afternoon. Ended up getting two multis two puzzles and two traditionals, not a bad effort. This is the first of the CANZ series I have done (I think......) so I will have to find a safe place to keep the code as it will probably take me a while to collect all of them. Coordinates worked out quickly and find made quickly. Thanks for the cache! Nice to get another multi ticked off
Was keen to do another CANZ and m/c. Once we had read the info more carefully we soon had the co-ordinates. In hindsight we should have done the others in Halcombe first, but headed for GZ . A nicely placed cache at a spot we could have easily missed. tftc
Adding one more code to my canz file thanks skindo had us bouncing about halcome TFTC

TFTC. This was one of my goals for this epic caching foray, as I wasn't sure when I'd be in the area again. Calculating the revised location was relatively straightforward, and the cache was exactly where it should be, and in excellent condition. A worth FP awarded.
Cache # 2,995 - part of a massive 13-hour day, doing a blitz around Palmerston North wider area with team WITT (Wandering Dragons, Infoferret, Taybee and TaybeeNZ), ultimately resulting in 160 caches for me. The KAS trail was the heart of this effort, but we continued on past that to a number of points further north in Halcombe and Feilding to get our numbers up. This was one of Infoferret's goals for the day, and we grabbed the needed code from the cache. Only my second CANZ cache, so a long way to go for me. TNLNSL. TFTC!
Caching in and around Halcome today. Solved these coordinates after stopping in at the dairy and decided to make this one the last call for the day.
Nice little town, quick and easy multi. Heading back down South after a great North Island trip. Tftc
A mission was needed to complete one of the last few licence challenges on Rangitoto Island, so a passing comment to C&D at an event and this mission was soon planned. We nearly achieved what we set out to accomplish, with only 1 more cache to find to complete the challenge but that was due to miss-reading the fine print on the challenge page.
So with the mission lasting 48 hours we amassed a great set of numbers, 317 caches found, just over 1200km travelled, about 7 hours of sleep, C&D finding his 180th earthcache, completing the KAS powertrail in under 3 hours and finding numerous amazing geocaches. A lot of fun was had along the way, and some great memories were created. A big thanks to everyone for placing all the caches along the way, this mission wouldn't have been as much fun if they weren't there!
A small detour just to get this cache to knock another one off the list. A few moments to work out what was needed to solve the multi but a decent set of coordinates were soon found. With a cache being found shortly after, thanks for the multi.

Today I was taking the second part of my journey back down to Christchurch after working in Auckland for a week. I left Hamilton at 7am and made it my goal to reach Upper Hutt by 5pm to catch up with some friends. I had only a few caches to grab on the West coast of the North Island. I have never been this way before and wanted to grab the CANZ cache and a few on the West Cape, then head to the Manauatu CANZ cache and grab a few others. I had a massive driving day and got to my friends place at 5.06pm. Not bad. Only stink thing today was Mt Taranaki was shrouded in cloud.
I have stopped by here a few years back to grab the numbers and just couldn't get them to work and with having the family in the car time was scarce. I took note of the numbers and we headed off. I worked out the final at home and put it on the 'to do' list. Today I had made a slight detour to pick up the cache and number I only have four more to grab for the north island now. Now my last stretch to the Upper Hutt.
Thanks for the cache.

Thanks for the multi skindo... just my first find in the CANZ series!
All quiet at GZ - container was half full of water after recent heavy rainfall but logbook was dry - yay!
Dried out stash as much as I could and replaced as found.

Heading off for a six day sortie though the lower North Island with the primary reason being to pick up the CANZ caches we need to complete the North Island half of the challenge.
Yay. Woohoo. Another CANZ done and dusted. Quite a long detour from our route but that was the plan. Poignant to see the crosses at the memorial in the town. ANZAC in a few days.
After this, the last for the day we really had to head straight for our friends place at Upper Hutt before they sent out search parties.
Thanks skindo. Another smilie on the road to Wellington.

Travelling through the area today we had to call by to find the CANZ cache, as owners of a CANZ cache ourselves. Having not remembered this one was a multi, we were briefly surprised by the location our GPS was pointing to as we drove up. Soon had that sorted though, and the final co-ords worked out. The cache itself was a nice easy find, and we made sure we took note of the number for the Semi-Final. Thanks.
Passing through on our way to Fielding so had to grab a couple of caches I did not get last time. A nice memorial and then a quiet spot for the cache. TNLNSL.
Thanks for the placement.
Thanks for the placement.
Easy as. Went straight to GZ and made the find and recorded the code. Cheers and TFTC
Found over a couple of days while staying nearby. Halcombe is like a ghost town. It felt like it was missing people but at least those fallen in war are remembered.
Solved the puzzle quickly, and drove towards the final, but ended up on back roads and farmlands, so we went back to the puzzle and took a different road. At GZ, we found the cache quickly. XNSL. TFTC.
To find this little fellow I hitched from Taupo all the way down to Wellington just to dive up with some members of the local kayak club. On the way towards our wanganui river journey we took this little detour. I got the next canz code and those guys a little introduction into geocaching. Luckily I had some kiwis with me that knew the meaning of plinth. I guess I would be screwed at that point already. The found was quick once we were at gz
Had a lot of fun with this one...but must confess to a little help with another cacher. Thank you
Made a stupid mistake to start with and couldnt see what I had done wrong when the check sum was out. Duh. Got it right eventually and the log was duly signed. TFTC
A plan was hatched for another extreme, fly down, drive back caching weekend. funkymunkyzone, alpenmilch80 and myself flew down to Wellington on the first flight Saturday morning. We met up with vista at Petone in the Toyota Yaris rental car, as he'd flown down the previous day. We headed straight out of town and made a beeline for the start of our route at Featherston. We zig zagged our way through Wairarapa, Manawatu, Wanganui and Taranaki on our way back home to Auckland. To save time and log space, we stamped the logs as "Team AMFV".
Our 1500km / 40 hour drive consisted mainly of narrow gravel roads, some of which had spectacular scenery and views. Sorry for the copy/paste logs as its now all abit of a blur having only a few short naps in between. Many thanks to all the cache owners who have placed caches for us to find on another epic little adventure.
Our main reason for heading back home this way, to pick up another CANZ cache of course! TFTC!

Another fly-down-drive-back-caching weekend, this time in the company of mike-miss, alpenmilch80 and vistra. Three of us flew down very early on Saturday morning and met up with the other who had flown down the previous day. We headed straight out of Wellington, stopping just once to rendezvous with the other member of the team. We cached our way through the Wairarapa, Manawatu, Wanganui and Taranaki under the moniker "Team AMFV" (google it if you're interested, but it seemed appropriate for our mission).
We headed over the Rimutakas and started off with a loop of Lake Ferry before heading north and out into the back blocks.By the evening we were up around Masterton and heading back out into the sticks, criss-crossing Route 52 picking up cache finds along crazy little roads, the craziest of which were around Pongaroa, from where we headed back down and across to SH2 just north of Eketahuna, coming over the insane hills at Pori just after dawn. Spectacular.
We all piled into our little Toyota Yaris rental car, which had probably never seen such terrain before in its life, judging by the amount of clanging of metal on stones, and scraping of underbody on metal road centre. All part of the fun though, and nothing like taking 40.5 hours (with basically no sleep), over 1500km, to get from Wellington to Auckland, stopping at 288 caches along the way - 173 on Saturday and 115 on Sunday. I enjoy driving long distances, so I drove for about the first 26 hours plus a few more hours later on Sunday - also because I had designed the route so I knew fairly well the way we were going, and this time we made no mistakes!
Sorry for the largely copy/paste logs, but it's hard work remembering all the different caches. Some stood out from the others but we enjoyed every single one of them and were thankful for every single placement along the way. This trip, and the company, was fantastic and a fun but shatteringly tiring weekend.
One of the important goals of this trip... tick!
TFTC!!!

mike-miss, funkymunkyzone, vistra and I met early Saturday morning for a two-day-geocaching-trip and once we collected the smallest relocation car available (a green camouflaged Yaris) we were on our way. funkymunkyzone already descripted the route we took in detail and I am still very impressed how he managed mostly the driving without getting lost a single time. Clearly he has his own Topo map in his head . This was a great team effort and I enjoyed the groups spirits and its laughs along the way till the sleep finally got me after the last cache in Taranaki.
In total I collected with the "Team AMFV" 278 smiles along the way and the word "brace" is no longer foreign to me. I would like to give a big thanks to Skindo and all the other cache owners for all the placements along our tour and hope I don’t annoy too much with the copy and paste logs. TFTC

#5219. Nicely designed multi. Pretty quiet at both waypoint and GZ today. TNLNSL. TFTC.
It was finally time for KiwiFruitsNZ and Vamber to make their way back to Auckland - with a view to picking up a few more caches along the way, as well as tackling The Amazing Race multi by The Wonder Stuff.
An interesting multi that had us backtracking to secure the final cache. Interesting location for the final hide! And another CANZ cache secured!! (:-)

Day 5 of our New Year's geo-cation with KiwifruitsNZ, and this day marked our road trip back up the North Island, this time our destination: Taupo.
We quickly gathered all the necessary information and soon moved towards the final waypoint to collect the quick find. Thanks for the hide! Looking forward to gathering the rest of the CANZ caches!

After spending Christmas with family in Wellington, we made our way slowly North again, driving as far as Wanganui and collecting a few caches along the way. Another deviation, but a well needed one. We had decided on our travels to grab all the North Island CANZ caches that we didn’t already have. Once at GZ, we took a photo of the information needed, it had started to rain so we wanted to solve it in the car. Quickly had the coordinates and off to the final location. Quick walk between showers to grab the cache. TFTC!
Found orginally as part of phasevisitor team, now created own account, re-logging as yorkshirekiwi83.

Oh goody, another CANZ. The puzzle initially confused me, because the monument had more than four names, but then I found the right side and solved the questions. Quickly off to GZ, and in the pouring rain, a find. TFTC
My aim for the weekend was to explore Hawke's Bay - grabaseat airfare from Christchurch, rental car & the world was my (geocaching) oyster!
I was at Norsewood and had the foolish thought that it wouldn't be too far to go to get this CANZ... and so here I came. My car GPS seems to favour back roads - intersting journey.
Found the numbers and checksum didn' work - my powers of observation had diminished with evening coming. Searched harder and came up trumps (one of the 'O's had escaped me), then off to GZ.
Took TB. TFTC.

Well, it was time I left the Kapiti Coast searching for caches and get back on track of my main mission which is to visit all the remaining CANZ caches left in the NI for me.
Checksum agreed so it was off to get the final which was duly signed and the number recorded.
Cheers for the cache.
