15 July 2023 16:48 TFTC skindo for placing this cache, number 964 for me. Home to a lot of snails. But cache fine. Tftc.
Thanks for another cool spot for a cache.
A peaceful memorial here, and a nice dry log

Found this out with The Seagnoid and Itchyfeet2020. Nice quick find. All good, tftc!
Out for a fun afternoon of caching with matagouri and The Seagnoid and Ethermiss. TFTC.
(# 7375) A drive up from Wellington for a weekend of events, caching and social get together. This was found on day 2. A quick find. Thanks for bringing me here.
One of a few caches located today in Palmerston North and on the road to the Wairarapa, in between an Ad Lab or two! This was a quick find in a special setting. #5244. TFTC.
A nice quick find on a stunning day, driving home from visiting family. Nice to learn a little history of the area. Thank you!
Had part of our camper fly off, so had to stop to pick it up. Any caches nearby?... yep.
I'm finally heading for home and today is day two of my road trip from Turangi to Masterton. Time to find a few caches along the way. I must have driven past this a few times so not sure why I hadn't stopped to find it in the past. Today was the day to correct that. Cache spotted in the first place I checked. TFTC, Biggles.
Quick find by the memorial gate & ANZAC crosses attached to the fence. Was picturing the school building through the gate, thanks skindo.
I went off to Levin for the day to do some geocaching around that area. On the way over I found a few geocaches that had a higher number of favorite points.
Quick and easy stop just off the highway. I thought that the location was very tranquil! TFTC!

Thanks for taking us here. Would have missed it completely without geocaching. Nice hide. TFTC
Drove from masterton to palmerston north to visit a friend and saw there are a few caches on the way. So I stopped a couple of times to collect some more "smiles"on the map.
What a cool location. Thanks for bringing me here. Found it right away.

Wow, really interesting. One of the plaques is missing, so there was no mention of the school except for a roll of honour. Thanks for bringing us here.
These are beautiful old oak trees. Thanks for the little detour off the main road to this interesting site. TFTC.
Thank you for making me stop here and give my respects to those who sacrificed themselves so that I have the freedom to visit their memorial.
I loved this spot - the fancy gate and the Oak Trees were amazing! I can't believe that they are that old - they don't look a day over 70................ Thank you for placing the cache at this historically interesting spot! I love these types of hides.......
Our first day of Skindo back country gravel roads plus a few other caches on the way. Managed to find 49 caches and 2 DNF. TFTC.
Back in June of this year I got a huge Geocaching fright! Having spent quite some time attempting to solve as many Skindo Puzzle Caches in the Wairarapa as I could so I could spend more time over there exploring the country, I discovered that large numbers had been archived. Worse still, there was some talk on various forums as to whether someone should go around and collect them up rather than leave them in place to still be discovered.
So I have been itching for a chance to get over to the Wairarapa and try to find as many as I could before they disappear forever, and with Spring here and Daylight Saving having now kicked in, Stardust 718 and I teamed up to go and explore some of the northern half of the region. There would still be a lot of ground to cover (I drove about 350km today) and the weather wasn't being the most helpful to us, but we figured it would still be worth it as there would be quite a few other caches to find along the way too.
This particular cache was a relatively quick and easy find at GZ, which was great as we really wanted to push on and get as many caches found today as possible. The log was quickly signed with both our names and then it was back to the car to dash off to the next one.
Thank you for having placed all these caches in the first place, and for keeping as many as possible going.

Vacations 2019 - Road trip trough New Zealand
With Geoesposa, this was my 50th anniversary. 16 days, 4200Kms and a few hundreds smilles after, i was sure i saw nothing....
I liked everything, the friendly and civilized people, the way the country works, the roads and especially the natural beauty of New Zealand.
I fell in love....
I decided to go back in 5 years, I easily see myself living my last days somewhere lost in any stunning scenery of this wonderful country.
With the itinerary studied at home, the caches were the ones that were in the chosen places, and a few used to stretch the legs. It was decidedly not the most important on this trip. Of all the visited, only half a dozen did not appear, all being in good health except two or three.
I will use this generic log, not for disrespect of the owners, but due to the amount of caches visited. Here the majority of caches serve to show something beautiful (as it should be), not giving importance to the container.
My thanks to all the ownwers who, allied to the natural beauty of the country, have made this vacation unforgettable.

Another amazing place that geocaching has brought us to that we would have otherwise never known existed. TFTC.
Found in its snug nest late on a wet Sunday afternoon. Log sheet was damp and falling apart so new log added. TFTC
Sad to see such old buildings disappear. Great gates and lovely, gnarled oaks. TFTC
Neat gates and easy parking and quick find much needed to help with the museum detective work TFTC
Day 2 of our Road Trip
Early start today, weather fine but very cold.
Heading south we detoured up side roads, some sealed some gravel.
Caches like yesterday that needed log sheets replacing as they were so wet we couldn't sign them. Just as well we bought new log sheets and bags with us.
The huge numbers of caches in this area we know that we will have to return on another trip.
Always great to visit new areas. Thanks for the cache placements. SLTFTC

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)...
We have been planning for Queen's Birthday weekend for some time - routes and caches were identified and mapped, and Gap solved a whole lot of puzzles in readiness for this adventure. We scoured many online logs and took note of the condition of the caches and their logbooks. We determined to replace any containers and logbooks where there was a dire need - This is not usually our habit and is quite time consuming; but we are enthusiastic cachers and believe in doing our bit for the wider caching community...
After overnight rain, the early morning was quite dark and gloomy. However, as the morning wore on, the sun came out, and it was quite warm if one could find a sheltered spot out of the wind... We set off with the intention of caching our way to Masterton and zipping in and out of any side roads as well. The proliferation of caches in this area would definitely keep us busy today... Our iPhone gps seemed to point to the outer tree, but we had to look within. We quickly scanned the commemorative fenceline before moving on. Thanks Skindo and TFTC.

Thanks for bringing us to this cache, so handy to SH. Amazing to see more ANZAC crosses included here. Cache all dry, signed & replaced as found. TFTC
On the way home after a week cycling in the Wairarapa Region. Thanks for hiding Skindo.
A brief stop to rest as I was passing. Amazing little places tucked away in the country side. There was a car parked there but no person in sight. There was a little geotrail to cache. A recent find. Yes Yesterday. Signed and away we go. Thank you for the placement.
Quick park and grab just on last light. Driven this route many times and had no idea this little memorial was here. Thanks for bringing me here and TFTC.
Today's plan is to sign off solved puzzles mainly to the west of SH2 a d Eketahuna along with most of the trads inbetween.
I apologise to all the COs for the generic logs as I signed off quite a few caches today.
Cheers for the cache.

A big day over in the Wairarapa today, picking up a few A-Z caches and as many 2:2 caches as I could, plus attempting to clear the Planetary Pursuit challenge in one day.
An interesting spot with no sign of anything beyond the gate/memorial. The cache was a quick find once I worked out what side of the fence I needed to be on. TFTC

Found this on our way home from 5 nights in Castlepoint. Thanks. We like the old Oak trees that were planted in 1902.
We have been on holiday in party of 25 campervans with the Caravan Club from England and have tried to find at least one geocache in each place we have stopped - had a fair amount of luck and the map of New Zealand should show our journey. Thanks to you all for leaving them for us to find.
On our way to stay with friends in Upper Hutt after attending a conference in Palmerston North. We don't come this way very often, so Geocaching was the order of the day.
Arrived at GZ to be welcomed by two large Hare. A quick find by Mrs S.
Took TB. Difficult to extract from small container.
Thanks skindo. One more smilie on the road south.

#2373. Another dot day. Time for an expedition to skindoland to find some targeted caches and get a few series wrapped up and keep the numbers ticking over. With a good weather forecast I headed off to the Wairarapa in the morning. Once north of Masterton I was into the business end of the day with the majority of my 45 targeted caches lying between here and Woodville. Found 44 of them today plus one DNF of what seems to be a missing cache. Ended up at Woodville at nightfall and stopped for a feed of fish and chips. Listened to the first rugby test (Wales vs NZ) as I drove back to Wellington having completed my first ever circumnavigation of the Tararuas in a day. A nicely presented memorial. Clearly the Wairarapa locals take a lot of pride in their history. Initially searched for the cache in several wrong places but soon realised where it would be and it was quickly found after that. Signed the dry logbook and returned cache as found. Thanks for hiding it here.
Enjoying the drive around these back country roads collecting skindo caches.
A nice quick find here and a nice area I would never have visited were it not for geocaching.
TFTC and for bringing me to this interesting spot.

For the amount of cobwebs surrounding caches I expected this hasn't been found for while, not a month ago. Tftc
Found it with Team FIN [janahola, kapeka, laalaa & temyllyl]
We had fun with caching few weeks here in New Zealand. Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was pretty good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and really scenary country!
Greetings from Finland

On a geoholiday road tripping to Christchurch MEGA and around beautiful New Zealand. Our four people group (temyllyl, laalaa, kapeka and myself) from Finland used group tag FIN to log the caches.
Welcome to MEGA Finland in 5-7 august 2016!
Today our trip continued to Taupo. Of course some caching on the way. We had lots of fun and saw many nice places and caches. Thanks for the cache!

14th day on our geo-roadtrip in New Zealand, and caching our way towards north. Logged using our group nickname FIN with janahola, laalaa and kapeka. After having a blast in South Island and in Christchurch Mega event, we had to start heading back home. Fortunately we still had few days left to spend in NZ while driving to Auckland.
Found on a trip to Pahiatua with haithi.kiwi. TFTC

As well as looking for the next cache to stop for, we were looking for a place to enjoy our picnic lunch. By a stroke of luck this place was just what we needed. Grabbed the cache, signed the log, then explored the contents of the chilly bin to find something to eat. All the time the oak trees protected us from a rather heavy shower. - - - Yes, I know, the countryside could have done with lots more. - - - Kind of sad to see this neglected site, but there are hundreds like it up and down the country and, well, it's called progress you know. TFTC .
A quick find thanks to the hint. We ended up spending quite some time here imagining what the site must have been like. Cache in very good & dry condition. TNLNSL TFTC
A quick stop and find. Thanks.
