I really hate writing this log as the cache is a wonderful cache. But it's been completely and utterly destroyed. Bits of wood are scattered everywhere. The muggles that destroyed have written various notes about destroying it many containing expletives and phrases normally seen on the doors of public toilets. The worse part is they have made return visits and mention plans to come back so even repairing this cache wouldn't work as these muggles know and do actually return for more destruction. If the parts to this cache need to be recovered please contact me. Very saddened to write this to such a wonderful cache

After coming to this cache several months ago and failing to successfully finish this cache due to missing parts we came past to see if the news was correct and that the cache had been detroyed. Sadly it was true the cache was in pieces. It really made both Ikkibrady and I sad to see on of the if not the best multi we had done/ attempted to be left in such a state, In my opinion this cache will have to sadly be taken down, I woukd like to avoid that to allow other to complete this cache properly but at this stage this is not going to happen. Many a phrases were thought about the Beverage Bandits but not said. I would like to thank you for the cache so much, but this cache is on its last legs Sad

This is a wonderful cache which I think has run its day. The muggles that destroyed have made return visits and they will probably return again. Loved the cache. And it's with a heavy heart I say it needs to go

This treasure has been met by Lachlan O'Loughlan's nemeses
The mercenary band The Beverage Bandits
They and their alcoholism have wreaked havoc

Only a mere shipwreck remains

This was our first multi cache, we found it but did not get the full potential out of it. It had been vandalized by someone and missing bits and pieces . Still had fun finding it.

02-Nov-16
The cache has been so destroyed. Muggles have been and pulled apart the box. would have loved to see this in good condition. TFTC

02-Nov-16
Found it but it's been muggled twice and partially destroyed. Was a great cache too! Log book was still there so we signed it.

I'm saying this is a dnf for the moment but not entirely true. Found all the way points with little to no problem which excited me based on past logs as I thought that's where our problems might lie but in the end there was a part at gz that just did not work which based on the most recent log worried me a little. Seeking some info from other past finders and will come back

12-Jun-16
Found it. But the key is broken so we cannot open the box.

20-Apr-16
I think a maintenance run at GZ and the WPs is required as some of the items have been affected by the salty environment making completion of the multi a little tricky.

Came with a friend. Couldnt even find the bag for the starting point. Was definitely in the right place according to coordinates Sad

I set out with my boys for a day of fun and adventure day the peninsula, to find this cache and to finally complete the BTU series as well. With perfect weather we enjoyed to drive to the back beach where we found a good spot to park before heading up the track and over the dunes to the first location.
We made our way through the scrub and began to search when we found the treasure. Hmmm . . we wouldn't be getting into it that easy by the looks of it. With the info we gathered there we had our next little adventure where we recorded our findings then headed back to GZ. We struggled for what seemed like ages (well it was actually) and a can of WD40 would have come in handy as nothing seemed to want to move. We were almost ready to give up when the lock finally did what it was supposed to do and with great relief we signed the log.
Great views from here too and a fav from us. Thanks TKR.

Came with HughMcW and searched for more than an hour. Still couldn't find it after phoning a friend. Either we're blind or it is muggled. Hopefully its still there but not sure how we could miss a cache of this size.

Our final cache for the day and our only DNF. This was our aim for the day - McWillid and I had been planning for this cache for weeks now, waiting for the right tide and weather. Today seemed like a good day so we decided to do a bit of the Bay Trail and finish with this cache. We arrived at GZ and started searching for a bit - after about 45 minutes, we couldn't find anything so had to PAF. Even after getting a big hint, we couldn't find the container. After over an hour of looking, we decided to go home and come back another day. Not sure if we were just cache blind or if it has been removed/muggled. Disappointing. At least we got to see a part of the peninsula which I never would have visited if it weren't for Geocaching. Great views. I look forward to visiting in the future.

Out and about today chasing some D/T combinations, started in Tooradin and working my way down through Arthur's Seat, Cape Schanck and Rye Back Beach before heading for home again.
Hmm, crashed and burned, well almost. Found GZ, found WP1, found WP2 and collapsed on the ground trying to work out the puzzle for the next. Just exhausted after the previous caches today and I can't think. Photographed the clues to be worked on tomorrow at home. I will return to conquer at the next opportunity. Love the cache!
Thanks for placing this cache TKR°

We returned to gz after feeling we had missed something yesterday. After investing so much effort to retrieve the vital information we were determined to make sense of things. Overnight we realised what we had skipped, and after a discussion with a previous finder, we were pretty sure where we needed to go. On discovering the missing bits this morning we couldn't wait to enter our new info, we felt like we'd already won the prize. Back to GZ and "woo hoo", everything fell into place, we were very happy cachers. Thanks for an amazing and challenging cache, a cache worthy of many stories. Favourite point from us.

We were over this side of the bay from Geelong for some caching fun.
We started this one late in the afternoon the day before but had to give up as we found we could not continue to the next wp due to the tide being in.
So we came back the next day and ventured to the watery wp, there we saw some friendly asian blokes spear fishing around the area but they did not seem to worry about what we were doing and just commented on how beautiful the area was.
We got to the next wp and were totally confused so a PAF or a few were in order and off we went to GZ.
After a lot of fumbling around we got to sign the log.
This one was sure a great adventure.
Thanks to TKR° for this fun cache.

A tremendous adventure! This started last night when after doing another nearby cache we headed up here to get the first part done but we left empty handed, looking here and there for clues. The text went out to gjmmelb for some help and they responded with some great clues pointing us to the location (a little bit west of gz) . So this morning at low tide we ventured out again taking a quicker route than last night and reached GZ to quickly find the box. The next wp was carefully navigated to and with a bit teamwork Paige read out the next wp. This is where we got a bit lost, thinking that there was another sea level clue and finding a suitable location(within 10 metres) we delved deep and low but there was nothing to be found. Another lifeline was used and gjmmelb showed us the way, our coords were ok , the elevation was not. So back up to GZ and onward to the Puzzle which Paige and maddi quickly figured out. To the box and all of Locks' locks were unlocked and logbook signed , flag unfurled and photo taken with pa_i_ge maaddii Jodie and myself . Many thanks to the COs who keep this cache going , we secured the box in one of the plastic garbage bags left here , fav point for sure - great way to start the day Smile

After coming last night at low and having no luck finding the box at GZ, we called for help and returned at low tide this morning, quick find of the box at GZ, took the walk down to WP1, with some team work we climbed up to collect the coords.
Headed around to WP2 before realising the tide was coming in and we were not where we wanted to be, after another call we were soon solving a puzzle and heading back to GZ, we soon had cache and flag in hand!
TFTC maaddii.otoole, atsmug and I had a great time Smile

This cache is close to where we are staying on holidays and looked like a challenge. We had several trips down to this one and a fair bit of assistance from the CO. Thanks Smile It was a great adventure. Initially I was a bit confused as to what to look for. A phone call to the co put me straight. Despite having the information MMelb and friend were keen to go looking for wp1 so we headed out at low tide. After a lot of climbing & fun we found what we needed and headed to the next wp. Here we got stuck and decided to quit. The co sent me some information but i decided to check if we could find the next info. With all of GJMMelb involved in the hunt we did find the puzzle, which was about 10m out from where we expected. We needed to get back to the Holiday house tho coz we had been shopping & had ice-cream in the car!!!
So tonight we all came back and opened the box with MMelb working out the final puzzle. Thanks tkr and team oakey for the cache and all the help - GJMMelb - a fave point from us Smile

Long on the radar for me I took a party of four on this attempt to find this cache. This coast was looking magnificent and wild. I couldn't imagine being a surfer out there but there they were on a winter afternoon. GZ was located after a meander that unfortunately took us through some sensitive areas. The track is hard to pick up from the west. We trod very lightly. The adventurous bit was very exciting and the information soon found. RCFM, the eagle eyes, found the next part. Although the logic of the field puzzle was clear the order confused us and a flurry of PAFs ensued. Before crossing that hurdle two of our party got bored and wandered back to the car. It was also getting colder and darker so fair enough. Once the log book was in hand the remarkable box was reassembled and the warmth of the car regained. Thanks for a lot of fun and adventure on a mild winter Sunday afternoon. Great story but it led me to a fruitless web search on the identity of Buckley's fellow escapees.

We were heading over to Black Hawk Down today due to the awards that it received recently. As it was Easter Sunday...I couldn't really get away till late, so caught the 3pm ferry from Queenscliff.
This cache has been on my radar for a while now. I'm not sure how I became aware of it..but I'm glad it did.
My only regret is that we were short on time against the daylight clock.
I had communicated with Team Oakey beforehand , so had the heads up on the clues as I knew we'd be cutting it fine with sunset descending upon us.
Wp1 was discovered. Although the bag was looking very tired, it certainly added to the whole cache presentation. The cache container was in excellent condition.
Off to wp1. This part was the highlight for Geosons day. The coords were found and entered, but then to the next Wp2, this eluded us. It may be there, but we moved on as the sun was falling.
Back at Gz, the puzzle as it turns out, we had it nutted out, but hadn't applied the solution. A paf to the Co gave us the answer, and when we realised the solution, geoson says "You've got that drawn and written
down there Dad".! ...Doh !
This is a brilliantly thought out and created cache. I loved every aspect of it. The cache description , creation, location, etc. this ticks all the boxes.
A definitive favourite.
Big thanks to the creator and to Team Oakey for maintaining it.
I rank this one in my top 5 all time cache finds. A definite favourite.
My only regret was not allowing enough time to do this properly . I suggest at least two hours .
Cheers
Dog-gone.

#568, found with Dog-Gone and geoson Connor.

Dog-Gone and I had made plans to mount a night rescue mission at Blackhawk Down. Dog-Gone had been doing some research and we decided to add this one to the list, so over on the ferry we came. After parking the car, we took a wrong turn and ended up having to make the approach across 300m of dry, soft sand, which gave legs and lungs a big workout !

At GZ, the chest was soon found (the canvas bag needs replacing..unlike the actual cache, it has not stood the test of time at all well) and we set about solving the puzzle. We soon had the coords for WP2, where Connor and DogGone did the honours. Upon entering the coordinates, their GPSr had us right back at GZ. We puzzled around a little before using PAF. We were unable to locate the puzzle for WP2, but having had some pics texted, we tried various options and combinations and failed to come up with the goods, whereupon with daylight fading and missing airmen to be rescued, PAF was invoked again and we were set straight. Turns out we had actually come withing a whisker of solving it.

What a brilliant cache, great story and a top location and the container itself is a masterpiece. It throroughly deserves every one of the favourite points it has (and it now has one more !). A big thanks to teamkilrye for the cache and especially to team Okey for the ongoing care and feeding.

What can I say, but WOW!
Ok, this one certainly has it all. Loved the locations, the construction and the puzzle!
Unfortunately WP2 seems to be missing again (or maybe I just couldn't find it), but with the help of a previous finder who texted me some pics I was able to piece together the puzzle bit by bit. With a little more help from my phone a friend I had the log book in hand!

How could anyone not give this one a favourite point?

Thanks teamkilrye for the cache
Thanks Team Oakey for the maintenance.

The mission today was to clear out Point Nepean night caches as well as pickup a few odd caches to allow the maps in parts to now be clear. Another epic run with Ahomburg and TeamOaky who joined us for the night caches. Great fun and the weather today and tonight was just perfect.

This cache is just amazing, the amount of detail in all elements is outstanding. We last attempted this one in late January and due to missing puzzle elements were not able to finish it. However today having received some additional information on what was missing, we made the approach and I was very confident as I thought I had understood the puzzle and it would therefore be a quick pickup. Wrong. There are many twists to this cache and there was one that I had not noticed and clearly I had once more over analysed the problem. Luckily a PAF was used which gave us a shove over the line. WOW!! So very cool.[^] I highly recommend this cache, a favorite. TFTC teamkilrye and to TeamOaky for the cache maintenance.

Find # 2881

After a bit of a late start today due to me having to work, my caching partner sedgwickDave and I decided to head to the Mornington Peninsula to attempt to find a few nemesis caches as well as the night caches out at Point Nepean.

This cache is easily one of the best and most well thought out caches I have done. Such a lot of planning has gone into the final hide. Due to it being muggled, we could not find WP2 back in January when we first started this cache, but an email to TeamOaky and we had the information we needed to get access to GZ.... Or so we thought. It turned out we had over analysed the info we needed to get access. Anyway, a phone a friend later and the cache was accessed and after the final twist was unlocked, the treasure was ours.

Thanks to teamkilrye for the cache. A favourite point awarded for this one.

Unfortunately WP 2 (field puzzle) keeps going AWL. I've just replaced the puzzle in the CO absences again but seems no use putting it back in the cave, so placed it a short distance from its original location, mostly likely will place some tags in the cave with co-ords to its new location. Until then feel free to contact me for a hint.
Way to good a cache to let die with so few finders
Cheers
TeamOaky

Tags with co-ords for new puzzle are in place, one as per clue on cache page and for good measure one on left hand side as you enter.
Good luck and remember this cache is for the more adventitious

Definite Favourite. Found with Biger12, MrMcGee and Saulman1010. We decided to head out and grab this one while doing a few others in the area. After scrambling along and up the dune to get to the WP, we discovered the first object. Immediately this cache went from a fun outing to cool. The story itself helped place our team in another realm. We solved the first trick and then proceeded to the next location. Saulman1010 stayed back with the boys and off the edge i went…… well i do love my climbing Smile Yes as stated it would be at the point where i entered the caves, i heard a crack and my cameras screen had decided to tryout a new fashion statement…. The Crack….. (Third rep lament). After a few choice words i made my way into the WP locating and proceeded to search, and search and search…. knowing i was missing something i retreated and PAF who reassured i was in the right spot but obivisouly the puzzle pieces had gone missing. Thanks to mms i received the photos of the puzzle pieces to work with. I returned to Saulman who's first words were not…. "how did you go?" but "in ten more seconds i was going to call SES"…. Anyway i proceeded to tell him about the camera… expletives removed Smile Off to play with the next stage in the puzzle and after some head scrambling …. the lightbulb moment occurred and Bingo. Thanks for a great story, puzzle and adventure…. Well Worth it.

Well, this one was MUCH more than we expected.
Team Mornington out and about today, to grab a few orphans around the peninsula on a dull Sunday afternoon. Biger12, Hazey1, MrMcGee and Saulman1010
Always appreciate the work extra work that CO's put in - THIS is caching.
Great story, fantastic location and excellent cache.
Had Hazey1 and I head scratching for over an hour, thinking, re thinking the eventual puzzle.
the 2nd stage exploration was something that we hope for on geocaching expeditions but very rarely get - thank god. Hazey1 led the charge here and he has a few choice words to share on this stage of the puzzle, I wont steal his thunder, but.....need a new camera Hazey?....AGAIN?
Thank you soooo much for the cache, Geeze I wish there were more like this.
This one has set the bar nice and high.
-If the CO' will indulge me with a hint for those who follow - there is no need to bend, force or unscrew anything on the "cache" - it all works.
Ohh and would not recommend the cache for younger kids - climbing and cliff edges and high tide / waves warning! But well worth the effort!!

Thanks heaps.

Wow . Found with Shogun.
Highly recommend this cache.
You need to think a little but if you read the cache description carefully you should eventually work it out.
Thoroughly enjoyed doing this .
Congratulations, a very well thought out cache and my alltime fave.

AWESOME! SPECTACULAR!! BRILLIANT!!!

* BEST EVER FIELD PUZZLE

* FUN

* TOTALLY AWESOME ADVENTURE

* CLEVERLY CONSTRUCTED

The best of it's kind by far - well thought out in every detail - executed beautifully. Personal score 9/10 and most definitely a fav - shall recommend!

Many thanks to TeamOaky for maintaining this cache - without your time and maintenance efforts this beauty would surely be lost.
Also last BUT not least many thanks to TeamKilrye. I'm sure I speak for all ... appreciate the time & effort that goes into the making of "The legend of Lachlan O'Loughlan

Added to my "TOP HIDES" list - Lok'n fwd to the next chapter. Big Grin

Hi TeamOaky,

Yes! Good idea send the pic's - I'm planning to give it a go BUT not willing if it keeps getting muggled - be a waste of time to otherwise make the effort.

Thx Mark.

Was very excited about attempting this cache due to the amazing logs and the 100% favorites to finds ratio. Well we started out and work our way thru to WP2 but that is as far as we got. Spent probably 90mins searching for it looking all over the general area, up, down left right under over etc.... Finally we had to admit defeat and hopefully return soon to finish this one. Am pretty sure WP2 is missing. Would love to complete this one as was blown way with the detail seen so far at WP1 and just the mystery and story told so far told. I'll watch this and hopefully WP2 can be checked soon.Sad Still had fun and its just awesome terrain for geocaching.Big Grin

Looks like the replacement field puzzle has gone again. If anyone is interested in doing this one I can send some photos of the puzzle that will get you by for now

Where do I begin!
For starters this cache would have to be the best one I have done. Have been here seven times with BorisB&Natasha to try and find WP2 not aware that it was missing. The puzzle had us scratching our heads for a little while but it then it all fell into place. Although each visit was becoming increasingly frustrating it was sooooo worth it in the end. Absolutely love the work that has gone into creating this cache, wish there were more of this standard. Took TB. Thanks to teamkilrye for this amazing adventure and a special thanks to TeamOaky for all his help. Will highly recommend and a massive Fav point from me! Big Grin

Where do I begin.......
As previous finders have said WOW & AWESOME, I'll add ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. This cache has everything, breathtaking views, a few hairy moments (which are alway good) a great puzzle & a fantastic & well constructed cache at the end of it all. Thanks for this find must go solely to TeamOaky. Without his assistance & persistence in keeping WP2 alive we would never have been able to complete it. This has been a bit like groundhog day for Pea bear & I, but at last on Boxing Day (which seems quite appropriate) we can say we've done it & I'm so glad we persevered. Hope this cache lasts for a long time so others can experience the same thrills we did. A BIG fav point from us. Thankyou

This ones Back Up!

But if you are planning to have a go at it, best make it sooner than later as I believe the 2nd WP’s hide has become compromised. I’ve placed the container with the new field puzzle in a slightly new spot
(Go to the very back, a little bit up and left)

There is one item I haven’t replicated so I have included a photo of said item

Hope it lasts until the CO’s back as it’s an excellent Geocache

Cheers TeamOakyBig Grin

Today was the 2nd time I have attempted this one. Both times with an additional set of eyes. I love doing puzzles but can't even find what I'm supposed to find at WP1. Am I stupid or just blind. Will continue to keep an eye on it as I would love to complete it one day. TFTC

[teal] WOW! WOW!! WOW!!![/teal]

What an amazing adventure following in the foot steps of Lachlan O'Loughlan.

Our first attempt was thwarted by time constraints as one of the team had to be else where at a certain time. And after spending way too much time on the first WP, looking for the required info. We eventually made the very surprising discovery, then after a bit more head scratching we were able to carefully make our way to the next waypoint. Now I’m going to blame time constraints here as we were completely stumped at this point and after deciding we had no more time left we carefully packed everything up and headed off vowing to return.

After discussing a few ideas in the car on how the puzzle may work, I returned this afternoon. I was having a look at WP 1 again when along came what I first thought was a muggle and thankfully turned out to be another cacher (SheppyTheKid) After explaining what stage I was up to, we headed off to the next WP to try out the new theory.

After letting Sheppy find and retrieve the next Waypoint, everything just seemed to fall into place and we were soon signing our names in this very well put together cache.

Thx Teamkilrye a brilliant cache on so many levels.

You have managed to raise the bar to a new height

Must also give credit to "Unluckycharm" who wasn't able to return to sign the log but she was instrumental in solving the field puzzle
