A decade on, it's time to retire this one. Thanks to all who visited it while it was active.
Stopped to do this waterfall loop. A nice walk a bit muddy in some places.
This one was not close to where my gps was saying to look. Had searched for quite awhile before saying we will head off. Then took a photo of the other fall and thought I would give a quick look close by and made a quick find.

Log is soaked, but would be pretty hard to keep anything dry down here. TFTC
A last minute decision by Mr & MrsD to bring our geodogs for a walk through the waterfalls in this area. A beautiful place to visit, but as hard as we tried we were unable to locate the cache. With no reception and no hint we made hard work of the hunt. After 20 minutes we pulled the pin and moved on to another DNF!
Good find with the spoiler photo, although a few things have changed since back then! Cache has a large hole in it and needs a clip lock bag for the logs (still somehow dry!). No pencil, so photo log will have to suffice. TFTC!!!
Gps was all over the place, and of course I didn’t check the photos... after scrambling around geoson found after 10 mins. Love this spot. Shame the picnic table is no more! Cache in good condition apart from previously mentioned hole. Tftc
Found it - beautiful spot and GPS is pretty close - took 5 minutes but then easy find - container has a hole in it but condition ok - TFTC
Another DNF, It has not been a good couple of days, Plenty of indications (tracks, Loose rocks, Small shelf areas) but no cache,
With a bit of scrambling around due to bad internet, took a while to find. But got there eventually. Box has a hole. Tftc
GPS had us looking elsewhere until we finally looked at the helper photo. Lovely spot to enjoy these falls. Tftc.
Up in the Mountains today with Smudgeycat and finding a few caches along the way.
This one part of the Lawson Waterfall Circuit.
No hint so wandered around here for a while and had a seat at the picnic table!
Another nice spot here by the waterfall. My pen didn't work here, so took some photos instead. Found with Smudgeycat MM. TFTC

disabled due to bushfire hazard across the whole blue mountains - likely to be closed till autumn
Due to the vagueness of the GPS, I started following what looked like a cachers trail to a likely looking location, but coming up empty handed I finally resorted to the spoiler photo. That soon led me to the right place. The container looks like it's been attacked by vermin, with a large hole in the side. However the log is nice and dry.
A group of us carpooled and house hopped to the mountains for a day caching and bushwalking. Thanks for taking me I had a fun day. Thanks for the cache hide.
TFTH *Geomonster10* a group of us carpooled (*10011010*, *HappyUke*, *SueDan83*, *Little Kitten*) in one car for a trip up the mountains, while *DustyJasperJet* and I were in my car, all out for some fun caching.
Our trusty guide DanSue38 had been talking about two beautiful loop walks up in the Blue Mountains. The more he talked about them the more people jumped on board for the walk... he is that convincing! The date was set and the leapfrog carpooling was organised. Again we got a day with perfect weather. Luckily with the rain last week the waterfalls could show off a bit of their splendour. The GPS was a bit bouncy due to the tall rocks and canopy... with a bit of a search, all the caches were finally found. Little Kitten was in her element climbing, jumping, swinging and sliding to each cache... definitely now Little Panther! It was a great day, beautiful scenery and fantastic company... can’t wait to hear more of DanSue38’s stories. Thanks for placing this cache... it gave us a reason to come here!
Needs a replacement box as it has a hole, I would use the picture to find it as it is hard to find
Yesterday geobrother (Dogwood53) and I decided to join up and attack a group of caches on the southern side of Lawson and Hazelbook. Well actually the Hazelbrook part morphed into the Lawson part, once we got onto the Cataract circuit walk. Beautiful overcast day just perfect for a good walk. Amazing how many young people and families there were out there – great to see. We will have to return soon and seek out the caches in the wilds south of here.
We were literally up the junction on this one. Would not have found it without the photo clue as we were looking at the wrong falls, the GPS being so erratic in this area. Great spot though.

Having recently grabbed a bag of caches on the north side of the Highway at Hazelbrook with geobrother (Forereach) we decided to launch out again today but on the south side this time. Weather forecast was not promising but we spent a lovely cool morning on our mission before showers started in the early afternoon. Picked up this cache while on the Loop Walk. We passed a number of walkers on the track including John the "Captain" of a Korean bushwalking group from Sydney who was doing a recce for future walks. Loved the waterfalls. They might be flowing more profusely this arvo if the forecast storms arrive!!
We found this Cache in our first australian holliday. Thank you for the Cache and greatings from germany, YaTaDi.
Even though TheRedViking is my old old old old account, I actually had no idea where tgis cache was. TFTC (lol.)

Got this with my dad, mum and sister doing the waterfall walk. I like this and the other waterfalls
Went on a walk with dad and mum (and brother). Really liked this area with all the waterfalls, some had little beaches at the bottom. Lots of people were walking the track so we had to wait a lot before we could start searching. TFTC
Tftc - searched for 30 min around the table while fam ate some lunch. Found a second platform above the falls which was rather cool. Check pic again and realised we were in the totally wrong spot. Proceeded to the right GZ and found easily. CAche has been eaten through the plastic container into the log itself. Great walk down on the falls loop, kids love it down here.
last time I was here; a few years ago, I bush bashed from the golf course cache, eventually found the correct track and then was defeated by the lack of reception at GZ. I now realise I was looking in completely the wrong place. I made sure to look at the spoiler photo before reception was sketchy but I also think few more years caching experience helped as well. there were a couple of muggles just behind us but it was no hardship to just chill waiting for them to wander off to the next falls. tftc TheRedViking
i thought I was at a different cache and was surprised to see the title of this one on the log. Oh well, a cache is a cache, right. TFTC
Took us a while to find this as we were looking at the other place first for a long time. Without signal we couldn't look at the spoiler photo. After walking away from GZ we were able to make a phone call, get the spoiler photo and voila! TFTC, we have been to this place many times, but this time was special!
Our first free Sunday without kids sports and a beautiful day need a walk and what better walk then this one. Plenty of waterfalls and a nice easy track.

Forgot to download photo before we left but we were lucky enough to find this one anyway. Took a trackable Lovely spot. Thanks for the find!
We have walked the waterfall circuit many times before we geocached and this time we were pleased to have a cache to find along the route, it is a lovely walk and we had a great time splashing under the falls. We had the spoiler photo downloaded but we found the cache straightaway. Took the two bugs and left one behind.
Thanks Jonnosan
Thanks Jonnosan
Found with Shuckypoo, Harry, Jimmy and Kirsty. We were looking at the wrong waterfall at first! Jimmy spotted a huge yabby, but the rest of us missed him
Then we moved to the other waterfall and suddenly we were standing in a spot where the spoiler photo made sense! Jimmy discovered the cache and there was much rejoicing! Great location. Took a trackable and left one of our own plus another one. TFTC

Favourite. Great waterfalls here worth the walk. No need to bush bash. Difficult to find the actual cache. Difficult to position spoiler photo but logs saying they were at the wrong waterfall helped in the end. Tftc
Found a17m with a 4m accuracy. What an awesomely amazing area. Toofer 1 wasserfalls. Brilliant.
Miss geodog had the most exuberant time running up and down the waterfall base and into the creek. This is truly a magical spot when you arrive at ground zero and stop to look and appreciate the atmosphere.
This has to get a favourite rating and I will be back with friends.
Thank you jonnosan for leading me to this little haven.

7/ 07/15. 8:30 AM. Cache #2657. Streak day #380.
I got up early to go caching in Lawson this morning, with this particular cache in my sights. It was hidden on 30 May (the year is irrelevant) and that was the last Hidden Date within a calendar year that I hadn't found a cache for. There are slim pickings for "30 May" caches around Sydney and none of the 2015 crop (around Central Coast & Wollongong) appealed.
I parked at the Honour Ave car park and then realised that I only had the iPhone on me. I'd left the GPS back at the house in Leura. But then again, reading logs, maybe poor satellite reception would make a phone no less useful, so off I went. I made good time along the track, despite quite a bit of mud in places. I then got to within 20m, but at a much higher level. It looked like I needed to get down lower but I wasn't sure if that was the case, nor could I work out how to get down there. I really wanted the spoiler photo, but then I realised that I only had SOS coverage here.
So guess how far back I had to go to get 3G reception to download the spoiler photo and other details. Yeah, just a short way from the car. So, I ended up pretty much walking each way twice! Did a Webby, I did! Finally with the photos downloaded on my phone, I pressed along further than I'd gone before and saw that the track did indeed twist and turn enough to get me down to the bottom of the falls.
Now I had two sets of falls to compare to the photo. One looked close, but the second one I tried was an even better match. A short look around before I spotted a hide and headed up to make the find. Yess!!!! 366 out of 366! Signed log and dropped in a GC before heading back up the now very familiar track to the car. I wanted to get a few this morning but as this one took so long, I maybe only had time for one more. Headed north for "San Jose" next. TFTC.

After a lunch break Phlphotos and I were back for some more caches. Phil was quite familiar with these tracks from before joining this way-of-life and pointed out the way around the trails.
Soon enough we were at where our GPS's pointed. The search was on. Unfortunately we didn't remember to look at the photo hint before reaching the area, and there was no phone reception to correct that, so we were searching blind.
After checking every place, high and low about the given gz, we thought about the name of the cache and expanded our search area.
We found it easily then, with a clear GPS signal on the dedicated devices and smart phones about 30m away from the given coordinates.
Thanks for the cache.

#292 had lunch at Lawson before coming here to have a go at finding this cache, I have been in here before while doing photography of the falls. The last time however was the day I had bought a GPSr to try this fun game. At the time I got to GZ on New Years Day expecting to be able to have a search but there were about 30 people around the 2 falls trying to cool off, so I kept on going. This time we had the place to ourselves to have a search. We tried here & there & couldn't get a line on the cache and then tried another spot and there it was. There is another signature in the cache but they haven't logged their find. Thanks for placing the cache in this area
I decided to walk to this one from "time for Tee" cache and ended up well and truly bush bashing my way to the track. I started off following a track - or so I thought, must have been a kangaroo highway. I figured I'd hit the reserve track eventually and hoped it was in a spot i could get down to it, i was lucky in that respect. well your right about the gps being all over the place, it had me dancing from side to side, then i recalled the spoiler photo, but not well enough it seems as I didn't find the cache. re-looking at the photo now I spent most of my time looking in the wrong spot entirely. LOL. who cares its such a pretty spot I'll be back to have another go for sure, i might just bring the photo along too next time.
cheers for the adventure today

I went for a late Sunday afternoon walk down to my favourite local waterfall (which is just down the street from my place). My GPS was certainly not giving me very reliable directions as I got close, so I'm mighty glad I took the spoiler photo with me - and even with it, it took me a bit of searching before I was able to find the correct spot!
When I got to the cache there was a pretty cool critter guarding it - a cricket that was almost as big as my hand!
Thanks Jonnosan.

Mrs ASO wanted to send me to Hospital for surgery this morning, she slept in long enough for me to recover and formulate a plan to prove I was ok with out surgery, we tested the plan with a short walk to a newly placed cache in Hazelbrook things went well with that, and for some reason she pressed things further and wanted me to fail, so made me do this cache. Which I am so glad we did!!! Great spot!!! even the numerous 'elevation altering devices' that had been installed on the track proved no issue (except a little bit on the return) ! Fav point from us!! Was surprised at how accurate GPS on our phone was at GZ!
Thanks jonnosan! Loved it!
Thanks jonnosan! Loved it!
TFTC and thank you for the great location. Caches like this make it a worthwhile activity.
Have been down here before MANY years ago, it has changed so much, so much bush now, and thought we may have it to ourselves today, don't be silly, the place was literally crowded, so many people down here today. Worst of all, we did not have the spoiler image, and spent way too much time looking at the wrong waterfall, pretty as it was.
So I climbed back out and got a a gnats crack of internet, enough to get the image, ahh, so it is over there, easy find then.
Finished the circuit, added some non-existent tracks into OSM.
A great way to start the day.

Took a bit searching as we hadn't looked at the spoiler photo before we headed off from the car. Once near GZ we started searching in an area we thought would be out of the way. After a few minutes, Webby decided to head back until he got a phone signal to download the photo, while I continued searching. I stupidly walked across from wet rocks and slide onto my backside. Got up a bit sore and cursed my stupidity.
About 10 minutes later, Webby returned with the photo. It showed we were searching the wrong area. A minute later we could see roughly where it was. While Webby struck up a conversation with some muggles, I snuck up and grabbed the cache. The contents were wet, so I spent some of the time drying it with a few tissues and swapped the snaplock bag for the log with a spare one I had.
Gorgeous spot - will bring the boys and Nay our here one day in the future.
I used the Photosphere app on my Nexus phone to create this 360 degree panorama https://plus.google.com/photos?pid=5908154329663857522&oid=112458958887849624151 It's not perfect, but looks pretty good.

When I was in the area the other day I noticed this cache nearby. When an opportunity presented itself to go caching with whitemushroom I thought this would be a good one to start the day witb. Not a very long walk but it had a few steps to start off with and a few muddy sections. Once at the waterfall we soon realised we had to go round and down a little further. With the spoiler photo still on my phone we positioned ourselves in the likely spot. It was well hidden so hopefully it will not be interrupted by muggles. The water was flowing quite nicely today. The Lawson/Hazelbrook area has alot of nice waterfalls which I have been privy to see over the past year. TFTC.
Set out mumbling at the steps downward, and at a point on near the GZ according to the Garmin, muttering further as to the 'down there?' ... bisygisy led the way, with much insistence, and as it proved, blind faith in the leader led to a most marvellous vista. This is one grand GZ - and a not so difficult Cache find, when you arrive there. TFTC
Found by Pi.
I've been to this location before but my GPSr was having one of "those" days and I wasted the short amount of time I had on a fruitless search.
So I was glad when a friend suggested a return trip. I studied the spoiler and was confident of finding the cache. Well I really needn't have worried as the cache was laying open on the ground. Appears a muggle found it and opened it and just left it on the ground. Signed the log and put all that I found on the ground back into the container. Placed the cache in what appeared to be the hidey-hole (basically next to where I found it) and covered with some camo.
The falls where running nicely today. A very pretty location, thank you for putting a cache here.
TFTC,
Michael.

A good hide this one. Our GPS had us in the wrong area for awhile. One we finally got some phone reception and could check out the spoiler photo, we were back in business. Took both the TB's to continue their journies.
#1029 & my 93rd consecutive day of caching
I was undecided about where to go today, just couldn't make up my mind what to do. So when bikerbuddy recommended this one, I just went with his suggestion. And am very glad I did, this turned out to be a great walk with the kids (even if a tifle muddu) and an easy find at the end.
I used a combination of GPS & the spoiler photo & had no trouble locating GZ. My GPS must have been having a good day, because it pretty much agreed with the published coordinates (okay, it was about 5m out, but in this type of area, that's pretty good).
Thanks for the fantastic walk jonno . Left a couple of trackables in the container.

A beautifully located geocache! A bit of a hunt to find but the photo helped. Picked up a butterfly toy and a fabulous Atlanta 1996 Olympics pin that our 5 yr old loved being gripped by Olympics fever. Left some other toys behind for future kids.
Thought it was about time we got out and did a few caches. This was the first for the day and only 1 km from home. Took Freddy The Frog Travel bug and moved him on. TFTC
We had been along this track some time ago but one forgets just how nice these places are until you return. Set off from the car on this sunny but quite cool morning for a pleasant little stroll and perchance a cache. It is a very good track and it looks like they're putting in a new footbridge or something at one of the creek crossings towards the Hazelbrook end of the loop track. It was very cool in the shade as we made our way along the track - not much sun here in the morning.
Arriving at the twin falls we let the GPS settle a bit but the reception - as others have mentioned - is not too flash. Good enough though and with the added help of the clue photo the cache was soon located. Lovely spot here twixt the two falls both of which are quite pretty. Made no swaps but dropped off the Freddy Frog TB. Good cache.

About time for me to return to this great area, however at present the track from Lawson is more of a quagmire than a track, do yourself a favour and come from the Hazelbrook end, a much easier proposition.
As expected GPS reception down into the gully is almost nil, in any case I relied on the photo kindly provided by the CO. No problem finding the spot and soon Had the cache in hand, signed log and left my signature Pathtag, Olympic pin and Yowie.
Thanks for the great spot, even if there was no Yabbies in evidence today!

Discovering that I had nearly two hours to spare while doing errands in the Blue Mountains, I rolled up to the CO's recommended parking spot in Lawson and set off walking on a perfect sunny winter's afternoon. The going was a bit damp in places but not too bad.
But, boy, did I make a hash of this one! At least I did it in a very beautiful place.
Found the general GZ area OK, after a careful stream crossing, but it was full of happy muggles -- some kind of overseas tour group. I had a discrete look around while waiting for them to leave.
Then I tried to make my GPSr talk to the satellites way down there in the deep gully, but mainly in vain. The times I thought I getting some sense out of the Oregon actually (as I found out later) led me badly astray.
Finally I decided to forget my GPSr and to focus on the CO's published 'spoiler photo' and maneuver myself as close as possible to GZ. This proved to be a complete failure, and I now realise that I spent nearly 40 minutes wandering around about 50 metres away from the correct spot. Time running out, I made two desperate PAF calls, and got some advice from two friends, bb and the CO. Slowly the penny began to drop . . . I had been lining up myself on the wrong waterfall!
Yep. This is a very special place indeed, with not one but two great waterfalls very close together -- Junction Falls and Adeline Falls. Either one would have been enough to highlight this gully as a top spot.
Anyhow, I had managed to position myself at the wrong waterfall and somehow achieved a view from the 'false GZ' that looked very much like the CO's helpful photo.
Walking about 50 metres, I suddenly realised my mistake and picked up the container without even a search.
Gee, I did feel really dumb -- but at least I scored the smilie.
Having now spent a lot of time in this lovely area south of Lawson, I can heartily recommend it geo-families for outings. It takes a bit of a walk down -- 800 metres from the car park turns out to be much longer, given the descent -- but it's well worth it. And I can imagine what a cool retreat this gully and the two waterfalls would provide on a hot summer's day.
Well, in the end, I found that the cache container was in good shape, nice and dry despite the rather damp environs. TNLNSL.
Many thanks to the CO for placing a great cache and for his help to a lost geocacher! (My gratitude too to bb for his patience with my confusion.)

Many thanks to the CO for placing a great cache and for his help to a lost geocacher! (My gratitude too to bb for his patience with my confusion.)
On a day off, it was a brisk morning walk down to this one. The track was very wet in patches, but not dangerous.
Shortly I was at GZ and trying to get to where the picture was taken as the GPS could not get satelites. A nice quick find.
I was back at the car within an hour.

First came here about 1958, and huge yabbies were everywhere.
Good to revisit again. Walks at Lawson are pretty.

FTF at 10:46 am
The weather's been terrible, but I needed another cache today to feed the streak beast. Besides, this was a Jonnosan cache with a potential FTF, so I thought I'd give it a go. The up side of the poor weather is that the creeks and waterfalls are in full flow along this walk, now. I passed several small waterfalls on my way to GZ. There's something big R Romantic about the sound of water cascading through the bush on a moody day like today. This is where Heathcliff hid as a wild boy, this is where Wordsworth explored the woods and the waterways - well, they might have had they lived in Australia (and Heathcliff wasn't fictional!)
Despite the weather and terrain, the GPS was okay today when I got to the waterfall. Nevertheless, I recognised where I had to go from the spoiler photo and made an instant find. I signed the log, took a few photos and rehid the cache before heading back.
I was wondering whether I might get a leech. Some parts of the track were like soup. But thankfully I had no leeches when I checked. I guess it was just too wet for them.
This was a very special place. Junction Falls is beautiful. I've included a photo, but photos never quite capture what it was that made you take it in the first place. I guess people will have to go for themselves!
Thanks for another one Jonno.
