Very unique cache ! A fun find on our way north. And some absolutely stunning cows at the back of the hall make stopping extra worth it
Heading south along the Kaipara Highway with rattll, after a week in Northland. Lots of room to park by the hall. Has it actually been used in the last decade? Log dry, no problems. Signed, and returned as found. Tftc!
Slowly making our way back towards Hamilton and the end of our couple of weeks 'Northland get away'.We're picking up some caches as we go (as you do).A quick stop and another 'smiley' bagged! Thanks for putting this here
A quick stop at this historic hallThanks for the great clues.Cool camo.Cleaned out all the MuckReplaced the log with fresh paper.
Coordinates are wrong. We found it thanks to the other logs. It needs new logbook. This one is falling apart. Tftc
Had to make a trip to collect laval from a summer camp so detoured along this route to pick up a few caches. Thanks to Avoyagers new coordinates this was a quick find. Thanks for the cache.
Eventually found it after coords miles out. Perhaps these will help future cachersS 36 28.468' E 174 26.901'TFTC]
Managed to put my mark on the very wet log paper. As reported this needs replacement, the CO must be leaving that pleasure to the next Geocache hunter.
Easy find using the hint. Paper is wet. Difficult to write my name on the logsheet. Thanks for placing this cache.
Coordinates were 125 feet off but I found it easily using the hint. Log is very damp. Nice hide. TFTC
Up from Southland with Cantabrian Kiwicampnut to get the final piece of the PWGT puzzle.
Day 9 - Whangarei back to Hamilton. A few targets in Auckland as we drive through. Came this way on the one target, pulled over after some roadworks to let traffic past, saw the cache pop up, so swung over for a find. The hint and the posted coords did not match up, so drove around hall to where the hint was. Success. Evicted some cockroches before opening the container to find a damp log.
Not sure if CO is still active, but definitely needs some attention.
Needs new log.
Thanks for the cache wasa & chec

Ruru_Nz and I on another road trip to complete this area of the Geotour before it finishes. Completed
Quick stop to let traffic by and what’s this a cache across the road. Detour made and found but would suggest new logbook and co ords are at least 40m out

Today I was on a mission as part of Team G0LD to Te Rau Puriri Regional Park on South Kaipara Head, to hopefully clear all the caches there and as many more as possible on the peninsula.
Travelling down highway 16 on the way there, this one was a quick pull over and find, even if my glasses did fog up badly in the very warm humid conditions after getting out of the cache mobile. TFTC

Racing to get home in the Duchess with a 1700 deadline it was a dash over the road to get up close and personal with a power pole. Easy, fun hide.
Didn't have data so did a pot luck search in front of hall. No luck so decided to leave.Just got Data as we were about to drive off, read the clue, went back and found instantly. Log is wet so could not sign. Thanks
Found it great hinding spot barley noticed it. Note book was really damp so couldn't write.
Nice and handy find on my way home from Kaipara Harbour weekend.
A little bit confused by GPS but the hint says it all.

Heading home from the north. Today thought I’d try SH 16 rather than 1, and get some caches. Found with the hint not the coords. Log book wet, couldn’t sign. TFTC
Located this one on a return journey from northland, decided to take the scenic route to avoid traffic. It was great to pause and locate this cache on the way, luckily just enough coverage to get the information on the run. TFTC!
Staying in Glorit so had to pick up this one. Luckily I had pre read advice that map was wrong and hint was master. TFTC, great to explore this area. Cache slightly damp but still writable.
The elder Future Finder and I are heading North for a family Boxing day event and we decided to take State Highway 16 for a change. I have driven past this spot a few times, but I don't think the cache was in my GPSr at those times. Today it was and I made sure to take the opportunity to stop and make the find. As others have mentioned the hint is much more important than following the GPSr on this one. Nice quick find thanks to the hint. Cheers for the cache placement!
North Island Campervan trip Day 10
After the fantastic holiday I had a few months ago traveling around the South Island, making the most of one of those incredibly cheap campervan deals available at the time, I figured it was worth taking a week off work before the stresses of the usual holiday period to enjoy some of the delights to be found around the top of the North Island.
This would be a great chance for me to seek out some targeted caches such as the TMGT ones as well as some that would help me with my Jasmer grid, missing minutes (for a couple of challenge caches I'm working on) and any other caches that caught my eye.
Last night was spent near the centre of Whangarei, so that I could spend a few hours caching around there before starting my drive back to Auckland. That was always assuming the weather played ball of course lol!
So now I was hitting the road to head south again. Having reached Wellsford, the road traffic advice was to avoid Warkworth so I decided to use the alternative route SH16 having never driven it before.
Sadly, the aspect of this that I hadn't predicted was the lack of cell coverage, so whilst I could see that there was a cache somewhere here, I had no access to the Hint or previous logs. I still had a bit of a hunt around what I thought the obvious hiding spots could be, but now that I CAN see the Hint, I was not looking in the right location.

Today I decided to head north and west from where I was staying in Auckland City. Finding a few more caches in my spare time. I was accompanied by a work colleague and part time geocacher from Adelaide. Was confused at first as the published coordinates did not match the hint. Found cache OK as per the hint but as this isn't an offset / multi cache the CO should really update the coordinates. At GZ I had S 36° 28.467 E 174° 26.896
A very quiet road - except when approaching this cache when I was almost tailgated! But parked safely and found the cute container quickly. TFTC
A very good example of this type of hide. Glad we followed the hint and not the GPS!
Staying on the farm behind the hall for the weekend so came down for a wander to find this. Nice easy find. A resident spider helped welcome us. Unfortunately we forgot to bring a pen. Thank you for the cache!
I'm up in Whangarei visiting my parents for one last time before I head over to the UK for the foreseeable future - however they are currently on their last leg of their south island tour, so actually aren't home at the moment, so I've got some time on my hands.
Woke up early this morning and after a quick look out of window into the darkness at the weather, I decided that I would head down Waiwera/Kaukapakapa way, to collect some caches in the Route 66 series. I solved the Route 66 series at least two years ago now and haven't had the opportunity to collect as I've always been in a hurry to get to the parents' place in Whangarei.
I was going really well on the Route 66 series before lunch, but since eating my sandwich, I seem to have lost my mojo. Can't be bother going back down dusty rounds for the rest of the series, so going to head back home with a few on the way. A quick find here.

We are on vacation in New Zealand and of course we seek some caches.
Thanks for this one! Thanks to the hint we found this one. Maybe good to adjust the coordinates.
Greetings from the Dutch.

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... We had a couple of jobs to complete yesterday, and unexpectedly stayed the night in nearby Wellsford. Being unprepared was an experience, but we managed nevertheless... We were in the area this April, and were keen to have another shot at the caches along Highway 16, So here we go...
The carpark was much bigger than we expected. Either they had big cars or big dances back in the day... The hint was a little too explicit and we spotted the cache from several meters away. A good disguised hide to suit the location. TFTC.

Real goal today was a multi in the area which we missed last time we were here.
Rest of the day was mostly like yesterday with weather and cache finds but great to find caches that have had DNF's against them. SLTFTC

After doing the Mt Auckland walkway, had intended calling in here to get this one. However, there was obviously something on at the hall here today, with a large number of vehicles everywhere and people walking around, so no quick fix here for me. Will try again another day.
TFTC... geodad and I have teamed up under one username "Matini264nJaimee83" previously "Matini264" and "Jaimee83", so are re-logging any that we hadn't found together, before deactivating one account. Have notified all COs involved for permission
Signed as Matini264 (half the team)
Sorry for generic log, there are a few to do!

I was after an other cache type for the geocaching licence I'm working on. I was glad to see this one today. I studied it as I'd like to make some the same up north here. Thanks for a quik fix and another cache towards my souvenirs
Coords for the cache seemed to be out by about 38m. They were correct for a place to park, though, so I did, then used the hint to find the cache. TFTC.
Coords well off but with previous finders who pointed us in right direction, before we re-read the cache page.
Co-ords had us on the other side of the hall but we were with previous finders who directed us to the right pole
We didn’t stop for many caches on our journey from Kai Iwi Lakes to Auckland today as we spent so long at the fascinating Kauri Museum, but this was one with good parking and no muggles about. Glad we read the description though and didn’t go to the coordinates! A great little hide. SL. TFTC.
Found it on our way to see the mighty Tāne Mahuta. A quick stop. The hint helped to find it without hassle. TFTC
#3994. The last day of my short visit to Auckland and closing in on 4000 finds. Decided a trip up north was in order to pick up a special cache. Just needed to find 14 other caches on the way. Parked close by and waited for the muggles working nearby to lose interest in what I was up to. Once I had worked out where the cache was hidden, I made a snappy find. Signed the log and replaced where found. Thanks for the cache.
Drove straight past this one on the way up and the right side of the road. Stopped to pick it up in the rain on the way home. No traffic to speak of made for a quick find.
Got the car this morning and I'm on my way to Dargaville, trying to avoid the toll road. After getting used to driving on the wrong side of the road and sitting in the car at the wrong side again, I'm up for some caches along the way. This was the first one, which was found quickly after ignoring the coordinates. Thanks for hiding!
#105 what's on at Glorit Hall? Nothing! However there was a cache in good order and quickly found with the hint. Dodged the tumbleweeds blowing through to sign the log. TFTC!
Today was another nice day for our holiday trip in new zealand were we of course also found some caches along the way.
Today we took a trip from kerikeri back to Auckland.
This is one of them. thank you for maintaining this cache.

I really wanted to get this one just because I thought it was interesting there was a place called Glorit. Place would be a bit of a stretch since as far as I can tell the memorial hall is about the only thing here. Still it's a nice hall, just a pity someone has stolen their bbq gas bottle (according to the info sign)...poor form.
As others say, the coordinates are for the hall, not the hide, so you'll need to follow the very clear hint to find the cache, but it's not hard to find. Good camo, liked it, I have a similar one back in town. TFTC.

The clue says it all. Use the coordinates only as a guide to get you close to the right spot, as you will searching a long way away. Cheers
Next part of the holiday, up to Whangarei and points North. Time to find a few little boxes.....
Thanks to the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

Found it 43 meters way...thank goodness for the clue! Nothing happening at the hall today...it look very lonley. TFTC
Heading home from a long weekend this was available as a quick stop and grab. A straight forward find but the cache was a little distance from where the coordinates were showing.
I already was on my way back to my Auckland base and ad found 49 caches up to this moment. That should be really enough for one day but 50 is such a nice figure! So I can't refuse and stopped here for another Quik fix. The cache was a little bit off but with the accurate describtion it was no problem.
Thanks a lot for the cache.

The new hint made this a quick find.
The summer holiday this year was to visit the far North. We decided to take our time and travel with just short trips and stop over to visit friends/relatives rather than one big long drive through to Whangarei, so there was a little time allowed for geocaching, although this was fairly restricted. We planned a couple of longer stays at campsites where we used our tent and at other times we were at friends or cabins/motels. Some of the caches took us to a little out of the way places but these were really worthwhile, while others we discovered and visited and as luck would have it there was also a cache! The logging of these cache has had to wait until we got to relatives, on the whole.
This is a fairly generic log with additional notes about individual caches that had something extra that remained in my memory. I may have muddled some or even left some out but hopefully I have it right.
Thank you for the cache and another smiley face.

Out and about for an explore this afternoon, picking up some caches along the way. Quick find. SL. TFTC.
Today we are leaving Auckland after spending 3 weeks exploring and caching around the city and we are heading northwards, destination: Algies Bay.
Well, there was nothing going on at Glorit Hall today so we got a close by park and headed to the hall. At that point I checked the hint, just as well or else would have spent a while searching in the wrong place. StreetWalker trotted off to the hint object and soon found the cache. TFTC.

On our way north for new years celebrations with friends at Atiu Creek Regional Park for a couple of days. As we decided to take the alternative route north through SH16, we also stopped to collect caches along the way! Had a lovely drive along here and found some really clever caches with some wonderful views.
Noticed that Glorit hall seems to have a lot of events happening, according to he notice board, good to see this rural hall in good use! Cache was a nice camo found by MrNZT, TFTC!

On our way to Atiu Creek Regional Park with Newlynnfam to meet other cachers for some camping. Stopped off along the way to do some caching.
Coords way off...but still found it. This one is more like a multi :-p

On way up north with UncleSamNZ to go camping over the New Year period with some of our caching buddies (Team SEAC). Turned out that we were way ahead of everyone else in terms of our ETA, so we decided to stop off to do some caching.
Pays to read the description.... I'm guessing that's why the coords were so far off!!! Still made the find, another cool cache container!!!

For a caching weekend away with the HKCB this was a late but welcome start in this great peice of countryside that I had never visited before.
So after having spent a caching trip in a bed, and having had a shower (so this must be how normal cachers start their day when caching) while getting a tour of the Albertlanders History defore heading south.
As the previous finders have stated the cache is not at the GZ or but at the hint item some 25m away
Great spot for the cache and we were happy to have the place to ourselves.
thanks for brining me to this spot to enjoy the surrounds.

I found the item due to the hint, it would be nice if the C.O could update the co-ordinates though! Just passing through on my way home to Auckland. Just completed the Atiu Reserve and this cache was the last for the day.
