1435 for the tribeEnjoying Shine Gimuy this evening and the Esplanade to cap off an epic day of caching. Some stunning art and light to be seen. Thanks for placing and maintaining the Funship cache! Found and replaced as found.
Spent some time on the esplanade soaking in the warmth, the gorgeous scenery and of course just a couple of caches. Resorted to the spoiler pic to help me narrow down my deep dive after making a couple of laps of the tree. In the end found in good order, signed and replaced and it was on to the next.
Found 13:40Some time to kill between lunch & dropping hubby off for his work catch-up, kids were happy for me to suggest we hit up the funship playground. Puzzle was easily solved in 5 mins while kids were playing.... the difficulty rating is generous! When it was time to.go, we went over for a look at GZ. A juggle dogwalkee asked if we were looking fir mushrooms.... "why yes, yes we are " fungus variety were in a nearby part of the garden bedExcellent spot to hide the good coverage.TFTC
The DownUnder 2024 team is travelling in Australia and New Zealand. We also used our stopover in Doha to cache. We met interesting places, friendly people and we had great experiences. Some caches led us to beautiful areas, historical events or hotspots on site. I try to publish my own pictures in the log as far as possible. Sometimes I also stand in logbooks with my nickname, often I have renounced to save space. We agreed that only one desired answer will be sent at a time. I hope all owners also think rationally. Thanks for all the experiences.
We are also part of the large tour group from Germany and passed this cache today. We are from Ismaning/Bavaria. We had a great time in Australia. For reasons of space, we have entered the logbook as **DownUnder 2024**.*Greetings from the sunny south of Germany.***Thanks to all owners for caring and caring.****IN: NOTHING****OUT: NOTHING****TFTC Leilah03***A game for all ages! A group of 38 geocachers from Germany, Denmark, Luxembourg and Switzerland - Team Downunder24 - are traveling for 22 days from Frankfurt/Main via Doha to Australia and New Zealand. I was able to discover many wonderful things and irretrievable experiences are burned into my memory. Now we have arrived in Cairns for 2 days and before we go to Green Island in the afternoon, we looked for and found a few caches near our hotel and at the ferry pier. This one was there too. Thanks to walterhellmut for the cache, luring and caring for it - kind regards from Switzerland ????

We have traveled with 36 likeminded geocachers to Australia and New Zealand resulting in lots of opportunities for sightseeing and geocaching. The logbooks were mostly signed under the teamname "Team DownUnder24" and answers were sent to owners for the group, as appropriate. This has been a great trip with a multifold of new impressions and experiences.During our stay in Cairns we had also the opportunity to visit some caches. This cache was today among our finds. Thanks for leading us here and showing and thanks for the cache.
Together with 36 other geocachers, the KiSt team undertook a very long trip to Australia ???? and New Zealand ???? for three weeks. On both the outward and return journeys, there was a stopover in Doha, the capital of Qatar ????.We experienced a great deal on this trip and gained many very different impressions of the two countries, their nature and their culture. Of course, the main focus was on visiting as many caches of as many different types as possible and also all accessible old cans. However, we also made sure to visit many special places of interest and to gain as comprehensive an impression as possible of nature and its flora and fauna. To save the logbooks, we usually signed in with our team name **Downunder24**. For "special" cans, however, we have not missed the opportunity to leave our nickname as well. This beautiful cache is now also one of our finds.Due to the large number of caches visited, it is unfortunately not possible for us to write an individual log for each can, which is why we would like to apologize to the owners for this collective log.We also met other cachers at some of the events and were able to share our experiences. Many thanks to the event owners!Of course we would like to thank all the owners for showing us the great locations, the sometimes tricky puzzles, exciting multis and wherigos, as well as the interesting virtuals and earth caches - TFTC!!!---In der Besetzung KiSt unternahmen wir zusammen mit 36 weiteren Geocachern fr drei Wochen eine sehr weite Reise nach Australien ???? und Neuseeland ????.

# 21439Whau, I am on a three week trip with Cacher-Reisen and a bunch of fellow geocachers to Australia and New Zealand. It is so odd to imagine that I am going to visit a place that is nearly on the opposite of the globe from my usual hangouts. In Denmark it is late winter/early spring, and I am exchanging the winter-part for late summer in Australia and early autumn in New Zealand. This is so exciting. The itinerary is Frankfurt (Germany), Doha (Qatar), Sydney, Melbourne, Cairns (Australia) and Auckland, Rotorua, Wellington, Blenheim, Christchurch, Dunedin, Cromwell, Queenstown (New Zealand) before flying back to Europe. That will be two new continents and three new countries for me - and as far away from home as I have ever been. It is a lot of places and travelling, but we also have a plan to find lots of geocaches and see the sights and beautiful nature. In the wee hours of the night we all got up to go to the airport, headed for the next destination in Cairns. It turned out that that was not the right element for me with the heat and humidity. I had made arrangements to join the group on two boattrips, and all in all with a bit of seasickness, fatigue, jetlag and much more I think I would have been better off staying at the hotel. However, looking back on the trip now, I am happy that I went and also saw this part of Australia. Thankfully we also found a few caches in the area.I had solved a few mysteries at home before the trip, and I quickly found the best way to solve the mysteries from this CO. That way we got a few easy D-stars. This one we could find and sign.

Danke fr diesen Geocache. Danke fr die Ausarbeitung. Danke frs Zeigen.Lieber Gru aus Duisburg / DeutschlandAndyDieser Logeintrag wird mit Hilfe von Google bersetzt.__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________We set off on a long journey with 37 geocachers from Germany, Denmark, Luxembourg and Switzerland. I am up in FNQ for a couple of weeks - main aim is a bird banding trip to Iron Range on Cape York but have a week before we head off to chase butterflies and geocaches. Glee in today and a delayed flight meant one hour less of caching. Have 4 caches I really want to get and did three of them today. Visited Cairns, Lake Morris and south of Gordonvale and collected a few caches (mainly puzzles). No Luck with your nearby Trad so wandered to this one. Think this is one I actually did solve a long time ago. Quick find once I got the right angle.TFTC walterhellmut

Touring Australia with my family. Which includes BeesKnees34, SOB_4M, AlexBN16 and 1MitchG6. We have been enjoying the beautiful landscape and visiting some awesome locations.
Stopping along the way to grab some cool caches. We targeted high favourite, old caches, different cache types and some other caches along our routes.
Another fun puzzle that I enjoyed doing. I had some help along the way.
Another fairly quick find, thanks to good hint and spoiler photos.

More ants . Plenty of likely hidey holes and po2 came up trumps again - Tftc and greetings from the UK!!
What a spectacle I made of myself. An ant crawled up the leg of my shorts and was chomping on my inner thigh . So it had to be found! And quickly! TFTC walterhellmut
We’ve had this one solved for a while and decided to make the find today after work. Will be a nice addition to our D/T grid as it’s our first 4/1. Thanks for placing and maintaining cache, Walter. Log signed and replaced as found. TFTC
Great tricky find, the pictures were very helpful. Having kids in our group was helpful to look less suspicious
Thanks for placing this cache here for us all to enjoy. My previous attempts at this cache have been aborted due to the high muggle presence. However today I was finally able to make the find. There were certainly a few green ants around today. But either way I was happy to be able to add this smiley to my map
Solved this puzzle before I came to Cairns. Similar to another puzzle I’ve done so I was able to sort it out reasonably easily.
A few laps around the tree today and finally I narrowed in on it.

With a bit of googling and counting we were able to work this puzzle backwards. It looked much easier in hindsight, although it did not feel totally straightforward at the time.
Fortunately finding the hide was faster than solving the puzzle, and that was a lovely bonus in the drizzling rain.

Great Northern escape 2022 Day 30. Cairns section Day 14. For my last day in Cairns, I had a bit of domestic work planned. Once the washing was on, I set out for 'one' cache. Well, that was the plan. My first target did not work so I went for another. In between I visited several shops and spent way too much. After all that was done, I decided to check out a puzzle I had been helped with before I came up, and was happy to find that as well.
After way too much shopping, I decided I would visit this puzzle that I have had on the horizon since I arrived in Cairns. I am happy that it was exactly where promised, and not too hard to locate on site.
Thanks for the cache Walterhellmut

Still catching up on over 2000 logs to do from our trip. This is a location that we weren't expecting to visit but are so pleased we did. At last the weather is great so GT37 and I are having a great time exploring and caching as we go. We were very pleased that we managed to find this so quickly as it was quite dark by the time we got here. Thanks for placing the cache for us to find.
Papi and I were in this general area a week or so ago but due to a friend's car issues and the weather, find ourselves back again. We looked for this one after the sun had gone down so we were both happy that we found it so quickly. Thanks for placing the cache.

This was a clever puzzle, but did have to resort to a clue from the CO about how to solve. And, have to admit, the spoiler pic did come into play as there was a few people around making stealth challenging. TFTC
Grabbing a few puzzles and other fun finds on a quick weekend trip to Cairns. Thanks Walterhellmut
After taking three weeks to meander my way up from Adelaide to Cairns on my own, I met up with FeatherWaite and another friend to head further north to Cape York.
We spent another three weeks travelling up to the tip and back to Cairns, seeing the sights and finding caches along the way.
When we got back to Cairns we went our separate ways again. I stayed on for a few days and found a few caches, including this one, while I was there.
Thanks Walterhellmut for the puzzle and the cache.

I'll admit the spoiler photos make some of these caches really easy. I didn't even have to solve the puzzle but instead used observation. TFTC
After 2 visits and speaking to the CO I returned this evening to replace the engulfed or missing container.
Thanks Walter.
Thanks Walter.
In Cairns for a few days and had a crack at this stretch while the family were entertained at Muddys.
Using the spoiler photo I’m sure I was in the correct spot however I was unable to make the find.
Always tough at these GZ’s.
I’ll try again another time.
Thanks anyway Walter.

Today we finally were able to get out on our bikes an ride around the Botanical gardens and cairns city. A lovely day but still very bust, and I don't think there were too many tourists

The ants from the University have started to migrate through the city. There is now a street in the Shades where people dare not go as the ants have built gantries to capture intruders and force them into servitude. The strained looks of these poor people as they shop for sugar cubes is quite alarming. There are no ants visible on them but I’m told this is why they look so strained....
This was still here after not being found for a while. It is very overgrown and buried far in the tree. Lid was loose and rusted but inside was completely dry. Tftc
Just back from Europe and a quick festive season trip up to Cairns to thaw out!! Love the greenery Cairns offers as opposed to my home town of Townsville.

My partner and I were up in Cairns for a quick weekend away, and we took a romantic stroll along the prom this afternoon, picking up the odd cache here and there too. This was relatively quick find, considering. Quite a few people around but none looking our way, happily - only a flock of gulls. TFTC, walterhellmut. =^.^=
