this cache is now in the middle of major roadworks with the new Otaihanga turn-off. I think the project is going to take some time to complete
Found on our way back to Wellington. It looks like they are finally going to sort out the horrible intersection on SH1. Redants grabbed the cache and we signed it back in the car, rehid and on our way home again. TFTC.
We had passed through not too long ago but hadn’t stopped for this one- so today presented the perfect opportunity. TFTC
There were a few memories of the visits to this museum in childhood like a car with 3" thick glass. Cache easily found and lots of engines roaring past.
Last one before heading out of the area and moving north for meetings tomorrow, must come back one day and have a good look around

A quick detour off SH1 to pick up this cache, but I had to be patient, as it is a pretty busy road. Soon logged and I was back on the road. TFTC
A very short detour from the main road and I was at the cache. Too early for any activity at the museum so a quick find at the cache. Left car here while I walked to the cache on the walkway nearby. TFTC, Biggles.
Quick drive by cache.
Have visited the attraction over the road and its definitely worth a visit.

Nice easy find - i wonder if it isnt too much in the open, but I guess few people would be walking by. TFTC

Was almost caught like a deer in the headlights of the vehicles leaving the establishment across the road. Managed to grab the cache between cars, sign log and return. TFTC

A quick easy find on a very busy road, near an institution we really should visit some time, as we both have an interest in cars. TFTC
Quick easy find by Princess Emily on our way back home. Swapped red horse for a bracelet. TFTC
Figured it could only be in one spot, and there it was...and right on cue, a train.
Talk about the power of the engine - they kept powering past us today - it's quite a busy road. Fortunately the cache was a quick find, so we didn't need to linger. TFTC
This was a pretty busy road this morning so I parked the cache mobile so I could hide most of my activities TFTC TuisReturn
Quick find while dodging rather a lot of traffic. My 18 cache for the day and yet the first with a Rattl stone! I missed them. Glad to see they are back!
Find #1324. Found on a cycle ride from Waikanae to Mana, mostly following the Kapiti Coastal Cycle Route with deviations for caches, many of which I missed providing a good excuse to do this ride again. A very quick find between cars. Log book was a bit damp but still ok. SL, TFTC.
had to wait for cars parked at rail flash lights, idly watching in my direction before i could return it....
book a little damp.

A quick park and grab in the rain. No time to visit the museum today but I have thoroughly enjoyed it on the occasions when I have. TFTC
A quick easy find for our first of the day.
Had to be patient waiting for a break in the traffic though. TFTC

Was in Kapiti for work and knew that there was a few new caches that were published in the area in the last week or so. I tried doing this cache when I was in the area last week but there was a muggle parked within a metre of GZ and doing some work at the phone boxes cabinet so I decided that it might not be a good idea to even think about trying to look for the cache.
Arriving at GZ today and the area was free of muggles and I was able to park within a metre of the cache and I managed to track down the cache in the first spot that I looked. Thanks for placing the cache here and for bringing me to this spot that I have driven pass so many times but have never had the opportunity to stop, TFTC TNLNSL (4540)

Hi Dave, Thanks for that & yes what a great idea if everyone added their knowledge of Len Southward & Southwards Car museum. Cheers Gaye
Dear TuisReturn.
I'm sorry.
Dave
P.S. It is a shame, but hopefully those who find your cache will share their experiences of the museum, and do plenty of advertising that way! It is certainly a challenge to grab it between the traffic.
Cheers

TnxPro, I spent considerable time researching this cache, Len Southward was a remarkable man & I wanted to justice to the listing. However the publishers didn't agree.....Southwards museum costs to view, the cache was disallowed for commercial reasons & sighted as if my listing was little more than an advertisement.
Quick and easy find on the way back to lunch near Coastlands.. Thanks for the cache.. Did with Mycro Man
A quick find on a caching visit to the area. The nearby museum is thoroughly recommended for a visit - it's world-class. Signed log, TFTC!
A disappointingly easy cache that really doesn't do justice to its location - located across the gates of Southwards Car Museum.
Its a shame that the cache listing has no published information about the museum, which is the southern hemispheres largest private collection of cars. This is a world class museum and this cache has the potential to really draw people here, because of its close proximity to SH1. I hope it does.
My family has spent many hours wandering through the interesting vehicles. I thoroughly recommend a visit.

4.15pm. On our way to Paraparaumu for the week so made a quick grab as we arrived.
Thank you. David and Noeline.

#3145. Quite a lot of visitors across the road today, but GZ was relatively quiet, which made for a quick find. TNLNSL. TFTC.
I am afraid I didn't really enjoy this one. After vainly waiting several minutes for a break in the traffic, I decided I probably looked more suspicious loitering around than I would have been actually searching for the cache. So I bit the bullet and completed the mission as soon as I could. TFTC.
It was such a lovely afternoon I decided to head up the coast to find a cache or two. This was my first stop. Found the cache without any problems just before Paua turned up on the scene. We had a pleasant chat before we went our separate ways.
A good spot for a cache outside an institution set up by an iconic Wellingtonian. I really look forward to the fully story being told one day. Cheers . SL TFTC

I too got notified at 8.11pm, but the rugby was on, . Found quickly this morning under the cover of darkness. Nice hide. SL TFTC.
*FTF* At around 8-30pm. Got an email at 8-11pm showing the new listings but playing Monopoly (and winning!) so didn't want to walk away. I downloaded listing and worked out where the cache would be between turns and soon had the other 3 players bankrupt. Only 5 minute drive to cache and a good quick find. SL TFTC
