Time to let this one go

22-Mar-18
In Brisbane for three days and had some time to have a go at hides close to my daughters place at Seventeen Rocks. Parked safe and not that far away and after a short walk went to an area close to indicated GZ. Found container and it was full of water and on the ground. Contents unusable. I have removed everything from the container and placed by youngoldfella on a piece of paper inside. Re hid on tree above the ground. TFTC sapiens

Out for a fun day of caching with Raynersinoz and barbbowman. We were blessed with a nice sunny day for our adventures and we had a terrific time finding a variety of caches Big Grin

We had no difficulty in locating the cache and with our names added to the log book, we continued on our way.

Thank you Blackspades for creating the earth cache for everyone to enjoy Cool

It's a Wednesday wander with bb and Mrs JAT this week and we have a beautiful, sunny day to go caching Smile

Cache #2 and it was Mrs JAT who made the find. Ewwwwwww, wet, smelly log, yay for the powertank pen! We managed to put our names in the log and after making sure everything was all closed up, we continued our walk through the bushland. TFTC geo sapiens Smile

Curiosity took us to Edenbrooke today while staying with our son at Oxley. We had a lovely wander through the park and were thrilled to learn of caches hidden there. After trekking through long grass, lantana and thick vines we finally made it to GZ! As I turned and looked I quickly spotted the cache. It was full of water from recent rain, as was the plastic bag containing the log. Added my name as best I could. TFTC and the fun we had.

Nothing like a Sunday arvo hick with the fam to find this one!! Great cache. Master geo liked this one

Went for a bush bash yesterday before visiting a friend nearby. Was looking around with only half an eye on the gps and was having trouble spotting this one. Looked back over some logs and realised it should be pretty straight forward so why was I struggling. Took one more step and there it was. I must be losing my touch! Thanks for the cache

Geo Wife & I were up this way picking up a bird cage for our daughter so we couldn't JUST do that and we have only found a few in the area so we had lots to choose from.

For some unknown reason Geo Wife's GPS was taking her in a different direction to me so I headed straight to my GZ and spotted the cache in seconds.

Thanks BlackSpades TFTC SL

Been here before but didn't fancy bush bashing prior but today was the day. Good little path up to GZ which unfortunately took me through the biggest spiderweb I've ever seen!!

24-Aug-14
Out and about on the west side of town with Sezzz and we had managed one find in the area. Which of course with me in the lead ended up with some fancy rock climbing stuff getting thrown into the mix.

Unfortunately before really thinking it through though we had returned to the car to move around to a more suitable spot for this find. It turns out from the approach we were taking our last stop was the most suitable approach. So back to the first parking spot, and back down the rock wall.

We started off following the path and soon found a better more direct approach. Soon enough we arrived at the area that could be close enough to GZ and started having a look around. I think my GPSr mislead us a little as the area I suggested we started searching was a little away from where we eventually found the cache. No matter a find is a find, and with our names on the log we headed to the next hide not to far away.

Out with OrionJ, we headed to this one after a cache near by, we thought we would drive closer from where we parked for the other one, but it seems the route has been blocked off but a tiny little bus only section. Looks like we'll need to go back. We parked as close as we could, and had a quick look, nope that really is a bit too far down, and quite a bit of bush bashing to get through, better go back to where we were, even if we have to walk a bit more. Parked and back down we went. Headed towards the general direction, and spotted some tracks. Seems someones been here before, maybe cachers, maybe not. In we go! OrionJ leading the way as he had the GPS, and me hopping along after him, we went deeper and deeper. After a bit we arrived at GZ, and OrionJ told me that it should be around here some where. While I was looking where he first pointed out, he wandered off and actually found where it was. So sneaky! Good hide, and a fun walk. The camouflage wasn't really around it when we found it, but after we had signed the log we made sure it wasn't as easy to spot as it was before. TFTC!

Third cache found on an epic cache-wandering day with trin_007. Saw this one on the map as we were wandering to another one nearby… conversation sounded like "it's over there", "are you sure?", "there must be a track coming from the other direction", "lets get this other one first and find the track on the other side"…..
Later…. "hmm, there's no track on this side either", "it still says to go that way", "really?"…. *sigh*. So, off we go, following the trusty compass, fighting off tall grass (definitely), snakes (well, possibly), and trying not to fall down the random hole thing that we went past, or to twist our ankle on the uneven ground. Luckily there was a vague kind of track from other cachers that made us realise the compass wasn't just having a bad day.

So we kept trekking through, unfortunately finding a few spiderwebs on the way (usually finding them with our faces), until we hit GZ. Quick scout around and bam, there's the cache. All good with the cache/log. Now, how to find our way out again?!?!?

TNLNSL. TFTH!

23-Mar-14
Not having been in the area before it was a pleasant surprise to have such a nice easy bikeway to cruise along with some nice views as a bonus.

With the grass about this could be a tricky find if undisturbed for a while. Fortunately for us we're following in JD & Coke's tracks today so there was a nice little geotrail right to the cache Smile

Dang… missed the Travel Bug somehow??

at 12:39. Our 5th cache today, the 3rd of yours and the third since leaving our car and walking up the cycle path. This one led us a little way into unknown rough stuff. An apparent geopath let us down.

TFTC again Geo Sapiens. The cache is in good order.

Out and about with karenhippo. Still wandering along the bike paths. There was no easy way into this one's GZ. Definitely a bush bash. The cache was a quick find. TFTC, geo sapiens.

10-Aug-13
I am not sure if there is a track to this location, but it was certainly a bad day to wear short pants. Luckily near GZ it was fairly clear..........

........ Back again, so tick number 2 for this year! And this was another nasty tiny one Twisted, and right now very painful!!! [B)]

Back to the cache. At GZ, I searched for a little while before spotted the container. Log book signed and I was off back to the track.

Thanks Smile

Out with Net88 to try and get her close to her magic milestone. We parked close by, then wandered on in. At GZ past the long grass, it wasn't long until Net had the cache in hand.

Found this cache whilst out for a day of caching with Nyssaflutterby. We were so happy that it wasn't raining for once that there was not a chance we were going to miss out on the opportunity to find some caches whilst staying dry. We parked the car as close as possible and headed off for the cache. Once we got to GZ the cache was found quite quickly and with no problems. Thanks for the cache geo_sapiens.

12-Jun-13
Nice quick find on my way home from work.

After much head scratching and staring at the maps I finally commented that we should be in the right area I finally looked up from my phone to see the cache right next to my foot. Well hidden. Tftc

Out today despite a hip injury (dont tell the doc) and doing a bit of a run through this area...

Looked like there was a trail in to GZ but, alas, it was not to be. The only thing worse than long wavy itchy grass interspersed with an abundance of cobbler's pegs is all of the above with sporadic rain!!! Ew!

Stumbled my way in from the side and located the cache easily Smile Dropped off the Squeaky Parrot TB picked up recently in NSW.

Took a more direct route back up the hill to where Sooty was parked and stood in the rain picking off the wretched cobbler's pegs.

Nice spot, all good here. TFTC geo sapiens Big Grin

01-May-13
I'm pretty sure I collected more coblers pegs on this cache than any other.

26-Apr-13
Was hoping to catch a Dragonfly and a Lizard for my Animal Alphabet today and this cache turned out to be along the way.

I follow the path up a little and then my GPS is directing me through some very long grass. I was having a great day and wasn't planning on having to battle mother nature too much. I trudge a little further when I notice a trail through the grass! It's even going in the right direction. I start following and it takes me straight to GZ. Thank you, thank you all you recent finders.

I start looking about and can't spot anything. I am too wary of anything advertised so boldly as camo. So I carefully feel all sorts of things that look real and may be detachable... no luck... no luck... I widen the search and tada. Maybe it was a lot of time testing bits of trees for detachable parts, but I do now have some wicked ideas for a hide.

TFTC Geo Sapiens.

Tried this one about an hour or so ago but couldn’t find the access. Tried again but it looks like a bush bash or rock climbing are the only two options. I was on my bike with no way to secure it so had to leave this one for another day.
Thanks anyway.

29-Mar-13
Found at 1037. Well this one had me for a while not that it was hard to find once I had made it to the GZ. It was finding a path into the GZ through a wall of high undergrowth that seemed to surround it. I took the plunge through the lowest part in the wall I could find. Managed to slip on wet grass fell on my backside striking my back on a small log in the process. After that it was clear walking to the GZ until I brushed against a small tree with an unseen wasp nest in it so I got stung a few time, luckily they hit me through my shit so it wasn't too bad then a few steps on I spotted the treasure I had risked life and limb for.

Of course when it was time to leave I found a gap in the undergrowth which made my departure a little easier.

Just what geocaching is all about ( apart from the wasps). TFTC.

Now this one seemed a bit like a mr Geosapiens kind of cache. I left the path and had some decent grass to content with but al l good. Took me a little while at GZ circumnavigating likely suspects before the container revealed itself. TFTC geo sapiens. Nice area in here Smile

I like these containers, and this was the second one for the day!
