While in the area with us3scouts and seirra1, we headed here on our way home after attending the Where will I meet you? event.
No joy for us here tonight, hope it was a case of cache blindness
Thanks ayepeacee Smile

Too good for my old eyes today. I twisted and turned, poked and prodded but couldn't locate anything.

27-Oct-13
Had a day of caching around the North Lakes area today. Love the name of this cache - because that describes this place so accurately! We took a while to locate the cache, but we knew the co-ords of this cacher are accurate, so we persevered and finally we were rewarded with a great hide. We have not seen one like this - great stuff! TNLNSL TFTC

We thought we knew what this was going to be the minute we saw you're "step thingy's", so after trying to deconstruct it for several minutes around gz we had to rethink. We began to pore all over it when geodaughter said "here it is". She had sat beside the very thing freddo had picked up several minutes earlier and dismissed. That'll teach us! You are sneaky, sneaky, sneaky and we love it! Maybe we can find the Jetty hide after all! Another favourite from us tftc!

I'm sure most geocachers can empathise with the emotional and physical pain of not being able to find 'that one cache'. I've managed to have several 'nemesis' caches over the years, but thankfully, have found them all in the end. Having it archived must have been doubly annoying.

Today after another flight and needing to head west I felt the need to begin clearing out the North Lakes area - it's the next logical place for me with unfound caches. This was to be the first of my list cherry picked today. I read the description and made my way to the closest parking. I figured it might be a challenging find so plugged in my careful looking eyes. I made my way to the area and noted the feature. It was big a grassy, steps of a triangle nature. I thought the cache might be of a certain style so checked a few spots. No. Hmm, I figured the co-ords would be pretty good and had a close look and ah.. that looks odd. Sure enough, I'd found the cache. Didn't take as long as I'd expected. I carefully signed my name, admired the camo job and rehid as found. Very nicely done. TFTC ayepeacee Smile

After reading through the logs I knew this one was going to be a bit of a challenge. However, with coordinates being spot on it was a pretty quick find. Not sure if it was meant to be like that, but I tried putting it back as I found it. Great little hide there Smile TFTC ayepeacee.

Got to the big grassy triangle step thingy and started looking around. Matt using the GPS walked right up to it and found it quickly Smile. Nice hide Smile. All is good with this cache Smile. Found with Matt_Eth Smile. TFTH ayepeacee Smile.

Wow. How ingenious! Took some working around as found with the top part on the ground beside. All attempts to retrieve pushed it slightly out of reach! All fixed now!! TFTC!

23-Dec-12
Found on the way home from a Christening..... figured I was nearby so must find what was close... pulled over in a side street and what do you know... a cache about 30 metres away... oh what luck Smile

Found the logical area quickly, although the iphone wasn't sure where GZ actually was... I found a few suspicious items only to find none of them were the cache.... I too inspected the sprinkler but it is certainly legit... need to pull that apart to find out :/

I was hunting about high and low... there were not many places to hide but I was coming up with nothing... I needed to know where to concentrate my search so I decided to PAF... turns out I was nowhere near where I should have been, once I was in the right spot I had the little fellow in hand very quickly... clever Smile

log signed, cheeky hide returned... thanks ayepeacee Smile

Geowife found as we were just about to give up and say "bah! Crazy cache". Great hide, a fave point coming your way Smile

Spent a really hot Sunday morning collecting some smileys in the area and had heard this one was a "must do" cache. Arrived at the GZ and was just starting to assess a plan of attack when Arken spied the crafty critter Wink. Definitely gets a favourite from us for its ingenuity. TNLNSL TFTC Smile

This took a fair while to find. The whole name of the cache wasn't coming up un my GPS's screen so it wasn't giving anything away.
I, like previous finders took a breather and then it showed it's face. Nice... How to hide a cache, when there is nowhere to hide a cache.
Cheers from Browngang

Mrs GL had the GPSr in hand and while I was standing back looking at ALL the possiblities, she very quickly had the cache located. Neither one of us could believe she'd found it so quickly. The search could have been monumental.
Very clever cache but no challenge for Mrs GL today.

PS - I love the name of this cache - what else could you call it???

Out with Aussie mates today. Co-ords were spot on. Found it by accident really. Was looking under it and realised it was in my hand. TFTC

17-Nov-12
Seeker and I out on our bikes for a nice trundle before breakfast. This one would have been way harder except for it was lying out on the ground. Replaced where we think it would have come from but maybe a good idea to check it. Very clever. TFTC

This was intended to be a Melbourne Cup numbers run on the geocycle taking in the North Lakes and Redcliffe area. Razz This was the first cache for the morning, on my trusty stead I mounted, clipped in, the journey begins, now what am I looking for here. Over there, under than. Sad 15 minutes later and I have now travelled 20 m from the start. Time to take a seat and think about this one.

Lucky find,Surprised I think this is going to be a tough day. Twisted I may regret thinking I could do ayepeacee caches as a numbers run[?]

04-Nov-12
Out and about tackling the North Lakes caches today after hearing stories from brownsnakemob and BSMJ about how hard and how creative they were.

We wandered to the gz from the previous ayepeacee cache and quickly found why this cache was named as it was. The gps lead me to a certain spot and I spent a bit of time surveying the surroundings. After determining where it wasn't, it was't too long finding where it was. Geoson then stumbled across it.

This was one of the best I've seen in my short gc career, very well done. Thanks ayepeacee.

Well expecting another tricky one after the banksia fun, we set upon the grassy triangle thingy and spread out to cover all likely spots. I was right at the GPS gz and investigating a little hole when Mr Spiderwebbs pulled out the prize. Much quicker than the other one! Very ingenious. TFTC ayepeacee. WinkCool

30-Oct-12
Arrived at gz around about school release time, so there was a steady flow of muggles as I began to contemplate where the cache would be. Hmmm, the description is a decent enough clue. I sat for a while and as it turned out, I was mere centimeters from gz. Of course I checked here, there, nooks, cranny's and by sheer luck I touched....that. You clever cacher ayepeacee. Signed the fairly full log and returned. A tops hide, (and then I went to your next one!)

11th find of 12 found one morning before breakfast during my holidays - ok, a slightly late breakfast today. Big Grin

Nipped out to this one early morning - gotta be quick today or the wife will wake up and wonder where I've gone Twisted Well, she might be awake now, and I'm sure she can guessSurprised. Odd place. Having dodged the kiddies and 40 limit zones I walked down the big grassy triangle step thingies and noted the quiet serenity. Being acquainted with this CO, and reading the previous logs while I sat and pondered I then grabbed 'that' to reveal a cache. Sweet!

I love the container. I have a similar one at home that I've held on to pondering how best to use it. You've given me an ideaTwistedTwistedTwisted

Thanks for placing this cache, ayepeacee. Found in good condition.

3rd of 3 finds today at 14:33.

Buoyed from my success at your other cache near this lake I set off to find this one. I initially walked too far and had to double back. When I got to the GZ I thought I had a fair idea where it would be. However, after trying a few spots I came up with nothing.

I then tried a different area and I found it. It was a bit of a fluke I admit, but I found it. I sat down near by to sign the logbook and after only one roll it was back in the container and everything was re-hidden.

Any day I find one of your caches, ayepeacee, is a great day; but two. Who knows what tonight will bring!

Today's success does give me hope I'll find modified monster truck thingy and Multi Stream Gear Drive eventually!

After meeting ayepeacee the other night (as we struggled to put my cache back together!) he mentioned he had a few caches around North Lakes. After a bit of research I saw they had very positive feedback. Now that he's found all of mine, it was time to find some of ayepeacee's. This was the second of his for the day.

I was feeling confident after finding the first one easily - but things were about to get more difficult. I saw what he meant by triangle thingies, and surely there couldn't be that many places to hide a cache. I had an idea what it could be as I have hidden one using this technique myself. Nope, that didn't work. Under there? Nope. Over there? Nope. Time to expand the search area.

Ok, that looks a bit sus - it is a stand alone thing, or are there more around? I couldn't see anymore of this particular item, so I started pulling it apart. Nope, this wasn't the cache, and now I had to put it all back together before someone reports me to the council. Hmm...time to sit down and think. Hang on - that looks a little odd. Yep, gotcha!

Thanks ayepeacee - this one was a challenge but the worst was yet to come!

Knowing this belonged to ayepeacee, and having just completed a new one inthe area, was not sure what to expect, especially when Ninnesfamily said she was coming to watch.

Surprisingly, we found this one really quick. Another great hide and container.

I loved the name as well as the hide - the likes of which I've never seen before. Great job ayepeacee.

15-Jul-12
We didn't rush into this one, instead choosing to read the logs and hoping we'd pick up something useful. Sure enough, with a bit of reading, we cast our eyes around GZ, and The Marble went and put her hand straight on it! Must be our lucky day Smile. Great little container, I'd like to know more about it! TFTC, ayepeacee. =^.^=

07-Jul-12
We had plenty of experience with 'what a wonderful world' and we were hoping not to repeat those experiences!! Jumped to the wrong conclusion and started the hunt in the wrong spot, cursing the whole time of course just for the memories. After a couple of minutes, had a rethink and reassessed the situation and very quickly the cache was in hand. Phew, shouldn't have assumed. Have to say I enjoyed this cache a lot more Razz. Thanks ayepeacee

06-Jul-12
We have enjoyed reading the logs for this one and ayepeacee was definitely giving nothing away on the type of container this one was. Zita had an idea, but didn't really know what the big grassy triangle step thingy was. We got to the gz, yep the name makes sense. The GPS gave us two options, we quickly discarded one and then zita was swatting away a huge group of midges before she was about to grab something that had caught her eye when enzo swooped in (yes he is a bird) and snapped it up. Sweet sweet container, nice work bro. TNLNSL TFTC!! Smile

I've been trying to visit North Lakes for ages to have a look around, and today I managed a quick drive-through (or so I thought)...
Parking nearby, I walked a big lap of the area inadvertently and wondered if I would need to go playing among the branches or not. Arriving at GZ, the iPhone said one thing, but I ignored it because the description seemed pretty suggestive of somewhere else. After a quick shuffle around, I decided to change tack completely... and to my delight, out came something that could only be a cache! It's not often the caching gods smile upon me like that.
Great hide and a nice welcome to the area. TFTC IPC.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

So after a little bit of lunch Ninnes Family and I pull up nearby and head over to one of the biggest, grassiest, triangular, step thingy i have ever seen.

We had read the description and both decided that we knew where to search. Yea... ummm... NO! We were wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong. We took a step back and Ninnes fed mini Ninnes. I kept looking at other spots and decided a few spots weren't worth looking at.

Fast Forward a little and we are both getting cranky and our newly purchased beverages are warming in the car. So i message the CO for a hint. He replies instantaneously and straight away i knew exactly where it was. I walked over and yep there it was. I sat down and told Ninnes i was within 30cm of it. She looked on the wrong side so i nudged her to the other and then she saw it too.

Damn you ayepeacee!! Thanks for the cache though, i'm so glad its over Razz

No. 85

This was number 5 of 17 caches found on an enjoyable caching day with Net88.

After a quick drive-through at the nearby Golden Arches to pick up some lunch, we decided to hit our first Ayepeacee cache for the day. I had never done one of Ayepeacee's caches before, but after the three I did today, I have decided that, despite their difficulty and "evilness", they are amongst my favourites.

Net88 and I had read the description for this cache and thought we knew where to look. We knew we were looking for a micro, which made the challenge even greater for the spot we were looking in. My GPSr had been playing up all day and was claiming that I was somewhere over near McDonalds still, which therefore makes it no surprise when I say that the cache was actually a couple of metres away from where my GPSr was telling me to look. After a while, I decided this was a good spot to sit back and ponder while I fed Geodaughter 3. Net kept looking and by the time the baby was finished eating, we were ready to call the CO.

The one-word reply came quickly and while I was still looking where the GPSr told me to look, Net had found the cache. She let me have the joy of finding it also though by sitting nearby and telling me that it was within 30cm of her. Despite beginning to look on the wrong side of her, I quickly found it once on the correct side. Oh my goodness, was it tiny and very, very sneaky!

Log signed, re-hidden (as per CO's request) and we were off to the next cache.

TFTC Ayepeacee. Will get a favourite once I have a point to use.

Found @1130

Whilst working down North lakes this morning, Geoson and I just had to have a crack at this new cache that popped up on the radar a couple of weeks ago Big Grin

Well we followed MrGarmin down to GZ. According to MrGarmin our GZ was at 0m [^]. So began the search, tried every bolt and every nook and cranny, with no luck Twisted

We read the logs and searched again, still no luck [B)]. So with the rain starting to fall I resorted to PAH, who gave me a little nudge Wink.

Well bugger me...........I reckon I touched it a dozen times Twisted. Very very clever Mr Ayepearcee, another sneaky one Big Grin.

It certainly is well deservant of a favorite point from the wesso family Razz

Came out to do some shopping at North Lakes, so decided to call in to do these two caches. Now for that bad cache. I had heaps of them. There was one cache I visited every week for months. Surprised I could not see it. It used to drive me nuts. It was 15 minutes from my home with heaps of DNFs on it. When I found it, it was so tiny, I could not believe it. I still have a few ones out there to drive me crazy, which includes puzzles which I can't do. TNLNSL TFTC Thanks ayepeacee Cool

What a wonderful world, full of caches - ha! We do remember that cache and we do dislike lomandras so much more since then Razz So heading to this one we were already cursing those awful spiky things Twisted

Prepared for the challenge ahead of us, we were pleasantly surprised when I spotted something not quite right Wink Yes it was the cache, another great hide ayepeacee Big Grin We see you have done some modifications to correct its position to make it the evil hide that we expected Twisted

Thanks ayepeacee, a nemisis cache no longer for you I see! Congratulations [^]

Arrived at GZ through the bushes... which made the nearby people doing some training give me a strange look!!

OK, waited for the attention to wain and started a search. Searched for quite a while and then WOW!! Now that is impressive!! I don't even know why I looked there, except that my GPS was insisting!!

Another great hide, so glad you live on the bright side ayepeacee!!

Find #752 at 11:29.

A nice tricky little hide that had us searching for a few minutes before I happened to touch the right thing. Ah ha, gotcha! Smile MissGeosie quite enjoyed this one too, and had to take her grandmother back down to look at it. Nicely done, ayepeacee! [^]

What a sneaky little thing - quite liked this one, especially after having been down this way before and been disappointed by a DNF or two Wink TFTC!

15-Jun-12
The first thing I knew about this cache was this afternoon - reading the description. I saw ayepeacee had mentioned "What a Wonderful World". Oh please.. please.. please.. please tell me he hasn't put one back in THAT area Sad

GCVA90 "What A Wonderful World" was my first nemesis cache. I had spent so long scratching around.. finding drug paraphanalia and all manner of items not fit to mention. I was not looking forward trying to find another cache in the same area.

However, I read the description fully and was happy to see that it was away from that GZ. I plodded along to GZ.. following my GPSr. Huzzah to G5ive for stating the co-ords were dead on accurate for them. They were for me as well. I examined GZ for a bit. Hmmm. Not before long, I found the beast. It was in good condition. A very original hide and it seems to work very well.

But my little story does not end there. I wondered what had become of "What A Wonderful World". I knew it was archived.. but was it still there? I went for a trot and sure enough.. I found it Big Grin Of course, I couldn't resist the temptation to smugly SMS Mr Ayepeacee to taunt him Razz If you want to know if he found it - you will have to look out for his log Razz

A great cache, Ayepeacee. Thanks for bringing me back to the area Smile

We found it! Never seen one of these before. Very cool hide, but found quite quickly. Co-ords very accurate.
Thanks for this one.

13-Jun-12
I was reading the descriptions to this cache as we were driving out to it, and nearly turned around because I thought what chance was there of finding this very tricky hide in the dark. Sad Arriving we could see lights and a computer. Nyssaflutterby and CO were sitting and informed us that Nyssaflutterby had found the cache and returned it!! Mmmmm very tricky, and no pressure was put on us from the gallery! Razz (the CO and FTF)! They were not telling us anything, except when I disturbed a toad, we got warned about the green ants!! Twisted The coordinates were spot on but of course you look further afield just in case!! But back again at GZ. I was some what surprised when I had the cache in my hand, it took a little while to comprehend.

Well done to Nyssaflutterby for the FTF on this very difficult cache.

Thanks also to ayepeacee, I still have nightmares on modified monster truck toy thingy!!

13-Jun-12
Well gotta say I found that one rather easy and ants must have been asleep when I got it. From the description thought it would be difficult but thankfully wasn't. Good hide though very well thought out
