Tftc hamfamity. A couple of mornings to spend in Albury. From the motel room, sussed out a group of caches in a nice setting. So began a 5.5 k walk commencing just before sunrise. Managed to get 5 of 5.
Had to have a little bit of a look around and in fairness, the hint is correct.

Lots of Mountain Bike Tracks here and you can understand why!.

Out visiting family from the UK and doing some caching with big brother Pprime. Today was our Nail Can Hill day. We had done some puzzle solving so had a few to collect although sadly a couple we could not crack. We had convinced the geomum to get up before the birds and drop us the other side of the hill with the plan being to come down Range Rd when we were done which leads us right to home. I am not a fan of up and very slow so we set off on the hike while still dark to get to the top then walked north to the Isolation cache where we started the hunt with the early morning light and then moved south and to the east.
After the near heart attack getting Idle Quarry I huffed and puffed to this cache. Looked in a few spots before I spotted the cache. Container is not shutting properly so not weather proof but surprisingly the log was dry.
Log signed and replaced as found. Thanks for placing this cache for us to find!!

What a beautiful little spot, Toole the little ones for a walk and they were over the moon to find a treasure. TFTC ( didn’t bring a pen, only took picture)
Such a beautiful spot full of flowering chocolate lilies at this time of year. This one under a loose rock - no need to move any embedded rocks. Such a great spot enjoyed the search with beauties and the beast.
For some reason we found this really tricky and was too embarrassed to post last weekend that we couldn't find it, there was not a single DNF in the log and I didn't want to be the first! I had down my homework this week and read all the posts and looked at all of the photos so had more confidence this time.
And yes we found it.
This is a beautiful bit of bush, esp at the moment with wildflowers and new growth. Please be careful where you stand to protect the vegetation.
There are so many options here so a little clue to reduce "geodamage"...
Its uphill of the track and you don't need to lift embedded rocks.

The start of a hike finding caches on a section of Nail Can that l needed to turn to yellow. Couldn't have picked a better day to take on this section of the hill. The wild flowers were out in force and there was green grass abound. Birds and bees were busy doing their thing. But something is missing. What could it be? Something tall dark and handsome perhaps? No such luck! I am talking about my partner, who let me log these caches under my single profile. But don't worry, l will drag him up this glorious range soon, because life is better when you are out and about caching with your partner. Please accept this as a generic log. There was no issues with the caches, bar one, and l contacted the CO's about the issue. So thanks to: zachboris, Thewins5, hamfamily, dani_bee and team mvb. To "P" from Thewins5, l got to meet 2 of your colleagues along the way. The only sad part of my journey is there was very little water flowing down the falls.
Car in getting a service so what better way to spend the time than a bush walk and a few caches. TFTC hamfamity.
This took a long time to locate GZ and even longer to find the cache. This was mainly due to me looking on the wrong side of the path, a rethink in my strategy yielded immediate results and I found the cache

Took a stroll on the hill noting early season butterflies and wildflowers along the way. Kept an ear out for whizzing mountain bikes and was pleased to avoid tango-ing with them.
Chocolate lilies about to pop at GZ ... spotted the first of the donkey orchids and the glow of sundews in the setting sunshine nearby.
Found the hide just off the track, as promised, all in good condition.
Great location! Thanks for encouraging visitors to the Nail Can Range hamfamity!
Sorry for the slow log.

Sorry for the slow log.
The first time geocaching for while, the geo-dog and I headed up Nail Can Hill - the new local haunt. One of a few we planned to hit up on a delightful early spring day. Great spot, took a bit of bushbashing to get to. Thanks for the hide!
Change of pace and altitude - off the mountain and outa the valley! Orienteering events and a bit of geocaching on a sunny Sunday post Kangaroo Hoppet TFTC
Went to the start of the track at first then bush bashed to gz. Once there I started my search. Have to say I would say this cache is a micro not a small. Took me a while as my gz was on the track. TFTC
Nice easy find on a beautiful spring day hiking the trail with the Geopups. Was a bit daunted to find the large number of rocks around but quickly had this one in hand. Thanks for bringing us to this beautiful place! TFTC.
This hill is way above my fitness level but those green dots on the map make you do extreme things. One very tired cacher and geodog but 3 smiley faces today.

After dropping my son off at Border Music Camp I had a bit of time before I needed to head to the airport and back to Sydney, so decided to search for some of the caches on Nail Can Hill. After finding Nail Can I continued upwards then downwards until I got to GZ, where I made a quick find. There is space here for a _much_ larger container! TNLNSL, TFTC

#3158 9 of 10 today.
Day 3 of the HCRT trip to Albury Wodonga.
Only 1/2 a day for geocaching today before heading back to Canberra and I was riding solo this time. It was foggy this morning so I thought: why not rise above it ? So after breaky I headed out to the west Wodonga hills where there is a busy MTB community. Clearly there had been some event on over the weekend as there were lots of signs and bunting, but the trails were clear and quiet today. Lots of climbing and the odd find later, I was ready to take a break. Next I headed over to Nail Can Hill above Albury. You can't come to Albury and not visit the hill. Found a small series of 5 up there. All in all a lovely morning for some sometimes strenuous climbing, but the cool conditions made it a delight.
I'm not sure about the D1 rating, I think it is probably a D2. it took me a few minutes to locate this one. I added a new, waterproof logsheet.

Pretty well the first rock I turned over here. Paper is wet despite replaced 5 days ago and no rain.
Down to Albury for a mere 48 hours, but managed to sneak out this afternoon for two of them. With a mountain bike race or something on very recently (still going I think) the little trail down from the top to here was part of that, and possibly a hiker shouldn't have been on it, but I kept alert and ready to abandon trail if needed. I wasn't disturbed at all until nearly back to the top again. Cache quickly found, but the logbook was a sodden mass, so I dropped in a fresh sheet.
Thanks for placing this cache, hamfamity. Left in good condition.

The Great Southern Puzzle Plunder plan had been hatched. ZQX, TikvaNZ, AngelG27 and I would travel from Canberra to Albury and northern Vic regions for a great weekend of puzzle finds and other assorted caches that would achieve various goals for each of us. Prior to our departure, we worked our way through a list of puzzles over a few weeks to get Final coords. We then departed Canberra at 5am and returned at 7pm the following evening, fairly pooped. I managed to find 50 different D/T combinations over the 2 days, 42 on Saturday. A huge amount of fun...and some terrible jokes and puns throughout.
It was getting late. TikvaNZ and I kept going. This would be our 40th D/T combo for the day. A quick find along the MTB track. TFTC hamfamity

A Southern Puzzle Plunder was hatched a few weeks ago for this weekend with ZQX, AngelG27 and Fox in Jox. Much puzzle solving homework ensured with a focus on the higher D/T combinations, and also finding specific caches to fulfill the requirements for some challenges. The specific plan/route was only finalised over the last few days; start with the Nutty November series, pick off challenges and puzzles from around Beechworth and back to Albury, find interesting traditionals on the way that would help us qualify for a challenge to find 25 D/T combinations in a day, finish the day over dinner with a another Canberra caching team also caching in the area, overnight in Albury, pick off challenges and puzzles from around Chiltern and back to Albury, and finally aim to be home before dark.
We left Canberra at 5am, and found the first cache in Yackandandah at 9am, finishing for the day just before midnight. On the Sunday we started around 7am and left Albury soon after 3pm, arriving home around 7pm.
The mission exceeded expectations, with several caching goals achieved amongst the team. Our individual statistics varied a little, due to previous finds and other personal goals. I passed the 7500 finds mark and ended up with 48 finds on the Saturday (with over 40 unique D/T combinations) and another 13 finds on the Sunday (involving lots more walking). Overall we found about half the pool of puzzles and challenges we had pre-prepared as possibilities, so we'll be back again sometime.
This was my 46th find for the day. Fox in Jox and I decided to see how many more D/T combinations we could squeeze in before midnight as we were up to 38, and the opportunity to get this high may not happen again for a while. As there was a cluster on this hill we went for a pleasant night walk. #40 combination for us. Quickly found. Nice views of the lights below. TFTC.

A nice find with my muggle mother-in-law. The plastic bag was soaked inside and out, but somehow the log had stayed dry enough to write on. Dried it with some paper tissue I happened to have with me and put it back in place, but needs maintenance. Thank you for the cache, my second one in Aus, and greetings from Finland!
#2054 It was no secret that we had a great day out caching with the geohounds. The sun was shining for a change and we took full advantage. This was our 12th and final find for the day before finding some dinner in town and heading homeward. After a slow start to the day, Mrs BGF was on fire at finding caches with our new gps and this was no exception. Thanks hamfamity for the fun.
We had a lovely day walking around Nail Can Hill. Took a little search, I think the co ords may be slightly out.
We didn't bring a pen (oops) so we have taken a photo of us at GZ. Will come back one day to write our name in.

Out for a morning caching in Albury. Completed Nail Can, the CP river run and Wonga Wetlands. I couldn't image biking this trail, it looks deadly. A quick find. TFTC.
A muggle jogged by just as I made the find. Wouldn't you know it. Still, I think he was in his own headphone-induced jogging-rhythm trance and didn't notice me.
Tks hamfamity!

found it by accident. thought it was another cache that hadn't come up on my maps.
coordinates must be off. cute little spot though!

As we approached GZ we listened out for MTB riders as you wouldn't see them coming cause of the heavy scrub, all quiet so the search was on and it was't long before the cache was in hand. TFTC
Team poozelbear 3rd find for today. Great little side track. Samwyzer found this one. Tftc.
This bike track would be something else . Cache was soon found and log signed. TFTC hamfamity.
Tricky little track that I don't think I'd want to tackle on a bike! Quick find in a nice location. Thanks, hamfamity.
Sorry for my delayed and boring log but I REALLY need to catch up on old finds.

Found on my roadtrip to Mega.
Appreciate you bringing me here and breaking up the drive.
Cheers & T.F.T.C!

Found after a long search. Nice spot but the coords are a little out. It's uphill from the track and I was looking down. Thanks for the cache.
Picked the wrong day for a walk up nail can only managed four finds to hot, This is the last one for the day was planning to do a few more but the heat along this track was starting to take it's toll, the things we do to find hidden caches. I can't believe they ride mountain bikes along these tracks I had trouble walking them. The cache was well hidden and in good condition. Now the walk back dragging my feet. TFTC
A hard climb (for me anyway) and being a little confused by the track names, it took me a little while to proceed down the appropriate track. How do people ride bikes down here? It was hard enough to walk! Anyway the cache was soon in hand after some unnecessary bush bashing. Thanks Hams.
I loved the history lesson on this track. I was curious about Glock ever since I passed it the first time. Found with Beastmode26

[:(!] Went for a caching run for a couple of hours before tea and this was on of them, parked the geocar as close as possible to GC3QM13 - (Goin' Nowhere) and walked in from there, on arrival at GZ the cache was located and it was quickly in hand.
I like it

Out and about on the hill with the Ez boys today and thought if take the opportunity to finally grab this one.
While Little Ez was having a ride with Big Ez, I took Micro Ez for a walk into the bush.
Took a bit of finding after a bit of a scramble around a bit, but managed to find it eventually.
Not a bad spot for a but of a view here. I think we surprised a bike rider as he passed, not expecting to have spectators hiding in the scrub
TFTC, Cheers.
