All good for this one, if you would like a more detailed description of my finds today, check out #1.
The highlight of the day for me was finding the previous logged ‘cacher’ in one of them was someone who had accidentally found it while pruning trees. They signed it and left it there, nice.
Thanks the Wanglers for all these hides and maintaining them. Random FPs awarded throughout the series, but I will need to come back another time to finish it.

On the road from Geraldine to Christchurch and decided to get a few caches along the way.

I had a fairly good search and was about to look in the place where I understood it wasn't supposed to be when a large item of farm machinery appeared out of nowhere. I thought it better that I move on to the next site.
On a road trip south, enjoying the day and pic up some caches. TFTC

I couldn't spot this at first. Dived into the bushes twice before Macwatt found it elsewhere! Thanks for the cache
I found some of the caches in this series in October last year but the rest have been sitting patiently waiting for my attention for a very long time. Today was the day to pay a visit and enjoy the veritable feast of geocaching along this route. Thanks so much for hiding these caches.
Quick find on the way through from Chch to Mount Cook. Warm day in the sunshine. Thanks to all cache owners for taking the time to place and maintain your caches. Team Broadbent (signed TB on micros). Find # 1847
Today we made a trip to Mt. Sunday. On the way we searched, found and logged all other caches, too. The weather was fine, not too warm, a little bit cloudy, and in the mountains there was a heavy wind.
Almost no muggels could be seen there - but a lot of beautiful landscape and snow covered mountains.
Thanks to Old Boots! for showing us this location and for the fun we had at Thompsons Track #11 (Canterbury). The search we had here today didn't take too much time.
Greetings from Germany and hope to see you soon in the forest.

Found with nissan 65. Flew in yesterday from sydney for a short holiday. Hoping to see as much as i can on the south island and pick up caches along the way . Thanku for the cache
On my way back to Dunedin after cleaning up some of the Fresh Breath ones west of Chch. Decided to go as far as I could along here before it got dark. It was getting quite late now and I disturbed a few birds who had settled down for the night. I searched and searched and was on the phone to the previous finder when I spotted it. A reasonable size container but easy to miss.
On a mission with BCD along Thompsons Track to get numbers for the Hidden Creatures. TFTC
On holiday in ChCh (Ashburton) for the weekend with darkangel so we decided to join the local Ashburton ianfr on what turned out to be an 11 hour adventure through Thompson's Track and around town, in an attempt to collect 100 caches in a day. We'd all always wanted to do it, and we saw a perfect opportunity to try. What we got to around 80 before we hit a brick wall and soon could only log DNF's, but thankfully and eventually, we hit the milestone in the end (104 in the end!). Signed all logs today as Team DIM.
#20. Nice and quick find. TFTC.

Making my way home after the Oamaru Geofest. Had wanted to do this track for a while now and today worked in perfectly. With sun and no wind it was a pleasant collect of this varied and interesting trail.

thanks for the placement, we have been loved travelling and visiting the roads of Christchurch and the many caches each CO has taken the time to place, thank you for taking the time to place and maintain them.
An enjoyable morning geocaching with KotukuSI along Thompsons Track. Thanks for setting it up.
Gorgeous Spring morning, decided to hit this trail with peter 007; we had started it a couple of months ago on the way to a pirate event but only had a time for a few. Bit of a sortie today.
Thanks Old Boots for setting this up & TW for maintaining the trail.

Had a goal of 50 caches today to go towards a challenge I am working on. This was a very easy and efficient way of finding 50 in a hurry. I really appreciate you setting up and looking after the trail. Thank you TheWanglers for the caches

Thanks to the Cache Owner who has gone to the trouble of creating this cache, determining the coordinates and then averaging them to make sure they are accurate, placing the cache and registering it online for our enjoyment. Without Cache Owners doing their bit, there wouldn't be a fun hobby that we all love - so again a big THANK YOU. For our bit, all we need to do is find and log the cache that was carefully placed for our personal enjoyment. As we log it we should consider that the Cache Owner also needs to maintain it - when the log sheet fills up, they must replace it. When the container becomes full of water, they need to empty it. When the container is broken, they need to repair it. When it goes missing they need to find or replace it. Well..... the great news is we can do our bit too - make sure your log doesn't take an entire page - just a name and date. If full of water, empty and dry the cache as best as possible. Be careful when handling the cache and make sure you replace it where you found it. If it has a bag, seal it. Just remember - the Cache Owner showed respect to you by placing the cache - please respect them and fellow cachers that follow you by being careful with the cache. And if you have a spare log sheet and the cache you are at needs one, please leave it behind. Finally, if the cache does need maintenance, please let the Cache Owner know - you can log a Maintenance Log or you can drop a line to the Cache Owner. Above all - have fun and remember the Geocaching Code.

I'm on a 5 day caching trip in the south island. Have a few aims - right now its to up a few specific caches that I need to complete my grid for a challenge - and find some interesting caches on the way 1800km later I can say I've accomplished my aim! I started this series a year ago, and decided that I really must finish it on this trip. I have to admit I didn't plan to do it all at night time. All up took 4 hours work, with a 3 hour nap in the middle. If I started at 9pm ... well I'll let you work out what time I finished
With a free flight from AMEX to use up by the end of the month and no family trips to use it on, a days caching along Thompsons Track seemed like a good way to use it. Awesome sunny day and lots of different caches to find. Some logs were too wet to sign. Some DNFs as well. Thanks to the CO for a great power trail. Too many to do individual logs so one log for all. TFTCs.
Today Injeanious and I started early and left home at 7am aiming to complete our biggest geocaching day ever. We started in Templeton before heading to Thompson Track and Rangiora. Altogether we found 126 caches in 14 hours. We had maybe 3 DNFs all day so felt very successful, although very tired.
Thanks to all the cache owners for helping us with our great day!
Sorry for the cut and paste logs but there were too many caches to log individually.
We signed our logs as JeJe to save time and space.

Jess.daphne and I decided to beat our personal best caching day of 51 finds and try to get 120. We did better than that coming home with 127 finds! We started our mission at 7 am heading to Thompson's Track, then we went up to Rangiora before getting home just before 9 pm. An epic day. Thanks to all the COs for placing and maintaining the caches. We signed our logs as JeJe. Sorry for the cut and paste logs.
Thank goodness it was in the much friendlier bush. Tftc.

We are visiting relatives in Christchurch and are from Canada. We started caching the Thompson track a few years ago but were unable to complete it at that time. Also There are many additions since then so we are back to complete it today. Thanks to those who put this trail together.
On our way to Tinwald and took opportunity to grab some caches along Thompson Track. Mostly straightforward just one dnf at no. 7.
Got some cheap flights a few weeks ago so the plan was to come down for a big run in Ashburton to achieve the 120 in one day and get the gemstone. OMG! We started at the crack of dawn and finished in the dark. Foggy and cool but cleared by lunchtime. It should have been achieved much quicker. We had not really planned a route and detoured a bit. Some of this backfired as we ended up on some long gravel roads that had missing caches and was most disappointing. We got stuck for about an hour on a multi I specially wanted for qualifying for another cache which was frustrating. However, we made it - with a few to spare I believe - but are totally shattered. Too many to log individually so are doing the copy and paste. Many thanks to all who placed caches. What beautiful countryside and we love the fact we could pull over and park safely. Not keen on the many prickly pine trees so many were hidden under. The breeze only got up in the afternoon and it was a lovely warm breeze - not like Manawatu freezing winds even at this time of the year. More traffic on the roads than we expected and they fair motor along. Many thanks for the caches. It has made the whole trip worthwhile.
Out for the first time in a long time, picking up some caches around the Canterbury area. #18 for the day
Catching up with Becsicasa and we planned to hit up the Thompsons Track. Borrowed my Dads car and we met up and Rakaia to begin.
Really enjoyed this series, it was nice to have a couple of easier park and grabs, and a couple that I found a little more challenging (because I'm apparently blind)
Thanks so much for the effort that went into doing this series of caches, I enjoyed my day.
TFTC TheWanglers, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 18 finds of 79 today, making this find #1453

Loving these. Hoping to catch up to Mr beers good cousins. By the time we complete most of these we hopefully will pass them. But the win will be short lived. TFTC
#13557. The hint told us where not to look, and it took us a bit of searching to find out where the cache was. TFTC.
StreetWalker and I want to reach 3000 finds for the year - a record for us - but I was still 95 caches shy (SW needed 83) so we thought the 53 remaining Thompsons Track caches would get us well on the way to our target. We left Christchurch at about 7am, and by 11:30am we were heading to Ashburton for a well deserved coffee and, being gluttons for punishment, some more caches .
With 80 caches found, we were well pleased with our day, thanks to the COs for their cache placements.
Not an instant find, but we got there, maybe the magpies staring at us from their roost on the nearby irrigator put us off. TFTC.

Todays challenge: the Thompson Track. I only have 7 DNF out of 80 boxes. Not bad
Thanks for the series and for maintaining it. Weather was horrible: snow, rain, mud and water. But nothing can stop a dedicated cacher

This weekend saw us travel down to Christchurch from Auckland to tackle some caches towards our GIO Licence Challenge on Rangitoto Island. We needed to find 125 caches at least 500km from home, which also consisted of at least 50 different owners. Some cheap flights made Christchurch seem like the perfect opportunity to fulfil these requirements. It was a jam packed caching filled weekend, and a bit of a whirlwind visit, but we got to see some cool things during this time. Day two of this weekend was all about getting the number of finds up.
Part of getting the numbers we needed meant that we would tackle this power trail along the Thompsons Track. It was a very successful run along the series, seeing they were recently maintained, so we had no DNFs (great timing, on our part!). Otherwise, nothing else to report, it was a quick and easy trail (took us about 4 hours), and the road was fairly quiet today, even though we did bump into some other cachers along the way.
Thanks for all the effort gone into setting up and maintaining this series!

One of 28 found in Mid & South Canterbury today, 17 of which were on Thompsons Track. Most of the 'track' ones were relatively easy to find. Thanks for all the effort that's gone into placing (and maintaining) these. Beginning to wonder if this one might prove more difficult to locate. It wasn't. Located it in less than 60 seconds! #1131. On way home to Dunedin avoiding the traffic on state highway one on a long Easter weekend. TFTC #14
Thompsons Track #11 (Canterbury) was transferred from Old Boots! to user TheWanglers
On the way to Moeraki we took a detour to visit the Thompsons Track. We found almost all the Caches, some of the Logbooks are wet and some Caches were not on the spot.
Thanks to the owner for the lay out and the maintain.
