Trouve I saw the seal colony last year but the rain was super heavy so didnt walk the loop. Doing it today and loving it. Tftc
8 februari 2024 15:44Dutchies on a holiday in NZ. Nice view from this point TFTC,KrokoDit is mijn 920ste gevonden cache.
Das macht Spass und wenn wir Glck haben, kommt an diesem eher regnerischen Tag sogar noch die Sonne Merci
We went on our walk to the lighthouse. The track was well visited and I had some problem getting a quiet minute to search for the boxes. So I could not find all of them but only a few. This one was easy. Cachers leave traces. Good if you are able to see the cacher highway and find the container at its end.Thx for hiding.
We travelled on Road 6...... Seals? Railway? where? After a celebration of New years night at car cabine ..... windy day begins. Lets explore the path. I like that views. Thanks and greetings from the Czech Republic.
Spent a little longer at this one. Gps kept me in the middle of the grass with nothing matching the hint close by
Yay! TFTC! I came all the way from Vancouver BC Canada to find this cache Thanks for being part of the adventure!
Very beautiful walk although the kids thought the path itself was too easy Found a few caches along the way but also a few DNFs. We tried our best
Saw a few seals at the colony, cool to view them from a distance without disturbing them.

Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I now live full-time in our caravan & travel the country visiting places we want to visit … we are currently parked up at the NZMCA Campsite at Westport … we needed to walk the Cape Foulwind Track to nab the ‘DoC Kiwi Guardian CodeWord’ from the plaque on the track, so thought we might as well do some geocaches as well … this cache was easily found, log completed & replaced, albeit we had to avoid the ‘muggles’ that were out & about on this beautiful, sunny morning … love reading about the historic aspects to the scenery along this track … pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally … TFTC ... TN:LN:SL ... #4,042 for us.
We walked the full loop today. On our way we searched for a cache once and a will. Thanks for showing us this trail. Especially the south part, was not even on my map. And not many people new this track.
Today we had a walk on the Kawatiri corstal trail. On our way to the seal bank we found this cache.

Some interesting history to learn here. The pioneers of the olden days certainly had it tough. What a great day to be walking the cliffs and enjoying the peace and tranquility. TFTC. Eatmorchikin from Brisbane
Thanks for hiding this cache weenz I appreciate it. We parked by the lighthouse carpark. This is the furthest we walked. We will save the rest for another time and probably walk from the other direction ️
Went again for the wrong object first.
Thank you for this nicely placed trail,

Thanks for your amazing cache. I really appreciate the time you took to set up and maintain your caches. Cheers, Cympull.
The terrain rating is correct especially when you need to do it more than once to find the right one. TFTC.
It took several tries of hint items before the jackpot was struck.
Thanks for setting this up
Thanks for setting this up
Decided on a ride of the section to Tauranga bay. This was a great track to ride with a variety of scenery. Its amazing what they did in the past. Great with the signs. TFTC
Needed the hint on this one, and then it was a matter of deciding which one. It was well hidden. TFTC
For the first time on this walk, I didn't find the cache in the first place I checked. But, this was only because there were a couple of hint items that were closer to the one I correctly thought the cache would most likely be at.
Rocks and Railway is Rocks and Smiling Face for me. Found, signed and replaced and really enjoying the beautiful day!
Today my plan is to cache around the Westport area. Weather not that great but I've got my raincoat so it OK - not too cold anyway. First up, I'm going to walk the Cape Foulwind walkway to Tauranga Bay and back. Wow! Amazing history here. Railways, tunnels - who would have thought that all that was near here. TFTC, Biggles.
Day 9 of three weeks winter motorhoming in the upper half of the South Island. Travelled from Reefton to Westport today. Picked up a few caches along the way, then more on the Cape Foulwind walkway in the afternoon. Great views along the walkway. A quick find. #4105. TFTC.
Completing the Cape Foulwind Walkway for Easter and picking up a few caches along the way.

Had to laugh when we saw the info sign as we had just been discussing the land formation and figured out it was man-made. We were exactly right. Stunning planting going on around this area too. Cache is all good,TFTC
Found on the walk from Tauranga Bay to the lighthouse. Thanks for the cache, loved this series on such a fantastic walk!
*Thanks weenz for putting out this cache for woolwood9 and I to find!*
SL **tm/ww NZ** (may just be a black smudge on the many wet or plastic logs)
Weather was quite bad again with several heavy showers of rain
*We soon had another good cache located!*

A great morning walk along the coast. It was beautiful and sunny and people did not start arriving until I was on my way back. This meant that I had free range while searching and managed to locate all caches along the way. Thanks for making the walk even more awesme! TFTC!!
The kids loved trying to spot where the train went and couldn't believe that a train would have even been there! TFTC
TFTC quick find as far as I can go tonight or 2 dark to get back great views with a red sky
Here we split roles: While Paddelhannes went for the cache, Kanuirm studied the highliy interesting information panel. What a huge quarry this must have been!. And the danger and hardness of the workers' lives we better won't imagine (although unwillingly we had to).
Thank you again for these well considered caches!

This was the last one on our little tour. Would have loved to go all way to the seal colony, but just had not enough time left. TFTC
Today we headed to Cape Foulwind and had a wonderful time here. A lovely track above the coast line, a fine old Lighthouse and several caches to find. Makes a great day
We skipped the first cache at the parking lot, went straight ahead towards the Lighthouse. Some pictures later we finally set of to the track and found the next cache here. This was an interesting sign here to read. Hard to imagine with today's views.
Thank you for the cache!

I can't imagine why they would have stopped the passengers back in 1930. It would have been a fun day out for them.
We started in Nelson today and our daily goal was Greymouth.
On the way I had the possibility to look for some caches during a hike and the coffee stops.
This belonged to it and I could register myself in the LB.
Thank you says Pöni.

Intreresting reading, I was wondering about it on the wander and that explains it. Cheers
These information boards attract the muggles, but they also mean their attention is focussed elsewhere, so I could collect, sign and return this one unobserved. TFTC
Interesting information panel here tells you that the headland was all removed for granite quarrying.
We clearly wanted to see the see the seals. And so we went this beautiful way, and we were looking forward to the caches. Thank you for that!
Without reading I would not have guessed that there was a quarry. Fast find. TFTC
During our walk in the early morning we saw many seals under beautiful circumstances

(# 5400). Today is day 7 of my West Coast trip. Today I am traveling from Greymouth to Westport. Had a stop in Punakaikai to have a look around and grab some lunch. A must do was to complete the Cape Foulwind walk. A quick find. Everything in order. TFTC
We are exploring the west coast right now and the best way to do it is looking for some caches. The Cape Foulwind walkway is really amazing and we were lucky with the weather. Thanks for the caches along the way
