This was weird. I actually found two in the same cavity. I first found something laying on the bottom. I thought it was a rock and jucked it on the ground when I realised it was a container. But it didn't have a magnet. So I searched if there was a magnet in there somewhere and came up with a complete container. Anyway, I signed both. The first had a very small log I put just GC. TFTC
Looked & stuck my hands in where I'm certain there were some giant spiders, but couldn't find it!
Had to make a visit to Port Pirie today so grabbing a few caches along the way.First find of the day good to cross this one off as last time we had failed to locate the little thing.TFTC Tk2
Having tried this before with no success we thought we would have another go seeing we were "going Past" again.. After a quick look around it was a matter of finding the right spot... To my amazement the cache was located quickly signed and on our way..Signed MHThanks Tk2 for the cache
I went inside and got the shock of my life. On display were items from my own house. From deployments hubby had. It hadn't occured to me that times from my life. Our life are museum pieces. Thanks for the cache and while I can see it would be a tough one to find I managed to find it in the first hole I stuck my hand into.
This one is very difficult, me and my partner spent a while looking, gonna try again some time tho
Over at Port Pirie for our Anniversary Australia Day long weekend. Today we stayed around Port Pirie to tackle the caches in and around town. Had a thorough search but didn't find this today, will watchlist and revist.
Found on a short night time caching run. You have got to love when that happens, walk up to the artillery and the first place you put your hand you feel the cache. Surprisingly a very quick find which we thought may take quite a thorough search. Insert the nano rant here.
Find #5864 on 25 Jun 2023.

TFTC. Day 17 of honeymoon caching trip. Ride out yesterdays weather, now some nicer weather for caching around Crystal Brook & Pirie
Happy caching and safe travels!

I cant believe so much time was spent looking just to have a DNF last trip when it was in the first place searched this time. DOH!
Combination find with Detofinbars which was her second time. Cannon being kept in good condition.
Unfortunately cavity searches don’t appear to be our forte as well found no joy here.
We looked high and low and in all the cracks and crannies and still came up empty.
tried earlier in the day with no luck but knew I'd be back, and on my second attempt... success!
It is weakly attached but not likely to get lost. TFTC

Away for a few days with Featherwaite and Team Astro.
The plan was to get all the whyalla caches as well as the FTF series and the FITG caches.
Nearly got them all, just a few left for next time.
Came here last November for a dnf but this time it was a quick find in a spot that I'm sure we would have checked.

Failed on an earlier attempt here in November 2021 with Team Waldron, resorting to leave the find for another visit. Passing through town with Team Waldron again today on our way to a few days around Whyalla, we detoured for a search, successful this time! We'd spent a good 20 minutes last time, but today we had it in a matter of seconds! I don't get to Port Pirie very often so it's great to plug away at finding the local caches. Thanks for the cache Tk2!
Bam and BAM! Finally nailed this one after visiting previously. The little bugger. I though it was a rock (or rubbish) as I felt it but instinct told me to have a look. We were all really happy and the newbie with us couldn't believe that a cache could be so small! TNLN. Cheers.
Full time nomads since 2014. Still tootling around the country trying to avoid Covid hotspots.
Back in SA for harvest work. Spending 2 weeks in Port Pirie, today we headed arround town to find a few caches.

Have tried this one twice with two people and no luck. The little bugger is hiding well.
Good hide thank you. I am a Councillor on the State of QLD Council of Auxiliaries, Grant Writer and member of the Ipswich RSL Sub-Branch and Secretary of the Womens Auxiliary.
Took a long time but finally found it! Looked about 5 times over where it was hidden before finding it
Have been avoiding this one, but was talked into having a look. Guns!!!! While in the RSL doing some research, the family came up with not one, but two tiny containers, very close to each other. Both returned, improves the odds. Nice to get this green dot off my map. Tftc
We have been exploring the Eyre Peninsula on a driving holiday and stopped in to Pt Pirie to catch up with friends. They mentioned this cache so we had to check it out.
After meeting the CO while doing another one of his tricky caches in Snowtown we thought a TOTT may be required. Luckily we didn't need them today and found the nasty, nasty little blighter within a few minutes.
Thanks Tk2 for another challenge.

This weekend, I joined gridge98 on a quick overnight trip to Port Pirie. The plan was to geocache around the town, and then head across through to Jamestown via Gladstone and Caltowie in order to find a unique hidden month oldie cache nearby. We then joined the geocaching community at the Goolwa dinner event.
Today, we made the drive from Adelaide to Port Pirie, but rather than taking the usual Port Wakefield Road, we used our spare time to detour through Bute and Port Broughton. We visited a few old churches before the rain hit, and then took the direct approach to Port Pirie for the dinner event. A few geocaches were then visited in the dark, targeting those that Laighside Legends had DNFs on previously.
Newbie Laighside Legend mentioned that he couldn't find this cache before dinner, so we returned as a group, and I made the quick find... ok, I did have some help from a local geocacher. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Tk2 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. A cool cannon and memorial!

Found It!
Spent a while here in the rain before the nearby event but found nothing. Came back afterwards with some hints from a local and soon had the little thing in hand. Hasn't Freddo told you what we think of nanos?!

Nomads travelling in their caravan around Australia. We have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children.
In an effort to get to find #5000 at Millicent, we have to speed up and slow down our caching rate.
We are camped in Port Pirie, waiting for new tyres on our geomobile this afternoon, so while we wait, what better to do than..... well, you know, go on a tour of town using my GPS as my tour guide.
Oh No, a nano on a gun, not a fan Jan. But, surprisingly, we got the little blighter out of one of the the cavities. Thanks Tk2

And thanks for introducing us to Bam Bam. My guess is she went BOOM BOOM in the line of duty.
What a wonderful piece of history. Thank you for bringing us to this lovely location.

TFTC TK2 very nice hide and thanks for introducing us to bam bam what a lovely toy any man would won’t
As usual we cringed when we arrived at this location - a small cache on a gun does not generate great enthusiasm. However the challenge was set and we accepted. We searched the obvious places and then the less obvious. No joy. Then we repeated the search and this time something was noticed. This was a very well hidden cache which required careful discrimination when feeling in spots which could not be seen. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Tk2 for the cache and the challenge.
Hidden too well for us. Lots of nooks and crannies for a cache to hide and we are a bit time limited.
Still haven't found this one, which is rather frustrating!!!
Will have to ask a friend for some help.

Did our heads in this one. One of the first one of this type to beat us. Great hide. Tftc and history lesson.
Bit of a wander with Purrfect Di, muggle Alex, Sebastbat and Jack today.
Took a while here to inspect the engineering,
and eventually found the little blighter.
Thanks for this cache Tk2

#6424 - 13:20; Day 6 of the Alice Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune and now albida33 who joined us this morning for the rest of the trip, so most logs were signed S.A.L. as a result. After a second night in Burra, we were now caching our way to Port Augusta via Spalding, Gulnare, Crystal Brook, Port Pirie, Napperby, Weeroona Island and Baroota. We were now in Port Pirie and after a bite of lunch we set about collecting some of the local caches. Not usually a big fan of these locations, we stopped and gave it a shot anyway and were not disappointed as we managed to turn up the cache. TFTC Tk2
Alice trip 2017. Day 4. Today was the day I caught up with Sol de Lune and LuckL10n in Burra. We joined forces for the journey to Alice Springs. Today was a short trip to Pt Augusta collecting plenty of caches along the way.

On the road to the Alice Springs Mega with LuckyL10n and Albida33. We headed through Burra and Port Pirie before arriving in Port Augusta for the trek up the highway. Collected a good number of caches and all were found with no issues and the logs were soon signed. (Some logs were signed as S.A.L. to save space.)
Thanks for the cache and fun in getting to it and finding it.

Today am caching with 3LG zig zagging our way towards Whyalla to catch up with The X-Trailers.
A great spring day and the company good as well as the many caches we are finding along the way.

It has been a while since we have done some serious caching so we decided to head north with earthlight for a few days and meet up with The X Trailers in Port Augusta as they pass through there on their journey homeward bounds to QLD and cache along the way, now that we have set up camp we head out to grab some of the local caches under the cover of dark. TFTC
Had a bit of a look before going inside with no luck until after we came back out and had another look and I found it.

Woohoo! Was worried it would take me forever to find this but with the help of the hint and some others past logs I managed to put my hand on it relatively quickly
Finally found this elusive little thing with Tylma001. What got us was the fact that we didnt think it would be that small. TFTC
Infuriatingly small. Found it on the third try in three different months. The cache gets played with a lot so it moves, half of the container was missing when we "found it" (were shown by someone putting us out of our misery)
This cache made me re think my own existence. I lost sleep over this cache.
10/10 would cache again.

This is a fantastic one, TFTC, its a great way to enjoy the big gun. We found it, but I doubt it would have been so easy if I didn't have prior knowledge to give some hints to the kids because I was with some clever people at boystownFlipside a few days ago when they found it. WARNING - don't let the kids stand on the wheels, those things spin
You have to use your hands more than our eyes for this one.

Found while visiting my old friend the Huey at the museum. Spent many hours flying in this particular aircraft. Brought back lots of good memories. TFTC.
KarpyKarpyson and I embarked on a sweep of the Port Pirie region today. 30 caches in total for me. KK had been informed of this one by friends of ours so we readied ourselves for the difficult task at hand. This was not quite as difficult as the Kaboom caches on the Yorke Peninsula, though still very satisfying in discovering. TFTC
Nanno alert :O but an easy one, thanks to the hint.
We got a nice pictures here TFTC

Just asking who ever finds it next time can you replace the nano log, as I may not be in the area for a few more weeks.
The Noodler has taking me out for a day geocaching having fun my first day out.
