Crikey they really were some steep stairs! No problems locating the cache, thanks!
Down in Dunedin for the Mega this weekend with McJandals and NZFLOSSY. Signed the log sheet MDF Thanks for the cache.
Was down here for the Dunedin Geo Toroa Event from the sunny Bay of Plenty,Tauranga and are with some of Team BoP. Great to get together with our fellow cachers. Signed Logs MDF. (McJandals,Davidson clan & NZ Flossy) and have teamed up with our fellow bop mates for the last couple of days Squirrel Nutcase and Fap and Gap. (Fangs)I am logging using the Cachly App and using their template option which helps with my memory for logging. I genuinely thank every CO for their time and effort put into these caches. Much appreciated. . Trying to catch up with my logging.
With Gap (of Fap and Gap) Were here for Geo Toroa (Dunedin Mega). Between flight cancellations and re-routing, things could only get better, right? But wait, theres more! Somewhere on our caching escapades, I dropped my wallet (Tuesday) Its still at large, so if anyone finds itOne of us usually drives, the other is the retriever. That works for us. Weve either logged caches with our separate handles, or weve used FANGS to sign the logbook. Using the latter handle is more for mental health and well being. Its tiring having to write 15 + characters on each logbook A huge day today. Were joining MDF - Our BoP Teammates, and we have our sights set on chasing down an albatross, then a drive northwardGood hint, quick find. Thanks ingidayna. TFTC.
Finishing off some more logging after a great weekend caching in Dunedin for the Mega. Found lots of great caches with our BOP team mates. It was a hard weekend but lots of fun. Thank you to the many COs for all the time put into these caches Signed logs as MDF ( McJandals, Davidsonclan,NZFlossy ) to help save space
Found this one with a flat phone no hits no nothing. Streetweponz_69-RD1
Pulled over just down the road. Quiet road tonight, so safe enough. Quick jog back and up the stairs. Soon found after a wee count up. TFTC
Some big cones dotted around which was fun! A quick find after a blowy walk on the coast. TFTC
No signal here despite downloading the list. Put my best geocaching hat on came up with the goods! TFTC!
Another cache helping us find our way to the Pyramids. Never would of realised these were here but for the cache. Great title for cache. Thanks for this cache ingidayna, a fav from us.
Trouvée facilement sur la route de notre découverte de la péninsule d'Otago.

Couldn't fathom the clue but had thecache in hand quick enough. All dry and happy at gz, us and the cache!, tftc.
Time for another CJ-Curry solo adventure. Feels like it's been too long! This staircase looked a lot spookier than it actually was - by the end of it I was more spooked at where I'd left the car! No dramas at this cache though, was able to find it without too much trouble. Got annoyed at myself afterwards because I'd forgotten to turn my watch on to exercise mode before climbing the stairway... ah well. Cheers!
Thanks for showing me where this track is. Just managed to squeeze the car off the road and up I went. Log is nice and dry. TFTC.
FTF (after the lockdown). Out for a drive now that we’re able to and quickly found. Will have to come back to do the walk. Tftc
Quick find. Couldn't do the walk as van was blocking the road. Must try from one of the other two starting points.
Exploring the peninsula and caching along the journey. Lots of lambs bouncing around! Cache in good shape. TFTC
Found quickly up these super steep stairs! Whole track is closed due to lambing until the 1st November incase anyone was looking to walk it
A short stop after a nice walk. A great view.
Thanks and greetings from Germany.
Es dankt und grüßt DasPonymädchen.

.Did not go all the way to the top today. Used the hint for a quick snag and tag here. Cheers
Easter Sunday 21 April - Exploring Dunedins amazing Southern Peninsular today.
Its another awesome geoventure to Dunedin, with The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby, Jack, Jill and William all along for the trip. Had a wonderful 10 days exploring Dunedin. It was great catching up with local cachers at several events we attended. Lots of walking and driving, with the odd cycle and wave ride to jazz things up. Thanks to all the COs that made this trip a wonderful success. Even managed to bag some lab caches along with wherigos, earth caches and events, with the usual mix taking us to some amazing places..

What a crazy place to put a walkway terminus! maybe they ran out of friendly farmer land to put the end somewhere with better parking. Nice view though.
Taybeedragon and I have an eleven day Easter weekend in Dunedin. Although, let's face it, given that we are from Blenheim and Picton that means two of those days was spent in travelling. In that time we grabbed a smidge over three hundred caches. Not bad, considering the amount of time spent way out on the back roads, on bicycles or canoeing on the water. A few virtuals, larges, letterboxes, earths, wherigos, and even ten lab caches in the haul. An awesome weekend!

Didn’t have coverage for phone so no description or hint. PJJOB and mr went all the way up stair, to a nice driveway. Found coverage, started to download details, mrs thought this is taking too long - climbed half the stairs - and announced “is this what you’re looking for?”
A dot day and this has had a blue face for too long. (Two years) Time it was found. Getting harder to get caches closer to home now but all good. Glad to have this one turned into a smiley. Thanks for the replacement. TFTC
#6059. Day No.2 of my long weekend in Dunedin. I had a workshop down here on Thursday and Friday and decided it was too good an opportunity to not stay on and do some geocaching. So booked a couple of nights accommodation at the Top 10 campground and picked up a rental car. Today had a CITO event at 9.30am. The forecast for the afternoon was not great but decided to come out to the Peninsula to pick up some interesting caches. The weather had turned by this stage and a strong southerly was blowing with light rain falling. Well that is an odd place for a set of stairs. Parked close by and started up the staircase keeping count as I went. At the GZ I suddenly noticed the cache hiding spot. Signed the log and replaced the cache as found. Thanks for hiding it here ingidayna.
Down in dunnas for the weekend "caching up" with kjr.
After a morning walk down to bolder beach and back up paradise track
On our way back up from sandfly bay pulled over for a quick find tftc

A spectacular day. Decided to ignore the chores and get out and enjoy it with Frame Family, her D, my H and S. Miss F spotted this one. A little tricky to pull out from it’s hiding place. All good here. Tftc
Lovely winters day and had a great time out for a walk and picking up a few caches with Kerynz, P, J and A. Thanks for asking us to join! Decided to get the ones on this road after the other track we tried was too muddy. Found by A! TFTC!
#3,173: Stairway to Smiley!
I came to this one after nabbing the nearby CANZ cache. Quick climb up to the cache. Hint helped a lot. All in good shape!

Full day on Otago peninsula. De managed to do a few caches, missed some (translation issue on some plants names). We encountered several sea lions and albatros but no luck on the penguin side, and enjoyed amazing landscapes. A wonderful day of geocaching. Thanks to all the owners !
Disheartened to see the no dogs sign on the track I decided to take a risk (dog on leash, of course) and was stoked to find the cache so close. It sure is going to get hard for anyone to get to heaven if maintenance isn’t give to the stairway soon. TFTC
I truefully hope heaven is a bit more then wahat is waiting on the top of this stairs but as a cache hide it was a perfect place.

Good walk up the hill. Parked at sandfly bay car park down to the beach then up here. A good caching walk today
A dot day for me and since it seems to be ages since I have had time to cache (3 weeks) and since I was further up the road getting eggs (6 kms away) I went for this one. A bittery cold wind today but cache all nice and dry.
Today we were on a mission to get to #1000. Down exploring the Peninsula on ANZAC day. This hadn't loaded and with no coverage we only had gps on phone to go by. Typically it was all jumpy so once at the top we decided to leave it but on the way down it was spotted by the careful eye of K.
WOOP WOOP we are almost there...999

On my mission to reach 2000 before the end of the year, so glad to have something nearby to attempt after work.
Nice one to get this evening. Really nice views.
Container and log in good condition.

I looked in the obvious spot but no, nothing there. I spent about 10 minutes looking around for it and finally I saw it down by the road. Lucky it hasn't been runover! I relocated the cache back to the correct spot and took the trackable with me. Thanks
A quick find this visit. Now I can get rid of the blue sad face. Dropped off a TB.
I came I found all was well.
However as I came from out of town I had brought a replacement cache.
I have placed this it will be way easy for you all to find.
Took old cache away
Had no idea what I was looking for but I was unsuccessful here today. A lovely down the peninsular today.
Walked up the stairway to heaven went up 26 went out ten in every direction and this one escapes us

I counted. I searched, I widened my search but still no luck. Looks as if several others have not found it the first time round so it looks as if I'll have to make a return trip some time in the future.
After doing the CANZ cache I headed off down the road to sign off the next closest caches. My heaven was only 26 steps up.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
Came to this cache as I was trying to find somewhere to turn to visit the Kilns. Counted up and down and found several hide holes but they were all bigger than a micro. Gave up because it was getting late, darker and cold and I really wanted to complete the kiln caches. I'll be back another time.
Haha, how could we not find it the first time we searched for it some time ago?? Great spot and nice views. Thanks for making us stop and explore the steps!
Not sure why we couldn't find this one a year ago, it was easy today. Looks like the hand railing has been fixed.
The view is heavenly- and the background noise from the wind generator ever-present. Stairway handrail is now unsafe and falling off.
Really bad signal in the area. The hint was very useful in finding this one.

Lucky last for the afternoon before my clutch went out of commission. Difficult to extract from the tiny space it was hidden. TFTC PS I had a different sort of clue, no counting involved, just went for it!

Found it at hint minus two. Log book a bit damp and bag getting a bit ripped. Could do with preemptive maintenance. Would have performed this but we'd already been back to the car once. TFTC.
11.15am. Counted the steps and came back a little as previous logs had suggested Then found quite readily.

Maybe our counting was a bit out as we had no luck so we looked around a few steps above and below before eventually making the find. Found with Aoraki Sheep.
Hmmmmm, up and down, up and down then something caught the eye and the log was signed. Found with debsnz
Had to search around quite a bit for this one but eventually came up with the cache. TFTC
Failed to find this one in December, so was stoked to cross it off the list today. The hint location seemed a bit higher than the final location, which I think is what threw us off last time.
Great view, TFTC!

Were thinking we might be in for a tough time with this hide but Mrs Geckoh spotted it almost immediately (after letting Mr & Miss Geckoh do all the counting). Now we are off to check out the castle!! TFTC

Out cruising along the otago peninsula caching for the day post MEGA. It was our final day of our Dunedin trip and the weather really turned it on for us! We had sun, rain, hail and snow! Just like our first day here! Awesome!!
We searched and searched for this one but with the rain and hail, we just got too cold to stay outside. Must have been really well hidden.
