This area was decimated by the fires and subsequent clearing. gZ is now very difficult to reAch due to this- cache has gone. I'm going g to archive it.
Nice spot. Found cache sitting out in a rock. Rehid it but not sure if it's where it was meant to be. Dropped a tb. Tftc tn
Part of a "geocaching travel" with relatives from France, so don't be surprised if you see logs in French
Wow this was a nice little find. Originally thought this one was just off a track, which i guess it kind of is. Took a moment to find out which way to approach from. Nice hide
Coords had us a fair way off - but as soon as the description mentioned a "cave" we knew where to go. NickCD spotted it - nice easy find today. TFTC.
Might have the date wrong but we found it after a short search anyway
It had been a long time and sadly we were without our original geo dog, but now we have 2 more geo muts to assist, they love the bush with all the smells and things to do
Anyway after a short walk up the highway and off the beaten track we found it, took nothing but the wife left a small prize as we didnt really have anything else, I think its time to visit the reject shop to stock up on geocaching stuff again

I drove part of the way in, parked and wandered off to find the trail into the GZ. Walking down you can see how pretty this area must have been before the fire.
Nearing the GZ I was trying to find a path into the cache, I tried from the side, above and then finally found a good way from the far side and below. I really learnt something today and very much earnt my smiley.
I was going to follow the path further down but was out of time, my muggle brother was keen for a quick cache down by the river, I will have to come back for more exploring.
Took a trash can thing, left some love.

Geocache # 901.
Found on Sunday, 13th October 2013 at 10:58 AM.
Conditions: sunny.
Current streak # 74 days.
Today's finds 1 of 12.
Morry9 and I set off from Sydney early in the morning to attend the Spring Time in the Bluies - 2013 Event Cache. On our way to the event, which started at 1pm, we came past to tackle this one. There was a fete on at this school today so we had a tough time finding parking (the place was "as busy as Pitt Street"). We drove around the block another time and eventually found the entrance to the dirt track that takes you to the southern end of Baden Road and were able to park right next to the trail head down to GZ. After a little walk down the track and then back up again, we made a quick find before signing the log and returning the cache to its hiding spot. TFTC WaywardWoman.

Cache check- all fine. The burning through the area has given it a very different feel though. There is a very large fallen tree just above it now. Still quite safe though.
Damp and gloomy/dark ... a few minutes to realise a backburn had likely taken away this area's sparkle. All still and quiet, and though the fallen tree did give pause, Cache was soon in hand. All good and safe. TFTC WaywardWoman
Checked- the back burning was very close- but it is still tucked away safe and sound. There is a fall tree very close though.
The RFS today put in a hazard reduction in the valley that this cache lives.
I'm a couple of days when every thing dries out I would suggest the the cache is checked.
I am on the night crew that is looking after the HR and we came across a large candle ( where the fire burns the inside of a tree and comes out the top of the tree) right at ground zero. It had already dropped a few limbs.
The burn went well and reduced the amount of fuel on the ground this is why the cache may be in need of a check.

Nice easy walk to the cache down a very well defined trail. After signing the log I followed the trail down to Florabella Pass and back. Looks like the RFS have put in a break for hazard reductions.
Thanks for the cache. I enjoyed checking out the area.

TFTC!! Took a little bit to find in the wet slippery leaf matter but again, great for the kiddycachers!
Part of a morning out and some not too strenuous caching with the geo-parents. Nice spot with lots of hidey holes, but we found the cache before too long.
TFTC nice to do a quick cache. Thank you for putting it in. Yet another place to explore. Took screw drivers left diary.
A bit muddy and slippery AND I picked up a couple of leeches but I found the cache, all nice and dry, thanks WaywardWoman and Nickoheap.
Hubby was at work so geodog and I went looking for the cache. Nice easy walk, found TB. TFTC.
Found on a short walk this morning with Prying Pandora, Riblit, and Team Webguy. Thanks.
Found it easily roughly where I expected.
How far does the network of tracks here go?
Cheers

Drove down the bush track and parked as close a we could.
The cache was a little off the track and a bit of a bush bash and rock climb.
Thanks for the adventure and well stocked cache at the end.

We drove around from Baden Pl, along the track, parked and had a short walk down to the cache site. In the end it was a simple find, thanks WW.
#1033 & my 96th consecutive day of caching
I was relieved that I had this one conveniently located to Tuesday night Scouts, because the cache I had expected to be an easy find earlier in the day turned out to be muggled. So it was good to have a back up.
We parked on the GWH, walked up the firetrail & found the track. Followed the track almost straight to GZ, walked a few metres into the bush & made an easy find. I did wonder if this was meant to have some camo over the container, as it can be seen instantly when you look into the right spot, but couldn't see anything nearby that hadn't been replaced by the last finder.
Signed log & got us all quickly back to the car.
Thanks . Dropped in a few geocoins.

First one for the morning and what a beautiful day to do it blue sky and sunny. Did a little to much walking than was needed followed the arrow instead of the track, geokid loved it anyway.
Great cache and location was very nice to go to. So many spots to look for it

After having the argument with my geodad whether or not it was safe to park on the highway (which I won because we parked safely NOT on the highway), we trudged down the Track De La Squelch. Then some bush bashing was in order. Er, maybe a bit more than we needed to. Geodaddy went ahead and saw the cache, but then he figures he'd send me in to get it...

After having to walk all those extra metres I finally made it to the cache location. Nice picturesque track makes this a pleasant walk. TFTC.
Was babysitting my niece and nephew for the first time for a sleep over - ages 5 and 8. How better could we occupy them than introducing them to geocaching. Well this was a huge hit and harrythehero and mollydolly did this one as their first. A classic cache to start with and they were hooked. Thanks WaywardWoman for another great cache.
Introducing our nephew, harrythehero and niece to the great adventure to geocaching. Having a great time. TFTC WaywardWoman.
I was not quite sure what to expect, but once I got on the right track it was plain sailing, I ignored my GPSr since it wanted me to go bush bashing and I thought that it might be easier a bit further along the track, and it was. Only a very Short bush bash and the spot was in sight.
Signed log and returned to the GWH and back to Blaxland and the next cache down the road a bit.
Thanks for a great spot I would never have gone to otherwise.
Very busy spot today, with 'harrythehero' and 'Team Canary' turning up after me, we must have missed each other by minutes!

The cache was a little exposed so, once the hint was matched to the right one (of hundreds) that matched it, it was an easy find!?!

After parking in Bridge Road I made the short walk around the corner and was soon heading down into a very secluded little bush area. The track made doing very easy!!
My GPSr soon had me at GZ and after a short look about the cache was soon spotted. A very well stocked cache just waiting for swops.
Left two GeoCions.
Signed log and replaced cache as it had been found.

Taking advantage of another one of my 'windows of opportunity' between errands ('retirement' can be a very busy time of life) I scooted down the highway again to a Blaxland spot I've visited in past years while chasing nearby caches.
Although I suppose you could park along the GWH, or further down at Bridge Street, I found it fairly easy to nose my way into this undeveloped end of Baden Place with the GeoBuru2 (right at the CO's helpful coordinates) and travel a bit down the 'trail' closer to GZ. I don't think such an entry bothers anyone, and there are really no houses that overlook the Baden trail once you leave the GWH.
However, I was slightly perturbed to see so much thick bush concealing the gully to my left. I guess Hoogie's log confused me, and I was somehow expecting a lot of these trees to be cleared. (In fact, I could hear construction going on fairly loudly at the other side of GZ, although completely out of sight of my adventures.)
But I understood better what he meant when I spotted two likely-looking little tracks going downwards in more-or-less the correct direction. And so it was. I strolled easily to within about ten metres of GZ, when my beady eyes spied something that reminded me of the CO's clue. A minor collision with an old (non barbed) wire fence only slowed me down for a second, and then the prize was mine -- requiring only a slight stretch.
3TF! My good friend GazMag had already been here today, and I was sorry to have missed him.
All was in very good order with the new geocache. Lots of nice swaps too! I took the 'IDTimberwolf' GC to transport up to Leura. LNSL.
I recommend this cache for a nice and quick geo-family outing. Don't worry if you hear a bit of sawing and hammering off in the distance. Down in the gully you're out of sight of all that, and there seem to be a number of little trails to explore along the creek.
Many thanks to WaywardWoman for another challenge in the Blue Mountains!

I have been wanting to get a FTF on one of WaywardWoman's cache for a while and in the past, I have been beaten by other keen cachers wanting the FTF also. I was weeding the back lawn when this cache popped up on my phone messaging. I quickly jumped on the notebook to confirm its location with Google Maps."That's not too bad" I said to myself. "I reckon I could get this before it gets dark" I then grabbed the GPSr, a pen and the car keys and ran out the front door. Knowing the area, I knew I could drive very close to the cache location, leaving me a short bush bash to the cache, that was the plan. However, a bush bash wasn't needed as I was able to find my way towards GZ quite quickly and easily. So quick, I hadn't let the GPSr settle enough to give me a good reading. I hopped around to a few spots to look at some hiding spots which contained nothing. With the sky getting darker, I couldn't wait around too much more. I continued to search and the GPSr started to come around. It pointed me in the right direction and looking at a good line of sight and with the hint helping me along, spotted the cache for a FTF!! A nice little hide and a nice location. Good to see there are some good bush caches going around. Well done WaywardWoman and NickoHeap. Once again, An enjoyable cache to find. TNLN SL TFTC.
