The original plan was to head to the Argadells north of Port Augusta but the logistics simply didnt work out for us.So its Plan B, the Riverland So here we are, The 3 Stooges, WayneAPN (or as we call him That Numbers Guy), weredunn4 ( Mr Adventure) and myself are hitting the Riverland for some targeted high T caches, plus many many others along the way.Suffice to say, these are always great trips away with heaps of banter, dad jokes, tons of crap talk, but best of all, the camaraderieAll caches found and stamped. Any caches needing maintenance, we did our best to restore them to good health whether that be an additional log or new container. Thanks to all the COs for the caches we found this weekend, without you we dont have this game TFTC

Out and about caching with Cheezel and WayneAPN while on a trip to the Riverland.Cache found and log stamped

05-Oct-24
The 3 Stooges are at it again. Out on the long weekend hunting caches. We wanted to head north for some high T caches that required a 4WD, but it didn't quite work out, so an alternative plan was hatched. The Riverland.Aimed for some High Terrain caches and chaches that have been unloved for some time, years in fact, and with very few finders. Some were quite tricky to solve and took a bit of head scratching and a few other body parts.Plus, some others of interest along the way.Always great trips away with heaps of banter, dad jokes, tons of crap talk, but best of all, the camaraderie, and home made cake. All caches found and stamped. If some caches required maintenance, this was done. Thanks to all the COs for hiding and publishing these caches. Made for an adventurous weekendTFTC SL

Day 2 of tackling this series. Male Chatterbox discovered it whilst on the lounge in WA. Did another 57 that includes 7 dnf. 170 km return trip from Loxton. Thank you everyone for the caches. Quite a few caches are crumbling away. Finding this series a bit hard. Long walks into the messy bush watching out for those wrigglys. Saw two. Eeek!
Too much bark looks too snakey.

27-Jun-23
Cheeky little hide, number of trees and understory. Happy to sign the log and move on. TFTC Liz and Bruce.

As this is a cache dedicated to our good friends we had to have a look for it
Cache was found in open and some distance from GZ.
We found a likely place as close to GZ as we could find

Out geocaching with friends as mystery randoms

12-Dec-21
Today the JAMS crew was out and about to complete the Wandering Heroes series. JJ52, mogni, Sir Spectre, tallbikestan and I met at the crack of dawn on a predicted hot day. We worked great as a team to find the remaining caches of the series as well as a few caches before it and a few after it. I was mainly the driver today and I filled up the car at Murray Bridge before the first find and from then on I didn't turn the car of until we had done finding and headed back to Tailem Bend, when we got to Tailem Bend and had 4kms of fuel left which added a adrenaline rush to the day. Thanks to all the CO's and the cachers that are a reason for another find. The JAMS crew hid a JAMS cache today to add to the series.

12-Dec-21
Out with the JAMS crew for our monthly caching run. This run was with JJ52, Allister w, Mogni and sir_spectre plus Tallbikestan but minus Michells&hound. All logs today where stamped as mystery randoms. Todays target was to do the armpit series then finish the Wandering Heroes trail where we left it uncompleted at sandal wood last time and then slowly cache the back roads back to Karoonda. The wandering heroes trail was in a poorer state then last time and that is saying some thing. This time out of 104 caches on the trail including a few stray trads beside the freeway we replaced 18 caches that where found broken/cracked but surprisingly almost al the logbooks where saved and less then a hand full of logbooks on this section were full and needed replacing. It was nice to see some of the caches still themed after all this years. Also good to see a few large caches out here. A good day out even if it was 35 degrees. Some time along the Wandering Heroes i got my 15,000 find as well.

12-Dec-21
Out on another JAMS day with allister w, mogni, sir_spectre and tallbikestan targeting the rest of the Wandering Heroes that we didn't finish last time we were out this way. We started off in Murray Bridge then stopped off at the Happy Armpit series before heading to Sandalwood where we left off previously. [^] After finishing the Wandering Heroes and some others that we went past we zig zagged back to Tailem Bend finding some random caches in random locations which all added to the fun of the day. It was pretty hot and the car air conditioner got a good workout, but that didn't stop us even though I was quite tired by the end of the day. Big Grin

Thanks for the cache Liz and Bruce. Smile

Really enjoying the variety to containers and the effort that have gone into them. Had a wonderful stay in Berri but now heading South.

On a road trip to South Australia now the border is open with Kittykatch, and barb2e calling ourselves Border Busters or BB. Forth day of our trip and loving the beautiful green fields and cool day. Awesome day to be out.

Mini Greeno's and Mr Greeno were going stir crazy after being cooped up in the house and needed to get out for a drive. Mrs Greeno suggested we do some of the Wandering Heroes caches as we hadn't headed out that way for a long time - plus it meant we could still maintain social distancing by avoiding other people and townships!
This was a quick and easy find by Mrs Greeno. There was a recent guardian of this cache however that had left it's mark. A massive snake had been visiting recently and shed it's skin - it was the largest snake skin I've ever seen and I've seen a few! Thanks for placing and maintaining Liz and Bruce!

Out & about on this cold, wintery day with LiB...
We headed to Karoonda to check out the Silo Art by day & night...
Finding caches was a great way to fill in the day...
LiB had found pretty much all of the Wandering Hero cache so she drove my car while I jumped in & out collecting my smileys...
Phil & Sue are beautiful people that I have had the pleasure of meeting & cached with...
The container & logbook were broken & soiled...
Replaced both...

19-Jul-19
Today we formed a small team to tackle a section of the Wandering Heroes series between Loxton and Karoonda. It was an early morning start today, and the four of us, FeatherWaite, GoodLook, @gridge98, and I, agreed to stamp the caches with a 'thumbs up' emoji stamp to save room in logs and for our ease. It wasn't a bad day to tackle this series, with blue skies and the sun out allowing us to run in/out and look for caches. Some may argue it was too good of a day to be stuck inside a car for half the time. There was a bit of banter in order to take our minds off the significant number of cache finds for the day.

Several caches were replaced due to their various poor states. Some containers had barely survived the test of time, and there didn't seem to be too many damp logbooks. Several detours were also had off the main road, and the caches at these sights seemed more interesting than the randomly placed heroes caches. Some were in good shape and creative, but most seemed to be the standard Sistema container. Thanks to all who had placed and those who have helped to maintain the current containers.

2y'stassies are true legends in geocaching, and I have met them a few times on their trips through Adelaide. Thanks for this cache, and it didn't take long to find. Cache and contents were in good shape, cheers Liz and Bruce.

19-Jul-19
Phil and Sue are two of the most lovely cachers! We have crossed paths a fair bit over the last few years and in 2018 we collaborated with a couple of others to host 10 events in Adelaide across a weekend - quite the fun thing to do. They are always smiling and so warm and friendly. These 2 very wise Tassies are diplomatic and always up for a chat and a laugh. Congrats for being honoured on this wonderful trail.

Today I was out with the boys to finish off what gridge98 and I had started many months ago; joining us was FeatherWaite and DavidWazza. All of the caches were stamped with an emoji thumbs up stamp to save room in logs and for our ease.

We spoke to CPWanderer before venturing out and took a supply of various sized containers with us to replace those that were cracked/broken/missing. The section from Karoonda to Loxton should be fine for some time now

It was a sunny and relatively warm day - a boost to our health and wellbeing. I packed healthy lunches and snacks for all to enjoy and caching we went. We had a great time and shared lots of laughter.

Thanks to Liz and Bruce! [^]

19-Jul-19
Found with Davidwazza, GoodLook and gridge98 on a mission to tackle the Wandering Heroes Trail with each of us in various stages of 'completion'. Started at Loxton and worked back towards Karoonda replacing a few soggy log books and damaged containers along the way. Also took the opportunity to detour off the series to locate other nearby caches, resulting in a very entertaining and rewarding day's caching. Thanks for the cache Liz and Bruce!

19-Jul-19
Out for the day with Davidwazza, GoodLook and featherwaite to complete the wandering heroes caches north of karoonda. All the caches are in good condition as we replaced the ones that were broken and needed replacing. All the caches were stamped with a thumbs up () stamp for convenience. Was great to chat about the different heroes along the trail as we went. Thanks to all the COs for their placements

This was another day with ilook4geo and chasing those Wandering Heroes. It was a very assorted as far as containers and logs go. Some were in excellent condition and some containers had almost totally disintegrated. Most were somewhere between these extremes.
Each found log had two more lots of initials added somewhere on its pages before we headed off again. Thank you to Liz and Bruce for adding this cache to the series.

30-Dec-18
Had a romantic day together caching with Purrfect Di Razz
Found a few more of the WH series, and some others nearby.
Yours was one of them!
Have seen these guys a lot in log books!

15-Aug-18
After a very uncomfortable night sleeping in the car, we made an early start today. With our next milestone in sight Mr Emily and son came up to grab some caches for numbers and to make it easier when we finally finish this trail. Its nice that every cache is different here. TFTC

12-Aug-18
Today was a day of WH caches and a list was prepared. Triple M played David Bowie’s Heroes on the way here which was very appropriate. Lots of wildlife seen today and seemed to have 4 seasons in the day but had a fun trip with only 1 dnf. Unfortunately a few of the caches at the end had perished but on the whole the trail was in good condition. It was good to see hero caches for a lot of cachers I have now met since being in Adelaide. Container is trashed and log book is just black mulch- see image

Two of Australia’s loveliest cachers. Always a pleasure to talk with at Events. There doesn’t seem to be many places I’ve been that these two wise ones haven’t already been.

Thanks for the cache Liz and Bruce. Found on 13 Mar 2018 at 3:21 pm. Find #5988.

Kinda sad this one is PM only. I've meet 2y'stassies on many occasions and they very friendly and open people. And strong supporters of GCA. They really deserve a cache that anyone can find and read about them.

Today we travelled from Karoonda to Alawoona and surrounds using Geocaching as a guide and picking up a few caches on the way with Roostaman and this was one of them. An easy find at GZ.

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Found with FerociousFlea on our 2017 June Long Weekend Wandering Heroes Caching Run. Totals included 155 on Saturday, 176 on Sunday and 6 early Monday, making for 337 caches in a little over 48 hours.

Thanks to all of the cache owners and caching teams that have this series named after them. Thanks also to those who make the effort to maintain other's caches so that people like us can do these caching runs. Apologies for the generic logs...

A quick and easy drive by as we cache our way through this series. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.

13-Aug-16
Another weekend, another foray into Wandering Hero territory. Today we cached between Mindarie and Alawoona. We ended up with a total of 37 finds, which included a handful of non-heroes, a couple of which were multis.

Unless otherwise noted, we found your cache and contents to be in good condition.
We really enjoy our trips along the Wandering Heroes trail and find it interesting to read about each of the honoured cachers and their exploits.

Early wake up this morning and out the door by 7am to Loxton with Lord Rossatron. We had started the Loxton caches and trails a couple weeks ago and we are going to be making day trips here to try and get as many as we can, the first time we did it we got 100 caches in the day and today goal was 150, but running on 3 hours sleep we gave up mid afternoon to drive back home. We did find approx 75 caches today though so still good effort Very Happy

Easy find! Thanks for the cache Smile

14-Jun-16
Today was our second attempt at knocking off a few more caches off of the wandering heroes series. Our last attempt saw us getting 100 of them and this time we planned on getting more. Our goal was to try and get 150 in the day. Due to our bad time management skills we didn’t make it to be until 3am the night before. Our alarm went off at 6am and as a collective we decided to change the plan to leave at 6:30 to 7am and snooze for an extra half hour. That half hour felt more like 5 mins but be got ourselves up feeling sorry for ourselves and headed out the door to start driving to where we left off last time. We got our first cache at 9:30 and then proceeded from there. We gave up on the day after 74 finds and a couple of DNFs as we were both starting to snooze a little between finds and thought it would just be best to give up on the day and go back to bed before we get into an accident. Most caches were logged with just our initials to save time and occasionally a log was night signed either due to a spider keeping guard or commonly the cache having a soaked log.

If I can remember anything unique about your cache I will add it but otherwise my log will stay very generic. Thank you to all those who have placed caches into this series and thank you to those who these caches are dedicated too.

05-Jun-16
We are on our 6 week adventure to the Kimberleys and we would love to get our 4000 while up there. So we had a little look on the map and decided a minor detour was in order. It's also very pleasing to get to finish off this series that we started at the SA oz mega. Thanks to all the COs for the cache placement to make our 4000 wishe come true. Tftc

What a great trail, the weather is fine, the birds are singing and we are "in the groove". Thanks to all the cachers who put this trail together, we are having a ball and have not missed a beat, so far. 3-Kings and I have come all the way from NSW to experience this trail and it was well worth it. TFTC

24-May-16
Oh wow, what a trail ! The WEEO and I flew down from Canberra to cache this trail and around MB and my wonderful Auntie put us up (future cacher there too ). We made it all the way to Loxton in 2 days but were shagged by the end. The caches were mostly fab and gave us a laugh along the way.

Thanks to all you cachers in the MB area for the great work in putting this together, you guys rock!

03-Apr-16
Having based our holiday around achieving 150 caches in a day, in the company of DAB, we set off early Sunday morning to fulfil a challenge sitting in our home town of Geelong. Camping in Loxton it was easy to start at the top end and work our way down the Wandering Heroes series and also grabbing any others in our path. A fun day was had by both teams as we wandered down the hwy, appreciating all the well deserved dedication hides to our fellow cachers.
**Thanks very much Liz and Bruce for the hide that helped add to our numbers today.**

03-Apr-16
Today was the day that two caching teams joined up for a challenge,The_Tritonz and DAB. We had set ourselves the task of 150 finds in a day. Luckily we achieved that number and then some !! We started the day very early and concluded in the late afternoon. While a good percentage of the finds were from the "Wandering Heroes" series, there were other hides in the mix. We found mysteries, traditionals and multis. We were spoilt with the landscape and plenty of photos were snapped.
There was plenty of laughs throughout the day and the weather was perfect. Being from Victoria, we were very impressed with not only the number, but the quality of the hides. Thanks to all of the CO's for an enjoyable but tiring day !! We can't wait to return here. TFTC Smile

Time 3:15:00 PM
Cache # 202 of 221 for this long weekend.

The Parrot was on a roll to try and get closer to the 10, 000 mark as this last 500 seems to be taking forever.
Unfortunately the knee didn't hold out and I had to retire from the field.
If you have stitches in your knee you really should cover them over before pushing though bushes.

I had a fantastic time cashing down some trails that have been in GSAK for far to log,

I worked on the Oz Mega, OTD, Geopets and Wandering heroes series over 2 days.

10-Mar-16
Heading north to QLD and doing the Wandering Heroes along the way and today I managed picked up a lot of interesting hides along the way and this was one of them.

It was also interesting reading about all the different Heroes and their exploits.

Thanks for placing the series.

28-Mar-15
After visiting my brother in Murray Bridge I am now actually heading for Queensland for the Mega and picking up the rest of the Wandering Heroes series that I haven't yet done with a few others along the way.

Had a very good day with only a couple of no finds and a couple near Karoonda where muggles were everywhere for the farm day so stopped me even looking.

No problems with finding any of the caches that I did find.

Thanks Liz and Bruce for the cache.

07-Mar-15
Project “Centroid” was on. After a bit of planning Fleabag and I decided to head towards Adelaide again for the long weekend to get 500 or so caches to move our centroid far enough away from home to complete a challenge cache in Melbourne. We managed to get 501 just for good measure.
At the same time we tried to get a few areas of Victoria done on the way there and back to start working on another challenge cache back in Melbourne.
Today was a wandering heroes day until we had to head into Murray Bridge to pickup some replacement caches from the CO to replace a number of the Oz Mega series that are missing which we will fix up tomorrow.
Thanks for the cache, the hunt and the fun.

07-Mar-15
Spiffy- and I were on a project to get 500 caches in 4 days that were over 100km from our home locations. I reallly enjoyed this series and the themed hides. Great idea and a nice tribute to all the cachers. With each cache we would recall if we had met them at events and what caches they owned. A long and tiring but very enjoyable day. Thanks for the cache.

Found at 20:04 with Southern Cross Caching.

Found while out for the day with Uni on a Wandering Hero's assault 'It's not about the numbers is about the milestones'.
We had a great day finding many many great caches, I apologize about the generic logs however for efficiency this is the quickest way to do it for me when I'm time poor. I would like to aknowlege all the great work and innovation put into many of the hides along this route.

Thank you to all cache placers,
Cheers and Happy Hunting

On a day caching in the Mallee added to our collection of Wandering Heroes series. This is a generic log which should not detract from the quality or amount of the caches placed along and around the Karoonda to Loxton Roads. Thanks to all the cache placement teams for their contribution to this wonderful place in South Australia for all cachers.

Our third attempt at completing the WH series, and we still didn't manage to finish it... So I'm secretly excited to have to organise yet another caching expedition with mum and dad Sylken to run to the finish line (at least until someone publishes some more new ones Wink.

We had a much cooler day for our outing this time, but the wind was pretty ferocious! Nevertheless, as always we had a ball.

Thanks to all the cache owners in the series. Your efforts at placing and maintaining the caches in the series are greatly appreciated.

I was lucky enough to meet 2y'stassies a couple of years ago at a wonderful Christmas in July event down near Hobart. FP from me Smile

01-Nov-14
Geodaughter KAROPI joined us here in Murray Bridge for our third assault on the WH series. We had cached as far as just north of Karoonda and felt we may be able to finish the rest of those published to date, as far as Loxton. We were very wrong...we left Murray Bridge at 07.30 and finished caching at about 17.45 and by then we had still only reached AlawoonaSad. We still have over forty to findSad

We had a howling wind all day....a lot of the time spent bending into the wind to stay upright while searchng for caches. Let's not even discuss what it was like to open and close 4x4 doors with a gale blowing up our rear end, we all now have overextended arm musclesRazz At least on the way there we had great fuel economyRazz. We won't talk about the (non)economy we had on the way homeTwisted

We found about a hundred caches and had no DNF's at all. We found some really nice caches, dedicated no doubt to some really nice cachersBig Grin. We have found several more caches in one day in the past but are using the appalling wind as an excuse for not finishing the series today.Razz

We saw very little wild life...some shinglebacks, one roo and two echidnas...oh and a bunny who took off like the proverbial...rabbit?? We actually saw a couple of his mates too, but they were many metres away instead of only about three metres with this little fellow. Thankfully we saw no snakes...they obviously don't like strong wind eitherBig Grin

We stopped at the Karoonda pub for dinner....very basic ,but filling, and arrived back at base after dark and somewhat exhaustedRazz

Many thanks for the hide Liz and Bruce...we have been lucky enough to meet this lovely caching duo so a favourite point from us[^][^][^]

We headed down to South Australia for a few days of caching, and the Wandering Heroes series was next up on our list, with a few other caches in between Smile We started off nicely and early today before hitting the trails, and after a slow start, we soon picked up the pace, and were on a roll Smile Many of the them were quite unique, and as most had good hints and obvious hides, we managed to get them knocked off quickly Smile We enjoyed these caches, as they were all pretty straight forward, and it never took long to find each cache Smile We managed to finish off the day with only a few dnf's too Big Grin

[Maroon]G'day from WA[/Maroon]

Thank you Liz and Bruce for your cache.

We travelled across the country to be part of the fantastic Oz Mega Event at Murray Bridge, and a great time was had by all. Now that it is over and we have a little time left to gather a few more smilies before turning our vehicle West and winding our way back home again.

Over from WA for the SA Mega. and trying for a few smiley's along the wayBig Grin Having a third and final bite at the Wandering Hero's series today along with Everlasting. We really enjoyed the drive through the countryside and having a great excuse to visit here. We returned to our accommodation 12 hours exactly after leaving it today for the 340km drive chasing smiley's. We loved many of the caches where it is obvious that the CO has expended a great deal of effort to enhance our experience. The journey continues, together with Suscoe we are trying to track down more of the Wandering Heroes. It seems to be an unachievable goal as the number of heroes keeps growing. We enjoyed reading the cache notes and predicting a hide which would match the characteristics of the hero. Some of the cache hides are very well matched to their hero.

Thanks to Liz and Bruce for the cache.

Suscoe headed out today for a long day of caching in the company of Phetlern to both the south and north of Karoonda.
We had a great day caching, chatting and fun with Pheltern.
After a very quiet night out here in the Mallee area we were ready to take on this challenge.
All up today we were able to reach 150 finds, a very satisfying number.
Our logs were signed in our fast mode with "S and P".
We had decided to do these caches in safe mode with an outbound and an inbound order which ended up to work pretty well and mostly avoided the worry of crossing the road.

Thanks to Liz and Bruce for placing this cache.

Day 4 for Sully1 and I on our trip to the SAMEGA for the myriad of caches available in this cache mad state.
This was our third crack at the WH series, growing all the time with so many enthusiastic cachers placing and being honoured. Thanks to Liz and Bruce for placing this one and congrats to 2y'stassies on your inclusion in this series.
I had the pleasure of meeting these guys at an event in Geelong, and always love reading their logs, appreciate the efforts. Smile

Found with Bogonghazy on a day out from OzMega up to collect the new WH caches that have been placed since our last visit here. Many thanks to all the hiders, and my sincere congratulations to all the teams that have been inducted into this fantastic trail. I've had the pleasure of meeting this lovely couple on their recent trip to the Mainland. Cheers to you both on your inclusion here.

Two missions for today: to log a Victorian cache and to grab my 1000th find. So off we drove from the Murray Bridge OZ MEGA and into the, errrr...sunrise. By the time we turned around at the border and cached back, this is more like sunset! Getting closer to the 1000....
Found this cache with Kestal and MissLill. TFTC

Visiting from Toowoomba, Queensland with Angloj and Kestal for the SA Oz Mega at Murray Bridge. We took a trip out for the day to the SA/Vic border so we could log our first Victorian cache. TFTC!

After making a quick dash to the Victorian/SA border from the Oz Mega at Murray bridge to grab a cache we decided to find a few caches on our return journey. Lots of great caches were found and stack of fun was had with Miss Lill and angloj. TFTC

Reperio at 1115.

After arriving to Murray Bridge last night and setting up camp at the SA Mega event site, I decided to head out today to tackle some more of the wandering heroes series. Always enjoy revisiting this series...learning about those new cachers I have yet to meet, and those cachers who I have. This is one caching team who falls into the former group, so hopefully one day.

Gratias Liz and Bruce.

Found with alpenmilch80, Cats&Dragons, funkymunkyzone, vistra and yorkshirekiwi83 on an epic 24 hour cache run of the Oz Mega trails, Wandering Heroes, Tour de France and a bunch of caches between these. Signed as NZ Fun (and also some instances of Fun NZ as the day continued on)! A total of 727 caches were found on this run! Smile

Thanks to all the COs for their placements!

Sitting in a pub in Auckland before the SA MEGA we decided it would be a really fun idea to try and see how many caches we could find within 24hours. So it was decided, team NZ Fun was born (myself, Alpenmilch80, Cats and Dragons, slieschke, funkymonkeyzone and vistra). We met at the dedicated starting point just before midnight and we were ready to go on the stroke of 12, we completed Signal, OZ Mega trails, Wandering Heros and the Tour de France with many others in between.

Thank you to the many cache owners who put time and effort into placing and maintaining these trails, we really appreciate it, we managed 727 caches within our 24hours, which was exhillerating, exhausting and loads of fun. Apologies for the generic log.

From Auckland via Sydney I arrived at Adelaide around 10pm on the 17th to be picked up by funkymunkyzone, slieschke and Cats&Dragons (thx!). The plan was a 24h geocaching run which included picking up as many caches possible involving the three trails of Oz Mega, Wandering Heroes and Tour de France. We made it just in time back to Murray Bridge to meet up with vistra and yorkshirekiwi83 at GZ of our first cache. With the whole Team "NZ Fun" assembled the run started exactly at midnight.
In total we managed 727 finds and 11 DNFs in 24 hours. Wow what a great team effort!!

After the "Oz Mega 2014 SA & Signal" Series we started to concentrate on the "Wandering Heroes series". Great trail with sooooooo many awesome and creative geocaches. Thanks to all the cache owners! TFTC

I am over from New Zealand for Oz Mega 2014 and today joined forces with fellow kiwis Yorkshirekiwi83, Cats&Dragons, Funkymunkyzone, Slieschke and Alpenmilch80 for a 24 hour non stop caching run! The log books were signed under the team name of "NZ Fun"

We started near Murray Bridge and worked our way around the Oz Mega 2014 Signal trail, then on to the OZ Mega 2014 SA trail. Once those trails were finished, we headed over to Tailem Bend and worked through the Wandering Heroes series up to Loxton. From here we made our way across to the Tour De France power trail. Whilst the power trails were our main focus, we also picked up a few other caches along the way. At the end of the 24 hours we finished with 727 cache finds!!! It was an exhausting 24 hours and we still had to drive back to Murray Bridge afterwards! Sorry for the generic logs, but a big thank you to the cache owners for all of the cache placements!

Found as part of a 24hour cache run Twisted with 5 other kiwi's while at the OZMEGA2014 Murray Bridge (Alpenmilch80, Slieschke, funkymunkyzone, vistra & Yorkshirekiwi83, ) on Friday 18th April. All logs were signed as "NZ Fun"

We had a great time and throughly enjoyed the challenge that this presented to us all, thank you to the cache owners for being able to create such a range of caches for us to complete.

We started our run at Signal, through to OZ MEGA 2014, The Wandering Hero's, Tour de France with many other caches along the way. For all that we managed we only had 11 DNF's in the whole trip which for the numbers was pretty amazing in its own right.

So again thank you for the NZ FUN Cool

Team "NZ Fun" - funkymunkyzone, slieschke, alpenmilch80, vistra, yorkshirekiwi83 and Cats&Dragons - found this on our rather loosely planned 24 hours of cache finding record run, from midnight to midnight on the 18th of April 2014. We started with the Signal geo-art trail, headed up through the other Oz Mega 2014 trails, the Wandering Heroes series and then across to the Tour de France trail for a total of 727 finds and 11 DNFs for the day. Apologies for the copy/paste logs, but with so many caches found in a single day it was impossible to remember specific caches, but that's not to say there weren't memorable caches along the way - there were indeed some great caches, particularly along the Wandering Heroes series. Special thanks to the cache hiders: OzFiresafe, Team Hurtle, and their helpers, for the Oz Mega 2014 trails; le equipe de cinq pour la piste "Tour de France"; and all the hiders of the Wandering Heroes caches and other caches along the way that we found along the way. We started at midnight on the Signal trail and ended at midnight after a few random caches in Eudunda before making the long drive back to Murray Bridge for some well earned sleep - for some of us, the first sleep for more than 45 hours. We stopped at every cache and it was a fun day but very tiring, and I don't think I'd do it again for a very long time (I'll stop short of saying never though, like organising another mega - ha!) TFTC!!! Big Grin

Find 552 of 727 for the day.

This one and its neighbour just back down the road where the 2 caches in this series I chose to stop for as I headed towards Murray Bridge.

I missed this one as I walked past, then spotted what had to be the hide when I turned around.

Thanks Smile

We are really glad to have found this one in particular, as 2'ystassies introduced us to power trails with their Ulverston to Turners Beach trail. We then went on to develop our own trail in our home town, and the 2'ystassies came and completed it. So good to see them elevated to hero status as they are in our private Legends hall of fame!

Travelled from Wodonga to Loxton yesterday, now I'm heading from Loxton to Murray Bridge for the Oz Mega. Me and the GeoDog are having a great old time.

Left GPS on the charger in car, followed geo senses (and trail) to GZ for an easy find.

On our way to the OZ Mega event in Murray Bridge we decided to attempt a 24 hour challenge and see how many caches we could find on the wandering heroes trail. Our final count from midnight to midnight on the 13th of April 2014 was 247 caches (not too bad for a couple of grandparents).
After a bit of sleep in the car, we completed the trail the next day.
We discovered that all the preparation we put into this helped make the challenge go smoothly...
plenty of maps, batteries, lights etc. Our only pitfalls were lack of sleep and a lack of loo's along the way Smile
The only caches we missed were those that were published whilst we were on the road.... DOH

Many thanks to all the cache owners for their creative endeavour to make this trail of honour to fellow cachers.

Sorry for the generic log.... over 247 logs for the day to do
