Hi CaligulaNZ
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.

Found it, cool hint. Nice walk with the little one. Log and pen were all soggy though.
Taking advantage of spending another evening in Upper Hutt, I decided to get a bit of fresh air after work by taking a stroll along the Hutt River Trail from Totara Park towards Riverstone Terraces. The weather was actually a lot calmer than I was anticipating after some of the gusty weather we'd had earlier in the day, and I ended up walking about 6km all up.
There was no-one else around whilst at GZ so was able to make an easy search here, although I'm not sure I agree with the Hint. Just ignoring the 5th word of it will make for a quicker find. In the end though it really didn't take me long to locate. On opening the container, I found the log to be thoroughly soaked. I was able to dry it enough to sign it, and with the whole lot replaced as found I was soon back on my way.
Thanks for placing this cache.

A nice quick find thanks. I got on my bike and did some caching whilst waiting for the Remutaka road to reopen. I found this close to the bridge under constuction. The log was quite damp, and I didn't have any spares in my wallet.
Ms_KR and I are off on a wee tour of the North Island. It was a great weather day and we cruised to Porirua and over the Masterton. The Remutaka hill was closed for over 4 hours as a truck "Fell off" part way up. The truck was a long way down when we passed, and the driver was in a serious condition. Hopefully they will be OK.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

This one took longer than it should and a bit too much scrambling through the bush. @peadub eventually found. Signed log and replaced where found. Log was a little damp so turned container upside down to try to keep moisture from getting in. TFTC.
Had a very nice walk along this part of the river trail. This was a lovely spot for a cache and a nice quick find. TFTC
This place is really worth a visit. The Whakatiki River looked beautiful. I was surprised at how wide the river was. No doubt as a result of recent rain. Continued along the track to the road and back to the car. I was impressed by the "PHELLINUS FUNGI". Now, all I have to do is remember that name!!!!! TFTC.
One of 18 caches located today on an enjoyable bike ride along the Hutt River trail (mostly) from Upper Hutt to Pomare Station. Took several minutes to find this one. Wasn’t quite sure what the hint object was. Should've googled it! Seemed to be a few places the cache could’ve been. At least it was a pleasant setting with no muggles in sight! #2493. TFTC.
Took advantage of the nice weather today and popped out to grab a few smilies in an area i haven't previously explored. After a very pleasant, easy walk I came to the river and then made my way up the hill a short distance. Cache was located after a brief search but previous log hints definitely helped. I would certainly suggest looking below not opposite. All is in good order. TFTC.
Reached the stream and then followed the track up the hill. Headed off-track where the GPS was pointing and had a little look around. Like others I found the cache beneath the hint object, rather than opposite. Cache all good here. TFTC
#5443. Easter Sunday, April Fools Day and its a sunny, warm and fairly calm day. Time for another long walk in the hills up above the Hutt Valley. Todays mission was another Welly Climbs multi and to pick up caches well out back on the ridges behind Cannons Point. All up an 18 km walk today and a lot of hill climbing. Those caches down side spurs certainly know how to zap the energy. After the first cache by the river I never saw another person today. The closure of the zig-zag track seems to have killed the outdoor spirit in this area.
This is an attractive area with the convergence of the two rivers and the surrounding beech forest. I have looked over on this very spot last year after doing a cache just across the river at Riverstone Terraces. The current cache took quite a few minutes to find. I saw the first part of the hint but misinterpreted the second part and so spent some time checking around a number of places that fitted that description. Finally on a hunch I checked below the hint and there was the cache nicely tucked in. Sadly however the container was full of water and the logbook was soaked to a pulp. Unable to sign so have removed the logbook and put in a new waterproof sheet of paper inside a fresh plastic bag. Signed the new log and replaced the cache where found. Thanks for hiding it here CaligulaNZ.

I came up this way on Sunday afternoon. We couldn't find it then, but came back today for another look. Took a different approach today and soon located the cache in a place where I hadn't looked last time.
Sadly the container was full of water and the log book is sodden. I spread it out on the ground, while I went to explore up the Whakatiki Stream a bit. Even so, I couldn't get my pen to write on it - too wet! I have a photo as proof of finding if required.
Thank you

It is a beautiful fine day for a walk. A quick find while walking the loop. Great view of the river. All in order. TFTC
This cache was the highlight of my day because of the fantastic location. The GPS was playing ball and took me straight to the cache without needing a hint. The sun was in an awkward place so photos didn't work out very well but I have the memories so thanks for bringing me here.
A great day to head out and after completing the Cannon Point loop walk I headed along this trail to collect a few outstanding ones. The track is pretty overgrown along here and made for an exhilarating ride on the bike.
What an amazing place to bring people, this is why I geocache. Really enjoy these bush walks and great to end up at a view like this. These spots are my happy place . Thanks CaligulaNZ for bringing me to this lovely area as this cache was the last of the day, the highlight of the day and gets a favourite point from me.
Found this one quickly and cache in good order. TFTC CaligulaNZ

2.28km car to cache towards the DGSC challenge. TFTC, took more finding than it should have. Number 3982
A quick find while on a very pleasant walk in an area we have not been before. Thanks for placing a cache here (the phellinus fungi were most interesting, first time I've seen one I think).
End of the line after a walk along the hutt river. A quick find and sign. Geodog is now ready for his swim and he enjoyed the walk back with plenty of water involved. Thanks for the cache.
Cache # 3,032 - It is hard to believe it has been almost three years since a group of 4 of us came down this trail and didn't want to bush bash our way to this one at the end. Today we decided to give it another go, and instead of bush bashing we found a small trail that led practically to the cache. We could have found this three years ago if we had seen this trail! A nice quick find at GZ, although hint is not quite right any more (suspect that cache has migrated positions). Did with Crystal Fairy, Violet Butterfly, Mycro Man and the new member (not here 3 years ago) of Astro Hunter. TNLNSL. TFTC!
Did today with The Wandering Dragons, Crystal Fairy, MycroMan and Astro Hunter, and a couple of dogs. Lovely day to pick blackberries on the way. Thanks!

Cache # 1,129
Last one today with The Wandering Dragons, Crystal Fairy and crew. Nice hide, lovely spot. A bit of drama after this, as TWD realised 500 metres back down the track that his GPS had gone missing. A quick run back to almost this cache discovered it on the ground where everyone had stopped for a water drink. Thanks for the nice cache and the inspiration to come down here.

3 Years ago we attempted this cache and never managed to find it. We searched a long time without any luck. Today was a beautiful day so along with the Fairy Half, Mycro Man, the geo-hounds and the Wandering Dragons and crew we set out for this one again. We stopped along the way to pick blackberries and this time we found another trail very easily and had the cache in hand in literally no time at all. Glad to had this one off the list finally. T4TC
Found it Thanks for the cache. I found and removed the travel Bug Eggbert Esel 6VFQZC. I haven't decided where to send him yet. I suspect Eggbert is an overstayer and maybe we should deport him to Australia.
I didn't think muggles would be a problem down here but , sure enough, a group of half a dozen with spades and other digging implements were on the track right beside the fungus. I chatted with them for a while before they headed up the ridge to do some track maintenance. I had trouble figuring out which tree but eventually narrowed it down and sure enough there she blows me hearties. Dropped off a trackable and headed back out on my mountain bike. TFTC Caligula, t's a nice spot and one I'll keep in mind as a swimming hole next summer.
On my second visit it was a quick and easy find.
The reaon I could not find the cache on my first visit was because I mis-interpteted the hint. To be specific I ignored the comma, which moved my search location several metres.

wondered what i would find after last log and did see their mistake I have removed the rock so it does not cause confusion and just need to look for the hint object carefully to find the cache all is in good order here dry and safe so I signed and returned to place. I have needed an excuse to get back onto my mtn bike for a very long time and decided today was the day. so Dobby and I biked up to the top even managed to get to the very top of the hill I picked up all the missing caches I needed for leprechauns series and sweet little mystery and even managed a second to find. so a great ride and a great caching morning. thanks heaps for getting me back on my bike. tftc

Found the hint objects but after a quick search did not find the cache. There was an "obvious" hidey hole at one of trhe hint objects but when I lifted the rock the cache was no where to be seen.
Will be back soon to (a) find the cache and (b) explore the track which continues up hill. I have no idea where the track goes.

Interesting place. Another stream/river. People swimming just below me too. Lots of tall daisy on the track. The grass as tall as me! All in order. Tftc and walk
Noticed that this wasn't showing up in our "found" list so very late log.... had to go back through the photo lists to get the date! Found whilst geo-kids (and geo-mum) went for a swim in the sun. TFTC.
Last of four finds along the trail here, and what a great location. The water was clear and cool and I took full advantage of it on the return to the car which was parked just opposite.
An enjoyable morning's caching, having discovered some lovely loactions. TFTC CaligulaNZ, #7320, a favourite

Last time we walked along this track we never got this far as I hadn't downloaded this cache into the GPSr. However I had it loaded today and it was a nice sunny morning, although rather cold. The GPSr told us we'd walked 2.8 kms from the car by the time we got to GZ. Mrs B directed me to a likely spot after we'd had a couple of fruitless searches and I soon found the cache, well hidden from view. Used the hint as GPSr had GZ all over the place under the tree cover. Last cache on this walk, TFTC.
I now now what that fungi looks like. Tftc

Not sure how I missed this last time pretty sure I checked here. This time it was it straight to it. Tftc
Found the hint matching objects easily enough and checked the likely spot, only to discover no cache. Other trees in the vicinity also checked just in case but still no cache.
A very interesting area to explore today. It seems the track keeps going on up the hill, but that is for another time. Have enjoyed this walk. TFTC
Sensibly we ignored all the warnings and urgings to cancel outdoor activities in the face of the expected onslaught from the leftovers of tropical cyclone Lusi. And it turned out to be one of the warmest and most pleasant Sundays that we have had in parts around here for a while.
We were happy to bag all 4 caches in this area, completing the series with this one.
A straightforward find. Cache in order; log signed, safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!

Found cache open and bits scattered. Gathered up what we could and replaced. Think there is a very inquisitive possum around here! Thank you
First part of track to this point is fine - minor detour through a well used paddock that has gates/fence removed.
Once you get past Cairn Views there is a wee slip (about 15m across) which you can traverse easily.
Cache and log in great condition. TFTC

Quick find. Log a bit damp, so left silica pack in snap lock. Master 5 took a treasure and left a couple in return. TFTC.
Due to the proper track being closed I walked along the road, then cut through an unmarked track to come out at the right spot.
Took a little bit of searching before I looked up and spotted the hint objects.
Easy after that.

Another lovely vantage point. Eorope had her mushroom eyes on and cache discovery quickly followed. Thanks for bringing us along this track, makes a nice change from the eastern side of the river.
Find #1581. Another nice Sunday in Wellington so another chance to go cycle-caching. Biked along the Hutt River Trail from Haywards to Birchville, then back to here via Cannons Point. Haven't taken this track before so was pleased for the excuse to explore it and gather more caches. I used to come to the Whakatiki many years ago to swim up the gorge but haven't been back for a long time so it was nice to revisit on such a lovely day. SL TFTC
I came down this way for a bit of an expore this evening. A nice hidden little track
A not so quick find while out on a georun. Had to go off track more than I assumed.
I recon the terrain rating needs to be a little higher.
Thanks for guiding my route plan.

Can't claim a DNF for this one, as we couldn't see a way to get close to the cache, and ran out of time to really explore. Will try again another day, but may try an alternative, and shorter, route, since it appears we have to bush bash anyway.
A lovely spot, well worth a cache here and nice to be in the shade again after the open grassy section. A bit of a scramble as we approached GZ, and was pleased we were not here after a prolonged wet period, I suspect it would get mighty slippery. Took a few minutes to track down the cache as reception wasn't great, in the end used the hint.

#4802. No sign of muggles here today. Great views over an inviting-looking river (it was a warm summer's day). Thanks for bringing us here.
Normally when I bring my 3 energenic dogs home to visit the parents we go for long walks along the river - on the other side...I didn't realise this track existed and enjoyed the walk, and now have 3 sleeping dogs giving me a restful evening . Loved the views and loved that the 3 caches bought me this way - exactly why I enjoy this game . Of course I had a quick laugh that the largest container of the 3 was the one with no writting stick - lol. TFTC
A very pleasant walk to the cache area. Soon found the container in a nice area. SL TFTC
Last one on my short walk in the rain toady. Definitely best and most interesting view on this nice little walk. TFTC. Sherlock Hood.
On cycle circuit from Silverstream to Totara Park this was the last before crossing the Whakatiki to Riverstone and back to the car. The triple Phellinus fungi is a great clue. TFTC
What a fantastic spot with great views. This one took me about five minutes to find, the coordinates were spot on, so I don't know why it took so long. Thanks for bringing me here TFTC CaligulaNZ
#3321. Lovely spot. Didn't see the hint object in the failing light, but found the cache after a short search. TNLNSL. TFTC.
I decided to find this, and the other two caches close by, after work quickly. And that is where I went wrong! The gate at the start was open when I got there and I was tempted to drive in. The CCTV camera gaurding it cleared that idea. After parking I set off on the nice sealed track. While on my way to the first of the three caches I discovered that I am not on a newly developed track, so I had to double back until I found the newly developed track. And it turns out to be quite muddy and slippery, especially at GZ for this cache. My GPSr is giving me cunfusing messages, however the clue for this cache is spot on and once I spotted the clue it was easy to find the cache. SLTNLN - TFTC.
Interesting cache site and a good hiding spot. Had some doubts of the site until we read the hint correctly, then all fell into place. Enjoyable walk while out with two friends. Uplifted Signal Aussie

Had a bit of a look around for the cache but then decided we would check the hint. We then realised we were almost standing on top of it! TFTC and for bringing us to this area.
Had a bit of a " I spy, I spy " game with this cache as there was more than one hiding places that fitted with the hint , and o boy , was it slippery as hell here but with coco87's help this found was achieved in a dignified manner ,thanks for a great cache
Had a great walk with janemay this morning , beware of the slippery slopes , fantastic view from cache , TFTC
Carried on to find this one after getting the FTF on Silly Micros. Found without any major trouble thanks to the hint. A nicely hidden cache. well done. NLN SL TFTC
