We haven't had a chance to get to GZ yet to see if the cannon has returned. Will try and get there soon!
This needs to be disabled as the council have taken away the gun and left a temporary fence there. It looks like it will come back but may not have a cache attached when it does. By disabling it, it may save a lot of people chasing it while the Mega is on.
Just realised we forgot to log this find.... Found with crzymelly & itsonlybarney. SL on 25/2

Whoever came up with the idea of a nano in a cannon should be shot?!?
As with all hides, it is the last place you look, but the logs pointed us to some really out of the way locations, until our friends resorted to phone camera photos in holes to locate the little bugger.

Not another nano!?!
But after searching high and low, INSIDE and out, we were about to give up. Of I went to do my geomummy duties, but the boys came up with the goods!
First time cachers official first find! How else to celebrate our first cannon find
Found log was very full, needs replacement, signed as CM.

Mr Minion and I were having a great day out caching today. I normally have no luck at these sort of caches but today my luck was in and I found the cache in one of the first places I put my hand. Thanks for the cache Chippyroo tnln replaced as foun sl
Find No: 6488. Out for the day with our mate Josh (who's recovering from a stroke), 3rd attempt (at least) at this one, a previous hint about long skinny arms helped, I'll sleep peacefully tonight! Thanks for the cache Chippyroo!!
After a lovely family filled Christmas my bf, Genghicat, and I are slowly making our way home to Canberra. Thanks to a heat wave we decided the coastal route was wise.
After a really great dinner at a nearby hotel Genghicat and I decided to brave this Cache. We figured we'd seen heaps of guns in Canberra , how many more spots could there be? 30 minutes later with wasp and green ant bites we finally gave up. Apparently there are many. No luck, so we made our way back to Settlers Inn (which I highly recommend if you are passing through) for the night.
Watch out for the wasps on this one.

Stumbled across this gun whilst wandering around Raymond Terrace for the afternoon. We hadn't meant to visit Raymond Terrace but we got on the wrong bus. It was the right number (136) but going in a different direction to where we thought (i.e. Stockton). I've never been anywhere before where they have the same number bus going in two opposite directions. What's all that about eh? We have a gun like this at work but we use ours so it was nice to have the opportunity to climb all over one and not get covered in yuck from gun grease and black powder. Took a few minutes searching and was on the verge of giving up when I had one last root, and bingo, cache in hand! Thanks for placing this hide, it was a fun search
Third attempt at this one, found while on a trip to Port, long thin arms are an advantage here- found after less than 3 minutes this time, yippee, fav point, tftc
Looked for a minute or 2 before the rain set in and we retreated back to the car. Will try again another time.
Great fun cache . With a stroke of luck we found it after a few minutes. Great Hide . TFTC. Jayne and Glenn.
with a few post giving a few clues, found. cant say I enjoyed this find, put a bit of strain on the arms,
Diamonjs and I decided to give ourselves a small challenge, no not there, next hole no not there. After looking through and feeling some hole was time to get mister camera out with the flash. Ah will you look at that there a little nano up there. So off come my multi jumpers I had on so I could fit my hand up inside (yes I am an Eskimo). TFTC
Driving past and Rusty85 and I thought why not, after a couple of minutes I did say "you do know I hate these caches" oh well keep looking then we had a thought and after Rusty85 peeled off many layers we had a cache in Hand. Log signed and back to motel for breakfast. TFTC- nice hide.
Have DNF'd this before and was convinced it had disappeared, but then discovered it had been found recently. Well what do you know. It was there the whole time, just a little tough to reach. TFTC
OMG 30 second find
Read the logs, came with a packed lunch and tent. The caching gods must have been shining on me today.

Had another look for this one this time I brought someone with me who has previously found it but still no luck it was not visible or within reach. I then rang the co and he confirmed I was looking in the correct spot but I didnt have a mirror to look further into the hole.
Took a look today as we were passing by, even armed with the exact position of the nano, from the CO at a recent event, couldn't find it.... might need a check??
Bowls day was on so we didn't spend much time here. I also have big hands and fingers which limits access to the likely spot. Thanks anyway
No luck. An impromptu stop on our way north this morning. We weren't planning on stopping, because we pretty much suck at machinery nano's (actually we nearly DNFd a 2L machinery cache not very long ago!)....
Gotcha - This was our 3rd nano gun find. We were up for the challenge. Found it in a few minutes. Tftc.
I always struggle with these hides and this one was no different.
Took ages to find it and then to get it out.
Eventually extracted it and signed the log.

It's been a few years at least since I last went geocaching, but I figure that the spawn are now old enough to enjoy it and to make themselves useful in the hunting for caches.
We found the site easily enough, and after about 10 mins, I'd narrowed down to a few likely hiding spots. Using my phone's camera flash as a torch had me finding the cache, but it took a few goes and some contortionism from myself to get the cache in hand. First find with Leggy008 and Leggy010. TFTC.

We had previously looked for this one a while ago and after a fairly long search we had no luck. I was alone this morning and decided to give it another go and found it within a couple of minutes. Must have been some luck in where I chose to look first. TFTC.
Found on my return to Sydney after a day in the area for work. I was expecting a long and frustrating search, but just some times the GEO-Gods are looking down upon you, and it took less than 5 minutes. Just lucky I guess. I did a very similar one in Ipswich QLD and I was on my back on the ground, climbing over everything and still took 40 minutes. TFTC Chippyroo
Not as hard as we were expecting. Took about 15 minutes. We're going to try the nearby bowling club for lunch next.
Tftc. Our first of the day. We were expecting a tough one, but this was hard!! Thanks to a local geocacher who saw us and came over we were finally able to sign the log and claim the smiley.

Found with kinfisher_au - with my help we found it within 5 mins , turns out kingfisher-au had been concentrating on the wrong hole of the gun in all his attempts but when i questioned the next hole. the cache was soon in hand. Thanks for a tricky hide Chippyroo.
We had travelled up from Sydney to Port Stephens, camping at the Lemon Tree Passage Big4 Koala Shores caravan park, for our annual summer holiday. But now, after eight fun filled days of swimming, bushwalking and caching, we are finally on our way back to Sydney. But the caching frenzy isn't quite over yet, with stops at Medowie and Raymond Terrace planned for the way home. This was the 9th find of the day, 67th find of the holiday.
Parked the geomobile & camper trailer in Jacaranda Avenue, and walked down to GZ for a look. We all had a good look over the gun but failed to find the cache container. What we did find was lots of red back spiders, so be very careful where you poke your fingers. Not wanting to go home with a spider bite, we decided to temporarily abandon our search and head up town for some shopping.
With our shopping over we returned to the geomobile, collected some TOTT (tools of the trade), and returned to the gun for a more "in depth" search. And, thanks to our TOTT, we soon had CIH. Extracted the tiny container, signed the tiny log sheet, and then replaced as found.
During our search we also spotted a large green frog hiding deep inside one of the guns many hidey holes. At first we thought it was the cache (fake plastic animals are quite popular as cache camo), but a gentle prod with our TOTT soon revealed he was the real deal, so we left him in peace to continue watching over the cache.
Thanks Chippyroo for this challenging hide.

Find #981
It was about time I came back to this one so after doing a couple in the area I stopped by for another look. This time I found it
Well it was the first tuesday of november so lady luck had to be on my side , dropped the misses at the dentist so had 1 hr to sneak away pick up a few geo's in the area so headed down the road to ANZAC Park an easy location after a bit of a walk, all going good ,(as I rub my hands together in anticipation) ,found the GZ no problem then the my luck ran out "did me dough", started to look in all the places but soon taken over by the need to use the facilities(it was cold) so a duck across the road to Woolies walking up and down in the mall looking after walking past it 3 times finally did the deed only to come out to find the rain pelting down, so it was going to be a wet track but determined to get to the finish line with this hunk of metal I started to methodically work from front to back coming quite intimate with the whole workings of this beast of grand calibur, prodding every spiders butt on the way after an hour with the blur of a race call from the bowling club i was coming to a conclusion that i may have broken down on the last corner unable to find the finish line, the a finillar sound asking "are you looking for a geocache" apparently a brother in arms lives across the road and came to put me back on my saddle , and said its here but kammer had the better today and he couldn't find it in its usual place, a bit more searching and after a bit of a chat (all things HAVOC) , it was back to the misses to become dog meat for overstaying my time , maybe another day will bring the troopers next time
Wedding over and it's time to head towards sunny QLD & home.
Picking up a few more caches along the way.

Having spent the past 9 days caching around Goulburn/ACT/Crookwell it was off to a wedding at Mount Annan.
Wedding done & dusted we hightailed it north for sunnier climes! Raymond Terrace was our stopover for tonight so a few caches were a must before bedtime! LOL ...
We were a bit conscious of using our phone torches as it might attract attention but, no, all good.
This was a nice quick find but how to get it?
I had to rely on Geo-mamma's dexterity as my paws just weren't built for this one!
Signed & replaced as found.
You are EVIL!

Oh yeah first time at the cache 15 minutes thank you to chippyroo for a great hide
This was a hard cache and if someone could tell us where it was because we are at a farm and I can't stay ! Anyways if someone could tell us pls do
We came to this cache as soon as we arrived in Raymond Terrace, and as we started to search a fellow geocacher stuck his head over the fence and wished us luck, it had taken him 5 visits! After a while we decided to return later with fewer onlookers, which we did close to dark. I rechecked a few more likely places but reached quite a bit further and finally felt the little blighter. It was very hard to get to and a lot of cachers would not be able to get it where it was. Thanks to Chippyroo for a great hide, I just wish I could do one of these caches without belting my head on the barrell!

Logging very late from our road trip north. At this one, we found a nano log roll, completely filled with names, at the gun. We looked it over, spotted the Drovers' name at one end and figured something had happened to the container. We replaced the log scroll carefully at the end of the gun.
Thanks

I normally avoid caches on guns, but Canary wanted to give it a go, so we took a look. Canary did most of the looking. I did very little. It was Toriaz who found the log scroll on the ground. There was no sign of the nano container. I don't know what's happened here. But given that the only requirement to log a find is to sign the log, we signed the log and then looked for a place easy to identify. At the front of the gun there is a hole at the bottom where you might run a cable or hook through if you wanted to tow it. We put the log scroll in there, hoping it would be okay and it could be easily found by the CO. Sorry we couldn't do any better. We had no spare containers with us and had no idea where the cache was actually meant to be.
The second cache of the return journey from a weekend away with Toriaz and bikerbuddy.
After lying and searching everywhere I could thinking of, Toriaz found the log scroll, with other signatures, including the last finders, on the ground, with no container.
We replaced it at the front of the gun.

Woohoo! First go! I'd like to say we found it quickly but no... I reckon a good twenty minutes. Fortunately I revisited a spot that had been checked by another person... Mrs Garbageman... Oops! We got there in the end though.. Yay! Kids loved climbing all over it. TNLN TFTC chippyroo and mrs chippyroo!
Headed over to Raymond Terrace to do some shopping, and picked up a few caches.
In luck with this one today, found it in the second place we looked.
Many thanks for placing this cache, Chippyroo, for us and others to find.

This one took hubby and i ages to find. I knew exactly what I was looking for. But there were so many possibilities! The sun was in my eyes too as I peered into likely hidey holes. Hubby had given up and was calling me when I spied it.
The family had a trip planned to Gloucester to do some camping. I decided this was a great opportunity to grab some geocaches so I decided to join them in the hope of cleaning out Gloucester and finding some geocaches along the way also.
This one was a bit of a detour but with a few geocaches around Raymond Terrace on offer I couldn't resist. I drove up to GZ and then realised where I was straight away. As a lawn bowler myself I have heard of this place due to its covered greens. I haven't had the opportunity to play here yet but hope to at some stage. I also very quickly worked out why this cache has the name it does!
Knowing that this type of cache can be very difficult I made my way to the GZ hoping for a quick find. I tried to stay positive and realised that this was a much smaller item to be searching than the local type that I have done and which took me over half an hour.. After a methodical search of the item I put my hand on the cache in under 5 minutes.
Thankful to have found the cache so quickly I scribbled my shortened name "WTF" onto the log and placed it back into position. I have to admit to walking away from this one with a smile on my face knowing that I was lucky to have gotten away from there so quickly.
TFTC cheers

This one didn't take as long as we thought it might which was good as it was quite a hot day and the metal and tyres of GZ were all very hot too. TFTC.
Found with Orrsome on our way to Tilligerry for a clear out session. We had looked here years ago and I had looked more recently as well. There were already people playing bowls, at least I was not in my bright orange high vis shirt like last time I was here, but I still felt out of place and never a good time to look. We searched for quite a while (I was ready to give up before we got there) and orrsome was getting ready to give up when I searched an area he had already searched and finally found it. I would say the terrain rating is pretty right. I am so very very glad to have finally found this (now for the gun nano at mayfield).
Thanks for the challenge and especially the find!
Thanks for the challenge and especially the find!
i attempted the first incarnation of this back in 2011 when i had only just started geocaching. no luck then. i had it on my radar for a while and TOMBI was keen to find it after he had tried it a few times. so we stopped by here today on our way out to Lemon Tree Passage and the Tilligery peninsula. We searched a few locations and were about to give up when TOMBI approached the area from a different direction and manged to find it where i had previously searched, Hooray finally found. TFTC
Unfortunately did not find after talking to a local who saw me snooping around the gun, he informed me that this is a well known drug-drop and police are here every few days cleaning out any drug paraphernalia. Hopefully the cache is still there!
Will be back for another look soon.
Will be back for another look soon.
Sadly we join the legion of those stumped by this one. We'll be back in the area next weekend so might have another look. Oh for a hint!
After the second search with My Photo (the lucky finder) and Grannysmith1947 the persistence has paid off! Signed log T4TC!
Search high, search low, remember long arms will go. With Tmckenzies91 and granny mugger, Granny Smith1946
YES YES out and about with Tmckenzie91 myphoto who found it I have been here 3 times no luck bring a newbe and he finds it Also mugger sister who helps me TFTC
No luck today, will try again later in the weekend, I'm determined to find this bad boy
Tried a few days ago, and twice again today (i WILL find it eventually) got super stoaked for a second but it turned out to be an old snail shell... would've stayed longer but the bowlers were about so decided to call quits until another day
Thought I would have a look when passing by, but in my high vis work clothes I felt the bowlers could see me too easily.
Spent a while looking over this one but could not find. Previous logs indicate that it could be quite tricky. I think the bowlers thought we were gun enthusiasts. Hopefully better luck next time.
Too hot in sun!

Not Found no cache there im looking for around no cache there I think the club see people ready found then someone think what is that they go walk and took it something
After hearing that this was a hard one to find, i knew i was up for a challenge. I got there and narrowed it down to three places. It was a hard one but finally got it.
