Overnight visit to Mt Hotham working with the old man. Family came along for the ride. Actually, our first time up here - drive up - is nothing short of amazing.Homebound now, grabbed a couple along the way. Parked close to this one and walked in. Of course, someone was heading towards me walking their dog. I waited till they passed and then made the quick find.TFTC!
We were up from Melbourne to enjoy a much needed break from the busy lives we live and to spend some quality family time. Today trouble and co headed out for a family bike ride from myrtleford towards gapstead. Little Mr trouble was rather tired after having ridden to bright the day before hand. The rides purpose was to collect as many caches as possible along the way.
Day 2 of the B2B walk. If you haven't heard of it, I would suggest you get on google. It's a wonderful event which I can say I am very proud to have been a participant and I'll definitely be back.
This 3 day event takes you from Beechworth to Bright in 3 days.
Geocaching was just a very tiny part of the fun. From meeting new people to hearing amazing stories, from amazing scenery to seeing wildlife (which I didn't see), it was a weekend that will remain with me forever.
By the end of the day I think I was known as the lady who keeps going into the bush (nature calls). My daughter at first was a little embarrassed but then thought it was a good laugh. It did spark up a conversation and it was a great opportunity for others to learn about geocaching
I walked past many caches and I could feel my fingers twitching but I knew I would return another time to grab some more.
TFTC I will be back soon

While walking from Everton to Myrtleford (Day 2 of the B2B, Beechworth to Bright Walk for Suicide Awareness #walktalksupport) I took the opportunity to grab a few caches along the way without raising too much attention with the other walkers #fail. It ended up being a good opportunity to explain geocaching to a lot of curious people. I'm sure we'll gain some new cachers from it. Nice hide, fantastic series. TFTC
Completed previously as BlackOpal2005. My daughter I thought it was time to create our own accounts.
Thought we would go over to Myrtleford for a night out and have some dinner. We thought we do some Caches on the way home
After leaving home a little later than we had planned, we finally arrived in Wangaratta and checked into our accommodation with Rapidlywild. Nice cabin that was a little toasty but we soon cooled that down with the air-conditioner while we unloaded the cars.
We then set off to do one of the trails that we had planned to attack also collecting others along our journey.
Nice trail and bike ride to fill in the afternoon and into the early evening. All caches were found although in various condition or otherwise noted.
Thanks for hiding and maintaining BettyBoo3747

After travelling down from Canberra, FurfacesLL ladies and myself did our check in duties and then decided to head down to this smallish rail trail with the bikes to try get some finds up our sleeves. Grabbed a couple roadside ones along the way and then made our way to the most furtherest one to begin the ride. Was an enjoyable ride with some lovely scenic views along the way.
Thanks for placing and mainaining this cache for us all to enjoy BettyBoo3747

Views were pretty good this afternoon - lots of clouds on the mountains so hoping they got some snow dumps. TFTC
A few days away with Shumba7 working on BettyBoo’s A - Z around Myrtleford. We have had a great time seeing some of the sights the area has to offer. Even though I have been here many times, this series has me seeing parts that I never knew existed. TFTC although I’m beginning to think BettyBoo is a nasty lady with fresh breath.
Today was day four of our Beechworth holiday (take two, post the very disappointing escape from Victoria Covid of 2020).
We drove down to Bowmans station and rode over the Taylors Gap hill to Myrtleford where we had lunch, and grabbed some caches on our way back. On sunset we went for a stroll around Beechworth to pick up Randolph's Church Multi, and grabbed an Echo cache while we were out.
This was the second cache for the day, and with the trail pointing upwards it was a good excuse to stop and admire the view - although today, there was a lot of smoke coming up over the mountain which can't be good.
Thanks for the cache BettyBoo3747.

Stunning weather and a really nice area to explore.
We rode this section of the trail and enjoyed it.

Called past and replaced the broken container. New container and log sheet now in place.
Cache is broken and log sodden so disabling until I can fix it, hopefully next week.
A quick and easy find with Matho64.
Gorgeous view of My Buffalo.
Cache container was damaged because it was so brittle. Needs replacing.

Enjoyed a day caching with Mrs Clazza, walking the rail trail and collecting caches along the way.
We parked on the main rd and wondered over to locate this cache. Plenty of rabbit burrows around. Cache found, log signed , enjoyed the view and on our way for lunch

Find Number 1958 found at 11:39. This was the 2nd find of 5 finds and 0 DNF's today
A mothers' day trip to Myrtleford for lunch, sightseeing and a few caches.
It was fairly obvious where the container might be hidden, but I couldn't see a T1.5 route there, so I scrambled my way up and found the container.
The cache was in good condition. We signed the log (sometimes we sign micro logs with G&T or GT) and replaced the container as found

Last day of my "school" holidays before going back to work - so why not spend it caching in the gorgeous autumn weather in the northe east of Victoria. Despite seeing lots of PV vehicles, the fires seem to have finished and once the breeze dropped it was a glorious day. Highlight birdwise was the Flame and Scarlet Robins that have started descending from the High Country and a Jacky Winter near Markwood was I think a first for me in the north east. My main goal today was to finish the last three in the Hoop Stars Series - I knew all three were back in play and so would get that big ball finished. After that I wasn't certain whether I would head to Milawa or Myrtleford (in the end it was the latter) and turned out to be another Betty Boo3747 and Harrowang day (plus a new D/T combo - woohoo). In the end got 30 finds and 2 DNF (right at the end when I ran out of time) but also cleaned up quite a few that I had looked for previously but not logged. Plus a couple of nice multis, so in the end a very good day.
Kept strolling down the trail but read the hint and jumped the bank about 50 metres out - interesting water feature nearby. Quick find in the obvious place - the walk to these ones probably cost me a few caches in the end, but the pleasantness of walking on a good track in the bush always makes up for the lost numbers.

Burning hot today. 40 degrees C while looking for caches. lucky it was a quick find
I only had one cache to find between now and New Year's Eve to better my total for last year, and three to bring me up to 3100. A few between Myrtleford and Gapstead were our target today.
After parking the geomobile close by, we entered the railtrail to attack this cache. Mr Do got to the right height to find this cache. Thanks BettyBoo and happy new year.

A little bit of extra effort by Mr Ozjeeper paid off and gave him the bonus of a Find as well as the views of the mountains in the distance.
Next one while doing the Murray to Mountains rail trail. A quick find took a photo and then found my way back down on the trail from the cache TFTC
Mr Riddell thought that the 8 inch lizard sitting on top of the cache was camo until it moved.
Gave him an interesting reaction.

TFTC. While we were out in Myrtleford we thought that we may as well attempt a couple on the rail trail. Managed to find a parking spot not too far away and walked up the trail for a quick find. The day was starting to warm up so a quick admiration if the view and back to the air con.
Woo hoo first find thanks for those who planted it. No pen (my ameuteur start) but nice to learn how things are done.
Driving to Myrtleford this morning for a sports meeting and I was a bit early so I decided to see what caches were around. This one popped up as the nearest and I just had to stop. I love Mt Buffalo views!
Nice quick find at GZ and I was back on my way.

Parked off the road and went for a little bush walk. Found in the likely spot with Indianagleeson and shellumbus. Tftc.
Lazy day so thought we would spend it with the geomates! Tftc with indianagleeson red leader & fox 2
It was such a beautiful day I loaded up the new E-bike and drove to Taylor's Gap - did a cache maintenance from here to Myrtleford and back.
Hadn't checked this one in a long time and was sure the log would need replacing. However, thanks to Harrowang in April last year all is good with the cache. Did drop in a pencil today though.

another short stroll after parking the geomobile nearby. easy to find. an Artamus minor was spotted flitting overhead. tftc bettyboo3747.
Out doing a maintenance run on a couple of BettyBoo's caches while she is travelling further west. Replaced the damp, damaged and very full log sheet. All good to go again. The bunnies have sure been busy around here!
17th find whilst cycling from Beechworth to Myrtleford. My thanks to the cache owners for the great caches along the trail.
As my parents sped by on the trail I found the cache and admired the magnificent views the cache is in need of some TLC as the log book is wet and mouldy. TFTC!

Found at 11:12 AM GAFF1 in the company of xambo4u. An interesting looking foot hole to get up on the embankment. Thought it was a snake hole at first!
Thanks BettyBoo3747.

11:12am Out and about with pprass on the bike trail warming up for the power trail tomorrow. Great day, blue sky and this part for the trail is flat or down, the only way to do it. Needed to make a slight embankment climb to retrieve this one. Forgot to take in the views as we kept our eye out for any ground traps. No easy find.
Thanks BettyBoo3747.
Thanks BettyBoo3747.
This one certainly lived up to its name today on such a glorious morning. The rabbit holes made for a good 'ladder' and I soon had the stash in hand at 10:50 and was on my way.
TNLNSL, although our BYO pen geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks BettyBoo3747.

I remember this one, even without the gps (dead). Hot morning and looking out to the view...
Day three of our five day stint in Everton with Alansee and The Drovers trying our luck on some of the power and Rail trails in the area. Yay, more down hill bits.
We have had some fantastic views of Mt Buffalo this trip, not only from this side but also the southern side from the High Voltage series.
Once again the nicely hidden cache was found quickly and our names have been added to the log.
To save time and not take up room on the logs we signed as ACDC
Alansee AC The Drovers Team Crackers. (Mainly because it sounded good. )
Many thanks once more BettyBoo3747 for this series.

Up this way to catch up with one of my cousins and chip away at a few caches in the area,
armed with loaded our GPS’s and enthusiasm we split the time between the two.
The caching proved interesting and varied with the types of hides found, Manny thanks to

Slink1 had some family business up up this way so it was an opportunity to pick up some caches at the same time. GPS's loaded and filled with caches we havn't found we set off to make the trip worthwhile. Thats the best thing about geocaching - there is always some you haven't found. We had a great time and Slink1 did what he had to do too. Thanks to BettyBoo3747. TNLN SL
Probably not the best view we have had of Mt Buffalo this weekend, but we have had some pretty spectacular views of it. Still a great spot though and well worth the stop.

#750 Hit the rail trail today on the geobikes and rode from Mytleford to the edge of Beechworth and back to Everton, all up 51.5kms and of course grabbed a couple of caches along the way.
4 of 37 caches signed today. A great angle to view Mt Buffalo from, albeit a little hazy this morning. Good news is the fog is disappearing.
