A quick check on this cache as we drove past at 10.04am. Nice to find the area has been cleaned up a bit and that most of the broken branches and limbs have been removed or mulched. Found the cache safely in place. A few TBs visited with us.
Heading towards Rutherglen to take advantage of the B&B accommodation we won at the Mega back in Easter last year, we collected a few caches along the way.Checked a few obvious places before spotting the cache. Thanks Harrowang for the placement.
After an event in Rutherglen, we decided to make the most of the nice weather and head over to Wang to collect a few a few more kid friendly caches in town. Wang now has the majority of our unfound caches closest to home. Middle geokid found this one, I was too busy checking out the tree. Crazy how this happens, certainly a strong fence post! TFTC!
Just checking this one after a DNF today. On our way back from Rutherglen. Cache in place and in good condition. Still room in the log book for more visitors.
Couldn't find this one today, not sure if the mint tin has gone missing since I searched pretty thoroughly at and around gz. Hope it survived the mega.
Found with the JAMS (JJ52, allister w, mogni, sir_spectre). We ventured over to the Mega from SA and found lots and lots of caches and manged to qualify for many challenges
Thanks
Thanks
The JAMS (JJ52, allister w, mogni and sir_spectre) go mega... We came, we cached, we laughed, we hugged and we had a great time. All caches were replaced better than found.
Thanks to Harrowang from mogni

Found with JAMS (( JJ52, Allister w, Mogni, plus sir_spectre ) Mitchell&hound wasn't with us this trip) crew. All logs stamped as JAMS to save log space. This trip we are off to the Rutherglen Mega and then slowly coming back to S.A. for a total of 8 dys and 7 nights. The targets of this trip are for JJ52 to get 11 more multi to get to 1000 multi's and a few more Victorian LGA's, Allister W was targeting 17 virtuals ( or as many as he could get ) a few more Victorian LGA's Mogni to make the Rutherglen Mega her 20, 000 find and also for her to complete all Victoria LGA's, sir_spectre needs 1 more multi to get to 1000 multi's and get his Victoria LGS's down to 2 LGA's left. We got 20 or more finds in a LGA if we stayed in there over night. We also detoured to stamp any challenge caches that we were " in the general area off " and to complete that challenge before we came back to S.A. This meant that some times dirt road (s) had to be walked down because they were to wet to drive down and/or haven't been repaired since last years flooding. We started off the holiday in the rain and then that cleared up only to start raining and a overnight thunder storm but most of the trip was dry. Over 600 caches found for the trip including over 120 lab stages in that total. Got to complete the GPS Maze at the Rutherglen Mega for a 2nd time. Allister w was the team driver for all of the Victorian part of the trip. I think this was the first trip ever to Victoria that the extension pole didn't get used but the 6.2 meter ladder did get a work out.
The JAMS team (JJ52 allister w, mogni and sir_spectre) were on a road trip heading to the Rutherglen Mega event (staying in Corowa) for 3 days then winding our way home via Albury, Wangaratta, Bendigo and various other places in between. It was a great week with many more caches found than we expected. There were targeted caches, challenge caches, Ad Labs, events and various others to fulfill various statistics for the four of us. We were lucky with the weather, it rained a bit on our way over on Friday, then half a day after we left Wangaratta but on the whole it was great caching weather. We did drive a few slippery muddy roads, but nothing too bad. We also caught up with lots of people either at events or out in the field and enjoyed many great chats. All in all a fun time with lots of Victoria explored and then very tired when I arrived home. [^]
We are now caching around Wangaratta finding caches to meet the A-Z challenge along with a few others.
Thanks for the cache Harrowang.

Out with Barb2e Kittykatch and Joolay to collect some caches that we didn't have time for during the mega. It's not as hot today, but muggy and drizzling.
Watch out for the dead and brown blackberries grabbing your calves.

A mega jaunt with endeavour3 saw us caching this cache and writing in the log, then we moved on. A lovely place to explore. Today was an amazing day - what with the rare GPS Maze I scored 14 cache types in a single day!
Thanks to Harrowang and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet! [^]

Last day of our caching trip before having to head home for work tomorrow.
Tankengine, Youban and I have enjoyed our time in Wangaratta and surrounding areas finding caches, attending all the events, playing with the gadget caches and catching up with friends.
It was a spectacular time and we commend the committee and volunteers for all their hard work setting up and running the Mega Event.
This cache: A quick find at this one and onto the next. Tftc!!!

Found with Kellmik & Beaker while out chasing a night cache, we decided to stop at every cache we came along the way and this was one of those.
Wasn't were we expected it to be but found eventually, I'm guessing it would be easier in daylight.
Thanks Harrowang

Find #82 on our Mega trip. Found after a short search in a sneaky spot. We had read the cache page and stayed away from the tree - it is definitely not there. After searching many of the fallen logs we moved on to searching elsewhere and I soon came out came up trumps with the cache. It is well camouflaged and very cleverly hidden.
Thanks for the fun.
Thanks for the fun.
This was a great cache involving teamwork. I had a very sore foot from rolling my ankle earlier in the day, so helped from the roadside. Saw that it had been moved away from the tree and communicated this. Within minutes Cathylm soon yelled got it. Thanks for the fun
*Found on the 15 Jan 2022 @ 9:46 am.*
*Cache find # 12357.*
The challenge was on to could get 14 different cache types in a day as 15 was out of the question so I headed out with buhfuhguh to see how we could go.
We already had this cache type for today but seeing that we were passing by, we stopped for a look.
The cache was found and we were on our way.

Headed south with my caching mates, steeba, Hoojar and Wilbert to attend the on, off, on again COVID restricted Wangaratta Mega event...... credit to the organisers for persisting.
With us having limited time in the area, we tried to pack as much as we could into each day. From Glenrowan, to Beechworth, to Mrytleford, to Warby Ovens NP, to the streets of Wangaratta, we seemed to be on the go all the time. While the weather was too hot for caching at times we often found relief by cooling off in the river.
We found so many different types of caches, its a credit to all the CO's for providing the caches for everyone to find, whether they were new or old placements, we had a great time in Wang.
It was mega Saturday and this cache was part of my 12 types in a day

With the Mega event being held in Wangaratta, The Rats, Hoojar, Wilbert67 and I headed south for the main event but also plenty of other local hides.
We tackled trails around Glenrowan on Friday, together with Beechworth and the HSS Series before spending time around Wangaratta on the Saturday. TFTC!

The lure of a couple of extra icons (Maze and Locationless) meant that I was more keen than normal to attend a Mega Event. Covid issues asside, a plan was hatched, rehatched, changed and finalised to attend for a few days in Victoria with Steeba, Wilbert67 and The Rats. Another trip away like countless others that we have done before, and yet totally different, thanks to Covid.
The caches were excellent. The company, as always, fantastic. We find more than our fair share of Adventure Labs, as well as complting a few series. I think we walked away with 300 finds, not a bad haul. The laughs were endless, but that is to be expected on trips away like this.
Thanks so much to all of the cache hiders, and especially to the event organisers. I cannot imagine the hoops that you had to keep jumping through to get this off the ground. A special thank you for bringing the Maze Down Under!
Please forgive the boiler-plate log, I assure you it is no reflection on the caching experience of our few days away. Again thank you to all cache owners for their hides.
Cheers

Found whilst in town for the Wangaratta mega. Nice and quiet along this road which meant for an easy park and a.....reasonably quick grab. Took a few minutes to spot, a very sneaky hiding spot! TFTC Harrowang!
In Wangaratta for the Mega, we traveled over early so we could get some local caching in. After stowing the shop in a storage shed so it wasn't bouncing around in the back of the car we set up in the caravan park and can now cache and explore. Today we headed out early to beat the heat but also we were on a timeframe! A quick find here. TFTC
A maintenance run before the Mega. There are fallen limbs and long grass to negotiate before you get to GZ, so take care. The cache and contents are in good condition, and this grand old tree is still alive, despite losing a limb or two over recent years.
Didn't find it. Had a bit of a look but grass was long and didn't want to find a snake.
Scared off the muggle cows as I came closer to the tree. Had a good look around and found it. Last one for the day and headed home. Great day's outing and caching. TFTC
This is an amazing tree. To have incorporated the fence and just kept growing. Nature is truly awesome. Oh yes, the cache. It took us longer than it should have but find it we did. Thanks for bringing us here.
Back in the car and out this way again. Simply had to stop to collect another one. Interesting facts provided.
Thanks Harrowang

Day 2 of our caching adventures with becknMonts, Micaparamedic and Earthbound Chief focusing on the Wangaratta area.
This is one of the earliest environmental sites we have visited. What a great idea the North East Water had and congratulations to them for following it through.
We agree with the cache page, if only this tree could talk but as it can't we just admired it standing there stately before we got around to looking for the cache.
To save room in the log we signed as BECM

"Please take care not to damage the tree or its bark in any way."
You have to be kidding! The wire fence has gone right through that tree and it has survived! We couldn't believe it!
Didn't see anywhere around here where the recycled water is being stored or used. Is it underground?
Thanks Harrowang.

A quick and easy find with Matho64. It was a lovely big eucalyptus tree that looked like the barbed wire fence has grown through.

A short maintenance run on a cool and windy evening in November. We eventually found the container in good condition and with room left on the log sheet. We did put the log sheet in a zip lock bag though. A large limb has come down from the beautiful old tree so take care when accessing the cache. Due to the significant damage done to the bark of this old giant, we have moved the container a short distance away. Please replace the container exactly where and how you found it to prolong the life of the hide.
Dan cycled to this after we had cycled part of the rail trail. Nicely hidden in a sheltered spot. TFTC
SO I originally wrote something like FLTF of Found FLTF which of course means Full Log to Follow. I was full of good intentions but sadly life illness, children, work and all the rest of it took over and I didn't get back to write a decent log. So here I am apologising, SORRY! Thank you though for supplying us with a cache to 'find' or 'do' it's much appreciated.
Sorry for the crappy log hopefully the next time our paths cross I'll have more time on my hands and I'll be writing better ones!

Had started on the"Mystery in the Museum" series while I was on the NSW North Coast and I was keen to try and finish today with a souvenir. I needed two jewels to start with and then he 35 caches to finish the series. I thought the rail trail around Wangaratta (and then in town) would get me the numbers I needed. And so it proved to be the case but I had to stop at Chiltern on the way home - I got away later than I hoped (had family tasks to do before heading off) and had more DNFs than I would have liked (some I logged - a few I was a bit rushed so was probably my cache blindness so didn't bother with these). I also ended up with 6 Multis (just) and that is half of another BB3747 challenge done (might try at Corowa for the other day). It was a beautiful day in the North East - the predicted strong winds did not eventuate - and the geohound and I enjoyed our wandering in this pleasant (and now green) part of the world.
That is a serious tree - wonder how many once were surrounding it. As I jumped out of the car there were not many obvious hiding spots and so I thought this one would be quick. Looked a bit and widened my search area and it wasn't until I read a previous log that I returned and found the cache hidden in its hidey hole. Why was that so difficult? Log signed and on to the next cache.

A few of the big trees around here have actually grown around fence wires, and in one case an old gate! I should have taken a photo of that one! Close to GZ was one of these big trees with wires well and truly embedded into the tree! See photo. The cache was in good condition, holding up to the wet weather.
We have spent quite some time working on Aboriginal Communities and the locals take their 2WD cars places that a lot of us would never take our 4WD's, so a little bit of dirt road will not hurt us.
It was great to read the story about the water recycling, a lot more councils should attempt this we feel. SL TFTC

a simple park and grab , took about 30 seconds , on our way to Parkville for the mega , thanx for the cache
Recently we have been camping in an area where there is no phone reception, so today is catch up on logging day. Each cache we have found over the last few days had our name noted on the log and each was replaced as it had been found. Our apologies for the mostly generic log, but sometimes specific comments have been added.
