Over visiting from NZ and using the time to do as much caching as other commitments allow. The wet weather over the last few days had dampened things down nicely and made for pleasant walking conditions today. I was surprised at the number of MTB'ers seen today, being as it was a Friday. .. According to Strava, I did 9.2km walking today with an elevation gain of 308m with 100% finds, so was pleased with that.A nice quick find here at the start before the next group of bikers arrived from their parking across the road. Came down to Brisbane today to chase a few older caches that have been on the to-do list for a while. This area was next on the list so a grabbed my water and headed up the steep hill. There were muggles nearby when I started the walk so had to grab this one as I headed out. Thanks jumbucksFind #6134

An enjoyable morning walk of 8km finding 15 caches and one DNF, with my non-Premium friend sausage3.We arrived just before 8am and the parking area was very busy with cyclists but got one of the last spots. Crossed the road and quickly found the cache. Logbook signed and replaced. All good here. Tftc

6/7/2023 Find #6254
With only a couple of days left of the holidays, I took off for the afternoon keen to get a few caches, one particular one being in this area of bush.
Last time I came here I opted to park in a different location - by the Billiau Road Fire Track - and dealt with its relentless up. Today I opted for a different approach, and parked over near the quarry to begin a much more sensible and enjoyable hike.
Of course that meant I would be passing another cache or two along the way, this at the very start being the first.
Crossing the road I headed up to the start, sat down and made my find quickly, signing and replacing before any of the MTB folks made their way past in either direction.
Thanks for the cache jumbucks.

This morning, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I planned to take baby Warren on a walk up to Mount Cotton. We took the direct main route up to the summit, and then proceeded to take a loop around the area via the *What Goes Up Must Come Down* (WGUMCD) series. To replenish our energy, we then detoured past Capalaba for a lunch, before proceeding home.
In the late afternoon, it was an errand at Clontarf that allowed me to drive north and visit a few more of the *Witch's Hat* series.

We set out on this walk departing from the trailhead at 09:20 hr, and we walked a total distance of 6.9 km across an elevation of 232 m, with a moving time of 1:40 hr. Despite that, we ended up getting back to our cars just after 12:00 hr, as per my [Strava record](https://www.strava.com/activities/7443275065). A few nice looking mountain biking trails that I'd love to come back to. It must have been a long walk for baby Warren as she took a short nap during the last kilometre.

We made this find at the start of our walk, and we did have a small amount of trouble locating this cache, as GZ had us in the middle of the track. Subsequently, we searched one side before [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) made the find on the other side of the track. My coordinates of the cache were 5-7 m away from the posted coordinates at S 27° 36.544' E 153° 12.332'. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks jumbucks for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

Today was a practice walk for my son. Who has a 18km walk to do in May. He needs a little bit exercise for his challenge. It work out to be 5km walk over 3 hours. Of course half that time was find caches. Few took little bit longer than they should.
This trip we found 6, the breakdown was 4 traditional, mystery and a letterbox. Lots of fun and pain was found.

Today was the first ruzzelz ride event for 2022. With a hard core ride planned for today only two victims came along for the torture test. TaxisVW and DrPam had serious mechanical issues before the ride started ( air in tyres is essential as are sound tubes), stealth seeker was ready to role and so it was that we took on the challenge of clearing out most ( but not all of the caches in this area.

I have ridden these trails several times before. However my usual MTB friends are not geocachers so stopping to cache has not been an option.

Thanks to the various cachers for placing caches along the trails. Cool

The first cache on the walk but the last one to be found due to mountain biking muggles. That was one steep climb followed by one steep descent. In the end I had to do a skiing type side to side approach to stop slipping on tiny rocks. Thanks for showing us this forest. No idea it existed!

Thank you, jumbucks, for placing this cache for our enjoyment.

29-May-21
We had a few target caches today after the CITO. After a comfort stop it was off to a familiar area but an area I needed to revisit.

The discussion was where to park so off we headed. On arrival it was surprising to see so many cars parked at the entrance. Mountain bikes were every where. To our surprise the area has been converted to suit MBs. Our tracks had not been changed and were just as steep as i remember from my last trip.

Our first cache. After we realised it was not in the same place we found before. But still a nice quick find.

29-May-21
After attending the CITO event at Wellington Point, I joined a group of geofriends who were wanting to find a few targeted caches in this area.
Parking was at a premium today with many bike riders taking advantage of the sunshine and upgraded tracks to ride. We had to be wary of them as they zoomed by without a ringing a bell to warn us of their presences (do the new bikes have bells, I wonder?)

This was a quick find before the hard work began.

17-May-21
On a Monday off, I was keen to finally ascend this one and see what this area was all about.
I drove here from the North and couldn’t see any parking as I arrived so quickly pulled over on the rough surface just before the big dip. (As it turns out, most people go around the roundabout and park on the far side of the road.)
After getting my gear together, I intended to make this my first find, but suddenly 2 mountain bikers appeared and I decided to walk up first and get this one on my way back.
Having done my up and down, I started looking and was regularly interrupted by after-work bikers coming and going, but I made the find without trouble. I think the pencil is just slightly too large for the container but I guess it will whittle down.
TFTC where all is fine.

After doing a walking loop starting from Mt Cotton I jumped into my car to grab this one. Cache was in plain sight as I approached. Hid and place some natural camo in front of it.

13-Feb-21
Many moons ago my son and I went up Mt Cotton and walked right by this cache, However we were chasing a 25 D/T challenge that day and it was getting late so we had to rush off. Today my wife and I were doing the walking loop and having started at the bottom of the hill were happy to be half way through (and more importantly at the top).

We were keen to sit up on a rock for a muesli bar but first had to make the find. This took a bit of effort before Mrs Woodyrothwell felt where it should be and the magnet but like others have said the container and log are long gone. I have never put on a Needs Maintenance so I hope it is easier than filling out your taxes. tftc

13-Feb-21
Unfortunately the cache and log are missing and there is only a magnet left. Time for a bit of love on this one as it could confuse newer cachers

18-Jan-21
Today I met a friend on the south side of town for an early bike ride and once this was done it was too early to go back north. Traffic was terrible. So I decided to explore this beautiful forest for 2 hours and find plenty of caches. All in great conditions. I had a great time!

07-Aug-20
With a day off from work I had planned to grab a few caches and do a nice little walk around Mt. Cotton park lands off Mt. cotton road, then grab a few puzzles caches that I’ve solved on the way back home. Having to continue my trad a day and my cache a day challenges it was going to be a nice day of caching. But some days all good plans don’t seem to end as planned.

During the day the weather changed and I got rained out, plus on one cache I found some partly barb wire to which I got extremely messed up in and fell and subsequently ripped my right leg up on, ending the walk.

This part of the day I parked at a trailhead and started my walk with a cache what at the start. Continuing my walk I grabbed a couple more before getting to a puzzle cache that I had solved by finding one part and getting a further clue from a previous finder. While I ripped my leg open in here my further caches were then halted, so I will have to come back and finish off at a later date.

Of the caches I found all were in good order, thank you for placing them here and I look forward to walking this area again.
