Coming back from teaching in Gisborne so of course theres a bit of caching on the road trip back. Been meaning to stop at this one for a bit so this avo was it. With the new roaring and defending, this cache is in a paddock but its still there. Log is a bit damp - maybe next finder could replace with a dry one? Mihi ki a koe, skindo, mo te keteroki #386
It's too wet and awkward to get to this cache today. I'm not sure why this area is fenced off either, so maybe if I'm back in summer, I might try again.
Found this the other day with eimajesordaman and forgot to log. Nice and easy. Log signed as TRNZ.
Another classic Skindo hide, but takes you to a place of interest. A little harder to get to than when he originally placed it I'm sure, but a good placement none the less. Waterproof paper log pretty wet and a little hard to sign, other than that, cache in good condition. TFTC.
The first part of the adventure was to work out how to get to us... After that, it was a quick find! TFTC!!
Had hoped to have a go at this one today, but giving it a miss since the hall is used for SDA church on Saturday mornings. We'll be back!
The last time I was here the cache was missing so glad it was a quick find this time.

On a wet, cold and windy day with Opioffi exploring this area thru geocaching. Why didn't we put on our gumboots which were taken along for forays into places such as this???TFTC .
Road trip for Team BOP over the long weekend.
After completing the Vikings Series yesterday, we decided we needed less quantity, more quality caches today and a more relaxing schedule.
Our accommodation is in Woodville, so made sense to clear this town of caches also.
The road has changed around this hall, but cache remains undisturbed.

Down here with part of team BOP and staying at Woodville. Day one was the Vikings and so today was to be a lot quieter and easier driving with looking for favourites and adlabs Thanks to all the CO s TFTC
Matariki weekend and a team of us from BOP have ventured south for a caching weekend. The team consists of TNXPro, NZFlossy, McJandals and DavidsonClan. Logs signed as Team BOP.
Weather cold wet and windy but that won’t stop us on our mission.
Ngā mihi for the cache hides.

Another day in the wairarapa/manawatu. Great to get some more smiles for the challenge streak.
I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these caches. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

Heading to Woodville and we stopped in the side road to go after this one. Because there were people gathering at the hall I wandered back the main road and along it a little way. Then had to go up a rise and over a fence to get to the cache. As others have said, it does seem to be in the middle of a paddock and maybe not public land! Fortunately it was a quick find. I then completed my circuit by going through the two gates and back to the car. #6335. TFTC.
Easter weekend, and with the paradox that only family can create, I both need to be in Wanganui and not in Wanganui at the same time. Today I spent the morning with family and then was able to free up the afternoon, so once again it was off a-geocaching I did go. Quite a few DNFs today, but still managed to sign 51 logs today.
Cache was found without any trouble.
Thanks to the CO for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with CO's like this placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.
[DGSc-Bulk] tagging to help me generate a list for GC30AD8 - DGSc Challenge.
On the way home after spending the weekend in Woodville chasing the Stickman series with Itchyfeet2020 and TrinityNZ. Decided to pick up a few 'park and grabs' along the way to make the drive more interesting. This one a little further than we expected into the paddock. Circumventing some obstacales along the way. TFTC
After a great weekend in Woodville completing the Stickman series TrinityNZ, Justlooking00 and I are heading home in a two car convoy, picking up caches on the way, as you do. This was on the list. On arrival the access to it now feels a little awkward, as you need to go through two gates and sheep are grazing, so felt a little private landish, although there are no signs to say so and it's easy to see what it was like with the hall close by. Log was wet despite being fairly new with lots of room, so we added some waterproof paper in plastic bag. TFTC.
With the excitement of yeserday's Stickman series behind us, JustLookingOO and Itchyfeet2020 and I were heading home today after two nights in Woodville. After meeting for a late breakfast, we decided to follow a quick trail I'd put together and grab some caches on the way back to Wellington.
This was our first cache today and took us further off the road than we expected. We weren't sure if we should be in the paddock, but carried on anyway! Avoiding the dead sheep, we headed to GZ, and IF soon made the find.
Thanks to skindo for the cache

Instead of travelling past I had the time today to have a look for this one. Further 'off the track' than I was expecting but got it no trouble. It's been awhile and somewhat damp but easy to find and sign. TFTC
This time last month, Popmac and I had planned to ascend Wharite Peak to do our best Sir Ed impersonation and "knock the bast4rd off!"
Unfortunately the weather deities had other ideas and not being able to see the Ruahine Ranges or Wharite, let alone the transmitter tower, forced us to head to other gathering grounds instead.
Today was a different story with clear views of the hills and heavens, which gave us a definite spring in our steps. We bid farewell to the EtherMinions (mwahahaha! oops, I mean "Sorry darling") and off we trod towards the turbines. Tally-Ho to the 20/20 caches! (and the archived Skindo's too!)
We've now descended through enough contour lines to be back on the paved roads, and are heading in the general direction of home. Of cause that doesn't mean that we're heading straight home
We passed this location on the way up but decided to accomplish the day's mission first.
Now that we've done that and are on the return trip, we stopped here and found a Seven Day Adventist service in progress at the hall. I snuck over the fence and through the hay field to GZ for a quick find. After returning the container, I noticed that the Service had finished and the car park was filling with the congregation - including someone at the fence who looked to be waiting for me to return...
I Decided to pass on the interaction and carried on in the direction away from Popmac and the car to the far end of the paddock and out to the road. One quick cellphone call later and my chariot came to collect me sans the conversation.
Phew!

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... Easter weekend is upon us. We’ve been looking forward to this holiday - it’s a chance to take a big swipe at the PWGT2 caches. We’re also keen to pick off some interesting hides and avenge one or two previous DNFs...
We had some difficulty approaching this hide. The security fencing seems to close off direct access, but there is always a way around... Thanks skindo and TFTC.

A very early start to today, as Stardust718 and I had joined forces to hit the nearby 20/20 geoart series and any other caches that we would be driving past.
There was a kind of symmetry that we would be visiting all these 20/20 caches on the 20th. As usual, the CO gave us a mix of straightforward and challenging puzzles to solve, most of which I solved within a day or so of the series being published, although keener people than I made the mad dash to grab all the FTF's. But I'm glad I waited as this will allow me to get my personal goal of 50 caches for the month
We had been making excellent time in finding those caches we had attempted so far. But now we would be experiencing the more challenging aspect of today, driving up to a location I have not previously visited. I was very glad of the good driving conditions as I made my way up in my 2wd. Not perfect views for us today once there, but still impressive nonetheless.
But before we did that, I was taking the opportunity to have another look for this one seeing as the container had been replaced since I recorded a DNF just over a year ago. No real problems locating the cache, and no issues with the log which was signed and replaced as found.
Thank you for publishing this cache.

This one nearly got us lost. Following Apple Maps were ended up 80 metres away and across the road.
We soon realised it’s because the road has been changed around. Jumped a couple of fences and made it to GZ which was being guarded by some sheep.
A nice and easy find. Signed log and on our way again.
TFTC skindo!

The fences to climb were more of a challenge than the cache was. Located, signed and replaced and repeated the climb challenge and avoided the sheep poo (hopefully!) TFTC
Well thats novel a fence that does zippo and has its own cache thanks ..found all good here. This cache is very fenced off with locked gates...feels like you are trespassing
This is a bit of a random cache now that everything is fenced off and the road re-aligned. We skirted around, jumped the fence and found the cache. Then kept skirting around and over locked gates to get back to vehicle. Sad to see a community hall all fenced off. Thanks for the cache skindo.
#8379. I had been looking forward to todays geocaching adventure for weeks. I love exploring the back roads of Wairarapa and southern Hawkes Bay and the gravel roads north of Route 52 are certainly in the category of "the road less travelled." I had mapped out a long trail of mainly skindo caches to find starting at Rimu Road and taking us up around Waihi Valley Road, Towai Road and Waitahora Roads. Barefootguru joined me on the quest today and we left Wellington at 7 am and reached Rimu Road at 9.55 am. We got back to Wellington via Dannevirke and Palmerston North at 9.30 pm. The weather on Friday was horrible with rain and hail showers and strong winds. But Saturday dawned clear and sunny and the Tararuas looked magic with a fresh coating of snow all over the tops and snow sprinkled over the upper beech forest, below the tops. Lots lambs in the paddocks, kowhai was starting to flower and there were plenty of birds singing for me to record for the NZ Bird Atlas.
They say there is always time for one more cache. And this proved to be the case today. After stopping to get a feed in Woodville we decided we had time to jump the twin fences here and grab this newly replaced cache. Lucky last for us on this road trip. Needed a torch to reach this one as the sun set an hour ago. BFG made a quick find in the hiding place made famous by s....o Thanks skindo for the huge effort you made to put geocaching onto the map of the Wairarapa. Cheers GSEL

Last joint cache of a long enjoyable skindo run with driver & planner GSEL. We left Wellington at 07:00 and returned 21:30, for (my) total of 37 new skindo finds + 7 others (and now qualify for 250 Finds In September). This was a fitting way to end the skindo run — a lone old fence post with a brace Thanks for the cache & fun day skindo.

I was in the area today and keen to pick up a few more skindo caches. So came over to search here after crossing two fences to reach the GZ. There is a Narnia like fence post remaining at old GZ while the rest of the old fence is gone. I searched all around the post and brace. Sadly no cache was located so it does seem this one is now AWOL.
This area has been majorly restructured & road layout changed.
We did find a hint item & searched around it thoroughly but we too think this is long gone & either needs to be replaced or archived.

This geocacher reported that the cache might be missing. See my log and photos for details.
I was in Palmerston North today in order to attend the GIFF event there this afternoon, and thought I would spend a couple of hours this morning looking for a few caches in an area I don't often get to, the far end of the closed Manawatu Gorge road.
Obviously there has been a lot of upgrade work done recently to the Saddle Road meaning that the whole road itself has been realigned to make the road safer for the increased traffic flow.
That itself is not a problem, but in addition it appears that the old fenceline has been removed in favour of a brand new one located a few metres south of the old one.
I did find a possible cache location in keeping with the Hint, but no cache was found. I suspect the location and the cache to be destroyed, and have attached photos of the current state of GZ.
Unless I am mistaken, a new location will need to be sought for this cache, or else it needs to be archived.

On my way back from Woodville. Not the best place to stop as road very busy. Easy find. TFTC
As I am about to leave Woodville shortly it was time that I find and sign off the closest ones.
I parked around the corner as it was safer to do that.
Cheers for the cache.

Thanks to the Cache Owner who has gone to the trouble of creating this cache, determining the coordinates and then averaging them to make sure they are accurate, placing the cache and registering it online for our enjoyment. Without Cache Owners doing their bit, there wouldn't be a fun hobby that we all love - so again a big THANK YOU. For our bit, all we need to do is find and log the cache that was carefully placed for our personal enjoyment. As we log it we should consider that the Cache Owner also needs to maintain it - when the log sheet fills up, they must replace it. When the container becomes full of water, they need to empty it. When the container is broken, they need to repair it. When it goes missing they need to find or replace it. Well..... the great news is we can do our bit too - make sure your log doesn't take an entire page - just a name and date. If full of water, empty and dry the cache as best as possible. Be careful when handling the cache and make sure you replace it where you found it. If it has a bag, seal it. Just remember - the Cache Owner showed respect to you by placing the cache - please respect them and fellow cachers that follow you by being careful with the cache. And if you have a spare log sheet and the cache you are at needs one, please leave it behind. Finally, if the cache does need maintenance, please let the Cache Owner know - you can log a Maintenance Log or you can drop a line to the Cache Owner. Above all - have fun and remember the Geocaching Code.

Found on a very windy late afternoon on the way to Ashhurst. With the Gorge closed we were surprised that it hadn't been found for 2 months. Miss 3Prettys made a quick find, we hopped into the car to sign the log out of the wind, and then we were off.

I traveled down to Palmerston North for a 3 day geocaching weekend to give my numbers a bit of a boost, as I head towards my next caching milestone. I decided to fly there and back and pick up a cheap rental car for the weekend. The weather was perfect and I had a great weekend down there.
I joined up with yorkshirekiwi83 again today for another day of caching, before our flight out this evening. We started the day picking up a few caches around the city, Bunnythorpe, Ashhurst and the gorge, before taking the Saddle Road back to Ashhurst late in the afternoon. This was a nice quick find along the way. TFTC!

We had fun with caching few weeks here in New Zealand. Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was pretty good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and really scenary country!
