No luck here today and ended up cutting our search short when a family on the other side of the scrub were warning their kids about the 'man over there'!
Thanks.

On the way back out from Brooms head after hitting the beach I decided to stop here on the spur of the moment to grab this cache. Quickly went down to the beach after checking the view from the bridge to have a wee gander then it was time to hit gz.

I knew where I'd most likely search but my angle looking there was off at first. I couldnt find the stash till I looked from a different angle. It took a bit of nimble poking and prodding to extract the cache before I could sign it. At least there were no muggles watching my inelegant maneuvers.

My thanks to Mr_Willmore for hiding a cache here. I doubt I would have stopped here otherwise, and I can see why you like this part of the beach, so Ta for showing the rest of us.
Oh, and thanks for the fun too, needed a good stretch!

With the rising temperature we decided to venture to Brooms Head. This was one of the caches we did enroute. Nicely done. Thankyou Computer Man's for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area Big GrinBig Grin

After attending an event in Ulmarra we ventured out for a drive to Brooms Head. What a nice drive and a beautiful beachside area. After watching our GPS go down in distance we looked around for a likely hide and spotted one but didn't spot the cache at first. It was there but well hidden. After another look we were able to sign the logbook before replacing as found. Cheers and Happy New Year computer mans!

31-Dec-17
After attending a end of 2017 event at Ulmarra we decided to head over to Brooms Head to collect a few caches. After finding GZ we had groups of people wanting to use the beach path all of a sudden! Patiently we pretended to be waiting for others before starting the search once the disappeared. Once found it was a quick sign of the log and placement then on our way. TFTC computer mans.

Loving our time in beautiful Brooms Head Have been desperate for a swim, but there’s currently blue bottle jellyfish in the water . Found cache at 5m off, in a likely place for something this size.

06-Dec-17
Found on a MTB ride from Yamba to Brooms Head and forgot to log it.

17-Oct-17
Cache was found in only place possible but took quite a bit of searching to locate and with spiders webs everywhere who wanted to put their fingers in tiny places.
Gwen from The X-Trailers suggested a spot she couldn't see through and sure enough it was correct spot.
After Mick got a tool from his car I managed to push the little thing clear .
Terrain should be a bit higher for this cache to at least a 2 but we had fun climbing a fence and getting a ladder as we are on the shorter side and Mick's balance not the best,
The Mercs1 watched us do the hunting and giving advice on how to stand and look for the cache.

New where it should be but could not sight it
Gwen from The x-Trailers located it
Liz from Earthlight retrieved it after much persuasion with a tool or two from car

10-Oct-17
Searched the aforementioned upright indicator. Grooves, magnetic and non magnetic including cap, pole an rocks at base. DNF may be gone again.

18-Aug-17
We looked all around the obvious places but couldn't locate it. Some sort of hint would be helpful. Great spot though!

25-Jun-17
We parked on the main road and walked up to GZ where I searched a number of usual places without seeing anything. When I realised it was only a size 1, possibly in the rough scrub, I lost interest and headed off to other caches. Thanks for placing a cache in such a nice area though.

28-May-17
I was camped at Brooms Head for a few days and was able to introduce a few new chums from SEQ Kookaburras to the game. This one took some searching but in the end it was where I'd expected it to be; I just didn't look hard enough the first time.

This cache has quite a history of DNF's. We enjoy an annual family get together here and have looked for this one over the past few years, without success. After looking again and not finding it, arrangements were made to replace it, but after a more thorough search we were rewarded. Cache and log still in good condition. Thanks to previous cachers for replacing this one at such a great place.

16-Apr-17
Looked all over the obvious location for an xs cache at Hz but nothing found.

02-Apr-17
Couldn't locate the cache, suspect the recent rain event may have moved it (washed away) as there were lots of pumice stone at GZ

We knew where this one was meant to be and also that it was missing so we have replaced the container with a new one. Hopefully now this one can go back on line.

27-Sep-16
Fairly sure that GZ has been replaced with a new sign and the old container has gone with it. Can CO please deactivate until they can perform maintenance or archive if not able. Thanks, Grundies

03-Sep-16
After a thorough search with a very good idea of what I was looking for I'm pretty sure this one has gone and needs to be replaced or archived.

07-Apr-16
Back for our annual camping trip. I think the sign may have been replaced so cache is missing again and this time I didn't have any replacements.

On holidays at Brooms Head once again. Weather has been great so far.
Noticing the DNFs, I went for a wander and sure enough, there is no sign of the cache and the surrounding undergrowth is very thick for a micro, so it could be anywhere.
I just happened to have a cache of the appropriate size with me after the Mega recently, and have replaced the cache container, including a new log. Consider it a little gift from Brisbane which I hope lasts a good while.

08-Jan-15
DNF, even with three of us searching.

19-Oct-14
Searched for about half hr. Poked and prodded around sign and in the bush. Very overgrown and didn't want to venture too far

06-Oct-14
Arrived to stay at the van park for a while and wandered up to find this cache. The cache is a bit corroded inside but the log is dry although hard to extract. TFTC

24-Sep-14
We arrived for another wonderful few days at our beloved Brooms Head and this cache was high on the agenda. After our dreadful DNF 18 months ago, this time we found it immediately. I can only think that I got the description mixed up last time, as there are pretty few options around here.
The log is dry and fine, though I think some names may have faded away. TFTC where all is good.

thanks for the log C/M's

I had almost given up finding this one. I had been working in Broom today and thought it would be a great opportunity to grab the 2 remaining.
Started the search on this one at the obvious spot and after about 15min gave up. Completed my work in town and had a quick look for Lookout to nowhere which I dnf'd as the past searchers have also done.
On my way out I thought I'd give this one more go. I had read Herbz log and I tried the same method. Heard a little noise and then had the cache in hand.
All is good

Thanks

09-Jan-14
We weren't sure if this one was here having read previous logs . However, with the use of a handy stick which was poked and prodded into all the nooks, crannies and grooves the cache eventually revealed itself amongst all the cobwebs! All is well with this cache. TFTC.

Did a midnight run on this on during our our new year camp trip down south. With geoblowin & midgets in tow. Took a little bit to find, dunno why co it was where i first suspected it to be. Th bowls club was going off as we searched in the dark for the elusive micro to the sound of the pumping tunes. TFTC. SL.

Thanks Computer mans. Great spot, stopped in here to look at the creek and the bech last Feb before we knew about geocaching. Beautiful place. It helped having my tall geo hubby along. The magnet is starting to lose its umphh so replace with care. Lots of fishing boats using this entrance today but easy spot to pretend to take photos. The nearby cottages for rent look enticing, one could write a famous novel there, surely... tnln ...cause how could you...

23-Jul-13
Found but didn't realise I needed a pen so didn't sign the log. Sad TFTC

19-Jul-13
well i found this one easily enough, had my pen, no chance of getting it open. took it back to the car for another try but no go, took it back to GZ, took a photo I'll send when I get it on the computer as proof, wont post it here as it might give the game away. TFTC at a pretty spot on the coast.

23-May-13
After a short bush walk from where we were camping we arrived at a lovely beach and beautiful sunset. The cache lid was very tight but persuaded it to unscrew in the end. TFTC computer mans.

09-Apr-13
I needed a cache for this calendar date and was so confident about this one that I drove past probably fifty easier caches on the way here from Brisbane. Needless to say, despite having a bunch of kids to help, I couldn't find a thing on either side of the track. After a very decent search, I called it off and went searching for another further afield. I'll have another look before we go, but there has clearly been a stack of water through this area in recent months, so I wonder if it is still here. TFTC anyway.

Great location for a cache. Had to return to car to get some tools to open the thing as lid was not budging. Thanks computer mans and cheers from WA.

09-Dec-12
Arrived at the GZ at the same time as a 4WD pulled up to spend ages reading the beach signage and chatting. At last we were able to use the time to return to our car for a pen (thanks for your comment Groovydoo). When the 4WD moved on we searched awhile and located the cache. Anothr lovely Broom's Head spot. TFTC.

1450 GAFF3 Up this way for a few caches of higher ratings, and to get a FTF along the way. Had already grabbed the Hat Head's Own Devil Island FTF, and had minor hopes that this would be one of them as well. Let some muggles walk on down to the beach, and some others walk up to the road before a look around. Bingo!
And another FTF as well!! BONUS!
Now to try and get another (But it wasn't to be) Sad
Brought thru my trackable shirt - for a couple of extra (hundred) kilometers
