We had spent the last couple of days in Myrtleford. It's always interesting walking around a cemetery. Thanks for the cache.
I wandered up here from town on a whim. It was early in the day and I didn't have anything planned.A tasteful cemetary despite the lack of too much shade. Nice bunya tree though!Interesting the sign at the entrance is in Chinese as well. There's a story.Cache took some time to find as well.. it's autumn and uh yeah. eventually dug it out of about a foot deep. Huzzah! Thanks for highlighting this vc medalist with a geocache.Attached a photo of the latest mosaic unveiled on Anzac day outside the rsl in town.
A hot day but concentrating on multis, which took me to several of the magnificent, fun and quirky mosaics around town. With so many of them and so many of the multis using them in one way or another it resulted in quite a bit of confusion one way and another. Luckily this was a simple straightforward multi devoid of mosaics. A beautiful grave, simple choices and a tricky find even at the right place What brave men fought for our freedom Thanks for highlighting this exceptional man A FP here too
Stayed here overnight and headed out early to get a couple of caches. Got the required numbers and headed to gz. Squirreled around for what seemed like an eternity…. Almost gave up when…..taadaa. Do love cemetery caches and this was a great one tftc
Found this one with my mum today. Paid our respects to the great Albert David loweson today and found the cache under the autumn leaves. Stunning.
Thank you for this cache. One of my interests is to track down the graves or memorials to VC recipients and this was another I can list with my finds. The cache was a bonus. Once I had the coordinates the cache was a relatively quick find.
Walked the cemetery found what I needed then found the name in the clue for a quickish find

We enjoyed a trip to Myrtleford to see some more mosaics and do the only type of cache we now have left in town, Multis!
This one took a little bit to spot but we got it in the end.

An interesting wander around and nice to pick up this cache along the way. Interesting part of local history. Tftc

Always fun to be careering around the countryside in the eTOTT with the sun shining on my back and the wind clearing out the cobwebs.
There was a time when I thought drivebys were great, now I think cyclebys are the best, so long as I don't have to leave it too far out sight

No luck for us today. Searched for 10 minutes and then searched a little more. Thanks for bringing us here regardless.

I needed a multi today for a personal challenge and was headed for falls creek. I decided this would be a great spot for a coffee and a rest break, so quickly gathered the required numbers. The hint matched GZ, but still took some time but eventually located this sneaky hide.
Thanks to BettyBoo3747 for the cache.

Called past today after a DNF. Couldn't find the original cache as things have certainly been pruned. Left a new container but it isn't in the tree now.
Searched forever - turned over every leaf and root but no joy and after an hour the cold wind and need for sustenance won the day. Seems like some intensive prunage went on over the past few months. Either my eye just wasn’t in, or the cache was a seasonal sacrifice! Great history lesson and super interesting never the less. Will return if I see someone else has a find!
Another one of my delayed logs. This was harder than I thought but loved the learning and the chance to get out and explore a cemetery. Very cool cache that I enjoyed
dalerious and catnap777 asked if I wanted to accompany them for a possible FTF hunt and a bit of caching[?][?]
I'm guessing that they didn't really expect me to say 'no'!
Rex and I had a huge day out[|)][xx(][|)] because after sharing a noodle lunch with dalerious and catnap777[:X], we took off to cache elsewhere and left the lovebirds[:X][^][:X] to their own devices and company[^]
34 cache attempts, between 9.31am and 1.51am the following morning, resulted in 5 DNFs and 29 finds
Starting in the Warbys, we ended up trying, but not succeeding, to complete the HSS series and finally ended the trip with a DNF in a foggy cemetery at Myrtleford
DNF! I needed a multi today so backtracked to get to this one[^]
Did the numbers after wandering around[^] and then spent an hour looking!
When we arrived here it was clear and when we left, it was foggy everywhere
I hate ending a trip on a DNF but I'm too tired[|)][|)][|)] to try again so it's straight home we go![^]

A few days away with Shumba7 working on BettyBoo’s A - Z around Myrtleford. We have had a great time seeing some of the sights the area has to offer. Even though I have been here many times, this series has me seeing parts that I never knew existed. TFTC although I’m beginning to think BettyBoo is a nasty lady.
Always wondered where the pool got its name. Now I know.
Always wondered where the pool got its name. Now I know.
TFTC. This was was half solved having lunch. Then off we went to get the final clues and soon the log was signed and replaced. Still hunting some letters….
Limited time today, so had to focus on what I hoped would be straightforward finds. This sort of fitted the bill, and the information was quickly to hand. However the search took a while and at one stage, looked like defeating me. Got there in the end though and signed the log. Quite sneaky in a funny way. TFTC BettyBoo3747 and a fav from me.
First day out caching for a long time, TFTC

As a member of TeamOZCAT logged in this cache, I am now logging as an individual predominantly to avoid any mistaken/unnecessary revisitation.
Under groundspeak guidelines, this logging is acceptable as I was indeed at Cache GZ in person in recent times. However, all cache owners have the right to delete logs as they see fit. Usually done to "Armchair loggers" or inappropriate texting.
If any cache Owner/s have questions regarding this matter, please feel free to contact.
TeamOZCAT logged finds when both Karen and Reg logged as individuals. This logging is exactly the same, only in reverse. Again, groundspeak acceptable.
For an unspecified period of time TeamOZCAT are no longer cache searching but remain active in our cache management and maintenance.
I sincerely thank all CO's and wish you all the best in your endeavours. Cheers Karen

Fav for any digger. Were a whole lotta fun. Many cache owners are already aware: As per Groundspeak guidelines, I am claiming find because physically found under TeamOzcat. I undertake this not for disinterested statistical purposes, but because of inability to revisit this cache, and/or because it's so damn confusing when viewing the local district geocache maps. I sincerely thank all CO's for time and effort in placement of their caches. Cheers Reg.
We are touring and camping locally enjoying what this area has to offer. Thanks Lib for cache placement. Now, I'm gunna have to look up what an Antonetta is. Person or Botany.
A nice and easy multi found with Matho64. Interesting cemetery reading about the pioneer settlers. TFTC
Today I had one task, to get the girls out of the house so my wife could work. With that I loaded them up and headed for the hills. We had an enjoyable day around Mt Buffalo and Myrtleford collecting solved puzzles and easy multis, with a handful of trads to keep us going.
The girls enjoyed several stops throughout the day and were excited to find all the caches. We even endured a heavy rain storm before heading home in the afternoon.
The storm was approaching in the distance as we completed this cache. A simple multi in a place I’ve driven past many times.

Starting a Scouts ACT 4WD trip through the high country from Myrtleford and this was the closed cache to our overnight accommodation so 4 as 1 and i headed out and quickly found what we needed before heading to GZ.
Finding the cache took longer than it should have as we were looking for something smaller but eventually 4 as 1 spotted it. I love a good cemetery cache (I have one of my own) so a fav from me - TFTC

First stop today on a caching trip with jorgo_crew. It has been a while since we have caught up, so why not cache, talk and explore at once..
I had this multi in my solved list so a quick stop, cache discovered and log signed. Plenty of bees buzzing around the cache today. Thanks BettyBoo

On our way back to the rodeo and we stopped by to say hi to Albert.
No swooping magpies were sighted although we did see the warning sign at the entrance.
There was a kangaroo lazing alongside of the grave we sought.
n0w0rries took the lead and crept up to the tombstone, snapped a few pics and retreated quietly, as the roo watched on.
We were soon at GZ and a nice quick find was made.
NB: The maintenance team have paid Ivy a visit. A severe haircut was the order of that day.
No effect at all on the actual hide. Cache in good order.
Thank you for the cache BettyBoo3747 and we wish you a Happy New year.

Our country would not be what it is today but for heroes of your calibre.
Another Boxing Day find with +Wife.
Very interesting history. We spent some time wandering amongst these historic memorials.
A lone Eastern Grey Kangaroo sat watch over Albert's grave.
He eyed us as we approached but made no attempt to move along.
That shady tree looked delicious.
We moved around to our left and cautiously crept close enough to garner the required information.
After finding and signing the cache, we said our goodbyes to Albert (the resident roo) who was laying in the shade.
What a commanding view he has, out over the town and beyond, to the mountains.
A most memorable experience.
Thank you BettyBoo3747.

Had a plan today - would take the kids to a local facility to burn off some energy, mow the lawn and put dinner in the slow cooker and then be on the road by 12 to have an afternoon of caching back in Mexico. Just I was about to load the car up got a calendar reminder that I was supposed to be at a school BBQ at the big hardware chain - had put down for an hour but no one replaced me so in the end was two hours which set me back on my departure time. Smelling like sausages I headed to Beechworth, Myrtleford and home via Yackandandah to collect a few more caches in a couple of holes that I had missed on previous adventures. 11 caches added and 2 DNFs (though only 1 logged) meant a pleasant afternoon in the sun with the geohound.
I always love a cemetery cache and wanted a multi for the day so why not achieve both at the same time - this one looked like a simple solve as well (even I can't get the maths wrong here). Surprised at the location of the cemetery (there is a new one further out as well?) and would have loved to spend more time here having a look, but the ticking clock and the swooping magpie meant I didn't dally long. As I approached the grave, the sound of wings and a sharp crack meant the magpie that was warned on the gate was in action - thankfully no contact was made and he went to a tree nearby where I could keep an eye on him. Got the numbers and of course the cache was located directly below the lurking beasts perch. Kept my eye on him as I approached, and was a bit worried about the pruning at GZ but cache was quickly spied (I reckon the council must know this is here). Signed the log and walked backwards as much as I could (difficult in a cemetery with so many trip hazards) but thankfully the maggie stayed put and I could safely log the cache in the car. He must have been angry about the Pies loss to GWS last night (and another lost premiership).

My fifth day on the road as I slowly make my way from Adelaide to Tasmania, via country Victoria.
Its been an great trip so far, visiting some interesting places and picking up a few selected caches along the way. I’ve been lucky with the weather, albeit a bit warm. Fortunately the overnight thunderstorms, lightning and rain at Myrtleford where I stayed had subsided by the morning and it was another mostly fine day.
Gathering the information for this one didn’t take long, but finding the cache took a while.
Thanks BettyBoo3747 for the cache.

While staying at Myrtleford for my birthday weekend we were checking out some in the area. Love doing cemeteries and reading of those who we have lost. The waste of war is endless. Picked up the clues easily, finding the container was a lot harder. We were observed by the resident kangaroos keeping cool under the tree. Thanks for the cache BettyBoo3747
A big thank you to dunmowin for their offer to replace, and then returning to replace the damaged container and log sheet. All good to go now.
Saving this for just a day like today and I had a hole in my caching calendar. Solved quite a while ago. Life
Lid is missing, log sheet is wet. Had nothing to fix it with as I was not in my normal geomobile. I think my petty pink might run into another cachel Thanks Betty Boo.

Stories like this always put a lump in my throat! Lives gone but not forgotten for all their achievements. TFTC - was a nice hide and pretty easy find.
These VC caches are always interesting and this cemetery as many country ones are, is up high with good views. TFTC
Called past to check this one today. The container is exactly where it should be at GZ. All good here.
Nice multi cache in terms of history, but terrible GZ location. Leaves everywhere and a lot of discarded plastic flowers and pots, turned the place over as much as we dared, but decided to give up out of respect for the location.
Couldn't find it Too much leaf litter and tree growth to look in a "respectful" manner
Found by Mary & David at 1135. A FP for the history here and the great cache notes again. Some interesting monuments elsewhere in the cemetery. Mary could have explored here all day. Found after several minutes of searching. Our thanks to BettyBoo3747 for replacing the cache.
In Myrtleford this morning so decided to pop by and check this one. I fear it has ended up amongst the leaves, never to be seen again. New container, pencil and log sheet now in place. All good to go.

A most interestng story, sadly:
Four pairs of eyes looked high, they looked low, they looked in, they looked out, but today there was no way they could work this one out!
Thanks anyway to BettyBoo3747 for bringing us to this location.

No luck here this afternoon, round and round, up and down, in and out, who can say where it is, perhaps the previous finders obviously know, but not us!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Unfortunately a DNF together with ravestorm on vacation in Australia.
Ravestorm needs some multis and Myrtleford is the queen of offset multis I suppose. This one seemed the easiest so we stopped here. I didn't check the date of the last log though . We found the person indicated in the hint immediately, but the area behind was full of leaves, impossible to find a "good camo" container in short time. Furthermore it was raining so we gave up after 10min of searching.

Up in the Alpine Country with sharkiefan and chooknchunk for the long weekend.
Yesterday we went on the Power trail hunt. Today we went for Height, sights and hidden local knowledge.
After caching on the top of Mount Buffalo, we were in Myrtleford for a few more grabs.
A quick and simple little multi that was well worth the effort . after a bit of a search it was chooknchunk who came up with the goods.

We will seek out VC themed caches where we can as we like to learn about these brave men who served their country above and beyond the call of duty. This was a nice straightforward multi that gave us the historical info then led us quickly to the cache. A little search ensued until Chunk happened to put his hand on the cache. TFTC BettyBoo3747

After climbing to the top of Reform Hill it was time for some more tranquil pursuits at a lower level.
This multi provided a great opportunity for reflection, for tragedies past and even recent incidents on Reform Hill itself.
Thanks for the multi and for highlighting some noteworthy local heroes, BettyBoo3747.

We are back up here for 3 days to enjoy the beautiful area and take advantage of the many caches here and up on Mount Buffalo. While the male Triton was doing the more hard core group assaults on the mountain , McLookers and I spent a pleasant afternoon in and around Myrtleford doing the multis and picking up a few pre-solved Mysteries.
With the information quickly gathered we made the find easily , especially now the hint makes sense.
Thanks BettyBoo3747 for sharing the local hero with us.

TFTC. We had noticed that there is an abundance of challenge caches in the area. We are always up for a challenge, so we decided to try for six multis today and 6 multis on another day. There are 6 multis in the Myrtleford area.
The day started well, although it did take a little while to locate this cache. Signed log and this was number one of the six required.

On our way to Mount Buffalo for the day when we decided to make a stop. We love history especially involving cemeteries. We started walking through the grounds and could see where we needed to be. War graves have the same style. We grabbed the necessary information and remarked on how we love these style of multis ( we tend to make mistakes when having to get multiple information. With the coords punched in we knew where we needed to be.
So many spots this cache could be. We began the search and soon found the nicely camo container. The log was signed and we walked back through the cemetery looking at the other graves. We did a cache this week in Albury that focused on VC recipients so we enjoyed learning about another local that received this award. Thanks BettyBoo for sharing this with us.

Travelled to Myrtleford on a lovely autumn afternoon, wanted to do this one for a while so today was the day, Being ex-Army and it being close to a special ANZAC day it seemed fitting. The OR's Club at the RAEME Training Centre was named after A.G. Lowerson VC, I had spent a few nights indulging in a few soft drinks at the club. Also on a few occasions being called out as a MP to deal with a few under the weather diggers. Thank for the Memories BB.
Found it with thanks to the hint for narrowing down the spot to search. The cemetary has allot of intricate headstones to admire and these souls have a great view to enjoy from here. Tftc.
What a beautiful tombstone, a fitting tribute to this brave man. Once again I thank you for bringing to our attention the wonderful history hidden away in our cemeteries. Thank you for placing a cache here to commemorate another of our Victoria Cross recipients
This cache drew our attention to this courageous soldier as well as his family. it was an honour to visit this site. TFTC
Found with The Drovers and Team Crackers on day three of a few days here. This was one of a few multis that we tackled. GZ looked worrying but it was a quick find thanks.
Met up with Team Crackers and Alansee, for 5 days of fantastic caching around Beechworth,
Myrtleford & Yackandandah. We solved many puzzles, before arriving.
Day 3, we headed out to do the HHS series, and a few others in the area.

Myrtleford & Yackandandah. We solved many puzzles, before arriving.
Day 3, we headed out to do the HHS series, and a few others in the area.

#638 - Decided to travel to Myrtleford on a lovely autumn afternoon to do a few BettyBoo caches including collecting a couple of tricky puzzles we enjoyed solving some time back. This was the 7th and final find on dusk. Enjoyed the stroll through the historic cemetery and quickly calculated gz. Took us a little bit of time to find this tricky little hide. Nice write up and piece of local history BettyBoo, TFTC.
On a mini caching run for the day to finish of a local challenge but mostly to get a rare Q letter animal for a challenge in Toowoomba Queensland.
A pleasant day for a stroll around the cemetery, a nice, quite Wednesday morning. Quickly decoded and after a brief rummage around the cache was in hand.
Thanks for the cache BettyBoo3747

Day two of our High Country Cache Raid....
A bit of internet research meant we had some of the required info but still had to visit Alby's grave to confirm our numbers. At GZ we managed a quick find after cursing the very thick ground cover.
Thank you for the cache BettyBoo3747.
#2620th @ 1707hrs and 21st of 21 for the day.

This year we have a long winter holiday where we are travelling in the Pacific. We are doing sightseeing and geocaching. Now we will spend a six week period in Australia where we will drive from Melbourne to Murray Bridge and then via Grampions to Canberra, Sidney and Brisbane.
We started New Years Eve with a morning walk and on the walk we also logged two multi-caches. This was the first of them. We found the grave and the information needed. Then the cache was found and signed.
Thanks for the cache. Greetings from two Swedish cachers.

Always well worth while finding out about our VC winners, and so nice to find one in this small country cemetary. Nice work BettyBoo, highlighting him and placing this clever hide away from the graves
I had two full days in Bright, once for caching, and one to visit Mt Feathertop. Today was caching day. I grabbed the necessary answers and wandered over to GZ. The cache was located shortly afterwards. Thanks for the cache.
We always enjoy visiting older cemetries in places we visit because it gives us a snapshot of the history of people who once lived in the area. The grave of Albert David Lowerson reminded us very quickly that this very brave man was primarily one of the "locals", albeit a very special one, who came back to be with the people he knew. The required data was collected easily. It then took a few minutes to locate the cache - it was another of those which was found when one of us looked at the right angle. The cache and it's contents were in good condition. Thanks BettyBoo3747 for bringing us to this interesting location and for highlighting the bravery of Albert Lowerson.
The things you can find out when geocaching! Needed eagle eyes to spot this one. Found with taurus1955 and BentleyTB. TFTC
We really enjoyed reading the information on the cache page here as with all Victoria Cross recipients he must have been a man among men. It was good to be ale to go and pay our respects today where not from the grave we saw a memorial to stillborn children who lay in unmarked graves around this cemetery which serves as a reminder of how tough things were for the early settlers of the land.
We had no trouble collecting the information here and after a quick calculation we headed off to gz where the well hidden cache was located after a short search.
Thanks again for the cache and the history on this great man.
Lest we Forget.

I love doing the cemetery caches, so much history. Micheena and I located Albert Lowersons grave collected the coordinates for the final cache and off we went to look. The hint was great. SL TFTC.
We love a good cemetery cache, and this one was no exception. Its wonderful to remember the history and the sacrifice made by others for us. Thanks for the cache.
I love poking around old cemeteries but it was made much harder doing it in the dark. We were able to get our needed info and proceed to GZ, which didn't take too long. Just as well because it getting too cold.... but maybe time for 1 more of yours Betty Boo. Thanks FTC
We didn't expect to be geocaching today but after lunch with friends in Beechworth we had free time to ramble back to camp at Freeburgh. We picked up six on the way, this was the third at 3.25 pm after an interesting drive down from Stanley. Well done, BettyBoo, for remembering this hero in this way. We appreciated visiting the grave, having previously seen the memorial in town. It was sad to note that he passed away at such a young age. TNLNSL
