A nice quick find at a nice wee church. Thanks for placing your cache. Ms_KR and I are on the road again, up "North" to visit family an friends. Today was a drive up to Taupo, with only rain as we drove around the Lake.Occassionally signed MK+KR on cache logs, and apologies for the generic logs. Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches.
It's December, and to help me achieve one of my Geocaching goals I need to log 300+ caches this month, which means an average of ten a day. As I meander my way home from Wanganui to Wellington, via the outskirts of Feilding and Palmy, I found a bunch of Geocaches, and this was one of them.Cache was found as described.---Thanks to skindo for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.[DGSc-Bulk] tagging to help me generate a list for GC30AD8 - DGSc Challenge
8 July 2023 09:45 TFTC skindo for placing this cache, number 12746 for me. In great condition, exactly how and where described!
Gorgeous church with freshly mown lawns, all ready for Easter Sunday service.

Headed out for an evening of caching. Completed the Bowie series so now for some Planets and Cars and anything else that gets in the way. Lovely change to stop at a church rather then a power pole! Cache all fine. Thanks Skindo for the smileys.
#8261. I was heading up this way to attend the community celebration event in Whanganui on Saturday. So decided to take a day of annual leave and come up a day early to the Manawatu to pick up geocaches near Sanson and north of Feilding before staying overnight in Palmerston North. Got an early start (for me) from Wellington and was up at the first cache soon after 9 am.
And another skindo cache along this road. Awesome. Cute church and interesting back story in the description. The cache was not on the side the GPS was pointing. Luckily I decided to check the easy side first and there it was. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache as found. Thanks skindo for hiding it here. Great to sign off another of your caches as I close in on 1000 skindo cache finds in total.

Heading back home to Feilding, and "Oh look! A cute country church!" I like these even more than community halls - right up there with cenotaphs.
I knew there'd be a geocache here, but initially I had no mobile coverage so no way to check, and just satisfied my curiousity with a wander around the church and graveyard.
I note the graveyard is still being used as a cemetery with a number burials in 2019. I also note the first burials date from the 1890s. There's quite a few children's graves and the Christian family buried three children here all around 18 years young at death.
There was one interesting grave stone with just the year date 1957, split by a Christian cross. I wonder what the story behind that memorial stone is? Child? Pauper? or just an intensely private individual?
Oh, the cache? Over in the corner of the graveyard I got reception and so knew what and where I would find the cache. Duly found, signed and replaced.
Thanks for causing me to stop and find your cache.

Out and about today to celebrate my birthday. A bit of a weird vibe this year, what with all the issues around Covid-19, but with Level 3 in place we had a bit of latitude so long as the Rules were strictly observed. Stay within our regions, and within 75km. Stay within our bubbles. Practice social distancing. Those last two were easy as I didn't see another person all day.
I picked out a few caches to do today that I knew would be reasonably remote, and not likely to have been handled in a while. Most of what I found today hadn't been found in at least 6 weeks, and some of them not since last year. And I had my trusty bottle of hand sanitizer with me.
This was a straightforward find and there were no issues with the cache or the log, which was signed before returning everything back as I found it and moving onto the next.
Thank you for placing this cache.

Rather pleased to hear that the local population was fairly indifferent to religion when this was constructed! TFTC skindo.
Thanks for this cache, great to visit this area and see a dear wee church. Love these out of the places caching takes it to.
Have not been doing many caches over the last few weeks and it looked like we might not get the current souvenir as we had missed all the recent events, including the one today. Needed to be over in Feilding to drop the Jr. Cachers off at swimming and decided that there might just be enough time to grab a few caches on the country roads to the north.
This took a little longer to find than expected and needed a slightly longer reach behind the right post before the cache was found. Haven't found a skindo cache for a while but the container was certainly familiar. TFTC.

Road trip time! This weekend Team BOP consisted of Davidson Clan, TNXPro, Squirrelnutcase, FapAndGap, McJandals, NZFlossy & myself. We'd had this trip on the cards for a while but only recently had we locked in all the details. We were off to central Manawatu and we had a very narrow list of ‘must gets’ so this trip was essentially a numbers mission. We had a great time and managed just over 200 finds. Most of the caches were found quickly and in good condition thanks to accurate coords and straight forward placements although we replaced a lot of logs and a few containers as well. A huge thank you to the CO’s as this was a beautiful area to visit and there was certainly an abundance of geocaches!!
Team BOP decided that with the MEGA rapidly approaching, we need to boost our numbers so we could try for a milestone number at the Mega. I am approaching my 3000th cache but was still about 325 caches away from that. Reaching the milestone may or may not happen, but this weekend certainly was about the numbers. I had an initial target I was trying to beat and that was my highest number of caches found in one day and we comfortably beat that, achieving 158 caches (subject to confirmation, once I log them all).
The best way to do the high numbers is with power trails and out here, there is a smorgasborg of powertrails.
We loaded up the van, gathered up all seven of us and headed to our accomodation somewhere in the middle of nowhere, getting there well after dark. The location was convenient, as it was right in the thick of a power trail territory.
There was no splitting us up, as we only had one vehicle, so we all experienced the cache locations, some beautiful and some not so.
As with powertails we have done in the past, there was a high proportion of waterlogged caches, but unlike powertails we have done previously, we managed to find every cache and were glad to be able to clear out an area. Also, with powertails, comes cut and paste logs, to which I apologise for.
Thanks to all those CO's who have placed the caches out there. Without you, our fun road trips wouldnt exist. We all had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend and got home completely shattered. It was so worth it.

Team BOP on tour in the Manawatu-Whanganui Region... With Gap (of Fap and Gap), (Mr) Davidson clan, McJandals, NZFlossy, Philip.Perry, and TNXPro.
This weekend had been in the pipeline for ages. It was always going to be a mission for various team members to get coordinated leave passes... We secured accommodation in the rural heart of the Manawatu. This placed us well within reach of a massive trail of caches... We travelled in one vehicle, so our journey was filled with lots of laughs, and good times... Fortunately, the majority of caches were in place and were fairly quick to locate - thanks to straightforward hints and great coordinates. Many of the caches had not been found in a while, so containers were waterlogged, and logbooks were wet... Thank goodness for waterproof paper. A huge thank you also, to the various COs who made our weekend worthwhile...
Quite a tricky find in the dark... TFTC.

On our way back to Auckland from Feilding, but we have a few caches to find first.
Interesting history for this little church. After a thorough search for the container we decided to move on. But realising there had been no finds for the past 10 months, unlike the other caches nearby, and that we had an identical container on board, we put in a replacement as per the hint. Hope that is okay with the CO. Cheers for the placement and the reason to make a stop here.

A quick find here on a drive north of Feilding to score some of my as-yet-unfound caches. Signed log, TFTC
On a weekend mission with Cats&Dragons, for a bit of a numbers run along the new trails around the Northern Manawatu area, and anything else along the way. As usual these types of trips mean maximizing caching time and minimizing sleep time. So with a 2am start time Saturday morning we left home and headed South, and not getting back home til 8.30pm Sunday night. Some numbers for the trip as I know we all like caching stats are:
* 1450km traveled.
* 286 caches found (192 on Saturday, 94 on Sunday) with only 3 DNF's
* 4 hours sleep
* With a 3 hour each way drive to the Caching area, so about 32 hours of caching in the 42 hours we were away at an average of nearly 9 caches per hour, this isn't including stopping for fuel and coffee!!!
So a huge thanks to all the CO's for the placements, and for the reason to see some more of our wonderful country, we saw some pretty amazing places. Sorry for the copy and paste logs. We signed the log books HKCD, or HKCBC&D.

Sanson to Fielding
How do you take 4 hours to get to a place that a local has told us should only take about 10minutes.
Thats easy, when your out searching for flashy motor cars, along farming country roads while completing not a power trail, but as I would have called it a TributeTrail to David Bowie.
This was great way to see the area.
Thanks for placing this cache skindo

Last full day in NZ so obviously I went and did geocaching in the morning! 20th of the day and I searched a few posts before returning to the original one. Another great church cache. TFTC.
I had parked the caravan up in Marton and travelled over to North Fielding to pick up as many caches as I could.
Cheers for the cache.

Heading out of Halcombe, planning a route to pick up a few more caches. Quick locate. Cheers.
This was the closest cache after i found a few must finds on my list. There was no traffic about and cache was easily in hand. TFTC
Found during a pleasant Sunday drive on a cool, but sunny and calm afternoon. A delightful, historic little church, thanks skindo.
Found while doing a reccy for a cycle ride from Marton to Fielding later in the year. Lovely countryside. TFTC
Out and about the Manawatu for a day's caching. A great day for it and a most enjoyable tiki tour around the back blocks.

Headed over to Halcombe for a Sunday drive and pick up some caches. Another well maintained rural church and cemetary. If I recall correctly from my quick stop, this church has been here since 1889. Amazing condition considering. Another quick find and signing. Thanks for the placement.
Noticed my un-found caches in the area had finally reached 'critical mass' with the new Gravel Run series so it was time for a road trip. Great weather, and a quaint looking church at this one.

As I had to get to palmy for work and with the impending weather decided to leave mid afternoon rather than at 4am Monday I thought to grab a few caches on the way to the motel. This was the twelvth of quite a number that I managed to collect in the dark, following Manawatu Back Roads.

muggled again!! who knew these churches were so busy on a Saturday. Had to wait to replace cache while being slowly roasted. Whew! TFTC
After finding GC3PMPE - Stanway Hall (Manawatu), I checked my GPS and noticed that there was another Skindo cache that was not too far away, as they say where's there one Skindo cache, there definitely got to be another.
Noting that this cache was not that far away from where I was it would just be silly not to go and give it a go now wouldn't it, especially when the cache was less than 5 minutes drive away.
Arriving near GZ, I soon spotted the church and I managed to find a car-park at the main entrance and then from there it was a short easy walk to GZ, it only took me a few seconds to find the cache, signed and returned it back as found and then it was back to the car to see what to do next. Thanks for placing this cache here and for bringing me to this lovely spot that I would not have visited if it was not for caching. TFTC TNLNSL (4901)
