Checked out and cache is gone. Looks like children play in this area & have found the cache.
Didn't find it, found zip lock bag and looks like someone has been cutting down trees in there, thoroughly searched for it
Always a worry when a simple drive-by hasn't been found in a couple of months, and even more worrying when an empty zip lock bag is found at GZ.
This one took longer to get the kids of the hampster wheel than to get the cache. TFTC

As we pulled up to GZ Miss Geckoh leaped from the van to play in the park whilst Mr Geckoh grabbed the cache. The hamster wheel was much enjoyed by young and old. TFTC

A straightforward find after surreptitiously entering the bush, despite the children playing at the nearby playground. TFTC
Two young relatives with us enjoyed the little expedition to the cache. Their grandmother, a local, says Elizabeth Rose was the name of the owner of the land all around here, including the reserve. TFTC
Took a while for the old Garmin to settle down here but perseverance paid off TFTC TuisReturns
Find #1336. Found on a cycling trip from Waikanae to Paremata having used the train to get to Waikanae and the strong Nor’west tail wind to get back. A wee gem of native bush here, obviously being tidied up a little. Cache was a quick find and the first sistema of the day. SL TFTC
Came to the park to play and happened to look and see a cache nearby. Great to see the wax eyes and friendly fan tails flying about. TFTC
Didn't know this was over here.. After finding the cache, tried the "roundy roundy" object in the play park and after 30 seconds decided I better get off before I get whirled off.. T4TC
Dropped Vincent the cat to the vets and needed a cache find today for the 366 day challenge so this was the closest. Good easy find at a nice park for the kids. SL Left a trackable took a GC TFTC

A quick find while on an excursion to the Kapiti Coast this afternoon. Nice little area although as I approached the cache it was obvious that there had been quite a bit of maintenance going on as there were lots of trimmings lying on the ground. However fortunately the cache site was unaffected. Signed log, TFTC.
Thanks bkj97 & robnzh. I saw the Elizabeth Rose House's when I was google searching too, also thought the Kapiti Coast Council may have some history on there reserves but unable to find anything. bkj97 - it does sound very plausible, when I'm next at the cemetery I will have a peek.
#3274. Found it on a nice sunny afternoon. People were enjoying the reserve. It is good that GZ is somewhat secluded from muggle eyes. Unfortunately, Scooby's Porsche TB was not in the cache.

After trawling through several google pages I came across an Elizabeth Rose who was (not sure if she still is?) Secretary-General of the New Zealand Commission for Unesco.
Sounds plausible that this could be the one, particularly if she has been involved on other philanthropic acitivites.
(Hoping to do the cache next time I am up visiting a friend who lives not far away.)

Have driven by this reserve many times and had often considered placing a cache myself. Have also wondered who Elizabeth Rose was. There is an Elizabeth Rose buried in Waikanae cemetery in 1998 and as the reserve was set up in 1999 there is probably a connection. There is also an Elizabeth Rose House in Miramar so that may also be connected. Would be interested to know more. Anyway TFTCSL took coin.
Found with Netty on a wet Sunday afternoon. This would be a nice wee park to visit on a finer day. TFTC.
Was on the way to Southward Car Museum saw this one this morning and Have to try For the FTF on it but we miss it and get

I was with cache owner when this cache was placed so will not come back and find / log the cache until at least 3 found logs have been placed by other geocachers.
