A lovely sunny Sunday winter's day ...So we decided to make the most of it and chase some unloved caches in the Chiltern Mt Pilot National Park...Found on the way home, interesting structure indeed, TFTC Harrowang, another series we'll need to complete now...
Out with geohusband and geodog for a Sunday afternoon drive. A nice easy park and grab. TFTC
Staying at Rutherglen we ventured to Wangaratta and Chiltern and did some drive by caches as the day was sunny and no rain about, and this was one of them.
Cache and contents were in good condition.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Found by Rebel Acts, in the Company of my good friends Roostaman, Mrs Roosta and Ski Pair, we were all able to find a free week to get away and do some caching around the Rutherglen area, we had a great time despite some very frustrating hides.
This is one of the caches found today. Today we headed to Chiltern and Springhurst to do a few.
All logs signed as Rebel Acts or RASP (Rebel Acts & SKI Pair).
Thanks Harrowang for the cache.

Another day in and around Rutherglen with Roostaman, Mrs Roosta and Rebel Acts as we chase a wide range and scope of caches.
The beautiful weather from earlier in the week has gone today, and the rain has set in. Out we went just the same, dodging showers to find as many as we could.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Harrowang.

My last days away. Great week away helped my mental health. Checking out the area and finding some caches. Great knowledge. Great hide.
I had a great day out in this beautiful area. Thanks for placing the cache. Great Spots. TFTC

A maintenance check on this one, to check the wet log book. Pretty well dried out again now, but cleaned and dried everything, Put some new swaps in and double bagged everything and placed back in position. All good again. Thanks for the heads up Phetlern.
Suscoe headed out this morning to complete the O C R trail.
We were in the terrific company of Phetlern and we had a great time finding caches and having fun together out caching again.
It was a delightful day, mild with lots of sunshine.
Thanks to Harrowang for this hide.
We met the landowner while we were here and had a good chat about geocaching. They had heard about geocaching and were interested to see the cache and to find out about it being here.
Please remember you do not need to enter past the fence line.

After completing the OCR series with our great friends Suscoe this morning, we spent the afternoon exploring the countryside and seeking jointly unfound caches in what appeared to be Bingley3683 territory around Eldorado, Chiltern Valley and Springhurst.
We met the landowner at this site, it was interesting to learn about the native animals which live closeby.
**FEEDBACK TO CO** - log was a tad damp!
Thanks Harrowang for placing interesting caches for everyone's enjoyment.

Day off today so decided to head out by myself to Mt Pilot Chiltern NP and grab a few caches. Tftc! Bit of water in container but log still dry.
After winding our way along some of the dirt roads in the area, we happened to be passing this cache. Mrs LW and Little Miss E bailed and Miss E made a quick find. Thank you for highlighting this structure and for the cache Harrowang.
Another part of the road we have not driven on before. Still is a sturdy structure today. Just goes to show they built things to last in those days. Thanks Horrowang. Cache found in good condition

On my way south for the last events of the Oceania Orienteering Champs, I took some time to find a few caches on the way. Cache easily found. TFTC.

Lucky coords are good. So many hiding spots out here. Loved the container, very fitting for the rustic location.
With middle child and geowife at cub camp, I convinced the other two that a trip to Wangaratta to do some geocaches would be a good way to spend the day (with the bribe of fish and chips for lunch). After a nice sleep in and some domestic tasks we got away just after midday. Target was a couple of challenges that I had solved for a while and to also clean up a few in a small gap that had eventuated west of El Dorado. In the end got all that I wanted except one (I have the info for a multi but at this stage have not worked out how to get a decent number) and the kids and geohound had a fun time exploring a bit more of the north east.
Next one on the run and some roads I would never have visited. An interesting part of the country, I reckon I would have heard the banjos being played if I had have wound down the windows. Parked and left the car running while I wandered back to the cache. Found in the first place I looked and an interesting cache container.

Taking the long way home from Bright to Wangaratta to check on a couple of our caches. Plenty of room in the log book for visitors to sign. Container dry and in good condition.
Cache found on a slight detour to an event in Wang.. another country road discovered.. from memory the log is just about full.. log signed and cache returned as found..
Out with OZREG, heading to a CITO in Wangaratta and making the most of a spring day. Taking the opportunity to grab some caches along the way Despite having a DNF's, we still enjoyed our day together with a few laughs and found some great hides and the bonus of catching up with a number of other cachers, while picking up some rubbish and having a BBQ.
This one last one to stop and grab on the way home after an long day. Thankfully it was a quick park and grab, as it is now getting dark.
I am currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. As of the start of 2018 my average was only 47 words per log, which seems a long way from the 100 target. Given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After over 7000 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 50 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before the end of next year. It's surprising how much is has increase since doing this.
Thanks Harrowang for placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play.

Respect to the folk who put the effort into these and built using just hard work and what they had on hand. Now you just head off to the local farm supply and buy a pre-fab steel jobby.
Mr harrowang was working out this way and checked on this cache on his way past. All OK and ready for more visitors.
Quick P&G as I head home from a day in the park. Glad it was an easy one as the rains are just setting in for the evening.

#2042 Final of 4 successful finds before the grand final starts. By this find we had managed to learn so much about the many features of and how to use our new GPS. Another nice quick find of a cache is in excellent condition despite the very wet times of late. Looks like there is quite a bit of history down Cluggs including this cache container . Time to abandon our caching for the day so we can get home to watch the Doggies win! TFTC Harrowang.
Great cache container. Found it with no problems. It was even to hot for the ants, walked over the ant nest near GZ and not a single ant!
Thanks for the cache and the old stockyards.

4364. Found by baby&Mrs gopher at 1125.Really liked the drive to this location. The countryside looking great after the weather of the last week. SL Tnx Harrowang a favourite from us.
Found after spinning around a few times with my gps. Nice lil container, havent found one like this before TFTC
Found on our 2015 Melbourne footy trip with Sol de Lune. After driving from the cemetery, where we got to this cache for a very quick hide. Such an awesome container - hope it's waterproof though! Nice area. TNLNSL. TFTC!
Found with Toy Hunters as we made our way to Melbourne for a weekend of footy.....
After a visit to the cemetery back down the road I decided to head in a little further to check this spot out. Glad we did....great to see what was here and have a little look around. Cache was found and all was good.
Neat and interesting spot to visit. Thanks Harrowang. Favourite point for showing us the history.

Mr Harrowang dropped in on his way back from Wodonga to pick up the colourful GC, so we can take it further south in a couple of days time.
It's amazing what you can come across out in the middle of nowhere. There is one similar to this in the Barooga State Forest, this one, however is in a much better shape. Really loved the area micheena and I saw some great views as we travelled around the area collecting caches. Thanks for bringing us out here Harrowang
On the way home from the Wodonga event. A lovely drive late in the afternoon. Waited for the only car within miles to go past then soon found this tricksy one. GPS was a little jumpy. TFTC
Dropped into Wang to get a punctured tyre fixed on the way home. So having a bit of time to spare, BettyBoo3747 and I collected a few of the caches we don't normally go past in our travels. In the process BB put out another cache.
After the cemetery we clugged down the dirt road to GZ (someone's car is now very dirty - not impressed, Jan!)
An interesting structure, must have been a bugger to build.
Thanks, Robmc.

Found with vk3gs nice spot geokids took snake and goanna, left skunk and phone charm
Didn't take us to long to locate this one. Loved the location, it really sets the imagination running. Was also great to see a container unlike any we have seen in the past.
After locating the cache we were standing by our cars discussing our plan of attack for later in the day when one of the locals pulled up to check we were not broken down.

I clugged me way along the road to GZ !!
What a great bit of construction there is to view [^]
An easy to find cache too !!
Best of all, I had read the cache notes and couldn't wait for some passing farmer to ask what I was up to [:o]
I was ready to rattle off all the details of the self-guided eco tour of sustainable farming
With no knowledge of said 'eco tour' until now, I am thankful to Harrowang for the simplified, geocaching version [^]

#5258 It was a very hot day, despite this it was the second to last day of our caching calendar that needed to be filled in. So we thought one in, all in but our caching was to be conducted via the comfort of the Geomobile and it's much enjoyed air conditioning. This was our second cache of the afternoon and we were very impressed by the construction of the old cattle yards indeed. Having a great deal of interaction with more modern yards (& loading ramps) we admired the assembly and materials utilised. A great cache container was soon located & thought it very apt for this location - a favourite from us. Thanks to the Harrowangs for highlighting this interesting POI. Cheers [^]
In the area with MuggleWife on the way home from New Years Eve in Wodonga and picking up some caches along the way.
Nice arrangement of sticks, chased my gps around in circles once before zeroing in on the prize.
Thanks for the cache Harrowang

Continued my rural meandering to this sadly neglected structure. Sad to see our history just left to disintegrate like this TFTC Harrowang
Found it with Scoutgirl3747 while looking for clear creek. Swooped in a yowie. Tftc.
Great cache, loved the spot. Wish the post could tell the history of the place. TFTC
What a lot of wood and work to put this structure together.
Cache was in hand after a brief search in some obvious places, and a couple of moments later Geonan decided to trip on the wire and fall gracefully to the planking position we now call it the "What type of ants do you think these are?" position. All was well no injuries then we all laughed . We have to take photos of all the fall positions from now on.Thanks Harrowang for the hide.

Owners checked on this on their way home - all good at 4.10pm. Some trackables visited too.
Used this cache to discover a new way of getting to Eldorado , but not at all of the track. An easy find, left the GPS in the car, and had found it before it was even parked. A nice little place to stop, thanks for this one Harrowang, seems I did a lot of yours this weekend!
yes, abandoned indeed. didn't take toooo long b4 geomorg discovered himself another different type of cache container. head back to base now for geomorg to head home, see you in a few weeks morg and we'll add some more to your list. no swapsies today, tftc from splittie and geomorg. now for an interesting drive thru the park in our 2 wheeler!
# 3125. Mmmm, another cache a long way from anywhere it seems... Nice to get the car dirty again under piles of dust. I knew where Clugg's Road was from riding along the road next to the freeway but didn't expect the cache to be so far away from the bitumen. On arrival I couldn't believe I was having difficulty finding the cache (having read the hint) then I realised I hadn't looked "there". Silly me, there it was!! Too early in the season to see snow on the Alps although mvyrmnd posted pictures on FB of snow on Mt Buller yesterday. I loved the container which fits in well with the surroundings. TNLN TFTC.
The Labour Day long weekend gives me the opportunity to head up to Lima South to stay with friends and to get some caching done in northern Victoria and southern New South Wales. Starting early in the morning I had a great day collecting smilies, eating the occasional sticky bun, and working it off hiking the hills. It was well after dark when I returned with a parched throat that was soon Quenched. thanks to all the CO's who placed caches that I collected today. Thanks.
Another local run, BL on a cleanup mission.... Caching with Poynts95 and Mr.David for the day, and a couple of the little kiddies, Marindah 5yo and Natasha 3yo. Had a great day, and collected just under 20 finds from memory, on a loop that took almost 500kms to complete, heading past the Warbys, Benalla, Greta, then into Wangaratta and finally home.
Loved this location. Abandoned stuff like this always triggers my imagination. Fav point for location and a nice hide.

Out on a maintenance run on this much cooler day, with a little rain on the side as well. Picked up the BRT TB and an Aussie keyring to make a little more room in the cache. We are travelling up through NSW in a few days time, so will take the BRT TB with us. Cache is in good condition and has enjoyed its visitors over the Christmas vacation so far.
We were up in the North East enjoying a holiday with family.
Since we came up last there seems to be so many more new geocaches.
We headed out to try and find a few and have some enjoyable days out.
Thanks to everyone who has hidden caches for us to find.
Left a TB.

This was an even quicker and easier find than the previous, despite not bringing the GPS. I'd checked the map and sighted the image so I knew what was abandoned so to speak. Turns out that we'd stopped within a stones throw of here yesterday to make a phone call, at that stage unaware that a cache was nearby. Nice to get it done and I might add, quite a pleasant drive back down Nankervis road towards Eldorado. I'll have to take Jen down this was one day.
Thanks very much Harrowang

Whoop Whoop *FTF* with DazRascal on a beaut nights cache run.
Got a call from Daz during the course of the afternoon for a bit of a cache down this way, and the hope for a couple of FTFs & were lucky enough to land 2.
Had been raining on and off throughout the arvo, but seemed to be lucky it was light when we needed to get out of the warm car for a cache!
Quite enjoyed the drive through the area and the location of the cache.
A nice hide too!
Many thanks Harrowangs for the cache & history. We look forward to more in the series.

Wasn't much on for a Friday night so the call was put in to Big Ez to guage the interest in a few caches for the night, and I think a couple of FTFs was enough to sweeten the deal even though it had been raining heavily.
Made one stop at at another cache not too far from here first before making our way to this one. Missed all the views the cache page makes mention of along the way as it was too dark, but had the benifit of seeing this part of the bush by night, its all so dark wet and quiet, bit different from the daytime.
Interesting area here, I like these types of Gzs with a bit of history behind it, like the container too, well done.
TN L - GC, Cheers and thanks for the hunt.
