Even though a NM hasn't been logged I have noticed the dnf's so will go check out where George has gone this time.
Had a solid look for it, found where we would hide it but to no avail. Nasty prickly lomandra
A beautiful morning for a stroll. I parked further down the road and found great joy by seeing the water flowing ...makes a nice change. Eventually I ended up at the required location and sadly had to disturb poor George as he was making preparations for the predicted weather event. Thankfully he wasnt that put out by my interruption Both George and the log he held so protectively were in good condition. Said my goodbyes and continued on to explore this delightful area.
thanks Net88
After visiting "Creative cache" I had a very enjoyable wander down the bike path to this cache. It may not have been the most direct route but caching should be about the experience and not the numbers right? Got to GZ and looked around for a while. I should have relied on cacher instinct because I eventually found the cache in the place I had first thought it might be. I think the bridge and trees etc might have been putting the GP out. Awesome cache!!!
As I went to leave I was looking at my phone to suss out the closest bus stop and I saw a father and son on the other end of the bridge looking down. I heard the boy say "Maybe that person is trying to find it too", but then they rode off so I didn't get a chance to find out if they too were on a hunt for the cache.

Leaving a note for myself as geoson has just done his level 2 flute exam up the road and the first time we found George was after his level 1 exam. Checked the date by finding myself in the recent find list. Seeing as George has moved since then thought we would look for him again- no luck this time. But might nake this a thing after his exams.
**Smilie #3988**
Headed to the north side (actually more west) hoping to flash a few smilies around the Bardon area.
Parked close by & headed into GZ.
Had to wait out an approaching muggle before we could start the search.
Muggle moved on & I was into it.
Bingo!
Nice quick find.
Made our mark & replaced as found.

What plants don't we like, let us list a couple wait-a-while, lantana, prickly cactus, thinks with spikes and of course Lomandra. George took a little bit of finding as he was not where our GPS was telling us was his home.
As with a lot of geocachers the words "let's call it a DNF" and then you decide to have another look and you find the cache, this is what happened to us today. When we turned around to leave we had one last look back and saw another possible resting place for George and it was good. SL TFTC

Well that was weird; driving along listening to, of all things, a podcast about the Galapagos, and specifically Lonesome George. Having found a cache up the road, I randomly selected this one for us to search for next. It seemed like fate, but unfortunately not to the extent of us actually finding it! We think we found the correct GZ, but were searching in micro pockets of blue between very heavy downpours which meant we only looked for around 20 mins before giving it up. We'll be back!
Note to self - read update logs carefully!
This has been my nemesis cache for some time, and I thought today was going to be yet another DNF. (I think I have been here about 7 times). I was looking in the old spot, until I decided to pull out the phone app to see that it had moved!. I then set about looking in all the wrong spots at the new home! Eventually the little blighter caught my eye.
What am I going to do for a nemesis cache now? thanks Net88

GZ offered a few potential spots to search. Putting together the coordinates with the hint gave me the most likely spot. Poking around soon led to George being revealed. TFTC
On a day trip with kestal to find some caches and escape toowoomba. This was our second stop for the day and an incredibly cute cache! Tftc
Headed out caching with angloj for the day, this was the second stop for the day and for some reason I was sent into search for this one. Lots of spiders and spikes but no luck finding the hide. Angloj joined in the search and made the very cute find quickly. She signed the log and returned him back to his hide. TFTC Net88
Found this little guy on the way home from a very belated Christmas shopping trip with the CO. Great hide! Thanks Net88

It seems that George has gotten sick of being lonely and has wandered off to find a friend. I will find him and take him home and enable the listing as soon as possible.
Perhaps George was curious and went for a swim because we had no luck today meeting him. Managed to bump into fellow cachers who couldn't find him either unfortunately. We'll be back another time
A day geocaching with Nikid1 was planned & a little rain wasn't going to deter us.
This was our third cache of the day but our caching mojo was a little lacking today & although we searched high & low for George he obviously didn't want to get wet & remained safely hidden away.
Not sure if we were having a rubbish look or George has gone to visit some other friends but we didn't get the chance to meet him today.
TFTC Net88, we will have to attempt this one again another day

Headed out for a day of GCing with KerriMG.
Very few people about as a drizzly day but we had a scrub turkey for company.
Looked high, looked low, under and over but nothing cach like or George like turned up. I hope he's still there and just a case of George blindness.

Definitely a cute cache. Highly muggled, though. I had to wait 10 minutes for a clear moment^^

Gave George a new logbook and replaced the missing baggie. George told me that he is loving getting so many visitors.
Found George safe and sound. A lot if friendly birdlife around. Lovely spot to sit and ponder my next cache. Signed and returned. TFTC
We came across George all tucked up in his home today. He is nice and dry and has many logs under his belt. Thanks for your cache Net88.
Found this one at the end of an afternoon in the city. It was a lovely easy find and we loved our cute the cache was. The log is now full but we put an extra piece of paper in there that should last for a little while. A new log is needed.
George gave raineyhawk and I a surprise but log extracted and replaced soundly. This is my 50th find!! Tftc
Awesome Geocache container. George will never be lonely living in this park he's like the caretaker watching from his corner as everyone go's past.
Geoson has just completed his first ever music exam so we thought we would see if there was a nearby cache. Luckily for us George was waiting. Possibly my quickest find ever. Thanks for the cache.
Leo the staffy and I set off on a dog walk in the rain in plight of this cache near to home. Found it immediately thanks to the hint. AWESOME cache container, successfully keeping the tiny log dry in this weather. The "information" is broken though- maybe let the council know? Thanks!!
When I found it I laughed so hard, this is a funny cache. It was in the first place I checked.
George was a little out of place thanks to the storms lately but we fixed him right up.
I'd driven over to Red Hill today to put an ad for a laptop on the noticeboard at the Tafe only to discover that the Tafe here has been closed. That was annoying but I could still do some caches in the area so it wouldn't be a competely wasted trip. Then I discovered I'd left my phone at home!
Caching with a GPSr and the street directory isn't exactly relaxing but I wasn't going home without making a least a couple of finds in the area.
After several minutes of playing with the gps and the street directory I found myself close to this one. Finding George wasn't too difficult but it took me a while to figure out how to make him give me a log to sign!

TFTC I didn't have a pen to log, it was a spontaneous little find, but one of my favourites so far!
Out today enjoying a full day of solo caching while the kids are otherwise occupied. Trying to rack up a few more numbers for an upcoming milestone, while also targeting caches to fill empty spots on our DT grid. Out the door at 0500 and powered on to find 38 caches, including 6 previously solved puzzles and 3 multis, picked up 3 new TB's and dropped off 2 old ones. Whew what an awesome adventure!! Between exercising muggle groups I gave George some company. Cute guy, TFTC Net88
I was in the area for a function and decided that I should make a night attack on this cache while I was here.
A short stroll from the car and an easy find even with though I was using the light from the phone.
I then returned to the car to sign the log in the light.
The missus did the extraction as my fat fingers could not dislodge the log.
It could do with a bit of maintenance as the bag has disintegrated.
A quick replacement of the cache without the aid of the torch.
Thanks Net88

Find #1336 at 10:30. Very cute.
A quick find in the first place I looked. Took longer to extract the log than to find the cache.
Alas, the bag is totally shot. Took the cache back to the car to replace it, only to find I'd taken out my spare supplies and forgotten to replace them. If the next visitor could bring a new (tiny) bag, I'm sure it would be appreciated.
A nicely themed cache, thanks, Net88.

Tried this one last year to no avail. In the neighborhood last weekend and had another crack aided by ablatent previous log and discovered it immediately. How did i initially miss it? Tftc Net88
Headed out to the West side for a lunch date. Heading home rather late and traffic seems to be at a standstill!!! Argh!!
I decide to try to go the back way home and then I realise... I haven't gotten a cache today!!
As I'm trying to fill my day / date grid for a challenge, I remember there is a cache a distance up the road, that I was hoping to swing by and grab one day. I've decided to make today the day!!
The reason i've chosen this cache? It's a Net88 cache!!
I parked up the Rocket and taking a short walk. There is a nice bridge with some water running beneath, so I stood and took in the view while contemplating where the cache could be.
My initial thought was that this was going to be a lot tougher than I had imagined. My GPS was not settling on any specific location and I was walking back and forth.
I re-read the clue and then it struck me!! I know where to look!!
Yep.... There is the cache! Awesome container!

George was having a nice little rest under his cozy rock. TIP: go around 1-3pm, very little muggle traffic. Tftc, George was very majestic
Is he lonely or is he just hiding? I can imagine after all the stretching and poking he gets in those places he's maybe just trying to get a few days without someone trying to insert a log! Well no luck today George.
Thanks for the fun cache Net!

Our find after work to day, Selva Girls and I. For some reason my phone was putting me way off, meanwhile Selva Girls was looking like a cacher and found it within minutes. Nice easy find, well at least Selva Girls said it was . I used my little fingers to grab out the log and, we quickly signed it, while we were doing that a couple of muggle joggers went past. We just pretended to play with George, hopefully that was fun for him, not so lonesome. He is very cute! TFTC! Nice little spot for a hide. **Note Selva Girls lost my pen between signing the log and the car
With Sezzz after work. Looking for a quick find before darkness beat us. Parked nearby and strolled over to GZ. A few muggles jogging and walking their dogs, but no one paid us any heed. I found George in a short time. He is very cute. I hope he is not lonesome for too long. Log signed and George was returned to his hiding spot
Found it. Not too hard to find. Didn't have a pen so we gave him a pat on the head and put him back. Mum is a legend.
AHH! So cute! I got muggled out for a bit and had to pretend I was really interested in the sign nearby about the creek. TFTC!
Yay. Found you. Last time I was here it was 8 months ago and a huge storm had just gone through so it looks a lot different today. I am now sure george was off wandering that time because today he was happy to meet me. Tftc
So, finding George wasn't the problem: replacing him was! It was dark when the traffic eased up enough to let me into the area (I think a motorbike accident had caused some serious congestion), and this put me right in peak 'walking' time, apparently. People jogging, strolling, cycling, hustling and bustling, dog-walking, meandering, ambling... you name it, they were out here doing it. Naturally, when they stopped to converse, they did it within metres of GZ, causing me to fume with impatience! I'd managed to nab him with the aid of my large backpack doing duty as camo, having a suspicion where to look, which proved fruitful. On the steps, said bag continued to hide my activities, which involved a lengthy and embarrassing for George extraction process. With the cache ready to re-hide, I swear it took almost half an hour before there was a spot clear enough to risk it! And honestly, the creek just wasn't pretty enough to stare at in the dark all that time, with dinner awaiting... Darn muggles. All in all though, an interesting and creative container and I can now say my fingers have been up a... never mind. TFTC, Net88. =^.^=
Quick find after reading previous logs. Sat on conveniently located stairs to extract and sign log book. You don't realise how busy this pathway is until you are standing on your own with a toy turtle. Logbook snug and dry.TFTC.
Found by Sunshine Toledo and Jinga2 at 10:44am. We have looked for George before but found him quickly this time. TFTC
