As there's been no cache to find for some time, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
Cache hinge is broken and comes apart and even tho log was in two bags they where both full of water
A lovely morning to be out here. Got to WP 1 and headed inland. Was a little concerned, as I went deeper into the jungle, that I was waaaaaayyyy off course. Saw a likely hide from a short distance and came up trumps. WHEW! Cheers for another yella-fella
Out for a walk, decided to have a crack at a few of these caches.
Another nut cracked! (see what I did there?) had to stop and empty my shoes of migrating bits and pieces, also wearing shorts around blackberry wasn't my smartest moment in life. TFTC!

1.10pm - A bit of bush bashing at first then found tracks from previous cacher that lead us to the Nut. SLtftc
Nutting wrong with this cache........ Found it sitting right where we last looked.

I had a friend visiting so looked for somewhere non-urban with several geocaches and decided upon Rotokauri. Thanks for the cache; the second that I have found in this type of container.
Couldn't figure out the best approach to GZ, but there were muggles sitting outside the near by house & some more by the lake, so had to just head in where we were least obvious to them. Crawled, scrambled & bush bashed our way, but got there in the end. Definitely an adventurous cache. Found a slightly easier route out.
A nice easy find when at GZ. TFTC

We had a day off from our Bridge Congress so we thought a walk around the lake would be pleasant before the forecast rain.
For some reason we walked past the first two hides, so this was our first Roto find. I see the CO was along after us to replace the log. Nice one.

After my work commitments were done for the day I decided to go find a few caches before heading to the airport and home. Decided to try and find a few of these caches around the lake. This was the first one I came to. Took me a little while to 'get it' but once I did the cache name was obvious. I think I've found another like this in this region but not sure if it was from the same CO. As noted by previous loggers, cache and contents are soaked. I added a bit of dry paper and signed that but it won't stay dry long. TFTC, Biggles.
Only managed to get 1 foot slightly wet but unfortunately the log and everything in the cache was soooo wet I couldn't sign it. Emptied out as much as possible but needs a good dry out. Clever cache.
went a bit cross country but made it to GZ eventually. Amazing cache container gets a fav from me
Found it and picked up the Take a Hike trackable for another adventure on it's journey.
Followed the instructions and got to about 50m when the gps went crazy and I found the cache while still supposedly 53m away! Nice container. Thanks very much kiwiteachernz
went nuts over this one but had to come out from under trees into the hotness.TFTC
Not too fond of nuts but this one I really enjoyed. Went straight to it and found it keeping cool in the shade. Left a T.B. tftc
Tried this on the way in to caches further around the lake but had walked too far and could not find a point of ingress. I read the description and realised who so I figured I'd attempt this on my return.
Made my way to the tree waypoint and from here it was smooth sailing to the cache. A great cache container!
Thanks!

What a great container. Nicely themed and very creative. Even though the path was fairly well laid out in front of me (thanks to previous bush-whackers) I wouldn't recommend chasing this cache in shorts - the blackberry isn't the only vicious plant in the area. I enjoyed finding this one, thanks.
Have replaced the log book.
There are a few thistles and lots of blackberry on the way to the cache, so shorts probably aren't a good idea.

Perhaps a new zip-lock to keep the local surrounds from getting too close and personal...
Found the cache after a bit of soggy scouting. Lock was pretty stubborn but decided to crack after some coercing... Cache needs a bit of attention as log book soggy but all present. TFTC
A great cache in a fun location - a brief bit of safari to get this one. Andy went bush whilst Kelly stayed with the Nano-cacher. Again Andy was glad of his gumboots.
We had trouble get in in to the cache but the container was great. This was logged with permission (as we didn't actually sign the log). A definite fav. from us. Thanks.

had to be nature-girl today, not really me, too many cobwebs, found it anyway, presume it has been fixed as I had no trouble getting into it. Was exactly what I thought it would be as have seen one of these before.
Ok it does pay to read the full cache page before attempting this one! Went for walk around the lake, just dawdling along keeping an eye on the GPS when I realised I was actually getting further away from the cache again. So with red juniors (age 6 & 7) in tow, we did a right angle turn and tried to take a direct line though the blackberry and scrub! Well we managed to get there in the end and discovered the cache so once we worked out the code we tried to open the lock! Well when mum doesn't succeed hand it over to the kids! It didn't take red juniors long to open the padlock either! It appears that I had the wrong side of the padlock towards me trying to make the code work, so if at first you don't succeed flip it over and set the code from the other side! Doh! Opened the cache, signed the log and relived it up. We retreated back to the main path following the cache trail that the cache owners suggests you take, so do heed the instructions. TFTC and a fav point from us!
Went to replace log and couldn't get into cache....need bolt cutters I think - padlock combo didn't work for me this time. If you find cache before I return with Mr Kiwi, email me a pic so I know you have found it (no spoiler photos here please). [email protected]
Track in was no trouble and just a bit wet - not bad for the end of June. This is a beautiful area - loved the cache and glad I took notes with me - Log book very damp and hard to sign. TFTC
Had an inspiring week of solving Hamilton puzzles. Was begining to feel good about my decoding skills... and then I saw the new and slightly intimidating looking kiwi looming large on the horizon nearby...
Left this for the return walk, as I wasn't sure how I was going to navigate into this one in bare feet. 'Swamp crashed' in. Luckily, there isn't much water about. Arrived at the cache with the required numbers. The cache contents are quite wet. Managed to faintly scrawl our handle. Typical... found a better pathway out. TFTC.

Managed to bash our way in without getting wet feet and cache all safe and sound although had to be gentle as some CRC is in need here.

We had no trouble with blackberry, but certainly got wet feet! We thought we knew what we were seeking, and yes. all safe and dry. Thanks for these off track caches.
Needed two attempts to get to this one the first ended up a bit thick, the second was much better but that blackberry got me as well, at least I stayed dry.

Lovely walk by Lake Rotokauri collecting caches on the way. This one was a bit of a mission to get to, and yes we fell foul of the blackberries too! Had a pretty good idea what to look for and sure enough we were right. Fortunately had read the description properly and made a note of the additional info we would need.
Nice cache; thank you

My legs have the scars to show for grabbing this one...having found a couple of these before I knew what I was looking for...but finding a path there was owwwwwww!!!!!! so many scratches from those blimmin blackberries. TFTC (I think)
Stayed overnight on the other side of the road. So took the doggies for a walk to the lake.....oh what a sad idea...All the little lakes were (almost) gone. We watched one last bit of water and noticed that there were some fishes desperately trying to get some last air. At the next (little) lake we noticed a lot of footsteps....and no water. We assume that some locals have tried to save the fishes...(we hope)
hahaha this cache did got me. First I walked twice into the GZ from the wrong angle...so needed to find the right location. Of course the doggies followed and....hmmm they didn't wear shoes and all these berries were not so nice for their feet. At GZ got stumbled, couldnt' find it so read the description again...and again....to find out I needed to walk just a bit more....and there it was...Jippie the next problem rises. Lucky I did read the description with the help for this new issue.
Nice cache. As the sun is burning and my legs are completely with red scratches, we decided to turn back and we will return for a future visit.

Wondered quite where we were headed with this one. But quite delighted when we discovered cache. Definitely a favorite from us.
Blackberry is evil. Getting to this cache required carefully negotiating blackberry, ergo this cache is evil. And what better to place in an evil cache than an Evil Micro Coin! Actually, the blackberry was ok (just) and covered in ripe berries, so I enjoyed quite a snack I could swear this cache container used to be somewhere in north Te Rapa? TFTC!
I was a little lost to start with, but after reading the description I decided to leave the family on the path and follow the Geo trail. Thankfully the trail lead right to the spot and the cache and log were soon in hand. Neat container. TFTC
As Mr P wasn't feeling the best, I said, rather bravely, "You sit here dear, I'll be back in a minute." Blackberries, thorns and flax bushes later I arrived at GZ and found what Mr P foretold what I would find - and it was locked! A quick re-read of the cache page and it was back on track! Oh yes! t4tc

After I found my way through the bushes I realised something strange. While I was opening it I was waiting for the monkeys. Since they didn't appear I was able to log the booklet withot seen by muggles.
Thanks for the cool cache Quiri

I think we took the completely wrong way through the grass, and the flax and the blackberry. It certainly helps to read the description . We came out the correct way after finding the cache (and brief panic about actually getting it open, hehe). TFTC
What else would you do when attending a Christmas work-do but go geocaching (between drinks, of course)...
Found while out trying to recruit 2 young budding geocachers, actually they found it as I took the long route. Didn't quite experience Trout Flys animal and insect wildlife but definitely found the blackberry and swampy hollows.
Wet feet was the order of the day with this one, no problem opening the cache and then back to the path to pick up the rest. TFTC
Clearly I approached the wrong way. Water: smelly, deep and complete with leaches, fish keen for a bite of my leg, an eel or 2 that looked longer than my car, malaria laden mosquitoes and other assorted creepies were everywhere. Got a bit of a fright when I thought I spotted a croc but it turn out to be a log... Then I had to fight through some blackberry that had a go at me. Once at the cache I had to dodge a couple of really persistent fantails and a rather irate blackbird, but managed to "crack" the combination and sign the log without any major mishap. Realized there was an easy way out, so got back to the path quick and before any SAR call out. Thanks.
Would have been nuts to walk off the track last time here as the track almost covered in water. Dry feet today. Nice place for a walk

Took a while to get into the cache, but enjoyed looking at the SWAG and beetles once opened.
Got within 20m and had to sigh, looks like a bush bash may be required, had a couple of goes but got beaten back by the blackberry...(ouch), finally found my way to GZ not knowing what to expect, when I saw it a big grin was in order, soon figured out how to open it and the log book was signed...on to the next one. It get a Favorite point for the camo

Took the wrong path in a few times. Found it in the end, very creative. TFTC
First find of the day and took the hard way! nice cache container (have seen these ones before)TFTC
Sometimes we make finding caches harder than they need to be. cool container. TFTC
poor me was being attacked while trying to find the cache by the surroundings and lo and behold it was right next to the observers...
Thanks for giving us a nice excuse for a walk today. Found with Candiestriped and the BSQ. Candiestriped was looking for the cache and then the BSQ had a revelation. She had been standing in front of it the whole time
Got some new gumboots so thought I would give them a test run. Cache in good condition, home to some slaters
Nice one, quick find at GZ with Yugoe4 and rosmar. Slightly wet feet, but not too bad. TFTC!!!
9584… Got a call from Rosmar and FMZ, to join up for another Rambling Rewards Slosh in the grass mini event. This was our first cache after parking at the Bunyard Rd trailhead. Glad we had our gumboots today… soon had this cache nutted out, TFTC.
What better way to complete our weekend visit to Hamilton than a late afternoon lake ramble with YuGeo4 & FMZ. Glad we had our gumboots on for this one as it was very wet underfoot on the way to GZ. Well themed cache and cache container TFTC.

Had the feeling we had seen this cache before - is it a re-incarnation or a replica? TFTC

Followed the geo-trail to GZ for a straightforward find & even managed to avoid wet feet today, despite recent rain! A fav for this cache, nicely done! TFTC
A cache that highlights our addiction to caching. Wet feet, blackberry, and a bit of info required to access the cache.
Found it was best to walk beyond the cache and access it from a more northerly approach.

managed to nut this one out but GOT VERY WET. definitely needed gumboots or something even longer would help to avoid the water and blackberry. Also didn't realise that there was a puzzle to solve before I got to GZ!!
Great cache container! Kids will love it! A little wet underfoot but didn't matter with caching Crocs on.
Many thanks
Many thanks
With blackberries grabbing us at every turn, the smallest Gnomes Hunter snuck through to GZ first to claim the Child FTF. Left Fantail TB. TFTC
A bit wet last night. Good excuse to go to the base & get a pair of gumboots. That done I went to .gz where it's boggy as. Cache is a cool one I've seen one LIke it before. Worth another favourite. Another ftf
