Out and about with mountainman82 finding active, and not so active caches. I mentioned I wanted to find this one, because I did not get to it before it was archived. Once at GZ we soon found the apparatus broken, with a container and logbook in tact mind you. After signing the log book, we had fun making the apparatus work. I am glad I got to this one and can see why it got a lot of favourites.

This cache is too good to let go, and I made the decision there and then to reinstate it. I did pick up the whole apparatus and will give it a facelift and will put back in play soon.

Thank you for the cache aussiealstons...and I am adding a favourite to an archive again.

Out with Dahumbug on an adventure! Very genius idea, I liked this one so much that I'll add a favorite point. Tftc. Fwf

Thanks all for those that hunted. My Geowife and I are leaving the area and will no longer be around to look after the hide.

Found it. Actually I found this one last night but decided to come back with a better pair of "night eyes"

As per the log from Barbbowman this cache has been trashed. We will look to fix it shortly. Sorry for anyone making the effort in the mean time.

spending the day up north caching with teambenders and angela

another smiley for me
thank you Angela for stopping at ones just for me

sadly this was just laying there
the tape is in pieced on the ground
and there is a pair of scissors hanging in the tree

i have done these before and knew exactly what to do but this one just required me to sign the log due to the damage
we have stood it against the tree for you

Bang on GPS. Read all the comments which had us confused but a big smile when we finally extracted the log. Our first Aussie cache so enjoyed the experience. TFTC

26-Oct-13
I left this one until my birthday. I had read the previous logs and thought it might be fun. I am bit sure if it is in its original spot but we found it ver easy and opened just as easy. Not sure why it is a puzzle cache. But glad it was easy. Tftc.

You need some more hands

You don't need to bring any tools or detach anything. Great cache, first one of that type we have seen. A&C

14-Oct-13
Well hidden. Clever "device".

12-Oct-13
It was hard put we did it

Oh what fun this cache was and a great team building exercise for the Ladies and I today. We had an idea of a tool that may be needed for completing this cache so brought one along. We found the cache and I guess at needing a tool was correct. Hmmm, so how are we going to execute getting to the log? I chose the dirtier job, while Lady membsec and Net88 worked together to make sure we would be able to complete the task. Angela minus Dave was great at supervising and making sure we all were doing our jobs right. Our coordinated team worked well together and we soon had the sneaky cache in hand. After signing the log we replaced the cache as we had found it.

Out and about with the lovely Nyssaflutterby, Net88, Angela and Dave in the speedy spangle. This was a very enjoyable cache. Before jumping out of spangle we guessed by the title what equipment we may need to successfully succeed in getting the cache. Nyssa did the honor of fetching, thanks Nyssa and after some team effort we successfully grabbed the cache. With the excitement I gave up my job which made Net88 cry out in shock!! Sorry Net88, but you did need cooling down. We also needed to use some other interesting equipment hanging up close by to open the cache.

Well constructed cache, we like your thinking. A favourite from us.

Taking on the Sunny Coast with Nyssaflutterby, Net88 and Membsec today and this cache was our next mission.

We get to GZ and realise what we're up against before turning out our pockets looking for a suitable device to complete this challenge. Nyssa did the honours with Net88 and Membsec leading a few helping hands while I stood back and supervised. Wink

On the first attempt we realise, all the tools we need are here! Doh! Another round with the implements provided and our backup in case and it's not long before we have the little sucker in hand.

Awesome cache!!

03-Oct-13
Found this cache whilst out for a day of caching with Nyssaflutterby, Lady Membsec and Angela minus Dave. We had an idea of what was required from us so we took a tool with us. Sadly the tool we grabbed wasn't big enough but the CO had been kind enough to provide the required item for our use.

Nyssaflutterby volunteered to prepare the tool and Lady Membsec and I used our hands to help it work better. Within a few moments we had the cache container itself in our hands. We couldn't get it open but there was another tool (which we don't know if the CO put it there?) which helped our weak little fingers.

Thanks for the cache aussiealstons it was a great cache for my #2222 Big Grin

Great cache. Think my grandsons now decided they like the puzzle ones. Thanks for our ? Intro.

Quick look. All still in place. Replaced log book and primary container. Thanks for all the kind words.

14-Sep-13
Mmmm one of those, well done bit exposed since some moron has broken several branches of the tree that would have kept it hidden. Log is getting a bit full and starting to fall apart. Thanks for the cache guys.

Well that's the last aussiealstons cache. Enjoyed doing the rounds. Thanks for the great caches.

18-Aug-13
Well, with a pending visit to beautiful Noosa I spied this one despite being absolutely hopeless at Puzzles. Sorry - wasn't born with the necessary gene Sad

Armed with what I imagined were the 'required tools' I convinced my regular muggle assistant and boarded the geo-mobile towards the GZ. Lots of conflicting comments in the previous logs but only served to made me snigger with my own plan of attack. I can sympathise with previous successful cachers as it all came into frame.

I think I may spent too much time taking cognisance of all the previous exceptions and expectations listed in the logs rather than going in head on. There was one common denominator though - laughter and the potential for it all t go terribly wrong with one of us more unfortunate that the other. [^]

The log is now in a state of dis-repair. I apologise for not being able to repair or replace it today. Sad

Apart from that the cache is in a great state today.

Great Cache guys, made us use the grey matter, well done! TFTCCool

10-Jul-13
Pretty sure of what we were going to find here and we were right. Rather than get our feet muddy we walked a short distance to a public facility to get the required ingredient. Mr Beetle had also come prepared with something in his pocket that made the retrieval easy. Have found similar hides before but they are always fun. Thanks.

Found it, but couldn't manage to open it...Definately worth another trip Smile

07-Jun-13
Team Fish worked well to solve this one and had fun doing it. Although we have seen similar to this, it was a favourite for us with just that little extra bit of evil thrown in. Thanks for a great hide.

06-Jun-13
Got the drift on this one and turned up fully armed, complete with an extra hand.
TftC aussiealstons.

02-Jun-13
On our first try we could not get the log, so we came back home and tried to find some clues, then went back and eventually figured it out. Nice one, very clever, TFTC.

01-Jun-13
Suspected what type of hide this was to be, so brought along the appropriate equipment. However, couldn't get the thing open. Was starting to think there must be some trick that I was overlooking. Applying some extra force eventually solved the problem but created another - breaking one of the cable ties. Carried on regardless, falling foul to the same trick as many others. A quick refill and the second attempt had the log in hand. Then a quick over the road to the petrol station to get some insulation tape to effect a repair. I believe the construction is now quite secure again. TFTC.

15-May-13
Found it after climbing a tree before without sense. Sadly did not manage to get the log. Any hints?

A rope made me climb a tree in the dark... without sense. Found it afterwards but didn't manage to open it. Any hints?

This is now our third Cache in this style, all have been slightly different and well received by us. We arrive a little prepared by bringing our own equipment. We were able to quickly retrieve the log book to add our names. We really enjoy the Caches were a little more creativity and thought have gone into their construction. Cheers.

29-Apr-13
I'd read about a certain kind of cache and thought this might be one of them so I made sure we came armed with the necessaries. Arriving at GZ I soon realised I was right Big Grin

First attempt - all going well until ooy, what's going on? Oh bugga, need to start over. Much hilarity ensued preparing for the second attempt but that will remain between me and muggle pal GORE who can't believe what we cachers will do for a smilie.

Second attempt - all going well again and voila, got the log Smile but in doing so my so called friend let go before I got clear and I copped it in the head Sad

I haven't had so much fun at a cache in a long time. Thanks for the adventure aussiealstons, this one gets a fave from me Smile

TFTC, yes, high tide is best for the view here. Geowife got wet Very Happy

25-Apr-13
TFTC .. After finding it and working it out .. I was the second person !!! After retrieving it , I let go and got covered ...

19-Apr-13
Our third find as novices. Very cool. Almost stumped us. Lotsa rubbish to collect. Cadburys may need to rethink their recipe!

19-Apr-13
Good fun. Have done several of this type. Its better at high tide. TFTC

16-Apr-13
There used to be a TV ad years ago in NZ that said a cup and a half of full cream milk went into every block of Cadburys dairy milk chocolate. Imagine my expectations when I saw the name of this cache. Smile Turns out I was wrong, not for the first time, and instead an even more precious ingredient was involved. Not the first cache like this I have found and hopefully not the last. Always good fun. Thanks aussiealstons for placing this cache.

We found it and signed the log..........its a great advantage having an engineer as a husband!! But we hate to admit that we still dont understand the "cup and half" bit!!

10-Feb-13
It was a really tricky cache. We found it easily and struggled to get the log book. TFtC

10-Feb-13
Out with The Booyz and Geowife to finalise our mission of 6 caches in 2 hours. This was fun! Almost walked away but after a bit of investigation we managed to solve the puzzle. Great cache. Thank you.

03-Feb-13
We had received a SOS from a German cacher seeking our assistance to rescue a TB he had given to a colleague to leave in a cache in Australia. Unfortunately the colleague couldn't find a cache to leave the TB in so left it "near a bridge"! After rescuing the TB, we decided to find a few of the local caches while we were in the area. When we arrived at ground zero, it soon became obvious what would be required to get our hands on the log. We were certainly pleased that both of us were here, otherwise our resourcefulness may have been tested. We figured we had more than a cup and a half while we were there, and we enjoyed every minute of it. We are going to give this cache a favourite point for being a clever cache, something we don't do very often find. Thank you for having placed the cache aussiealstons

our first cache of the new year, planned to finish 2012 with this one but was somewhat out gunned with this one!

So a new year and with some Extra help, R and I soon had the log in hand.

TFTC, great hide in a nice Spot.

This was great fun. Big structure a red herring. Loved it!

TFTC,
As soon as I saw the name I had a good idea what it was going to take to sign the log.
Arrived at GZ with the required tool only to find I needed 2 of them. Nana Nel went back to the transport to get the other tool and the log was soon accessible.
We visited the trackables sharing the experience with us, made our entry into the log and it was all over.

26-Dec-12
Found with Wazza9, I helped to extract the log. The first of this type I have seen in my short geocaching life. TFTC

26-Dec-12
Being in Tewantin for xmas holidays it was time to grab a few local caches.
We stopped by here because I was intrigued by the description. It was interesting to see the nearby structure hanging in the tree.
The log was signed and we were on our way.

Thanks

Ooh! You got me real good on this one!!

1st attempt.... Ok, I see what's going on here

2nd attempt, awkward, but improved... Until oi!! What's that???

3rd attempt, using a bit of engineering and speed.... And out pops the logbook!!

Have seen a few like this, but this one was certainly memorable

Thanks aussiealstons, favourite from me.

Great cache! Love a challenge

14-Dec-12
The two of us tried a few different ways to access the log and scratched our heads for a minute [?] and thought in the end there's only one way to do it. No problems TFTC

#4502. Last Noosa cache for this trip, and it was a good one. Luckily we came prepared, and all went smoothly. TFTC.

11-Dec-12
We came prepared as we had an inkling about what accessing this cache would entail. We have encountered much nastier ones than this, but just one extra pair of hands sufficed here.
Soon had a logbook to sign, and another nicely engineered cache.
Many thanks for the entertainment during our stay here in Noosa, we are flying back home to NZ this evening.

10-Nov-12
We Happened to be in the area on our Annual Scout Group Family camp in the nearby Noosaville Scout camp site. We had done well with our program for the day and were ahead of schedule. In knowing that we (Mastamak & I) wanted to get some geocaching done this weekend, we decided to take the group for a walk and introduce them to the wonders of geocaching.

I have to say this was the perfect cache to start them off on. After reading the description and some of the logs I knew what to look for, we had a lot of questions from the peanuts(kids), as they all wanted to play a part in the hunt and retrieval of the cache.

We arrived at GZ and the kids jumped right in, while we educated the adults on the wonders of geocaching. It did not take the kids long to work out what was required and took the required tool to find the required item. It was only after the second attempt they decided to use what was at had already and with the many hands around the cache puzzle all the chinks in the puzzle had been fulfilled! The Kids loved this puzzle!

With the kids and Adults well educated we returned back to the camp site as we could see that there was some rain clouds brewing!

A Definate Favourite Point for me!

On a Scout Group family camp in the nearby Scout camp site. We decided to all go for a walk so what better opportunity to find some geocaches and perhaps introduce a few more people to this fantastic past time.

This one had a novelty value to it and all of the children were keen to participate.

We were fortunate to have some equipment with us that made it easier to extract the container.

So after a brief talk to the families on what geocaching is all about and showing them the types of hides there are we set back off to the campsite. If any of them do take up geocaching I just hope they haven't set this one as a benchmark because they may end up disappointed.

A well constructed cache. Well done aussiealstons.

Found @ 1020 hrs

I parked the Geovan a short walk from GZ. I had read the discription & logs and had a fair idea of what to expect........sort of Wink

When I finally arrived at GZ I was greeting by this massive object just hanging there from a tree.......OMG Surprised It can't be [?][?][?]. Lucky for me it wasn't Red Face

I finally found what I was looking for and yes, picked it in one Wink. Now all I needed was the necessary extraction requirements. Now today I was caching by myself, this cache requires at least 3, possibly 4 hands......Gotta think [?][?].........Come on wesso think...................then it hit me [xx(]

Solution, walk all the way back to the Geovan and obtain some addition assistance out of the tool box [:o)], ..............NO not pliers Twisted

Ok, so I arrive back at GZ. I survey the container and readied myself for the extraction Wink.
Once things started to happen the log container finally showed itself. I grabbed the container and went to a nearby picnic table and did the deed with the log Razz

This is the first time I have come across a cache of this kind, seen a few on the net, but his one deserves one of our favorite points.

TFTC and congratulations aussiealstons - good job

What a legend!!!!! We loved it!!! Mrs KC and I have had a full on month with work, and to come away for a few days then come across this cache YES !! We laughed and laughed at what we were doing to make the find. Truly 10 out 10 as far as we are concerned. Adding it to our favorites and letting our family coin visit as well. Thankyou for restating why we enjoy caching!!!!

A fun start to the morning with the geokids. Found the cache then realized we did not have an essential ingredient and started to walk away. The lightbulb clicked and we returned and managed to sign the log. Similar to a cache we found recently in Sydney but this one was fully equipped. Smile

Went back today, had a few spare minutes before the bus brought us back to Mooloolaba.
And we did want to solve this intriguing question. And now we looked a bit different, and found out we looked at the wrong place. So now we have the cache! And a star for you from us.

We decided to do some caching today at the northern end of the Sunshine Coast. The cache description and logs had us intrigued so we just had to stop and find it. We parked across the road and made a quick find however signing the log was going to be a bit more difficult. We couldn't access the container for quite a while so were scratching our heads. We figured we knew what we had to do as we had found a similar cache in Canberra so we tried a bit harder and finally got access. We ducked back to the car to get a suitable implement to help us extract the log. It did take some cooperation so it was lucky that we always cache together. We finally got to sign the log. Thanks for this awesome cache. A favourite point from us.

Arriving here just before we were about to have lunch, we were curious as to what we might find. Found container quickly and Mr Parko knew what to do straight away. Lucky we had morris1100 with us today, we needed all the help we could get. I am glad there were no muggles about though, would have made for an interesting story as to what we were actually doing Wink
Thanks aussiealstons, gave us a giggle for sure Big Grin

Thoroughly enjoyed the teamwork with "The Parko's" whilst we worked out this cache - quite a brilliant challenge, and lots of fun. Thanks for the great cache Smile

Ahh! Behold! An onsite puzzle that is properly marked as such (A pet hate of mine is people that list onsite puzzles as traditionals).

I got to GZ on this one and found it relatively easily - but something seriously seems to have gone amiss here. I got to the cache container very easily. It looks like someone may have been removing a zip tie as well... I re-hid it as found - but I think it should be checked by the cache owner.

It looks like a bit of effort was placed into the cache - a pity it was not fully operational. TFTC aussiealstons Smile

A big day of caching Coolum - Nossa - Cooroy
WE have seen pristine beaches, wonderfull parks & some inventive caches.
This had to the pick of the days caches. After a quick lunch near by we tackled this one.
Found the cache after having a look at the surf board first. IT was all fun & games after that, have seen one similar but not as good as this one. Would be worth 2 favourite points if that was possible.

Whoo-Hooo ... [^][^] ...*FTF* @ 10:15.

Reading the description when this one was published, we had a pretty good idea of what's to expect, and after snatching a bonus FTF at Coolum earlier, we pulled up near this one Smile. We made our way to GZ armed with the necessary 'gadget', where the container was found almost straight away. Master 3 was called for assistance, however, he was not quite up to the task, so Janine made her way in as well, while Master 1 enjoyed the views of the lake from his pram Wink. A short time later, and what would have looked like a game of twister if anyone had spotted us Razz, the log was retrieved and signed. Another clever creation aussiealstons ... TFTC Big Grin
