Missed-ya - as previous cacher noted, there has been a scrub fire and burnt the whole area out. No trace of a cache remaining.
After a night of absolute carnage weather the morning was a wash out. Rain rain rain and wind wind wind. Gladstone had no power or Telstra so again our climb of Mt Cameron was thwarted. We were booked in at the pub for Sunday roast (Pork and apple crumble) and once we checked the pub was definitely closed we decided to get our arses in gear and head out for a drive during a break between storms. Fortified with scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on toast we headed to Tomahawk for a couple of caches. It was nice to blow away the cobwebs. Once the big rock was spotted (seemed to be a couple of meters from GZ according to my phone) this was a quick find. TFTC
Its very old, I couldnt find it so dont find this one Its impossible we were searching for ages
A pretty little village with what looks like a sweet caravan park. Perhaps on a future trip I might camp here .After heading into the bush too far, I turned around and started heading back when I spotted the rock.TFTC choppersruleKeep smiling

After a short search I located the GZ as per the hint but no cache. As I was walking away the cache was spotted but te log was so wet it could not be signed. I added a strip of paper, which should last a long time, but didn't have a plastic bag to put it in. I replacethe cache as per the hint.
Surprised to find a tennis court tucked away behind the scrub here.
A quick find of a very sad cache. The container was fine but the log book was saturated and very hard to write in. Perhaps the next cacher could bring a new log book in a zip lock bag to replace the one in there. Sorry we couldn't do that for you but we had nothing suitable on board.
Thanks for the smiley in one of our favourite places.

Today we found Tommy Tennis on our travels. We are on another visit from Melbourne just because…well, maybe it’s all those puzzles we solved during those many lockdowns! Having the opportunity to sign some actual logs is exciting!
Thanks choppersrule for being part of our geocaching fun.

On a road trip from Hobart to Stanley with my mum over 2 weeks. We visited a number of towns and we were mainly targeting Virtuals and Earthcaches due to the amazing locations they take one to. We did pick up the random traditional, multi, puzzle, wherigo and even a couple letterbox caches whilst travelling.
Today its St Helens to Bridport via Gldstone and South Mount Cameron. Once again we followed some of the interesting geocaches like the Earthcaches and Virtuals to fulfil our day and give us interesting places to visit. The Lil Blue Lake was certainly a surprise for us as we were not expecting such intense colour. A nice quick find on this one, signed and replaced as located.
Thanks for placing and mainting this awesome Geocache greyrod

pulled up beside GZ for a quick grab in the dark after spending over 8 hrs stuck on Little Tomahawke Island after retrieving Hawskie.
Out and about for another day on the road in Tassie. There was no rain today but the wind was freezing, so put on the coat and picked up only a few, as passing through the North West area. Stopped off and discovered some great find and the scenery was spectacular along the way.
We couldn't find the rock that was mentioned in the hint but did find the log at the BOT, which was easy enough. There were no tennis players out today...Probably too cold.
Thanks choppersrule for placing the cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy the find.

The first cache of the day after camping down the road at Waterhouse Conservation Area. Easy find and cleaned the cache out as much as we could but it needs a bit of TLC. TFTC!

I’ve wanted to come to Tasmania for ever, it’s always just been too expensive to bring our 4wd and van over, nearly 2.5k just for the boat (return) that $ always seemed to be have been better off spent ‘up the road’ on the big island for a few weeks rather than coming over. Anyway when plans were made to do a Big Lap we knew that it must respectfully include a lap of the little Island as well.
Having sold our hobby farm and put all of our possessions into storage here you have us, on the road wild and free in Tasmania.
Sorry for the generic log, but time, data and reception (gosh Tassy has spasmodic reception) are all factors in the decision to use a copy and paste log, we will always endeavour to leave a photo or two with each log and always leave a favourite point and unique comment(S) where applicable for the truly outstanding caches.
Earth, Virtual, Letterbox, Handmade and Gadget caches are always at the top of the list for us to find.
Thank you for being one of the CO’s who supplied us with a cache to find today.

Tassie Trip Day 199 - We decided to go for a little drive today with a trip to Thomahawk and collect what we could along the way. This was a nice trip for a great day of caching and a great little trip into the nearby bush.
This was a quick park and grab or was it after making the way toward the GZ a location was sort for this cache and after sourcing the necessary information the location was narrowed down and then it was suddenly found yea a bingo and the log signed we were once again on our way.
Thanks Choppersrule for placing and greyrod for keeping it for us to find.

Yep into the bush no luck out of the bush then seen what looked like a bit of a track so back into the bush some scratches latter it was in the hand. Thanks for the hide
After hunting around in the wrong place I discovered another track that led to lots of other tracks I had to give up as my long suffering husband was waiting in the car - another time.
Taking a very circuitous route from Hobart to Stanley took us here to yet another cache. A nice easy find. Thanks for putting a cache here GabMil.
Today we are enjoying the Bay of Fires coastline before travelling along the north coast back to Georgetown. We have loved the variety of coastal and inland scenery. Thanks for some fun caches to break up our trip and show us around your lovely town. Thanks for the cache.
Made this one a lot harder than it should have been with a real bush bash to GZ. After finding the cache and signing the log, I took the easy way out!! TFTC greyrod
Hi greyrod & choppersrule,

Found in the company of Toolbox and VK7HCH, on our 4 day NE trip. A false start was had until we found the right track to GZ. Thanks for the cache!
Staying in Bridport for a few days so that we can explore this part of Tassie, which we haven’t been to before. We won’t be able to get all the caches we want to this time due to time and tide!!! But we are discovering some really interesting places!! Male membsec was game enough to venture to where to find this one.

We parked as near as we could an made our way to ground zero the last few meters were again done by toolman since he just ran in and found it, we all added our names to the log.
Thanks for the cache
After this we headed off to grab the GCA trig before heading back to the car.
This trip to the North-east all started thanks to a facebook post by DaryVafder saying she had done Tunnel for Tin and after looking at the listing said that I would add it to my to-do list, that was on the 12th off August, not long after the idea of a NE trip was discussed with Goose of GooseandEgg and before long the Egg and Mrs stainless-steel-rat were on-board too, with the idea of a weekend away sounding like it fit the bill quite nicely.
While chatting about it an old Tassie caching buddy 1TOOLMAN who has now moved back to the big island (he couldn’t hack it down here) chipped in saying would we mind if he joined us. So it went from idle chatter to flight and hotel bookings in no time at all, we had a couple of minor changes of plans due to flight times and when people could get away from work on the Friday but other than that we were all set.
Myself and Mrs SSRat had the Friday off so we drove up via the North-east coast to collect a few caches we needed and were the first to arrive at our chosen accommodation Anabels of Scottsdale at just after 6pm and we had the fridge full by 20 past
GooseandEgg were picking 1TOOLMAN up from the airport but it was delayed, so by the time they got to the hotel it was almost 11pm and we had already eaten and Mrs SSRat was asleep, so it was a quick catch up over a couple of beers and off to bed to be fresh in the morning for the start of our North-east caching fun.
On the Sunday Tazscout joined us at our hotel and for the day making the searching team even stronger.
All up over the long weekend we found 28 GC and 17 GCA caches making a total of 45 all up.

We were coming to the end of a fantastic weekend away but had a couple more caches to find in Tomahawk. The GPS was a little erratic here, much like the original hider sending us backward and forward but 1toolman seemed to get a good fix on it and eventually had the log book out so we could all sign it. Travelling with TazScout, Stainless steel rat, Mrs SSR and of course the egg was with me too
We could see a Trig not far so out next plan was to find a way to it.

Travelling around with GooseandEgg, SSR and MrsSSR, and 1Toolman for the day picking up the caches in the area. A fairly quick find working together.
Quick one for the end of the day. Log was damp so hopefully we have screwed the lid on tight enough now. Kutgw

While on my trip around Tasmania looking for caches, this one was found.
An early morning start after staying at the Tomahawk caravan park, I was now into my last day and now I'm headed for Devonport and the boat ride back home.
Before leaving this little town out in the never never, I thought that I should find the caches around here.
This was the next, so I made my way into the bushes and to GZ, a quick look around and the cache was found.
**Thanks to choppersrule for placing this cache.**
Staying at a shack with a group of friends for the weekend. Grabbed a couple of caches on the way out - wish I'd done it earlier because I could have dried the log out. Easy find - but log is damp. Thanks Choppersrule.
Staying at a friends shack. Weather was nice for this time of year so dcided to go for a walk and find a few caches. Love this type of hide. Thanks for the cache.
Getting to GZ required going through more thick bush than we expected but we did find it fairly easily once we got there. The log book is wet through however.
Tennis court quiet, and cache found quickly ints it sneaky hide. Thanks Chopper
Even the top seeds would have difficulty playing here today in the brisk stiff breeze. That didn't stop us finding the cache though; in fact it was quite sheltered in amongst the bushes as we did our stuff. Logbook a little damp but signable. Thanks choppersrule.
The Plan: Wake early, pack up the van, head towards Tomahawk from Waterhouse Bay, low tide is about 10.30 am this morning. Arrive early and walk out to the island.
What actually happened: Woke early (around 6.30 am) turned on the heater in the van, went back to sleep, woke at 8.40 am. Low tide is about 10.30 am this morning. Left Waterhouse Bay around 10.00 am arrived Tomahawk around midday. Oh well, there goes that Hawkisle.
So while we were in town, checked out all the other caches in town, found all four of them. This was a quick find for us.
Thanks choppersrule for this cache.

Travelling around Australia, from our home in WA.
Another lovely day with sunshine! Tasmania is certainly throwing out the welcome sunshine this week.
Today we headed out towards the coast. Beautiful day.
Thanks so much for placing this Geocache.

Another days touring and what better way of checking out an area than by spending it caching.
Thanks choppersrule
Thanks choppersrule
Roger F and Raphael N were NOT on the court today - in fact it was quite deserted. That made it quite easy to find the cache and sign the log. TFTC
I saw the boobyalla as we approached GZ and thought "Uh, oh", since boobyalla and I don't get on when there are caches to be found, but in fact it was a spider web blocking the geotrail that was the main, albeit temporary, hindrance. A look here and there with the hint in mind, and the cache was soon in hand. The sign on the entrance to the court saying "fees were due in December" seemed a little odd, given the relative simplicity of the facility! Thanks, choppersrule.
A quick find after finding the nearby trig. Very quiet on the tennis courts today, no one about at all which made it easier to wander about. TFTC
Nice quiet spot stopped in on our little weekend away. Log book is damp, but otherwise cache is on good condition. Took TB to move on
We having a great time caching whilst holidaying up in this part of the state. This was our last find for our holiday as we headed home. The cache is dry and in good condition. TFTC.

The tennis courts were deserted today - as, in fact, most of Tomahawk appeared to be, apart from one lone pedestrian. We found this one after a bit of excavation. Tnlnsl TFTC
Hi choppersrule
Woke up in the Bridport Pub only to hear the rain belting down on the roof.
It didn't let up all the time we were driving to Tomohawk Bay.
It was still pouring down as I found this cache and signed the log at 0915hrs.
All good with the cache
TFTC and cheers
