Looked in at least 4 trees to allow for 10 m accuracy and all I found was twigs and leaves.

This is the third time we've been up this tree to no avail. The windy day made me very wary of climbing to the highest weight-bearing fork but a careful examination of all likely spots from a fairly elevated position revealed no clues to the cache whereabouts. I can only conclude that this cache container is:
a) very high, very small and extremely well hidden; or
b) is missing.
Maybe fourth time lucky?

Back for another climb after confirming I was up the right branch but no luck again. I climbed a bit higher than last time and scouted around but the wind picked up and it felt REALLY unsafe up there.
Thanks Paco Aliandro for the challenge.

Like others I climbed as high as possible, (I was level with the top of the adjacent tree) but had no luck in spying this little bugger. Was a nice challenge that went unrewarded, thanks anyway Paco Aliandro, might pay to check it
No luck today - spent a fair while above the ground but to no avail. I think I'll have to contact the owner for a hint. Thanks anyway for the experience.

I was in the area and stopped in got a look. I climbed to a comfortable height and had a pretty good look about but couldn't see the cache. I'll be back.

Had read about this one and we found ourselves in the area, so thought we had better have a shot. Luckily two of our party had no aversion to tree climbing, so one was sent up to scout, and it was spotted. He removed it, dropped it down, then we sent the other kid up to pass it back. I'm glad I didn't have to do the climbing. TFTC Paco Allandro.
First cache! Went with a few others new to it too... had a lot of fun having a climb trying to find it! Thanks!
The last day of August and its a stunner of a day for some caching. Today's caching run with Square_Pegs started just before sunrise and this time we headed north of the city which is an area I very rarely visit. A bit of teamwork was required here today and that was rewarded with a fairly quick find. Its hard to 'unsee' it now - isn't it funny how that works? Thanks to Paco Aliandro for hiding this cache.
Without any climbing or boosting aid on hand, it required a little team work. Once up, the container was then spotted. A little further and a little reaching and the log was soon being signed. Thanks to Paco Aliandro for the adventure and the cache.
at Last!
think this is at least the 3rd time i have attempted this, and this time Found with Scout Rikki and BelleAkelea on the first of (hopefully) many fun night hunts together.
Knowing this tree, and having tried previously, i readilly volunteered our newest convert to make the accent, and he proved a valiant challenger.
Not only did Scout Rikki get up, he spotted the dangler in the night with a headlamp, while we stood on terra firma with megalux seeing zip.
we did resort to the 'drop it down to be signed and throw it back up' school of sensible energy usagebut the kudos goes to our "new chum"
well done PG
thanks Paco for a level 4 urban achievement, but no thanks for the frustration; hope our paths cross at some point

There is no "I" in Team work and that's what it took to achieve this goal tonight. Along with Baluke and our newbie Scout Rikki we tackled this one late in the night with the moon shining brightly. Thanks Mr Moon helped us on our quest. TFTC
Found the cache easily enough, but as I was replacing it, but the cache had to be placed on a different branch due to the initial one breaking during the return.
The original branch that held the cache had broken (it was very dry and dead) so the cache was moved to a sturdier branch for the time being. Leaving this so the CO can check it out.
As our due, the bananas went to visit this one with the aim of testing it out against the best of 2012.
No disappointment here as the obstacles were great.
Up and at it the hide had been tested recently by either weather or treasure hunters. I hope it was not the later.
B1 used to have a hide like this in our backyard and we thought it the most beautiful thing to climb. Well to "cut" literally a long story short the tree was unsafe and had to be removed. As it proceeded it became obvious why. Indications of risk everywhere.
But that is the thrill of climbing as big kids all know.
A slip and a shudder from B2 was all part of the act of retrieving this treasure.
Worthy of the nomination but a broken limb does add to the suspense.
Happy hunting and do be careful.

Was out again trying to tick off the caches nominatd for Greatest Location in the 2012 Victorian Caching Awards. Got to GZ and was not sure why it was nominated as a "Great" Place, but it certainly must be a great hide. I walked around and around this tree and could spot very little out of the ordinary. I climbed the tree four times, looked around and spotted nothing! This one eluded me today, but I shall be back. The tree is very unhealthy and is suffering a lack of water and has a fair amount of disease. It has began dropping branches and so I would advise future seekers to be very careful how they climb this tree.
Second time lucky. We had tried this one before but it was dark and just couldn't locate the sucker. A bit had fallen off the tree since last time (no surprise here - this tree has some dodgy limbs on it, be careful folks...) but the climb was made safely enough and the cache finally located. Thanks.
A Nemesis cache as we had looked foir this one before and not found it - admittedly it was in teh dark last time which did make it much harder! Not a pleasant climb (So Ali and I were glad to send C@H up for it and wait below to pick up the pieces if need be!!) Oh and to toss up a pen for signing!!
Very cool, loved this one! Definitely a firm favourite! TFTC, what a challenge!
Found at 9.00pm After meeting up with Spladem at a nearby FTF and as Mr80 had been doing a little climbing of late we joined forces for this one. Between us we had all the necessary tools and a short while later with co-ordinated effort the cache was located and the log signed. TFTC
This was a cache which has been on my watchlist / radar since it was first published.. I've been eagerly reading the found (and didn't found) logs.. Tonight whilst in the area and with 80degrees for company and equipment we could team up for the find.. I climbed alot higher than I needed.. however from there I could see the camo'd container.. and down climb to where I could rest and make the sign.. Thanks Paco Aliandro for the cache and Mrs and Mrs 80 degrees for the company/joint find.. Find #3360 and favorite..
Good golly miss Molly, this was a tricky one to get at. Took me all of two minutes to find the cache (was probably more luck than anything) but it took me the best part of fifteen minutes to combat my shaky feeling and my bad leg, get the cache down (barely missing the best slips-catch of my life in the process!), sign the log and get it back up. All I can say is that this is the best cache I have encountered so far (bearing in mind that it's #26) and easily the trickiest. Well placed Paco!
Respect owner that you put this one up there without any gear!!!
Centrocampisto, dad and I took a while before I finally discovered what we were looking for. Centrocampisto was already half up and climbed the rest to log. I was just a bit worried that the gum tree would hold Dad just couldn't get over what we get up to .
Must say the T4 is min a T4.5 of not a T5.
Thx owner for the challenge.

Coming home from a visit to the north-eastern suburbs Skippy+Co and I decided to pay a visit to this interesting cache.
Once we came to the scene it was quite clear which object had to be climbed. Since i wore the better gear for such a task, I went up. Skippy was seeking from ground level and i was checking from my elevated position.
Finally It was hawkeye-Skippy who spotted it first. My task now was to lift my 110kg of mere passion up to the hiding place, log that lil' bugger and safely return down again.
Mission accomplished.

Spotted from ground level but a little high for a short fat man in thongs. Another day.
Made a short visit to confirm the cache is still there, and it is. It is NOT on the broken limb. Keep searching people, it is up there!
Had another try tonight and sent a more agile and sprightly, yet enthusiastic interstate muggle up and quite high too.
How can the tree at Wobbies world be easier? why is this one becoming my nemesis!
Well done Paco, and its a shame the Challenges are going, think you did all of mine with your mask on!

Large limb was down when I found the cache two days prior. Cache unaffected by limb and should still be in good order. Just a tricky one to spot.
Send PenguinChick up the tree to hunt around but had no luck.
there is a large branch broken off at GZ but as its caught up in the neighbouring tree we couldnt see if it was the limb in question. Anyhoo, we couldnt find it but seeing the arboreal damage present it may be worth a visit from CO to confirm or deny.

Some how I caught sight of the cache from the ground. Then another 100kg goes up the tree. Tftc

Was out with caching wingman ahomburg once more for a short but enjoyable cache run starting in Heidelberg heading north thru Bundoora, basically following the caches north were ever they went. Not a big numbers run but with a good mix of D/T combos and hide types, doing it urban style, with the 3 type cache rule also achieved once more.
After reading the logs once at GZ realized what would be required and at first wasn't sure which one it was but then further reading of other logs made it clear. However after spending a good 5mins trying to spot the cache from the ground I decided to give it a go as it was my turn to climb. With a helpful shove by ahomburg I was up and onto the first stage. Even at this point I could see the path to take so took it in stages and once at the second stage I spotted it. What its up there! At this moment looking at the size of the branches I was feeling nervous but knew it was possible. So with determination I lifted myself up to the final 3rd stage which once started was easier then I expected but no way obvious at the start and was the scariest part of the entire climb. Once locked in a firm position made the reach and it took some effort to finally have cache in hand which was a huge relief, but also very satisfying at the same time. TFTC Paco Aliandro a well rated and challenging cache, a favorite just awesome

Its a Monday and I wasn't at work, Yay, so why not go on a short caching run. My caching partner SedgwickDave was free too so he picked me up on the way. We were initially headed towards the Heidelberg area then on to Greensborough but we were basically winging it.
There is one word to describe this cache, wow, We spent some time deciding which tree it was going to be in. When we chose, dave made the climb and soon spotted the cache. The next stage was a tricky bit and followed by an even trickier bit just retrieving the cache container.
Thanks to Paco Alindro for the cache. A Favorite point Awarded.

Wow!! What a cache! I am a 41 year old, 6 foot 1, 100kg bloke and in the words of Danny Glover......"I'm too old for this s%".
Myself, Mrs and Miss Manatunga found the coordinates easily enough and figured we were at the right tree. Read the previous logs and kinda knew it was up there somewhere. Whomever it was who thought it was about 10 feet up is having a laugh.....that was at least 15 feet (circa 4m).
Our story sort of went something like this.......I managed to get up to the "second stage" of the climb had a good look; no joy. Came down again, read a bit more, had a look up again from all angles and then...BINGO!.......I saw the flipping thing right up in the clouds dangling in the wind. Took around 30 minutes to get to this point. Jeez.....how the hell am I going to get that we thought?
Mmmm my thoughts went back to "being too old".......still no-one else was going to get it were they......Climbed up; tree swaying (not sure if it was the wind or she was trying to get this lump off her?), Getting up to stage 2 of the climb was easy enough, but my word....the ascent to the stage 3 was difficult. I got there with a big pull up and a leap of faith from my grippy Merrell shoes. Positioned myself on the v-notch between scarily thin branches'.........I reached out, got it. Phew!!
Oh dear......Problem......log was stuck..........dropped it down to Mrs Manatunga to sign.........she threw it back up after signing.........caught first time......Yay!........re-attached it.
Now for the fun bit!...How the %$$^&* do I get down!! Nearly got myself stuck on descent attempt 1; got my arm caught and couldnt free it!!; luckily the death grip took hold and then I pulled myself back up to free my arm; then on descent attempt 2 I did the "fireman's pole" back to stage 2....phew....made it.....although I did rip my shin and both arms to shreds doing it.
Not bloody well climbing trees again I can tell ya.
Fabulous cache...awesome experience for just over an hour of my life.
Thanks very much...big thumbs up from the Manatunga3 (albeit Mrs and Miss M are laughing at me a bit over this one).

Found this on an improtu stop in the area with onwheels melzor and deanchenz. deanchenz and I made the climb while melzor and onwheels yelled at us to be careful. Just when I thought I couldn't find it I looked up and there it was. So pleased with myself I took a photo while up there and sent it to the CO

This was, cache # 9 of 16 finds for the day, in the company of Crazy! Nat Girl. I came I climbed I conquered, hardest part was trying to get the log out while balanced up the tree. My thanks to Paco Aliandro for the cache.
16 of 20 found today. Mrs H has been postponing this one. Fair enough but today was the day and with Mr H in tow we went to have a look. At 100kg + he was putting a fair bit of faith in the branches but was pretty sure they would hold and they did. The first 40 minutes was spent like some massive sloth peering intently at all the branches until finally "I see it" and "shit its high". The next twenty minutes was spent with Mrs H trying to chuck a pencil up to Mr H as he wasn't keen on doing the climb again. He finally got the job done and descended to the plains where he is content to evolve a less arboreal lifestyle. TFTC. We're giving it a favourite and this doesn't happen every day.
Spotted the cache, however with signs that more substantial branches had broken in the recent past, decided that the risk of a tumble from cache height, should the branch give way, could not be justified by a single smiley.
Yay!!!! Finally found the cache!!! Took me forever!!!! Great tree I am glad I had the opportunity to climb it as many times as I did. But I am also VERY glad to have a smiley on this cache now. Fave point for me cos of the challenge I had in retrieving said cache. The total climb tally of this tree to find the cache is 7, a bit embarrassing, but I enjoyed every climb although none were anywhere near as long as my first ascent which lasted several hours checking other neighboring trees and dodging kids having their PE lessons on the hockey pitch. TFTC
I read the logs for this cache at home in the morning, I was a bit concerned with the challenge, and at the tree I was hoping the cache would be within easy grasp. Once I was up, it took me only a minute to spy the cache, I think the other failing cachers expected it to be more accessible.
I met up with Alan and he watched me double guessing the strength of the branch I was about to climb. I'm a bit skinny and that helped to prevent the branch snapping, however someone a bit heavier than me might be able to snap the branch and fall out of the tree and into a decent injury. I'm not familiar with climbing precarious branches (maybe the cache owner is) but I don't think many people would have the courage to get up there and get their hands around the container.
Happy to be able to walk away from this one with only 1 minor scratch, I got Alan to sign the log for me so I couldn't check what signatures were written on the logbook.

I had previously contacted Danozz earlier in the day for help on a cache, and as chance would have it we were both heading in this direction. When we contacted each other an hour or so later, we were 400m apart in this area, so we met up here.
Happily for me, not only had he found the cache by the time I got here, but he was half way to retrieving it. With a little encouragement he went the rest of the way. Not for the faint-hearted or less than agile, this one!

Checked on this today and glad to say it is alive and well. Even took me a few minutes to find it while up there. So come on cachers, be adventurous and go hard.
Walked past today and surveyed the damage. Will have to investigate in the next few days. Advise others to give this a miss until then.
Looked, couldn't find in the dark. May well be present but it would be nice to have this confirmed after storm damage at GZ. Thanks for the cache even though I didn't find it this time.
[GZ not GA. Damn autocompletion on phones! Plus I see the cache is now offline; I'll have to go back once it's online again.]

Was here with ollave (before it was disabled!) and I volunteered to do the climbing, got to about 10ft up but couldn't see the cache and didn't really want to go much higher (being a slightly overweight middle aged bloke never helps with these child like endeavors!!) Will consider another visit once back online, thanks to Paco Aliandro for this one
Came to GZ today and found the tree a little broken up after this weeks storm, this didn't stop us, we climbed on up. but had no luck please confirm cache is still in place.
Another huge and awesome TDC (The Demolition Crew) run consisting of myself, Quasar3671 and TrailRunning. Starting in the afternoon, heading into the evening, night and early morning hours, we cached until we almost dropped, finding around 70 for the run. A huge effort. The run took us from the Eastern Suburbs, winding our way slowly out of Melbourne then up to Sunbury and finally back through Melbourne.
The weather was fine, with no rain to be seen. A big mixed bag of caches with at least 10 mysteries, several multis, a few night caches, a few tree climbs, and a few nice walks thrown in as well. Marty got stung by stinging nettles, we had a huge Maccas feed during the night and we even stopped at a local Sunbury pub for a pot of beer, the run was going so well time wise. A top night caching down south for me.
This one was my turn to climb, and glad I did, top spot for a cache, it was nice and high, and the tree was swaying quite a bit, but fun all round. TFTC.

An exceptionally huge and successful winters afternoon, evening and night of caching by The Demolition Crew (myself, Blacklegend and Trailrunning). Yet again the weather was kind to us and although it was pretty cold, the rain held off all night. In a nut shell we worked our way from the eastern side of Melbourne across to Sunbury then back through Melbourne city itself. With only a few DNF's for the night I managed to net about 64 caches for the night ranging from some nice easy trads, multis and puzzles that we had worked out the finals for, and a difficult up tree hide that had me being hoisted up by Blacklegend and Trailrunning, using the harness and ropes supplied by TR. I was glad to get down after that one as with the tightness of the harness was almost giving me at extra set of tonsils, if you know what I mean . The last of the difficult local tree hides now conquered (for now).
Another highlight - or lowlight was when we did Time & Tide. The terrain was very wet and slippery and stinging nettle everywhere. I managed to slip and my right hand and wrist slammed into a great big patch of the stuff. Three days later my hand was still feeling the effects with pins and needles and numbness. At one point we even stopped for a beer at a local pub in Sunbury as we were ahead of time, and sat and relaxed for a few minutes and enjoyed the larger. Back on the road and we continued on, into the early hours of the morning. A great night both for the cache's found and the localities visited.
Marshy did the climb here tonight. Thanks for the cache.

2TF. Yet on another clear winter’s night, The Demotion Crew (TDC – Quasar3671, Blacklegend, and TrailRunning) are out on another mammoth night-time caching run. This time the route took us north of Melbourne. One could describe it as a run through the northern outer suburbs from Eltham to Sunbury, and the final part of the night (or should I say just before daybreak) in central Melbourne. We have all cached these areas before, but with new caches being published all the time, and multi’s yet to be found, the night yielded a swag of over 70 caches. Many of the multi’s had been worked out using Google and streetview in the planning phase before the night. The night was going so well, we were well ahead of time, so we stopped for a beer at a local Sunbury pub. There is nothing like helping out the local economy! The highlight of the night was Cladocalyx (GC2RTN3). This cache I had previously attempted immediately after doing the Woodlands series, but I was so tired I was unable to get to the cache. On this night we had great success in harnessing up Marty, and pulling him up to the cache using my climbing gear.
This was another climbing cache attempted today. Marshy did the deed and finally spotted the sucker. Nice a high too. Thanks.

This has proven to be a tougher find than I expected it to be.
So it left me with two choices: either provide a hint to make the cache easier to find, or raise the difficulty to better reflect the challenging nature of the cache.
I chose the latter. Keep searching people, it is there, I promise.

I am embarrassed to say DNF #3 spending almost an hour at it today. love the tree it's a great climb. just can't seem to locate the tricky little cache. I will be back...
After declaring I was too sick to leave the couch today, I couldn't resist giving the new wheels a try, so bundled hubby & the dog in - with a step ladder! I surveyed the GZ while hubby finished his pie and couldn't spot the cache. It started spitting so lizzy and I will blame that for a lack of enthusiasm to try it out. Will need a nicer day plus a set of lungs and nose not filled of gunk to attempt this
I'm not even going to claim a DNF. Wandered over here after visiting 2 nearby caches. Early Saturday afternoon - hockey games in progress and lots of potential muggles. No way this female Senior could do that expecially on a Saturday afternoon, even with the suggestion of a step ladder! Will leave it for the more agile at a quieter time.
After a few DNF's I decided to check on this. Yes it is still there. Keep searching people.
24/07/2012 22:41 Hmm, maybe this is harder at night or I my caching tracking system was off but I looked for at least 1/2 hour but found nothing. I was initially wondering how to get into the tree but hunted about a found a suitable branch that had fallen from another and managed to use it is a make-shift ladder. Future hunters would be advised to bring at least a 3-step ladder. - David
We wandered over to this one after finding another nearby. C@H went up the tree, while Ali and I watched from below, but none of us could spot the cache
Yikes, Paco! Pleased to get that *FTF* but equally glad to have reached terra firma again in one piece. The nearby school hockey pitch was in use but I was shielded by another tree's foliage. Can't see this being muggled any time soon. I couldn't see the cache before I left the ground but it came into view after using a bit of tracking sense. Thanks again for placing this cache.
FAILED for me this time I will be back the climb was great but the sneaky little cache... I got here within 40 mins of this one being published school kids were still on the pitch. Searched for ages!!! But with purple fingers I think it is time to go home... Over I hate to say it two hours of searching later. I will be back
