Time to archive this one. When I next go though town I will look for a better spot. Thanks to Noikmeister for confirming it has gone....

Had a look for this without much success. Turns out I was looking in the wrong place and wouldn't have found it even if it WAS there. Thanks to FB I managed to query the cache location with the CO who let me know where it was so I could check on it for him. Turns out is was missing after all!

This is the 1st of 3 caches we didn't find today. Twisted[:(!]
[red]We spent quite some time here at around 12:12:00 PM, but we just couldn't locate your cache, so a DNF from us - - - not stating it's not there... just that we couldn't spot it. Twisted

After reading that cache wasn't under the obvious Geomom & I searched high & low while GPS was jumping back & forth. A light bulb moment soon had cache in hand & log signed luckily as sun was getting a little to warm for my ranga skin.

22-Mar-15
Was concerned about the DNF's and I arrived wondering what I might have to search. Well, with the annual Chinese festival on......and about 200 people crowding the car park on my first visit, I had no choice but to come back today...

Started looking under the obviously item, but GZ seemed to say I should be looking along another line. Had the CO's phone number, so made the call to see if we could find it and confirm it was still in place. After my initial call I was going to give it up, when the cache was spotted....a little hard to see up in the hiding spot, but it was there to see. Log was signed and cache returned ready for the next finder.

I note the hint has now been changed...and my only other comment is that I think the difficultly is probably higher than 1.5...but the good news is it is there.....and unless a muggle is watching a cacher actually make the grab....it should stay in location without a problem.

Thanks for the cache and the assistance O319.....

Stopped in Young on our way home after the long-weekend trip to the Weddin range. Had a brief look around under what we though was the right spot but it was leaking some rather odious scents so we didn't really feel like searching for very long.

26-Jan-15
A DNF for baby&Mrs gopher today. Searched for a long time but ?

25-Jan-15
Whilst visiting my sister, YNNBUB in cootamundra this Australia Day long weekend YNNBUB, FrannyJ and myself decided to go for a drive and grab a few caches that we hadn't got yet in nearby Young and try this one again after finding that it had a new location. We looked around for a while and got really frustrated when we were at GZ and looked everywhere, under everything, even found a spot which I thought would be perfect only to find it not there. A nice railway station but no luck again. Not sure whether it has been muggled or not.

Called past today and worked out what happened. The cache was on the back of a down pipe on the platform. If you look carefully you will see the gutters and down pipes have been recently replaced. So have found a new location that hopefully will give less trouble.

With about 80 mm of rain this week, I found the cache to be soggy: whose bright idea to park in there? It is now behind there, instead. Think, guys. No GNSS! Twisted

23-Mar-14
Enroute from Junee to Cowra, we Mrs One Eyed & I stopped by the station to look for the cache.
Unfortunately no such luck.

23-Feb-14
Having lived in Young before, it was great to get about and see some of the old sights.
This rail station hasn't seen any passengers for many years, but has been kept in really good condition.
The cache took a while to find, as my GPS was playing up and wouldn't give me a good position of GZ. Eventually, it settled down and the cache was quickly in hand. TNLNSL TFTC

19-Feb-14
I've been a regular visitor to Young lately but this cache was gone when I first came. Happily it's back up and I wandered down to the station this evening to make a quick find. Signed and replaced. There's some dudes who hang around with their cars out front of the station who are there every evening. I do wonder what they are up to...

Thanks!

Good cache, 19mts off the dz.

09-Feb-14
A very hot day for geocaching but I went off with gerrynewgirl and 'Haydos', from Miss Megs and Haydos. Cache was spotted from a great distance and I reckon that you're lucky it was us and not a muggle that came upon it first. We poked it behind said hiding spot but it was a good cache. TFTC

I thought the cache was going to be on the tracks, but luckily bikerbuddy is more sensible than me & looked in the right spot.

Thanks Smile

The most pressing thing to attend to when we got to this great old station was the great toilets at either end of it. Toriaz was already searching for the cache, however, when I got out. I think she was basing her search on two other hides we found earlier in the day, but they were by somebody else. Then I had a guess at another place and had the cache in hand. The cache turned out to be easier than I anticipated. Thanks

In town for our GeoGirl to play League Tag, we hoped to complete the Young caches following the games.

This was an easy cache. I spotted the location a few metres out, and although my compass was saying to go about another 4.5m a quick glance told me I had the right spot.

The log book bag was looking a little worse for wear so I replaced it with a fresh bag, same log book inside.

TFTC.

Once the GPS settled down, we ignored it and found the cache. Thanks.

After having alternator problems yesterday and being stranded in Wagga overnight while finding a replacement and fitting it we headed off this morning aiming for pprass camping event near Port Macquarie at the end of the week and picking up caches along the way. As we approached this cache we couldn't help but admire the architecture and workmanship that went into the construction of this building. It shows how important the rail used to be to these country towns. It was great to see it being maintained so well. We used the amenities here and it was great to see the old decor still in place. We obviously went to the wrong side of the building first as we always seem to do but at least we did get to have a good look right around it. Once at gz with minimal places to hide a cache we found it in the second place we looked.
Thanks for the cache

Visiting this delightful towne never gets old Big Grin
Today I finally found the railway station.
A beautiful olde structure which would impress any train traveller.
Except that there appeared one problem when I wandered onto the platform hoping to see a train.
The rails by the platform have not seen a train in years [:o]
I didn't expect that !!
Well at least the cache was a nice easy find on the deserted platform Big Grin
TFTC and visit to one of Young's hidden secrets Razz
Who ever heard of traveling by train on a bus anyway !! [:o]
I hate buses !!

17-Mar-13
Found this cache at 11:35 am while on our way back home after being in Forbes for the weekend. Thought we would have problems with this one because as we pulled up the Countrylink buss also did. Not to worry the strickly stayed out the front, while we meandered to the platform.
Nice easy find.
Thanks 0319& Just jessie for the hide.

A quick find here today with Just a cacher. I am sure that there was a cache near here not that long ago.

Thanks for the cache 0319.

Had a day in Young with Daughters netball so thought a cache would be good between games.

Have done a few now on or around railway stations and I enjoy them.

It was so nice to be back in Young. We used to visit Young for the Cherry Festival Basketball Carnival in our youth and of course get up to all sorts of mischief. This visit was much more subdued. Thanks for the case and the trip down memory lane. JenneG & Budgy

Passing through Young to pick a box of cherries and a cache. Staying at tourist van park (brilliant park) and walked over while kids were put to bed, took awhile to find as I even thought it could be inside the building but had CIH when thoughly searched area. DOH, why didn't I look there earlier? SL TFTC

# 2578. After 3 weeks of travelling our holiday is about to end. Robmc and I are heading to Beechworth today from Bathurst.

Rob and I drove to the Station and walked around to the platform. Up and down we went with our GPSs not liking being under the tin roof. Couldn't get closer than 30 metres with mine. Rob was faring better but kept missing GZ. He had been poking fossicking right at it several times and then I said but have you tried....."there". Bingo! Nice hide. There is something similar in Beechworth and that is why I thought it could be there. TNLN TFTC.

Bathurst to Beechworth, the trip home with Bettyboo3747
Our timing here was impeccable! Moments after leaving the platform a large group of tourists arrived!
Fabulous old station, but as we saw from the tracks - no train has been here for a while.
Thanks, Robmc.
