It was a wet and chilly day in Trentham today, but a planned outing with a friend was not to be missed. She was very keen to learn a bit more about geocaching, so we layered up and packed the umbrellas and ventured out.TFTC, nicely hidden.
We spent close to 45 minutes on this one to no avail. Was fun tho, maybe next time!!!
My GPS was pretty off on this one, but after activating the ol' cachesense - it was pretty much where you'd expect. Great spot. TFTC TNLN
14:16We looked high, we looked low, we looked in, we looked out, but today there was no way we could work this one out!Unfortunately, like the previous searcher, this DR 1.5 TR 2.0 didn't want to show itself to us today! We did find some possible hiding locations about 11m S of the GZ. Thanks for the hunt anyway feathertop.
No joy here...look all around the one stump I could see, but alas no cache could be found.
Thanks anyway feathertop...

It was a toss up today between walking or mtbing. Reluctant Geoteen declined my invitation to come along & I felt guilty leaving Geolabradog at home, so Shanks' pony it was.
I didn't intend coming here on a weekend but here I am........ on a cold, overcast Saturday.
There were people everywhere but this was a quick find - my notoriously bad GPS averaged 8 - 12m out all day. Many thanks

Really enjoyed the walk to this cache. Having little kids in tow, we couldn't walk too far, but still a good effort. Beautiful day, beautiful bush. Thanks Feathertop!
On both passes there was gardening underway right at at GZ So we will have to return for a quick park and grab another day.
Found at 11.30am. Out for a walk to Lyonville and return with our dog.
Took a little time to find, and got bitten by some blackberries in my search.

Thanks

Bit off the track, isn’t exactly on the navigation but once looked easy to find. TFTC
My gps kept pulling me away from gz so i spent some time searching unlikely spots. Eventually i ignored it and voila, there it was.
Last find on the track in trentham before we have to head for lunch. Hopefully we return soon to collect the rest
Back log, out for a day of driving to get Geokid1 learner hours up, what better way than to cache around a nearby town. We enjoyed exploring here as we have lived by our whole lives but only ever drove by, it's nice to look further into the town
Yay merkin of lokis 600th find!!! :3 what a good little cache to mark this occasion!!
Found while visiting Daylesford region for a special birthday.

The Drovers had come down from New South Wales and we decided to meet them and do a little bit of caching in the area.
We thought that we would have a look at this trail and found it a little bit easier than expected so continued on grabbing a few more as far as we could get. It's only when we came to log the caches we that we realised that there were a few more left that we had missed so we will have to return to do these.
We enjoyed the hunt and all bar one cache was found quite quickly and the log books now contain our names.
Many thanks feathertop for a fun trail and the exercise.

Met up with Team Crackers in Tylden, and picked up a few caches while in the area.
Thanks to all the CO's for a entertaining day. All caches found quickly and in good condition.
Many thanks for placing this cache, feathertop, for us and others to find.

After we did the walk we decided to look for it one more time and wow that’s a giant stump.
We love Trentham as a holiday spot and were so glad that restrictions had been lifted so we could head out here to enjoy the second week of the school holidays exploring Trentham and it's neighbouring little towns. We arrived at our holiday rental yesterday and along with the many amazing things the house had to offer in the garage were a couple of bikes. So today joined with only 2 others from the Clan we took on the fantastic Domino Rail Trail just down the road from us on the bikes. This was the first one on the list to pick up along the way and we spent around 5 Minutes looking at GZ then after reading some logs I realised we might need to expand the search radius a little. The other 2 continued along the trail as I was left to grab this one on my own though now I had a confident idea on where it was hidden. Put my hand into the little hole and came out with a Geocache in good condition. Between sanitising my hands I signed the log and quickly hoped back on the Bike to catch up with the rest of the family. Thanks for the start of the series Feathertop
GPS was a bit off, but the kids persisted and we found this one after a decent search. Nearly at the rail station, hopefully we make it before it rains.
Disabled for the duration of the Covid-19 crisis. Advice is to stay home and geocaching is just a game. Geocaching encourages non essential travel and contact transmission is an issue so it is the responsible thing to avoid caching at the moment.
Thanks.
Thanks.
On a camping trip with the boys in the area, thought we'd enjoy a walk while finding some caches. 3/3, TFTC!
Going through our drafts and realised did not log! Was done before ISO. Was doing a few caches while in the area.
4/12 caches along the Domino Trail today — all successfully found despite occasional challenges and downpours. TFTC!
Pretty location.. Love Trentham. Nice day out for the boys on their bikes.. picnic in the park and GeoNanna showing the grandkids how to cache... Note to self - Don't let them bring the scooters next time... TFTC - left some earings
Find 2147
Enjoying the walk along the trail in the sunshine. Cache found in good order. Log signed and all back safe again.

Found on a day out with boydclan and my geo kids and yes the day got crazy but it was a good crazy
Out with dehands and her geo boys gathering smilies today. I think it's gonna get crazy! TFTC
I needed a bit of a perk up, so very unexpectedly Sal and I went on a cache run and found around 13 (yes 13 - lucky for some, unlucky for others !) of her caches - it is always nice going on a caching run with the CO. So despite the weather being quite cool, and we could see our breath in the cold drizzle that fell, our navigation skills were exceptional - ok, ok, being in the company of the CO meant we were never looking for long and we even replaced 3 caches so win win for everyone!
Loads of other walkers and joggers enjoying the cooler weather today on the Domino Trail too, but no other cachers as far as we could tell.
Thanks feathertop for the company and for the great little series.

The first few spots of rain fell as we parked the geoCruiser, so on with the hi-viz shower jackets and off we walked to add some more smiley faces to this series. SL at 2pm #6004 TFTC feathertop. We had spent a couple of hours at the Kyneton Lost Trades Fair, before travelling to Trentham for some caching fun.
Geocaching combines our love of bushwalking and relaxing together. We love walking trails like this that bring us to peaceful new places to enjoy. We skipped the first two caches with the plan to return to them at the end. Great walking track. Thanks for the cache
Parked the geo-loppy close by and wandered back to make the find. Trail was reasonably busy this morning so had to time it just right. Log book signed and this good sized cache is back where it was found. TNLNSL. TFTC. KKams
Eight find in our Domino trail trek today, starting at Lyonville and ending at Trentham station. 4 adults and 8 kids. This one was discovered by Miss 8. Thanks for the cache.
Last one as we realised the time. My gps had me on the other side of the creek bed. It's been about 5m off for a few days. Maybe the full moon has affected it. Thank you for the short walk. TFTC
Suscoe decided to have a day out around Trentham today.
Cold as could be up here today, oh well it is around 700 metres after all.
It was mostly overcast with a steady northerly blowing all day.
However it is always nice to wander around the countryside far away from the busy traffic elsewhere in the world.
The reason for today's expedition was the completion of the Domino trail. We are please to say we were able to sort out the hides and we enjoyed the wander along the tracks of this area.
Thanks to feathertop for this hide, soon had this one in hand.

This was the third of eight caches found whilst on a Cubs' Grey Wolf hike along the Domino Trail today, in the company of SirJ-Oz, j-bean and the Grey Wolf Hike Crew.
After a short search (at a place highlighted by another member of the hike crew) I quickly put my hands on the decent sized container.
Signed the log, took nothing, left nothing. Thanks for the cache, feathertop.

Find #3339. Found @ 12:31 with Civil Madman, j-bean and the Grey Wolf Hiking Crew.
We're on a Grey Wolf hike along the Domino trail, and I decided that some caches needed to be found while along the way.
Civil Madman made the find here once we relocated to the alternate track, the titular feature was pointed out by one of our other adult attendees.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache feathertop

Third cache of the day. Took us a little longer to find this one with the gps jumping around a bit. Thanks to altmot for spotting this one. TFTC.
Found after a short search. Our approach to this cache disturbed a wallaby (or was it a kangaroo?) who kept headed away from us along the path in the direction we were travelling. Eventually it decided to move off the path to escape these annoying intruders! Tftc
Since I first heard about it I'd always wanted to walk this rail trail. The kids are old enough now and the weather was great so why not today!?
We had a heap of fun on this very scenic walk and the kids loved it just as long as there were plenty of snack stops along the way. Falling asleep in the back seat on the way back home helps as well.
Last cache of the day on the way back to the car. We had had to bypass this one on the way up as a guy was working on his yard just through the fence from GZ. He must have retired inside for a cuppa by the time we returned as he was nowhere to be seen.
Cheers and thanks for all the fun we had along the Domino trail.
