It was a wet and chilly day in Trentham today, but a planned outing with a friend was not to be missed. She was very keen to learn a bit more about geocaching, so we layered up and packed the umbrellas and ventured out.Cache was well hidden, and we had a few options to choose from. TFTC

Another one that took almost all my allocated time before it was spied. Was happy to be signing this one and then heading back to the car.

Thanks again feathertop...cache all good.

Lovely spot. Everything is in good order. Thanks for the cache!

It was a toss up today between walking or mtbing. Reluctant Geoteen declined my invitation to come along & I felt guilty leaving Geolabradog at home, so Shanks' pony it was.
I didn't intend coming here on a weekend but here I am........ on a cold, overcast Saturday.
There were people everywhere. I managed to leave the main trail unseen, in between big groups & dog walkers. The cache wasn't where I expected it to be but I soon gound it nearby. My notoriously bad GPS averaged 8 - 12m out all day. Many thanks

Braving the road in the little I30, with mum loving the drive, nodding off as I wander to find more of these caches along this track. What a beautiful way to finish ANZAC Day, thank you Feathertop for placing this cache here and allowing me to indulge in two of my passions...caching and the Bush!

In Trentham for a lunch today, I had planned on targeting this cache as it was the only one left in the series that I hadn’t found. I packed the rubber boots luckily. I parked within 200m of GZ and decided to walk as it looked very muddy and I didn’t want to get bogged. The devastation in the area is quite confronting. I did wonder what I would find at GZ. I needn’t have worried as the cache was safe and sound. I signed the log and replaced. Thanks feathertop, this circuit is a lovely walk, the landscape may have changed a little but it would be pretty none-the-less.

08-May-21
Went out with merkin of loki for our catchup walkies session, we both needed somewhere easy but lengthy and with a stunning landscape to boot. Trentham didnt disappoint and this trail was the perfect friend catchup walk!! We scored a stunning day and we had fun just blowing off the cobwebs of our cache finding skills.

05-May-21
Finally worked out that at some point this domino trail left the train tracks so not as much scrambling needed. Tftc.

The Drovers had come down from New South Wales and we decided to meet them and do a little bit of caching in the area.

We thought that we would have a look at this trail and found it a little bit easier than expected so continued on grabbing a few more as far as we could get. It's only when we came to log the caches we that we realised that there were a few more left that we had missed so we will have to return to do these.

We enjoyed the hunt and all bar one cache was found quite quickly and the log books now contain our names.

Many thanks feathertop for a fun trail and the exercise.

27-Feb-21
Met up with Team Crackers in Tylden, and picked up a few caches while in the area.
Thanks to all the CO's for a entertaining day. All caches found quickly and in good condition.
Many thanks for placing this cache, feathertop, for us and others to find.

Restrictions lifted

30-Mar-20
Disabled for the duration of the Covid-19 crisis. Advice is to stay home and geocaching is just a game. Geocaching encourages non essential travel and contact transmission is an issue so it is the responsible thing to avoid caching at the moment.
Thanks.

20-Mar-20
The title says it all once again. A quick find as we try and race the black clouds coming our way!
Thanks feathertop for the series placement.

31-Mar-19
I needed a bit of a perk up, so very unexpectedly Sal and I went on a cache run and found around 13 (yes 13 - lucky for some, unlucky for others Wink !) of her caches - it is always nice going on a caching run with the CO. So despite the weather being quite cool, and we could see our breath in the cold drizzle that fell, our navigation skills were exceptional - ok, ok, being in the company of the CO meant we were never looking for long and we even replaced 3 caches so win win for everyone!

Loads of other walkers and joggers enjoying the cooler weather today on the Domino Trail too, but no other cachers as far as we could tell.

Thanks feathertop for the company and for the great little series.

10-Mar-19
Not many walkers out now that the weather has turned into a wet afternoon. A couple of bike riders on the other track, but mostly just us! SL at 2.25pm #6006 TFTC feathertop

29-Jun-18
Suscoe decided to have a day out around Trentham today.
Cold as could be up here today, oh well it is around 700 metres after all.
It was mostly overcast with a steady northerly blowing all day.
However it is always nice to wander around the countryside far away from the busy traffic elsewhere in the world.
The reason for today's expedition was the completion of the Domino trail. We are please to say we were able to sort out the hides and we enjoyed the wander along the tracks of this area.

Thanks to feathertop for this hide, not a soul out here at the moment.
So quiet except for the occasional squeal of tree truck on tree trunk in the wind.

This was the fourth of eight caches found whilst on a Cubs' Grey Wolf hike along the Domino Trail today, in the company of SirJ-Oz, j-bean and the Grey Wolf Hike Crew.

In order to not slow down the hike crew too much with our caching, SirJ-Oz headed off to scope this one out in advance while the others stopped for a brief snack. Following shortly after I managed to synchronise my arrival at GZ with his and we each took one of the visible obvious search options. SirJ-Oz chose well and quickly turned up the container.

Signed the log, thanks for the cache, feathertop.

Find #3340. Found @ 12:59 with Civil Madman, j-bean and the Grey Wolf Hiking Crew.

We're on a Grey Wolf hike along the Domino trail, and I decided that some caches needed to be found while along the way.

The others stopped for a snack break and I continued on ahead to scope this cache out. Civil Madman followed and caught up just as I got to GZ. There were 2 options which meld with the cache name, and I chose the one with a cache in it.

Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache feathertop

This is fun! A little walk and a little treasure.

14-Apr-17
Since I first heard about it I'd always wanted to walk this rail trail. The kids are old enough now and the weather was great so why not today!?
We had a heap of fun on this very scenic walk and the kids loved it just as long as there were plenty of snack stops along the way. Falling asleep in the back seat on the way back home helps as well.

This one was a bit further off the trail than we thought it would be. Great time for a snack stop as well as a cache find.

10-Apr-17
Have been looking at this series for a while and penciled it in to do whilst having a couple of nights away in Hepburn. Little did we know it was going to be the day after over 50mm of rain fell! TFTC.

26-Mar-17
Thankfully, despite the same sort of toe tapping as before, we soon laid eyes on the right spot here, and happily made our mark on the logbook.

Moderate bush bashing, and not far from where we were, the coords were very impressively "spot on" which was fantastic.

The children had picked up a toy spider and were taking turns to scare each other with it. They were also asking for lunch but it was miles off lunchtime.
My eldest was using his Magellan and I had my Garmin- we are both quite new to our respective devices and still learning the ins and outs of navigation through menus.

Found by caughtatwork at 13:45 on 10/12/2016
I do like the name of the cache being a hint as well as the hints. This makes for a very pleasant afternoon walking rather than fustration in the bush.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thank you for placing this geocache here for us to find today.

27/11/2016 2:40:00 PM - The weather forecast for today was good and suggested ideal conditions to go exploring. Today I teamed up with Square_Pegs and along the way I stopped here to find this cache Smile and take a walk along The Domino Trail.

Thanks feathertop Smile for the adventure.

25-Apr-16
Out geocaching today with GeoYogster, Jaggedwings, Cherad and Mi5sie. It was decided via facebook that the Domino trail was on the "to do" list. So at 10am we all met at the Trentham Train Station and started walking. We enjoyed doing the walk and managed to get every cache in the series. Despite a few geokids dragging their heels we managed the whole thing in about 3 hours. We saw tractors, dirt bikes, bicycles and horse riders on our wander along the trail. A lovely day had by all. Thanks for placing this series for us to find Feathertop.
