It was a wet and chilly day in Trentham today, but a planned outing with a friend was not to be missed. She was very keen to learn a bit more about geocaching, so we layered up and packed the umbrellas and ventured out.Very well hidden and found by my caching buddy. TFTC
It was a toss up today between walking or mtbing. Reluctant Geoteen declined my invitation to come along & I felt guilty leaving Geolabradog at home, so Shanks' pony it was.
I didn't intend coming here on a weekend but here I am........ on a cold, overcast Saturday.
There were people everywhere.
We slipped & slithered our way back on to the main trail & thankfully caught a break in the foot traffic for a quick find here. The container had water inside that I drained off. My notoriously bad GPS averaged 8 - 12m out all day. Many thanks ?? ?????????????? ????

Found at 12.10pm. The trail is a little damp underfoot but pleasant walking. A lovely little creek.

Found! Left treasures we found scattered from the looted cache further down the trail
Cute bridge, unfortunately the log was too wet to write on. Thanks for the cache!
Found it bush bashed our way to the bridge great hide and Thankyou for the history lesson
Went out with merkin of loki for our catchup walkies session, we both needed somewhere easy but lengthy and with a stunning landscape to boot. Trentham didnt disappoint and this trail was the perfect friend catchup walk!! We scored a stunning day and we had fun just blowing off the cobwebs of our cache finding skills.
The Drovers had come down from New South Wales and we decided to meet them and do a little bit of caching in the area.
We thought that we would have a look at this trail and found it a little bit easier than expected so continued on grabbing a few more as far as we could get. It's only when we came to log the caches we that we realised that there were a few more left that we had missed so we will have to return to do these.
We enjoyed the hunt and all bar one cache was found quite quickly and the log books now contain our names.
Many thanks feathertop for a fun trail and the exercise.

Met up with Team Crackers in Tylden, and picked up a few caches while in the area.
Thanks to all the CO's for a entertaining day. All caches found quickly and in good condition.
Many thanks for placing this cache, feathertop, for us and others to find.

We love Trentham as a holiday spot and were so glad that restrictions had been lifted so we could head out here to enjoy the second week of the school holidays exploring Trentham and it's neighbouring little towns. We arrived at our holiday rental yesterday and along with the many amazing things the house had to offer in the garage were a couple of bikes. So today joined with only 2 others from the Clan we took on the fantastic Domino Rail Trail just down the road from us on the bikes. I felt like we might have looked for this one before but had to give up with poor reception and low battery. Today was different though and the cache was quickly located in record time, once again with a helpful hint. Log signed and made sure to stick to all the necessary COVID protocols then back on the Bike and continuing the muddy adventure. Got a few great photos here and couldn't resist the chance for a selfie over the river. TFTC Feathertop
Disabled for the duration of the Covid-19 crisis. Advice is to stay home and geocaching is just a game. Geocaching encourages non essential travel and contact transmission is an issue so it is the responsible thing to avoid caching at the moment.
Thanks.
Thanks.
This was a bugger to find ....we eventually found the lid of said mint tin but even with a phone camera we could not see the other half. Replaced cavhe with a fresh tin.
Thanks feathertop for the series placement.

Nice hide thanks. I have to admit that it was our third attempt. Sadly we slipped whilst returning it, the top came off and it pinged further away than we could reach with our fingers. Hope that the next person can solve it.
On a camping trip with the boys in the area, thought we'd enjoy a walk while finding some caches. Interesting to see how this old bridge has been weathered over the years, though plenty strong enough for our convoy still thankfully. TFTC
Coming back from a previous DNF this time the cache was found without any problems. Thanks for the series feathertop. It's been a great walk.
7/12 caches along the Domino Trail today — all successfully found despite occasional challenges and downpours. TFTC!
Pretty location.. Love Trentham. Nice day out for the boys on their bikes.. picnic in the park and GeoNanna showing the grandkids how to cache... Note to self - Don't let them bring the scooters next time... TFTC
Using the phone app we did not have any service here, so no info. We had a good search but no luck.
The container was a long way in the hole, so took a lot of work to extract. The lid is now missing. Cheers.
Found with boydclan and my geo kids. We drove the trail so had to climb to find this one
Perfect weather for this lovely little series. We've decided to drive rather than walk, but dehands and I are happy to add a string of smilies to our maps! TFTC
I needed a bit of a perk up, so very unexpectedly Sal and I went on a cache run and found around 13 (yes 13 - lucky for some, unlucky for others !) of her caches - it is always nice going on a caching run with the CO. So despite the weather being quite cool, and we could see our breath in the cold drizzle that fell, our navigation skills were exceptional - ok, ok, being in the company of the CO meant we were never looking for long and we even replaced 3 caches so win win for everyone!
Loads of other walkers and joggers enjoying the cooler weather today on the Domino Trail too, but no other cachers as far as we could tell.
Thanks feathertop for the company and for the great little series.

Replaced this one on a maintenance run with Goodlook. Mint tin - no need to leave bridge
After looking for quite a while we gave up. The hide was too good for us. Thanks for the challenge
A morning walk/bike ride with the Sistema crew had us returning here to try and get the last 5 caches on the trail. I'd done the first half over 3 years ago and was back to turn two DNFs into smilies! I did manage that but also collected another DNF on my travels! It was a lovely morning to head out. I can't believe how busy the trail was - people everywhere (although not on the loop). We had lots of fun then headed into town for lunch at the bakery when we had finished. Thanks so much for these caches along a great little part of history.
Fourth find in our Domino trail trek today, starting at Lyonville and ending at Trentham station. 4 adults and 8 kids. This one was discovered by 11 year old Stanley. Thanks for the cache.
great job hiding took 14 people looking for it still took ages then voila there it wss
Suscoe decided to have a day out around Trentham today.
Cold as could be up here today, oh well it is around 700 metres after all.
It was mostly overcast with a steady northerly blowing all day.
However it is always nice to wander around the countryside far away from the busy traffic elsewhere in the world.
The reason for today's expedition was the completion of the Domino trail. We are please to say we were able to sort out the hides and we enjoyed the wander along the tracks of this area.
Thanks to feathertop for this placement.
After what seemed like a considerable amount of time we contacted the CO to find out what we were doing wrong.
The CO suggested that we pop a replacement container in the GZ location and so we did.Much appreciated.
We met a guy who does Llama walking tours near here, a very slow pace to take in the world.
The Llamas looked so cute too.

DNF @ 14:47 with Civil Madman, j-bean and the Grey Wolf Hiking Crew.
We're on a Grey Wolf hike along the Domino trail, and I decided that some caches needed to be found while along the way.
We had a very quick look for this one on the way out of Trentham, and a more serious look on the way back, but we couldn't locate the cache container. We did find a location that would be suitable for one, but it was unoccupied. Oh well, thems the breaks.
Thanks anyway feathertop

Found it! We spent a few minutes watching the red breasted robin and taking photos which will only a show a red blur before we arrived at GZ. I then decided to look in all the wrong places and ended up getting quite dirty and wet. A couple of Muggles walked past, asking what we were looking for. I just said I was taking photos of the bridge! Marvellous colours on the beams, I exclaimed! Eventually I spotted the cache! Muggle Heather was literally standing on top of it. Muggle Wen just looked on taking photos of my antics! TFTC SL Nice little hiding spot! And no need to get dirty or wet!
Last one for us today! Thanks for the fun walk, we will head back before the sun sets.
Since I first heard about it I'd always wanted to walk this rail trail. The kids are old enough now and the weather was great so why not today!?
We had a heap of fun on this very scenic walk and the kids loved it just as long as there were plenty of snack stops along the way. Falling asleep in the back seat on the way back home helps as well.
A lot of variety on this trail. We were always fascinated about how the vegetation changed as we moved along and how, this time of year, the Manna Gums look a bit like peeled bananas as the bark falls to the ground in long strips leaving a very pale trunk.

Have been looking at this series for a while and penciled it in to do whilst having a couple of nights away in Hepburn. Little did we know it was going to be the day after over 50mm of rain fell!
Beautiful old bridge. TFTC

In one direction we didn't find this, bit in the return journey, I ran fast ahead of the others, with two of the children, we ruled out a few nooks and crannies, then I was just about to give up when I suddenly saw a teeny corner or what happened to be the cache- hooray!!!! After having to walk past other caches in the series due to impatient members of the party, I was relieved to pick one up that was actually on our route.
I loved the old bridge, and as the creek was dry, I hopped down and took a photo or two

Found by Team Ninja 02/01/17, find number 951.
I was in the area with the family today and we decided to walk from Lyonville to Trentham along the Domino Trail. We had previously walked parts of the trail before it was extended from the Loop to Lyonville, but hadn't done the full trail in one go. We enjoyed the walk and being a railfan I particularly enjoyed the old bridges.
After a previous DNF at this location almost a year ago I was keen to turn this one into a smiley. Our success at the other nearby cache (also a previous DNF) had me in good spirits as we attempted this one. GeoDad was on fire today and spied the cache after a few minutes searching.
The creek here also had a nice flow of water in it. TFTC!

A bit of a tricky one to locate but persistence paid off and the cache was in hand. I also used this location as the one lane bridge locationless geocache.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thank you for placing this geocache here for us to find today.

Out on the mountain bikes to do this series. Great weather and scenery. Still a fair bit of water flowing TFTC.
27/11/2016 3:07:00 PM - The weather forecast for today was good and suggested ideal conditions to go exploring. Today I teamed up with Square_Pegs and along the way I stopped here to find this cache and take a walk along The Domino Trail.
Thanks feathertop for the adventure.

This was a cool little spot, and today there was some water flowing. It wasn't quite where I was expecting though nature often surprises.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
On a wet day rode out to find a couple of caches I missed on my last ride here. Found easily this time. There is a big tree down between the two bridges
Been meaning to get these last 4 for ages.... today was a perfect day for caching
Didn't need the GPS here. Had our caching mitts on this one very quickly. Thanks.
Out geocaching today with GeoYogster, Jaggedwings, Cherad and Mi5sie. It was decided via facebook that the Domino trail was on the "to do" list. So at 10am we all met at the Trentham Train Station and started walking. We enjoyed doing the walk and managed to get every cache in the series. Despite a few geokids dragging their heels we managed the whole thing in about 3 hours. We saw tractors, dirt bikes, bicycles and horse riders on our wander along the trail. A lovely day had by all. Thanks for placing this series for us to find Feathertop.
Out for the day with a lovely group of fellow cachers. Enjoyed the walk of the Trentham rail trail and thought we'd pick up a few more on the way home.
Marshall's Geelong found this cache today,
Easy find. Wasn't too difficult to find. It's a nice bridge. Tftc

Out with a great group today enjoying a fantastic Autumn day. Yogster, Jaggedwings, Cherad and Fergzter made up our group. We had a great time following the trail and accumulating smilies. It's a great trail with beautiful scenery. TFTC. TNLN.
Found with Yogster, Jaggedwings, Mi5sie and Fergzter as we set out to enjoy the day, and this amazing trail, the youngest member of our team along with all the other geokids loved investigating everything. We didn't know this area was here, and it is such a beautiful area. Thanks Feathertop.
TFTC. Out to do the Domino Trail today with McStormy. Quickly up on this one and if I was Mr Fantastic I wouldn't have had to leave the bridge to make the grab. Seven down.
Out for a bush walk today with GeoYogster and decided to nock of your series. The Log is Full and needs replacing. TFTC Feathertop.
A sunny Saturday, and decided today I would explore Trentham - Blackwood. So with Ausfox! and Bentley, that's what we did. Always love coming back through the Wombat Forrest and Lerderderg, as well as these little bush towns.
Spent the day with with Jacko83 and Bently exploring Blackwood and Trentham main rds and tracks.
A great series with adventure as we made our way along the trails. I could see in the distance muggles approaching so I rushed around to make the find. Signed and replaced as found.
Thanks for the cache feathertop

Found in the company of Glanville Girls & Wozzle68, I joined their trip for this series hoping to find the one I didn't have and this was it, on the approach to GZ I saw the recent logs of DNF but I was determined to find it, after a lot of searching the container finally revealed itself and I'm glad to say it's no longer a green icon for me

In the area today with ST37E and Wozzle 68 with the aim to complete the whole of the Domino Trail. This one in particular was on ST37E's radar as it was the only one on the trail he DNFed on a previous visit. He was determined to find it this time around. After searching for some time this one looked like it wasn't going to reveal itself but finally ST37E found it tucked away safe and sound. Thanks for placing.
ST37E had all of this trail but this one and walked a lot faster than myself so I expected the find to be made well before I arrived but he was still scratching around when I got there. Luckily for him he did come up with the goods not long later and was able to remove this annoying little yellow icon from his map. A great hide thanks feathertop
We attempted to find this one as this afternoon and spent quite some time searching. The hint was very helpful and significantly narrowed the search locations and we scoured every spot we could find to no avail. I think this one might be gone. Thanks anyway Feathertop.
It was interesting to compare this spot to when we walked the trail almost a decade ago. The old bridge is still in pretty good nick, my photography skills at this spot still aren't!

Something about bridges! Couldn't find this one either. However good excuse to do this ride again next time I visit Trentham
