Nice spot, shame it won't be long before the ocean takes the hiding spot.

It's been a while since this cache was last found. A bit overgrown but soon had the cache in hand. A couple of people fishing out front. TFTC
Amazing how close to the beach that you can drive, guess the barrier will be eroded away one day soon. The cache was a very quick grab; TFTC

Despite the last log and the cache not being found for 11 months, it's still there, at GZ and as described by the hint.
It was a bit wet inside but as we had come here to chill a bit I pulled everyting out and let the container and logbook dry in the sun for a while.
Nice wee quiet beach. We didn't dare to go swimming though, the waves crashing against the stones didn't look too encouraging.
But the feature that amazed me the most on this beach was the wee stream, flowing out until 20m from the water, disappearing under the stones, and then reappearing just a few meters before the waves, having filtered through the pebbles underground. Or understone, should I say.
Kia ora! Paldies!

My first one. Looked for a while. Was hidden well. Be careful as there is a bit of broken glass in the area.
I was heading to Temuka for the weekend, good opportunity to find a few along the way. Lovely spot! TFTC!!
Easy find while walking along the beach. Pencil was in the container which was great as I forgot my pen. I few items for the kids in there to swap. TFTC
I am off today to locate and sign off at least 6 caches for my personal challenge. I have parked my snail shell up at Ealing for a few days to allow me to discover this area's caches.
Was thinking about doing the Halfway cache but after seeing how far it was from here and the state of the the track the answer was "no way".
Cheers for the cache.

Today's task was to try and clean sweep all my unfounds (bar 1) between the Ashburton & Rangitata Rivers, east of SH1. No problems finding or signing this one. Sea was sorta calm with only a light off-shore breeze. I wondered what the fishing via Kontiki long lines would be like here - I used to do quite a bit of that when I lived in the North Island. TFTC
My first solo Cache! Hosing down with rain for two days, just checking out the roads and paddocks and went to beach to see all the water. Thought it would be rude not to check the cache right next door to where I parked! All dry and present and correct! TFTC
#15158. We parked close to GZ and quickly found the cache. A choppy sea looked distinctly uninviting. Interesting to see another stretch of Canterbury coastline. TFTC.
Found with StreetWalkerNZ on a Waitangi Day excursion to mid Canterbury, concentrating on the area between SH1 and the Rangitata and Ashburton rivers.
We had the coastline to ourselves (excluding the numerous birdlife) and made a quick find in the obvious place. Sea didn't look too inviting today. TFTC.

Lookie at that, an ocean. A few blokes down by the water surf casting, not sure if they were having any luck. Time to park up and go for a (unsuccessful it turns out) walk. Cheers
What a great place the endless ocean a lone fisherman on the beach. All good here. TFTH
Nice view from the cache site. May need a cito event Someday around that area (or the council to come down and sort them cars out)
I stopped here on the way back from the Rangitata River Mouth lagoon.
A few people around - I think some had been using the area for trail bike riding.
Thanks, N!mrod, for placing this cache - and drawing me to the coast.

A scenic view of lovely shades of blue sea. Nobody in sight so we had an easy find. TFTC
Great hide. A shame to see that someone has been down here shooting and left live shotgun shells lying around. So did abit of cleaning them up while we were here as would hate to see someone get hurt by them accidentally. Tftc
Found with team MacDonald all safe and sound although the shot gun shells were a bit disturbing
A nice summer evening, took my muggle son to find a cache. Think i have converted him to a Geocacher
A nice summer evening, took my muggle sonto find a cache. Think i have converted him to a geocacher. Saw three dolphins swim past while we were there.
Typical for us,as two Muggle Cars were parked close by.One Couple were walking away from us and a Bloke was reading in the Sun,but thankgoodness he was sitting the otherside of his car.So we grabed it quick, signed it just as quick and scarped.TFTH
Trying to complete the whole calender matrix, let's see how far I can go.
Out and about on a day off to expore some new places and see where the caches are to mark off my challenge.
Knew where to locate this one but had to wait for a sightseeing vehicle to move on before the retrieval could be made. Will be back another time to collect the one further down the beach when we have more time.
#18 for the streak.

Sea was relatively calm today. Have been out here when its been as bit rough. TFTC.
quick find after doing some work nearby, good to get down this side of the main road to clear up a few caches
Visiting family who have moved to a farm in the middle of nowhere, so decided to find a cache or two in the middle of nowhere. Great view and nice day after wild weather of 2 days ago!
There were bees swarming here today, so we parked as close as possible to the cache. Then it was a case of jump out of the car, grab the cache and jump back in. After signing the log book there was a speedy replacement.
+ a marble, - nothing.

Arrived at GZ and wondered if there was still a cache here. Found the replacement log in a plastic bag, so left it in a container. TFTC.

The log book still visible with signatures in the melted plastic box, quite artistic. LOL But new log book there to sign so all good. Glad we missed out on the prickles. Poor cache nearly perished but not quite.
Melted plastic container was impressive, not sure how long the bag will last.
Will need to remember next time I go caching to take a plastic bag as there were plenty of beer bottles in the burnt out area as well as cigarette stubs near by. I wonder how the fire started, doh.
We have been out this way once before - while caching - looking to hide a cache which we placed that time further south than here. Always intended coming back and placing another one. So finding yours was a good reason to come and do two jobs in one trip.
Thanks for the cache

5012. Called in to do this cache today, expecting to have a painful experience. This eventuated but not in the way we expected! There has been a scrub fire at GZ recently which has removed all vegetation - and most of the cache!!! However, we managed to rescue the charred remains and recreated the cache at the same spot. Signed a charred scrap of the old logbook and put in a new pencil and logbook, which we also signed. The cache remains, and new material are inside a ziplock bag and under a small pile of stones. There is no need to perform maintenance or archive it at present, so cachers can continue to find it at this lovely spot. Rodney and Iris.

Another beautiful day for some caching in South Canterbury. A lovely vista, Ms KR enjoyed the beach. Thanks for the hide.
No No you wouldn't put one there, but you did!!! I'm still bleeding. Great views and such a windswept beach. A new spot for us. Thank you.
Staying in the paddock next to it, the fish weren't biting, just lost gear, at least we found the cache.
Another easy find, but a good place for the kids to get out and have a play. I let Mr Bairdy find this one, with it's prickly hide. - trackable, + green ball toy. TFTC SL
An interesting drive out to the coast for a quick easy find, with the surf, discoloured by the recent rain, pounding in the background. TFTC

About 200m from GZ the batteries in the GPS died. No problem however as cache was found right where we parked. Not really a swimming beech
*FTF* Grabbed just at about sunrise (well the time that the sun should have rised). Still and cool at GZ thsi morning. TFTC
Amazing place this morning, just us and the roar of the waves. The roar of the sea was interrupted by a roar from Drawp!
Thanks
