Heute bei schnstem Wetter im khlen Wald einige Caches der PTPT Wanderung gemacht. Die einen schnell, die andern etwas lnger gesucht und einige gar nicht gefunden. Besten Dank frs legen und pflegen.
We are from Switzerland...We do houssitting all over the world and this time we are back in Tasmania the second time ...We traveled around here 14 years ago...its nice to be back and this time even better with geocaching ..Today Nggi2 and I went out to make out of green ones yellow Smilies on this PTPT track. But we were not able to achieve our goal ,because many caches are missing..and the ones we found we had to search very long or we had to dig them out. We did 15750 steps in 5 hours and ended up with 5 DNF`s and luckily 10 Smilies ...and one write note because that cache needs a higher T ..so we tried a few metres up through the scrubs and gave in.But we enjoyed manly this lovely nature track the tiny thwarfland and the scenery and the fern trees . yea the big fat trees fascinated me very much special theyr roots and hight. We also spoted four Wallabys .Thank you for placing this Dsli (Dsli means little box in Swiss)oinkoinkJust to say to the cache owners of this PTPT track ..it is only fun when the caches are beeing looked after..even when there are no DNFs.. I`m a cache owner in Switzerland and I check my Caches all the time special after rainy days ...and in the forest as wild animals pinch them too sometimes. But thank you to the Cache owners that do look after theyr caches to keep the PTPT trail alive.Text@ holiday home
Almost gave up and then spotted it. Not sure how I missed it to start with! TFTCCheers,The Hancock y
I did put my hand down the connection before turning around! Pedestrian count up to 5!
I'm loving this trail and this track. I will be back for sure [^]

thought we would struggle with this one as we aren’t the best at finding the really small ones but found surprisingly quickly TFTC!
Just started the wonderful Pipeline Track and stopped here to search for this cache. Read the hint, had a little search accordingly, then found it! Still cannot understand the "Mothership Connection" though. Thanks TimTamToo.
Set out to get a few outstanding caches on Mount Wellington today. Very happy to turn this previous blue frown into a happy yellow smiley. There were a few muggles around today, cycling, walking, photographing so stealth was definitely required. Eventually doubled back towards the gz and had a few quiet minutes to search so was especially happy to have this cache in hand, the new hint is very good. TFTC
Muggle muggles muggles muggles muggles spent twenty minutes trying to lose four packs of them. Eventually got there and made the sneaky find. There’s something to be said for remote hikes where there isn’t another soul in sight! Still a beautiful day out. Tftc
What a find we found it in the open we suspect that it was moved in the big winds yesterday. TFTC
Today was a beautiful day so thought we would collect some caches with the geokids along the pipeline track between Neika and Fern Tree. We split off into different areas to find this, and one of the geokids came up with the goods. TFTC
A nice container which was well found with the hint. Cache 3 for my 20/11/19 Pipeline Track caching session, TFTC!
Check on the cache after a string of DNFs. Found it has moved a little so hint is updated.
Today we set out to avenge a recent DNF on GC6Y98M "PTPT - I saw the sign", having noticed it had a recent "found" log. Along the way we picked up another three traditional caches, but unfortunately we also picked up a new DNF on this cache.
Rather than park at Fern Tree as we had last time, we decided this time to park where the track crosses Gray's Road, and proceed to GC6Y98M from there. We saved a couple of caches to break up the walk back to the car, including this one.
At the GZ, we immediately gravitated towards a couple of hiding spots on the upper-side of the track, but we didn't manage to locate the cache. We widened the search to both sides of the track, in a number of different places, but still no luck. A check of the hint confirmed our initial location was the correct place to look, so we tried a more thorough look - still no luck.
Only then did we notice the recent DNFs, and conclude that we were probably chasing a cache that was no longer there.
It's an interesting spot along the track - quite the unusual back-story for the cache name! Thanks for bringing us here, and hopefully we'll be back some day to have another crack at this cache!

Our first DNF of the day. Drifts coordinates and what sounds like cache creep were not our friends
Tassie Trip Day 107 - Today was a good day for a ride on the bike and after deciding to do the Pipeline Track it was finding a place to park and found somewere that was ok but not the correct spot but alas I went on my way and the track was started.
After arriving at GZ and condcuting a very extensive searh for some time it was not found so a DNF for this one today.
Thanks TimTamToo for bring us here and adding to this wonderful power trail in what is a lovely area to ride a bike and enjoy the track however it was a miss for us today.

I am blessed this Christmas to have found the one cache that has been nagging me since I started the pipe line journey way back in 2016, Thanks to all the fellow cachers with some advice and stories about finding this cache. I can now hold my head high and say that I found the Mothership connection. Out and about with the Rafas caching before Christmas, there were some caches to find at the springs. TFTC TNLN log dry fourth time looking for the cache. Thanks TimTamToo for the cache and the wet Knees.
Hallelujah! It's a Christmas Eve miracle - I have found this cache! I have lost count of the number of times I have stopped here to look for this cache. A lot of the time my search was halted by a constant stream of muggles, but other times the GeoGSP and I spent a lot of time searching for this cache. It does seem to get a few DNF's so I figured it was a tricky one, but after about the third or fourth session searching for it, and DNF's being reported regularly - not constantly, but sometimes there would be a run of them - I wasn;t sure if the cache was suffering from 'creep', and I wondered about the usefulness of the hint. Anyway, about a year ago a fellow cacher made the find, and I resolved to get back soon and have another search. I don't know why it's taken so long, but today I headed back to GZ with RLD4963 and the GeoGSP. This time we concentrated our very on a very specific area, and crossed our fingers it was still in the same spot. Well, it took a minute or so, but finally RLD4963 had his hand on the cache. There was much high-fiving - all the way home in fact! Cache is all in good condtion. thanks for looking after the cache Swampy, I'm glad it's finally a smiley.
No luck today at this one. Changed angles a few times but did not work out. I will be back
Well a return to the nemesis cache from when I was here last, that time it was me Mrs SSR and both Gooseandegg, today it was just me and the goose cleaning up this trail.
We were thinking we would find this in moments today but NO we had to search for over 45 minutes and use many PAFs including the CO which it all turned out were wrong since some kind past finder had moved it to a location that match neither the hint or any of the hints given in the later logs!
We must have stood out like bumps on a log to all the muggles coming passed, damn it!
In the end a finger tip search paid off and the cache was in hand and we added our names to the log at long last
We informed the CO of where the cache is now and set off again down the trail.
Thanks for a 'fun' Motherfinding cache!

So after about 18 months it was time for another look for this cache. I had other names for it, also starting with mother, but none-the-less our persistence and multiple PAH's eventually paid off.
It would seem some mother comes out here between finds so even the CO is baffled by it's latest hidey-hole.
Great to have this one off the list after spending nearly an hour here today in the cold. The same groups of people passed us as they went up and back, who knows what they were thinking.
Thanks Swampy, now I don't have to come back.

On a PTPT bike ride today,
I was convince I had found Mothership
So many windows !! [:o]
But no amount of searching would reveal the cache
ET !! Phone me [:o)]

A bit of a search but previous posts helped us get some perspective on the problem
Today was a clean up day, putting smilie faces on some caches that we just never seem to get to. Being such a beautiful day we were enjoying our walk. I continued to walk the line, while male membsec found a park further a long and met me there. Good hide, will trick some people.

Nearly gave up on this one but after reading some previous logs we look at a different angle and made the find.

Another fine day in Hobart and made my way up to Wellington Mountain, but first a stop in Fern Tree to find some caches. TFTC Greetings from Belgium.
Wandered by here on 10 July last year, but did not stop to look, as the cache was disabled. Perhaps we should have, as Team Swampy Enabled the listing on the same day ... whether that was before or after we'd strolled past is now academic.
I've finally got back for another look. A very long look, interrupted by a phone call (my geocaching daughter in Qld) and one handed looking (whilst on the phone) bore no fruit. After the call ended, and after the muggle bicycled past, the hunt continued in earnest, amid "mother..." utterances.
Was almost about to give in and PAF, whereupon looking from a completely undignified angle revealed all.
Very pleased to add my moniker.
I re-hid as instructed, although is hard to find even when looking for it, I don't think it will be seen by general passers by.
Thanks for the adventure.

TeamSwampy thanks for the cache.
This cache wasn't here the last time I walked along this track so today after returning from the mountain I thought I would come and find it.
After a very long search I gave in and phoned the CO, I then found it in the first place I looked.

No idea not usually stumped but for some reason it wasn't happening for us today
A quick search in the most obvious spot lead us to another find for the day! Yipeee thanks!
Checked on the cache today.
Still there albeit slightly lower than previously due to a lot of growth.
Cache still in good condition.

We searched a long time for this one but in the end we had to give up as a bad job, oh well its just the way it goes.
Sadly swampy this was our only DNF for the walk. We searched high and low but didn't make connection with the mothership and we saw no signs of anything cache like. Maybe the caffeine had all been exhausted by this point so were not on our game. Oh well, a good reason to return I guess.
Found on a walk this morning. GPS was a quite a way off but got it after a broad search narrowed it down.

Replaced rubber ring and accidentally put the cache through the wash - cache dry inside so I've placed it back in its hide.
Cache is missing rubber ring and the case is oxidising. Have taken to get correct ring and treat the container.
Got to near gz and was deciding where to start looking and glanced sideways and there it was! We couldn't open the container though to sign so will attach a photo. Found with Molly_ & willbert7074 .

Travelling around Australia and spending a few months in Tasmania.
Oh dear we are really getting slack. Took all morning to make a decision of where we were going caching today. Finally a decision was made that Mr Felix would try to complete the PTPT trail and Mrs Felix would go shopping
Well TomTom took us the long way and it was after 1pm before Mr Felix was on his bike!
Several DNF's today but not too hot not too cold made the cycling fun. Only took about 2 hours to do this section.

Found today whilst out for a walk along the Pipeline track. Time was limited and then I chose to turn back due to rain so I'll have to return sometime for the rest of the PTPT
