Find number 14300 at 2:36:34pm on Thursday the 3 October 2024We're on our way to WA Goes Big, travelling from Croydon (Melbourne, Victoria) with a caravan in tow and making a leisurely caching holiday across the Nullarbor and back.Well, WA Goes Big is done for another year and we are on our way home again now, via Perth, Kalgoorlie and the Nullarbor but slowly over the next five weeks Today we are heading for a side trip up to Geraldton chasing LGA's and a few special caches. We are heading up today and back tomorrow.A quick walk to this cache on the way north, amazing views over the township **Thanks for placing this cache flametrees**---*WOW, so much happening at home in Victoria*Dont forget to log your will attend for Victorias first ever Block Party in March 2025, the [**The Sunbury Event**](https://coord.info/GCAP417).Theres also all those lists of amazing geocaches at [Geocaching Victorias List webpage]( https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/information/great-caching-lists), go check them out.
Enjoyed the climb and the view. But best was the flowers! So despite looking for ages and not finding the cache, still happy I tried.
Found at 11:59 AM GAFF1 in the company of Ian from Ian&Sue - Team PathfinderA big day today - drove 460 kms in 6.5 hrs to find a cache in Mingenew, Morawa, Perenjori & Three Springs. That's 4 more WA LGA's to our find list Arrived at the car park and then a short steep walk to the lookout and on a day like to day the scenery was fantastic Found the cache in the second spot that we looked in and then admired the scenery and chatted all the way down again. Thanks to flametrees
WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 76 - Carnamah to Perenjori via Three Springs, Mingenew and Morawa. As a surprise, it was another fine, if overcast and cool day. There were a few great surprises today. The first two towns were great spots and would have been good places to top. Labs in Three Springs and then a fun hilltop walk for a cache in Mingenew. I visited a Talc mine and then turned south east to get to my final stop for the day. The pub in Perenjori was a bit well decorated and had a big crowd, but that may be the Friday effect. I still went back to the van for dinner. Tomorrow is a longer drive to Mount Magnet with not too many caches on the list, but I have to get to the County Cue, the second last in WA.After a great pie from in ton, I just had to walk up this hill. The sign stopped me from driving to the top car park, but I would have been fine. The walk was good and the climb to the top quite energetic. As ever, plenty of rocks to look in to fins the cache, but I eventually found it and could walk back down to the car. Thanks for the cache flametrees48440.10 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & May 2019 Dead Men Tell No Tales A#400**Albida**
What a nice stetch of the legs after pir picnic lunch. Grohound not so sure of pretending to be a moutain goat, but we got him there in the end. Took awhile for Gps to settle, cache found with a bit of a search. Tftc
I've been working about 15 kms out of town and decided to call in and grab the 2 caches located here. Great views from up top. TFTC
We loved this little adventure! So nice to have this natural and letting you take a few risks! Great view and nice little walk. We've given up hoping to see wildflowers and are just enjoying everything else there is to see. Thanks
A dry year means the wildflowers are not as striking as previous years but the view and cache were a nice find
Parked as close as we could then legged it up the hill. I brought a replacement container but a previous cacher has already replaced and added a new logbook. Geodog enjoyed mountain goating up here. Tftc
Heading north on a road trip with richlink grabbing some caches along the way. We couldn't get to the top with our caravan so we hoofed it to the top.

Catching up on some late logs.
Heading across to Geraldton to catch up with some friends who are not travelling too well at the moment I decided to take the road less traveled and pick up another Western Australian LGA.
Once I was parked I started heading up to gz, I'm not really sure that I went the right way but there certainly was a little bit of rock climbing to get up to the next level but once there I was rewarded with some fantastic views and also some interesting information signs.
We followed the GPSr towards gz where we spotted what could have been the hide from a distance and zero
d in on that.
Unfortunately the first thing I saw was some broken glass and then when I uncovered the cache I found where the cache had come from. It looks like the cache was dropped or some one was a little over enthusiastic replacing the rock on the container,
Happily the log book was sin reasonable condition so after adding our name to it I replaced it upside down for a bit of protection and happily the CO or the next cacher can bring a replacement to keep this one alive.
Thanks for the cache.

We parked in the lookout car park overnight knowing this would be our first cache for the following day. So as the sun started to show itself in the morning we made the walk to gz and spotted the cache as we arrived. We signed our names to your log and returned your cache as we found it. Unfortunately we didn’t have another container with us. We watch the sunrise before heading back down and starting our adventure for the day. TFTC flametrees.
On the road with axell33 heading north to Broome with a detour to Nullagine. Taking our time to criss-cross the golden wheatbelt on those less travelled roads. We stopped up at the lookout overnight, I do not know how the pioneers and all that followed without fans or aircon! It was a warm, still night. At first light we were up and headed for the cache. Found and sorry to say did not have a replacement container for this one. Signed the log and put back as protected as we could. A great view from up here over the town and golden paddocks! TYFTC here.
Today we went from Geraldton via Three Springs to Coorow. On the way we stopped at some geocaches and could find all of them well. Despite the heat of 40 degrees, it was a pleasure to look for the caches. Thanks for laying and maintaining.
Heading back home after Xmas on the farm. Planning to stop and hunt my way home Hoping the 41 degrees wont come to fruition. Taking the inland road this trip. Thanks to the CO’s for placing caches in remote areas for us wonderlusters to enjoy.
Good climb but well worth it for the views. Found the container smashed but log book still in tact. Sorry but too big a climb for me to go back down and up again. If the next finder could bring a container - co-ords are spot on. Look for the glass - placed it in the crack of a rock with the lid on top.

Had a good scan around the LZ, thick dead grass is covering quite alot, may be extra hidden.
Such a beautiful view. We were up there just on sunset. Bit of a scramble over the rocks but persistence paid off.

After going with the Creation Safari group to check out the wildflowers and the old shooting range we talked Driving Mrs D into stopping here for the sunset/fading light. So glad we did - What an interesting spot and amazing view of the cute little town. Enjoyed the history and the adventure. Watch your footing though as Wildflower took a bit of a tumble trying to go a bit fast.

Found on a trip to the west from South Australia.
After camping north of Moora last night, I continued to head north.
I enjoyed the wander up the hill and the view from the top.
The cache was found in good order at accurate coordinates.
Thanks flametrees for the cache.

Heading back after a quick trip up north for various select caches. A slightly different route back to pick up some more LGAs. A nice little climb and interesting rock types to get to a commanding lookout. A quick find of the cache for that grin. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC
A trip from Mandurah to Geraldton with a few detours for LGAs. TFTC.
Great views at sunset.

As part of our not another boring down south trip we are touring the Midwest so familysteiner can fill her lga list. Tftc.
A quick find here with Deefa71 on a 450km drive collecting LGAs. Damn those flies though! Tftc
Thank you! On a road trip to Exmouth and back. Happy to find the cache and cross off another lga.

Nice little hike up the hill with the geodog in tow - needed to be lifted up the boulders.. Container is exceptionally brittle and has a small hole in it. Placed that downwards to hopefully avoid any water ingress. Awesome views! TFTC!
Find 9 of 12 on day 1 of an LGA-grabbing road trip which today took us from home to a remote station half way between Morawa and Yalgoo.
Super views up here today - the rain clouds scudded away just in time for us. A quick find with good co-ords.

Again my 4.5yr old loved hunting for the treasure. Hopefully will be a little hobby for us to do together. Find #2.
On a road trip up to the Mid West. Today, we drove up to Coorow, Carnamah, Three Springs and on to Mingenew where we stopped for the night. We enjoyed the variety of hides, particularly those that were placed on or near signs that depicted the history of the area. Thank you to all the CO's for placing and maintaining these caches for our enjoyment.

Had fun with the walk into this one, clambering over rocks, fantastic views and a quick find at the end of it.
We sat and had a drink before climbing back down and spent time talking to the geo-twins about the different layers in the rock before heading on our way.
-----
With the school holidays upon us I arranged to take the geo-twins for a boys weekend away to the Northern Wheatbelt for some camping and caching, we were joined on the trip by my father in law as he grew up in the area and wanted to try and get to see some of the wildflowers.
-----
Day two has us doing a northbound loop looking to get 4 new LGA’s. We woke up refreshed and after breakfast and packing for the day we hit the road heading to Morowa, Mingenew, Mullewa and Yalgoo.
Saw some fantastic scenery and enjoyed leaving the black top a few times to get to where we were going.
Stopped by the Perenjori playground for a bit before dinner and the footy.
-----
Thanks flametrees for placing this cache for me to find, this is find number 2465 for me.

The intrepid M&B will climb just about anything so made it right to the top to fetch this. I preferred the genie conversation with a lady I met half way up.
Walked to the top of the hill from caravan park THEN wondered if a cache had been planted. duh! On the west side of the hill is the cemetary where i buried bodies and erected gravestones when working for a Geraldton funeral director 45 years ago.
Was out on a wildflower pilgramage with my wife and inlaws. My mum in law is somewhat keen on geocaching. We are staying at Green Head with my father in laws brother and wife. Made the trip up from GH through Eneabba and north road to Mingenew. A quick stop (well sort off with about 30 caravans pulling in and out - mostly heading back to perth), then up to the lookout and grabbed this cache and then on up to coalseam. Thanks for the cache and for bringing me here flametrees
As we look up the steep climb we realise, We have been here before. At home again we check the logs, our previous visit was an unsuccessful search in 2013.

We were making our way back to Perth from Geraldton and this was the first stop. Yep, we drove by a lot if caches and will all day but we don't have time to stop for them all. Firstly we found a GCA cache then came to look for this one. I was worried it would be tricky but luckily found it quite easily thanks to great coordinates. Great views of town from up here.
Thanks flametrees

This one took us way longer than it should have, even after reading the hint! Approached GZ from a different angle and there it was! TFTH and the lovely views.
Wildflower chasing in the wheatbelt and trying to tick off a few shires off the map.

We headed up north to see some of the wonderful sights our great State has, the amazing scenery, the interesting history, the local characters, it's wonderful to see this part of Australia through the eyes of the local Geocachers.
Mt Augustus has been on our bucket list for a few years and now it has been ticked with a smile.
Up and out early in the morning before the heat set in, watching the colours come to life, watching the pre-dawn colours saturate the skies.
Driving out and about on the dusty back roads made for a welcome stop here to enjoy the views of the wonderful Wildflowers.
Now on our way back down south, after we hit 42 degrees.
The temperature is cooling down as we get further south.
We found your cache tucked away neatly, and with signing duties done and dusted, we replaced the cache as found.
Thanks for sharing this interesting spot.

Hi there flametrees.
We found your cache **"Pioneer Lookout"** at 11:41:00 AM today. (This makes our find count 22666).
We are staying in Geraldton for a few days, and when it is not raining we venture out to cache and tour the local area. We started our caching run by nominating a cache quite a way from our camp site and then took a route that was sometimes determined by the next closest cache according to our GPS. We thoroughly enjoyed our interesting trek around the local area
We ended up finding a variety of container types, and sizes hidden along our route. (5 finds today & 0 DNF's). Thanks for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our nomadic travels around Australia. Thanks also for not placing a mint tin or a 200ml Sistema here. It made us feel really good to find this "special" cache here.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 3m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Nothing.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

The wind blew us along nicely today as we went caching with ilook4geo. No problem finding this one and we are enjoying visiting this part of WA. Our last visit was in spring about 5 years ago in our pre caching days and this time the scenery is very different.
Thank you to flametrees for adding to the caching game and for giving us a reason to visit this part of our country again.

Lovely views. Bracing walk. Left a pathtag. TFTC flametrees have a favourite for dragging us up here
Got a break in the weather when we pulled up here. Drove to the top car park and had intended stopping on the way back down to check out what looked like some interesting stuff at the bottom car park but by then the weather had changed yet again so we didn't bother.
A much easier walk than we expected and the cache was quickly found at GZ.
Even a few wildflowers to be seen up here.
Thanks.

Trudged up the hill because we could not bring our van, then a pretty strenuous last bit. Found the cache after searching all over. It was about 4m from GZ. Great views. Something we would not have done but for Geocaching!. TFTC
It took a few minutes to find the road up here then we thought we would take the easy walk trail up along the handhold but there was a bit of a big step at the top. It took me a while to locate the cache but we got there in the end.

We, that is Zauberkeks and Cacheaffairs, enjoyed a 4 week trip from Darwin to Perth and would like to express our thanks to all cache owners for the learning experience and the awesome views and places!
We had just made out the cache location, when a group of people (amongst them robroy_co and magpie51 -- greetings!) aproached us. We immediately switched on stealth mode, but then we noticed the GPS devices and instead had a little international caching event with a phantastic view.
Thanks for luring us here and greetings from Germany,

Stopped here again in an effort to discover the caches hiding zone and armed with an extra person we seached the area and discovered the where abouts of this previously unfound cache.
